This place is not too great. I ve been ordering parts from here for roughly five years and almost every time you call you are met with someone who is in a rush or in a bad mood. You can ask three different reps the same question about parts availability and get three different answers, they are always leaving you in the dark if you have any questions or don t know what a part is called they are sure to make you feel stupid for it. Communication between reps and customers is not up to par and you would think when you spend tens of thousands of dollars with a company you would at least get decent customer service. About 30% of the time when I call for a quote on an item it will show up at my shop even though I didn t ask to order, they re just not listening. returning am item is not a comfortable situation whatsoever, You rely solely on them to handle it with no documentation on your end and the rate at which I m having to return things because of mistakes on their end (sending items that were only supposed to be quoted), this makes it more uncomfortable. From now on I will be using local dealers whenever I can, they are always very nice and they always get my order right. Every time I dial up Tonkin parts center of Portland I m absolutely dreading the call. Tired of spending 30+ minutes on the phone with a confrontational person who doesn t want to help me.

This Company is one of my favorites to order auto parts, I like it because they have many brands in one warehouse that I like for example GM, Dodge, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Acura, Mazda, Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, Porsche, Subaru, Mercedes Benz and many more they also deliver throughout Portland and its surroundings, the people on the phone are always friendly and always willing to help you with what ever you are looking for

Good prices, and the counter people are always friendly to me at least. Will call is painfully slow and needs a substantial overhaul though. Tonkin should take note that almost every review on here in the last year is 1 star, that should speak volumes.

In many years of calling and trying to purchase parts from TPC it s often frustrating to find a counter person that I can actually get ahold of , get a reply or call back, email quote etc I ve been working with Hector lately and I m very impressed with the expedient and accurate service!! THANKS DUDE!!

Great customer service good place to pick up your parts good drivers good skill people who know what they're doing and Westside Collision Center I got to say we do a lot of business with them and they've always been professional and no their knowledge of what we need

Ouch! We ordered a few body body parts from the Kia location and received 1 wrong part and 2 parts not at all but were billed for them. Called to find out what happened, and after spending 2 hours on hold finally got told that they can have the parts in will call in about 2 hours. Then proceeded to charge me for a 2nd time for the parts we never received! I was told that is just a new invoice and we would have to wait for credit on the original invoice. Hands tied we had to have the parts for a waiting customer. Super disappointed! We have purchased a lot of parts with Tonkin Parts Center and it seems like we may have to go elsewhere.

Ordered parts over the phone.. asked them to will-call.. parts were shipped to shop twice with a 3 day delay. Every where online says that it opens at 7:30am.. they open at 8.. at least as of 3/10/17... I GUESS THEY LIKE PEOPLE TO BE LINED UP AT THE DOOR BEFORE THEY OPEN.Returns of unopened items are with a 25% restocking fee even if you spend 100ds of thousands with them THAT'S LOW - EVEN FOR TONKIN...Parts availability is good but service is very low for a PRO like Tonkin

I don t suggest working here. Unless you want to get fired for missing a couple days for an on the job injury and then to have them lie as to why you got fired. Stay away, unless you want that and no proper PPE so you have a high chance of being hurt.

Worst Experience ordering parts. Every time I called they just passed the buck. Completely incompetent. Took 3 days to get 2 small parts. Was told 4 different times they have no ETA or update. They could careless because it was only $10 in parts, when other orders are in the hundreds or thousands and the dealerships are they're only care. I was told 3 different things on one call. They're delivery system is even worse. You're better off picking up the parts...which we had to do.Trust me when I tell you to order parts elsewhere and save the headache I had to.

Since purchasing from the parts center I have never had a part arrive on time. Each time I call I receive an excuse for lack of delivery. Too few drivers, drivers missed pickups, couldn't fit my order etc. If I place an order the day before and later it is found that I wouldn t be receiving my parts I should be given a call that my order is delayed. If you order from Tonkin, expect to be left in a state of purgatory never knowing when you ll be able to repair your customers' cars or ever see your parts. Feel free to place an order for willcall, but also feel free to wait out in the parking lot for an hour or longer while an employee goes cave diving into the abyss of THE LARGEST AUTO PARTS WAREHOUSE IN THE WESTERN UNITED STATES . Do yourself a favor, buy from anywhere else.

