I did not feel good about this place at all. My Toyota tundras engine light was on so I put a code reader on it and got the code which was for a knock sensor. so I went there to investigate further and within five minutes he was quoting me $900 to replace two sensors which involved a bunch of labor. Then I cleared the code with my device, and the light has not come back on since. I felt like there was zero exploration of if the repair needed to be done or not. He was prepared to take that money from me without actually needing to do the repair. I d steer clear of this place.

Tran is seriously the best mechanic I ve ever had. I ve been brining my thirty-year-old truck to him for years and he s never let me down. He s always honest and upfront about what needs to be done, he never tries to gouge me and he s SO much more affordable than other mechanics!! I ll stay with him as long as he s in business.

Took my car in for mechanical work and picked it up with very bad front end damage. Claimed he didn t do it and then that he didn t have insurance to cover damages on his lot. Very shady!! Tran's Auto Services 4810 SE Belmont StreetSalvage, rebuilt parts, garage owner charged customers for new parts price. I was fooled bythose so called "good reviews" created by the owner's family members and friends, believed hiswords "the starter is dead, alternator needs replacing". Replacements of a starter dead inless than 5 months, alternator dead in less than 8 months, he refused to redo the jobs, notrefund. While, I was forced to pay the same jobs and same parts again at another garage, foundthat the starter and the alternator from Tran's Auto Services were the rebuilt parts fromsalvage yard. Now, I'm seeking the legal aid to get compensation from this immoral garage.

Great service and amazingly nice people! I am newer to Portland and did not know who to take my Ford Explorer to and I am so glad I brought it to Trans Auto. They inspected my vehicle, gave me a quote and told me what was wrong and fixed it in less than 24 hours! As someone who was open about not knowing anything about cars he was great with me, honest, and was even willing to speak to my dad who lives 1000 miles away and explain what was wrong with my car. They are also very flexible and I cannot possibly recommend them enough! As long as I am in Portland I will bring my business here!

He did a great job replacing my water pump, timing belt, and radiator on short notice since my car broke down while visiting Portland. The work was excellent and the price was affordable. He also offered a free follow-up adjustment for the fan belt. No hard selling anything, but just honest recommendations for the bare minimum of work we could get done for the car to run, but what he would fix if we could afford it. He was nice enough to throw in a couple of labor things for free since we were college students and did a big repair.

While the shop may look eclectic at first glance, I never once doubted Tran's expertise, ingenuity, and honesty. Unlike many mechanics, Tran always gives an honest and fair price, and truly cares about getting the job done right. He always does the final checks and test drive himself to ensure that everything is running smoothly, and there is never a problem that he can't find a solution for.

Can't say enough about the great service here. Tran worked on my Mini Cooper and gave me honest advice about what I needed and didn't. He didn't try to sell me more than I needed or asked for. My car was ready when he said it would be. I would definitely recommend!

My family has used Tran across 3 generations. He's reliable, honest and prompt. He takes much pride in his work. He's a mechanic you can ask, Do I need a new x-y-z and he'll say, No, not yet, another couple years yet. Or once he helped me save $100 on tires when I'd already authorized purchase of a more expensive set. He took it upon himself to find me a better deal. Someone else might've used such an opportunity to pocket the difference. He's a stand up guy.

Outstanding honest, affordable service. GM specialist. Would not hesitate to use Tran again. Cannot say enough great things about service and quality of work. Excellent, honest, affordable mechanics are rare as hen's teeth. Tran is a great find.

I asked how much it would cost for a diagnostics test on my car and the response was If you trust me then you can bring the car by and we don t talk about price till then. I ve never met the man, and I haven t been to an auto shop in Portland yet. Seems like a strange response. I m not going to bring my car in without a price tag being put on the initial diagnostics test.

Called with a simple question and the man who answered the phone was incredibly rude. He repeatedly said that "I was making him look bad" by asking him to replace a part on my car. He made me so uncomfortable that I hung up, visibly upset.

i brought my care in for an occasional squeaky noise. Mr. Tran tightened my serpentine and the noise is gone!

I called to ask a general pricing question and was told that they don t give any quotes over the phone, I d have to bring the car in- before I could ask a follow up question about when I could bring my car in, he said bye and hung up. So rude- you lost a customer.
