Tran was very helpful about my check engine light issue. He was very responsive and followed-up with phone calls, which I appreciate very much. He gave me tips on resolving the issue and surely enough I was able to fix the issue with my car and passed DEQ in the end. Thanks Tran! Highly recommend. Very nice mechanic :-)

Dan changed oil on my Mercedes. The price and service are great Thank you!Had some trouble to find it. It's garage next to a barbed wire fence. The best time to come - early morning (7.40-8am)

I can't say enough good things about Dan and his work. Affordable, friendly, casual, good conversation. Excellent communication. He does oil changes for a good price as well. Our community is better for his shop.

I found Trans auto care because it was close to my house and he would always be very helpful over the phone even if i wasn't taking my car to get fixed. I had him change the front brakes on my car and within two hours it was ready to go and was way cheaper than i was quoted anywhere else. I even asked him some questions regarding my a/c and he instantly tried to diagnose what was wrong free of change. One of the few honest and hardworking mechanics left.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Air conditioning, Auto brake replacement

Dan Tran is a wonderful mechanic, and I ll back this up every time.He is honest, he never tries to upsell me on car work. If anything, he gives me a prediction for how long any hotspots of my car should last for, which helps me adjust my budget in preparation for the next visit. He gives me quotes and estimate times for waiting before ordering parts and starting the labor. He does a great job efficiently and quickly. He s thorough in diagnosing the car issue and if he doesn t have the capacity to work on the job, he is upfront about that and has referred me to places where I can get the job done.Having moved to Portland for school and staying after, I wasn t linked to any mechanics, like I had been in my hometown. In 2019, I was referred to Dan by a classmate who grew up here. Since 2019, Dan has helped me with many car issues, here s some to name a few-1. Radiator leak- He helped me fix my hoses and recommended I change the radiator, which we didn t get to do in shop, but he gave me a ballpark quote to expect and recommendations.2. Strut replacement- I was in desperate need to change my strut, as my drive became unbalanced. I got my car towed to his shop and he got it fixed within the day.3. Oil changes- During my routine oil changes, he does his due diligence to check anything I ve had questions about (brake check, fuse check, lightbulb changes), which he did free of charge kindly.4. Car assessment- One day, I started my car, which started up way differently from what I m used to and felt uncomfortable to drive it. I was about to have it towed, but since my car was parked near his shop, on that same day from hearing the sound on the phone, he actually came by to assess it himself. We found my catalytic converters were stolen, which is a job he referred me to do elsewhere, which I did through my insurance. Got it fixed timely.Tip: Call ahead of time, if you can! While he is very accommodating and tries his best to add in any day-of cars, his schedule gets booked up But! If you can wait, it s worth the wait to be able to have him work on your car.Dan is a kind and knowledgeable. He is also very experienced in the industry, having worked on ambulances for many years. I m a loyal customer, which he s had many of them, based on the folks who I ve met in passing while having our cars worked on by Dan over the years. My vehicle started having engine problems while I was on vacation in Portland.I called first thing in the morning and dropped my vehicle off 15 minutes later.My vehicle was fixed that same afternoon and I couldn't be more grateful!Very fair and honest work. I would recommend this business to anyone.

Ha, I just watched Steve Hanlon speed away yelling about 1star reviews after having a fit because the mechanic stepped away to grab some paperwork. What a goof.Tran s is a one man single bay operation, I m not sure if he even has a sign up, but make no mistake, the guy is super talented. The epitome of a good honest mechanic.

Brought our car in while on a road trip with some urgent issues & a time crunch and we are so happy we chose Tran s!! From his willingness to help us right away, his thoroughness to figuring out the issue, and then making sure we were safe to drive home that day - we cannot express how thankful we are. Not only that but he even called us while on our drive home to make sure we were all good, that kind of service and care goes a long way. Highly recommend!

The car needed some suspension work done and Trans took care of the work at a fair price. He also kept me updated with the progress of the repair which I really appreciated. Dan was great; I brought my car in for a rattling sound and a gut-wrenching thunk over pot holes and rough road. He showed me the extent of the damage, let me know it was a mild sway bar issue, and assured me that my car wasn't about to fall apart or break. I didn't feel pressured or pushed to get repairs, and was assured that although the sound was bad, it was something that could be fixed when I was ready and able. I thanked him for his assessment and left thinking I'd found an honest mechanic. I'll definitely be bringing my car back.

We ve brought our car in twice, once to to fix a brake light and the other time to replace a bumper. Both times Tran was extremely hospitable, worked with urgency, and FAIR! Of the dozens of mechanics I ve used in my life Tran is by far the best!

I called Tran's on a Sunday after an attempted cat converter theft that left my exhaust lines sawed through. Mr. Tran answered promptly and listened attentively; he referred me to another shop nearby that made the repairs quickly and for a reasonable price.I really appreciate his help.

Great customer service each time I have gone. Gives detailed information before repairs begin. I have had 2 vehicles done at this shop and never had a issue with the service provided. Will definitely use again.