The parts counter clerk kept staring at my zipper area. I felt like I needed another shower afterwards. He just kept licking his lips with his eyes rolled back in his head...he looked like a Great White Shark.

This company may offer delivery but has no regard for public safety or traffic laws. After waiting in line during road construction for several hours, their driver just passed 6 cars on the right and cut me off as soon as traffic began to move. Very reckless driving afterwards and continuous dangerous and antagonistic driving should not be tolerated by this company.

I've generally had good experiences here when it comes to Parts arriving on time as promised. Sometimes the phones get backed up, and there can be a delay before your call is answered. Also come if you're calling towards the end of the day be aware of the closing time, as you may just be stuck on hold for a while after they closed. It's obviously a glitch in the phone systems with that.That being said, they've always been able to get us the parts we needed in a timely manner, and only once when we wanted to pick a part up and we'll call did they ship it to the shop accidently. Overall, it's a good wholesale source of parts for your business with a huge selection under one roof. That's nice, since it simplifies things and saves time as you can get parts for multiple makes and models from multiple manufacturers under one roof.

Ordered some parts online, and asked to have it shipped UPS 2nd day. I even called them to confirm what I wanted. The guy on the other end of the line had a bad attitude, and made it clear that ALL communication should be via e-mail. Okay, no big deal I thought. He sends me an email stating that it would take 3-4 days to get the parts in, and that 2nd day air would not get to me by my deadline. I responded by stating that I did NOT have a deadline, and I still would like the parts air freighted to me. He came back to me stating that the order would be cancelled by my request! Makes not sense to me. I was happy to pay the extra charges, I told him I understood the lead time, and after 5 days of jerking me around, he cancels the order! This is some of the worst customer service I have ever received, and will never order from this company again. If your looking for GM parts online, DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE.

Had to order a list of parts, guys on the phone had a terrible attitude, no patience. Had to call in a couple times to confirm the right parts, getting that ohhh again attitude. They need some training on how to talk to customers.

Great place to get parts. Its important to be a professional in the automotive industry as this is how Tonkin is most effective & valuable to the customer. If your a DIY'er its good to ask for help & be patient. These guys do this 5 days a week. I've been a customer with Tonkin for about 10 years now.

This company has no regard for other people or the right of way. This morning on my way to work, I was stopped because one of their delivery trucks was parked on the sidewalk, meanwhile the company they were delivering to has TWO (2) available parking lots. They were of course blocking traffic in the rightmost lane as well since the truck was so large.

BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES THAT THEY DONT WARN YOU ABOUT!Been working with them for past 10 years and everything was great until recently, the will call department became rude using coerce language and that is fine don't bother us too much, untill today.Insurance job came in, we ordered all the needed parts and an extra $30 dollar price of plastic was ordered that was not needed. So I asked to have it removed from list at will call. Guy in smerky manner tells me that would be $10 restocking fee. I near started laughing Becuse that unrealistic. I haven't even paid for the parts yet. Nor was the part a special order. So the counter man became offensive after I refused to pay the $10 fee and was told to not come here no more. So I took it up with their management and he just gave me the run around story or people not getting all the parts and etc. So at the end nothing was done. So after 10 years of success full partnership they are willing to end it over a $10 dollar fee.That's fine by us, we will be taking our business to other dealers in town!

Called from another Dealership to get a price on a bumper. I selected the Ford prompt was transferred the guy who answered was extremely short and rude! You shouldn't put a 1-800 number soliciting business on the side of your vans if the person who answers your phone doesn't want to help your customers! Really unprofessional I bought the bumper elsewhere!

They put me on hold for about 20 minutes, It's very hard to order parts from them. Ron Tonkin parts center should of have a direct line for each mechanical and body part department, and check their employees to provide a good customer service.

Parts have never arrived on time lately. Try calling someone and just end up wasting my time with all the transfers to end up hearing the same excuse over and over again.

I drove ALL the way to Tonkin because they had the part I needed!! No one else had it. I appreciated the person on the phone helping me and the entire process couldn't have gone smoother! Next time I have a hard time finding parts, I'll call Tonkin and be done with it!

I purchased an item from this company, and then they cancelled for no reason, multiple days later. I would have ordered from somewhere else if I knew this was going to happen. Now I have an unhappy customer that will have to wait longer. What terrible customer service. BUYER BEWARE

Never had any problems. Short waiting time. Excellent quality parts, and btw not that expensive
