I STRONGLY SUGGEST NOT DOING BUSINESS WITH DAVE !We ordered a transmission for a customers accord. It lasted 1,000 miles. Ya that's right 1K. They brought us another transmission which lasted another 45 days. This time it left parts on the ground. Dave did bring us a third transmission. This one worked as expected but we have never been paid for any of the labor it took to install them. They talk about a warranty and how it pays 50.00 per hr which would at least cover my techs labor but we have never seen a dime. Dave will not return phone calls or emails. I wish I had looked at reviews before doing business with these people. I have filed a claim in court and hope nobody else falls in their trap.

I work for a auto parts store in Washington state. When one of my customers needs a quality transmission with one of the best warranties this is the first call I make. The staff is very knowledgeable and personable. 9 times out of 10 they have the transmission in stock and is shipped next day; which me and my customers really appreciate. If they don't have it ready to go they also rebuild customers unit.

Our Shop has been buying Transmissions from PTP for a couple Years. Only had a few issues after buying over 75 Units and they were quick to get us taking Care of. Elizabeth is an absolute joy to Work with on the Phone and the Techs are great to talk to when something is not right. Great Place!!!!

Dave was Amazing. I had ordered a transmission for my wife's car and they had it built and tested in a couple of days. I picked it up and delivered to the shop to be installed. The shop calls me 10 minutes later and lets me know that I had the wrong one. Apparently my 1999 Isuzu had a 1998 transmission, go figure. Well I returned the transmission to Dave and he said they were pretty busy but he would get it done as soon as possible. Well 36 hours later he called and had one ready for pick up. Absolutely wonderful customer service, great price and I would recommend them to everyone. Thanks Dave my wife is happy to get her car back! :)

could not be happier with the customer service and the quick turn around times that the crew at PTP delivers. Elizabeth and Linda are a pleasure to work with. any issues are always resolved quickly and professionaly. I highly recommend using them and their units. Not only do they have automatic but also manual transmissions as well as transfer cases.

I have been working with Portland Torque Products for sometime now, and my experience has been great. Their turn around time is always good, their prices are very competitive and quality can be counted on. When seldom things don't go perfectly, as with any supplier in this business, they quickly own and address the issues. Their staff is very capable and professional, always.

For starters we are a transmission specialist in Idaho that has been in business 30 years. We had a 3 shaft Honda Odyssey transmission fail under warranty. PTP made us eat $250 in shipping both ways on THEIR failed unit. We had 10 hours labor to remove and install the unit after it came back. We were reimbursed $300. So they basically gave us $50 for our troubles and we tied up a hoist for 7 working days.I cannot recommend enough if you are a professional repair shop, by all costs DO NOT purchase a transmission from Portland Torque.

As a longtime small business owner I tend to dislike the online review process because I fine that it seems to be an avenue for people to make illegimate claims against businesses. However, this review is based on a situation where the business owner was given numerous opportunities to do the RIGHT THING to avoid this blemish on his businesses reputation. I am amazed by some peoples lack of business ethics. They will spend 50 cents to save a dime.I will keep this short and to the point. Portland Torque products warranty is as good as the paper it is written on. I am a small business owner with a fleet of Chevy vans. I purchased a remanufactured transmission from Portland Torque Products. The transmission failed within its warranty period. Warranty assistance was virtually non-existent. I had to resort to nasty emails to get traction on a response. Once we resolved the issue with the transmission, they have not met their end of their warranty by paying the mechanic who removed the transmission and re installed it. I have given the owner Dave numerous opportunities to address this issue to at least communicate with me to make it right. Communication is non existant even after threats of a negative review on Google. Small claims court to follow soon. Stay away from PTP. Go to JASPERS, much better warranty service based on my fleet mechanics point of view

Terrible transmission work first one I ordered lasted 3 months. The solenoid pack was over torqued and blew for 3rd and 4th and the torque converter was shot. Had to pay to have it ripped out and shipped back. Came back with gasket problems the mechanic had to fix before installing. 1 year and 4 months and it's burned out the solenoid pack again and fourth gear is having problems. Terrible workmanship stay away.

