Drove a beater 92 940 Turbo with over 250k miles since January 2021 knowing the engine was shot. Brick lasted 2 whole years with no compression and terrible knock in cylinder 1. Finally the turbo went too, evacuating all the oil in the sump on the drive here. Dave told me it wasn t even worth the repairs but I protested and he obliged. Put a new (used) engine and turbo in and constantly kept me updated on the installation. I cannot overstate how satisfied I am with the quality of service I received. Been driving flawlessly for the last week and a half.

Ran into an issue while on a road trip. Many shops I contacted were booked out for a few weeks Swede One included but they were understanding enough to slot me in for a very quick yet thorough repair! They know their stuff: David in particular was able to identify the problem within 5 minutes and also gave me some tips about some of the aftermarket modifications that were already installed on my car. Now, I wouldn t say I d ever *like* to visit a auto shop (who likes seeing the doctor? Definitely not your dog), but if my car ever has a problem and I m in the area, they d be the first ones I check out! Much for resolving a stressful situation efficiently!

I took my 2009 S40 T5 for the 1st time to get the spark plugs and trans fluid. Not only did they did they do a great job at a fair price, they (without me asking or charging me) filled the fluids , checked to see if there was any error codes and made sure the turbo and engine was tuned. The car runs great and Dave provided me a ton of useful info.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

These folks went above and beyond for my Volvo. I had some pretty major electrical work, fuel pump replacement, and other miscellaneous repair done in one go. They stayed communicative, diligent, and took extra steps that I feel many mechanics wouldn t do.Especially David, he used some wizardry and re-wired part of my engine wiring harness that other mechanics couldn t comprehend, saving me time, money, and stress.I will be coming here as needed from this point on.Services: Electrical repair, Electrical

Came in for a stuck hood latch on my 1999 V70 T5. They were quite busy like they usually are and staff was friendly but said I will likely need to schedule something since it takes time to work on this issue. One of the mechanics then stopped what he was doing and said I'll meet you outside by your vehicle. He spent a few minutes with another mechanic that came out and they gave me some pointers on how to resolve it myself. Long story short I removed the front grill as they suggested and was able to access under the hood again then fixed the latch myself. For the grill I simply Jerry rigged it in place with some thin wire at the top and bottom to hold it in place since I broke the remaining clips. Can't tell a thing hardly. Thanks a ton for the quick help guys. I will definitely be back when I need some work done that I cannot do as I know from friends and now experience that this is an honest Volvo repair shop.

Ill start by saying that I loved this place. I have taken my last three volvos here... an 850, XC90 and my 240....most recent trip I took it in for some diagnostic work. I asked that it be diagnosis only. NO repairs. I didnt have the money to throw at it and I do a lot of my own work, just not good with diagnosing some things.....I want to be very clear, in no way did I even hint at my wanting repairs. DIAGNOSIS ONLYSO what happened? He claimed to have diagnosed it and went ahead and did the work anyway... without even calling me first so when I called to pay I got 3x the bill I was expecting.... The worst part? HE WAS WRONG... the work he did, without my permission, claimed to have fixed my AMM code didn't work. within 20mi the light was back on. SO I was essentially forced to pay for work that I didnt ask for, that didnt even fix the problem. MAYBE I could take it back and have him diag again... but driving to Portland from Woodland for a MAYBE? Not to mention having a ride home, then a ride to pick it up?They REFUSED to credit me for the unauthorized work. I was able to make a deal on the parts cost, because I had the part already. So I gave them mine in lieu of paying for the one he installed. Beyond that, he charged me some screwball price for a f-ing oil change, again, that I didnt ask for.... sorry bub, no AMM code was ever cleared by an oil change.I used to love this place and trust them completely with my cars... but it seems that they are like everyone else now... just driving it til the wheels fall off.... make as much money as possible before the poor economy puts them under.Well, yeah, I don't have a lot of money either... not that they really care, but I hope it was worth it for a few hundred bucks. I'm not bringing my Volvos here again.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I cannot say enough great things about this company!!! I recently had a nightmare situation with my daughter s Volvo while getting her moved back home from Portland to Denver. Working with Swede One put my mind at ease very quickly! Being out of state, I was beyond stressed that I was going to be completely screwed over. Dave was very understanding, empathetic to our situation and ensured me they would stay within my budget to diagnose the problem and hopefully be able to fix it very quickly. He even stayed late to help us coordinate getting the car towed to the shop! Warren was the mechanic who worked on the car and did such an amazing job communicating with me what was wrong, what he was doing to fix it and helping me coordinate coming into town to drive the car back to Colorado. Warren even took extra time to make sure the car was dependable before my daughter had to take the long drive. As a mom, this peace of mind means the world to me!Dave and Warren are very honest mechanics who truly care about their customers! This is a quality not found very often in this industry! I highly recommend them!

I brought my Volvo in with transmission concerns after having it at two other shops. SwedeOne was able to correctly diagnose and repair my car. They finished the repair ahead of schedule and even did an adjustment to my climate controls as a courtesy. They know Volvos!Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnosticServices: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

They were super helpful and friendly with my V40, even when delivering the bad news of my compromised head-gasket. They called me as soon as the found it and called me to ask if I wanted to continue the inspection given the high cost of that single repair. I declined and they gave it back with no charge at all. They even helped me later that day when I called back to try and get my stereo code to unlock the stereo. I was very impressed and will take all my future Volvo business to them.