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN RUN RUN RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Paid upfront $2350 to repair transmission. Spent $1000 to have a mechanic pull my tranny and paid $350 to have tranny shipped to Oregon. Promised a 3-week return took almost 8 weeks and when the transmission was returned and reinstalled on my car the transmission reverse gear broke and car is not drivable.Awesome warranty and price until you get your transmission back with similar or new problems. No worries THEY WILL fix it just PAY $1350 AGAIN to have you mechanic pull the tranny AGAIN and ship it.DO YOU HAVE $1350 TO THROW AWAY? iF YOU DO CALL PORTLAND TORQUE.

Consumer Alert Stay away!!!! Transmission returned with same fail codes. Have your transmission shop work with them on warranty work Dont front money on their behalf!!! Elizabeth Moore the business manger lied took our money knowing they didnt have the ability to do the job we hired them to do.

after the second attempt to fix my transmission. The first one didn't get methe 16 miles home, they not only didn't honor their warranty to pay $50.00per hour for a mechanic to remove it and replace it, they would not eventalk to me after multiple phone calls or respond to a registered letter thatthey signed for. The second repair is doing well.

UPDATE to this review. This place is a joke! The warranty tranny they sent has failed again i got aprox 96 miles out of it. Car had to be towed again to the mechanic in the middle of the night after it left my daughter stranded after work...of course there is no warranty on this one because it was a warranty issue to begin with. I dont think they did anything to it after receiving it back but keep it for awhile and reship it! ORIGINAL REVIEW..If I could give negative stars I would! this place is horrible!!! Office staff hard to get a call back from. On my 2nd tranny in 40K miles! Stay away far far away!

Very unfortunate experience. Hoping to save money, instead lost my A$$. Had problems with first trany, at there recommendation i spent another 700 checking to see if it was my truck. It wasn't. When called for refund for 2nd installation it took 4 months. Then I found out they only pay "motor factory rates". So I got picked fro another 200. So my installation cost were 1642 + tranny cost and with fuids ect 700 to check if it was my trck I was close to 4k. Then I got a refund of 343.00 back. Although my first quote for local was 2800. If I had issues they would have given me a car and reinstalled it for free. In the future I'll bring it local. I tried to be smart and save money. Instead it was too much time lost and definitely money lost. One more point. Chances are they are providing rebuilt trany for you local transmission shop anyway. They and you get a better warranty. You won't pay for second installation.Srewedtranny.

They told me i was getting a master rebuild kit but i have no thrush washers, springs,bearings,sprags,no modulator,no governor. i got two bands, a bushing and seal kit, frictions,and steels for 220 dollars. now i gotta go buy the other stuff when i made it clear i need to totally rebuild a transmission and she told me the kit came with everything. then charged me 30 for ground shipping without telling me, bastards !!!

we are an independent repair shop we buy 50 auto transmissions a year from dave at ptp the units work great and if we have any technical issues david one of there builders is great he is very helpful and we always get the issues resolved in a timely manner simply put they are the best.

I was helped by a lady named Elizabeth who went above and beyond in helping me locate my parts I needed for my truck and was impressed by her ability to get he information I needed as quickly as she did. Bravo to this place for having such a well informed staff!!!

All I can say is read the warranty reimbursement section really close. Because they basically just shake your hand, and say that s all we can do. This is speaking on the behalf of shops. So shops don t expect much.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY !!! They do shoddy work and they DO NOT honor their warranty. I would give them 0 or negative stars if that was an option.

I have lost count of the transmission failures and the total disregard for customers concerns and the after doing business for 10 years disappointment somehow doesn't Express how our company feels about Dave Neville the owner and now he is moving to Idaho good riddance