I just bought a used Volvo and brought it to them to do an all around check. They have been so patient with all of my questions and concerns. I am very impressed with their service/work and customer service. Other auto repair companies should be more like them. Swede One is an amazing and oustanding company! I will recommend them to anyone!

I've been here twice now and had a great experience both times. They have fixed the problem both times I went. They have upfront pricing and I've never been upsold. The last thing I took my car in for was only a $51 service but they still took the time to clean my car inside and out. It sometimes takes a few days to get in, but it's always worth it. Highly recommend.

I bought my Volvo from Swede One and recently had to take it in for an oil change and service. I found the service department at Swede One to be very good. They took the time to explain all the work that had been done and the reasons that parts need to be replaced, they were professional, thorough and very knowledgeable about the car. I definitely recommend them for service on your Volvo.

Always fair prices, great advice. The owner and staff has always treated me and my mother with the utmost respect and kindness. I've never regretted sending my car to Swede One, I've only regretted NOT doing it.

2 years ago my Volvo S40 2001 was repaired at Swede One Autoworkers. They changed a gasket and changed the timing belt because oil was leaking on it. I paid $1500 for the repairs. This year, in August, I brought my car to them again, because it was dying in reverse. They didn't fix the problem. They returned the car to me and said that they couldn't get it to die. I paid another $140 for nothing, because the didn't fix it. The engine was sounding worse than before, and it was still dying in reverse. After a few days the check engine was on. I decided to bring the car back to them to see if now that the check engine was actually on, they would actually fix it. When they were repairing it, I had a conversation with them on the phone. They told me that the part that they changed 2 years ago failed. They said they never seen it happening before. They also said that they needed to change the timing belt again, but that I didn't have to pay for it, because it was still in warranty. When I asked how much it would cost, they said probably around $100, but they ended up charging around $324 for the repair, because they had to put in new sealants. I asked to change my windshield nozzle on the passenger side, but they actually told me that they changed the one on the driver side because it was broken (?). The nozzle was spraying all on a side, so my windshield situation was worse than before. 20 days later, the check engine was on again and they changed a valve for less than $300. They changed both of the windshield nozzles and charged me for both. I was charged two times for one of the nozzles. 2-3 days later the check engine was on again. That's when I decided to take it somewhere else. The other car repair had to do again what they did. They didn't fix it right, and there was a oil lick from under the head of the engine that was never fixed. I ended up having to pay another $1000 because they never really fixed it.STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

Good mechanics. Had my old Volvo S40 in and out in a few hours. Pricey, but I'm always willing to pay more for good quality service. Check out the show room if you are into vintage Volvos.

The "other shop" that I trust with my Volvos. This is for the Repair side as I have not purchased a car from these folks.I was referred to them by my usual Volvo guys for the dashboard/computer issues that they aren't equipped to handle. They work quickly, the rates are reasonable, shop is in good repair.Rather than buying an entire new dash module for thousands, they instead removed the console, and sent it in to have it rebuilt for a fraction of the cost. Expertly removed and reinstalled, I could not find a scratch or lost bolt anywhere after their work.If you have one of the early P2 Volvos with an automatic transmission, you might be aware of the need for a new valve body and programming on many of them (the Rev-and-Clunk from a stop, Hello "Limp home mode"). Swede One rebuilt my '03 V70XC transmission quickly, didn't screw up sealing it. The price hurt, (transmission work always does) however they were still lower than most other quotes and had the endorsement of the guys who've been fixing my Volvos for 17 years before this. The car was solid as a rock (trust me, I tried to force errors, it was shifting/starting like oiled silk without a care in the world) until an idiot crossed the yellow on Rocky Butte, totaling the poor wagon a few months later.Found an '02 Manual V70 T5 with only 50k miles on it afterward (Long story, Nebraska Truck-lot find at an incredible price, see one of my few other reviews), It's in great shape (practically new) so I've not had a reason to visit again, but I'll trust them in a heartbeat if the situation arises.

Called them to find out how to turn off the alarm after opening the car door without my fob. The gentleman on the phone knew right away and sure enough that was it,turn the key twice the other way and it's off. Thanks!

Brought a car for a Pre-Purchase inspection and the guys were extremely helpful. They inspected the vehicle very thoroughly and gave me great advice. I was able to get a great deal on the car because of the information they gave me. Well worth the money!

They were able to perform the diagnostics and repairs that other shops couldn't on our xc90. The price was reasonable and the staff was very friendly with no aggressive up sale.

If your looking for foofoo coffee and pastries this is not it. If your looking for a solid mechanic that will shoot straight, stand behind their work, and charge appropriately, Swede One is it.

I purchased a 2001 s80 in December 2016 and it has had several problems now including a oil pan leak , Jim the salesman says it's because I drove it in winter conditions but that's what a Volvo is for , it has winter mode - because I sent a adult rated email to the sales manager, Warren the service manager is refusing me repairs on a certified pre owned, this car is far from certified, Dave the owner is a cool guy , he gets left in the dark and hears one sided stories from his employees.
