Needed a new place to bring our 328xi. Found it!Family owned and operated. Very nice straightforward people across the board. Clean shop! They gave me a concise and accurate evaluation to fix an oil leak. And instead of charging me out of the box for two separate procedures that were suggested by the dealer they assured me that the car would be fine if we fixed the more crucial issue and evaluated the other in 6 months before deciding if we needed to proceed further. I really appreciated that!They only use quality BMW parts and are not going to cut corners on your repair, but they will be very diligent with how they go about it and when all is said and done they will still be less expensive than the dealer.Our baby has found its new home! I recently had an exceptional experience at Portland Motor Works, especially with my '93 BMW 325is! From the moment I reached out, they were incredibly accommodating, managing to fit my car in for service on the very same day. Both Emily and the owner stood out for their phenomenal customer service, making me feel both valued and respected as a customer. Their team not only addressed my BMW's needs efficiently but also provided transparent communication throughout the process. It's rare to find such a reliable and customer-focused auto repair shop. I highly recommend Portland Motor Works to any BMW owner in need of maintenance or repairs.

I had a fantastic experience with Portland Motor Works. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and I never once felt like a nuisance. They could answer every question I had, and also provided great documentation of everything they found and fixed. The prices were transparent, too, and they have a great, easy online approval system. Will absolutely only go here from here on out.

Niles and the whole team at Portland Motor Works is truly wonderful. My car started smoking after I took it for an oil change and the oil place could not find anything they did to set it off. Niles immediately suspected what it was just in our phone conversation and then once I he assessed my car he found he was correct.They have been super helpful in not only fixing my car but also, talking with the oil change place manager and properly documenting everything so i can get the oil change place to pay for the damage.I will continue to take my BMW x3 to them for ALL services and anything else I need. I highly recommend them!

Can't say enough good things about PMW. Professionally serviced our 2012 BMW Z4. The owner, Niles, even called me to explain the issues that they found and recommendations as to which ones should be addressed and which ones should just be watched. Really appreciate the honest, personalized service. And lastly, Niles and his daughter Emily are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. You can tell they genuinely care about you and your car. I'm actually looking forward to my next service!

Niles, Andre, and the rest of the crew here are amazing. I have never been to a shop that treats their customers more valued. On top of that, they are very thorough and not pushy. I had a 2018 M3 go through a post-purchase inspection and they uncovered some terrible problems. It had a check engine light that lead to an air leak through a failing crank seal. It's a big repair job. The dealer is the issue here, PMW is great! Photo is of the exact car (loaded on my old trailer).Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Emily and Niles are the best! My experience was informative and seamless. They really do a great job of keeping you updated on what s going on and next steps, if you have a warranty like I did they advocate on your behalf to get services paid for and get parts in a timely matter. I recommend you bring your care here if you want quality work done and great customer service!

This is what getting your car repaired should feel like. The good people at PMW are friendly and knowledgeable, will explain the problems with your vehicle, fix them, and when you leave you almost look forward to having another problem with your car just so you can be taken care of by then again. Probably the first time I've gone to an auto repair shop and not felt like I was taken for a ride. Thanks.

My BMW dealer did the initial diagnostic test and told me that my car s flywheel failed. We decided to have a second opinion. I called a couple of local BMW specialist. The first one told me since it was such a rare failure, they didn t have the experience. I called PMW. It was Niles, the owner, answered my call. He told me that the flywheel failure was extremely rare and usually it was loose belt which would be an easy fix. By the time I brought the car to PMW, the car failed to start. After examined the car, Niles told me that he was 95% sure that it was the failed starter, not the flywheel. They took a lot of photos with labels to prove their judgment. Sure, after a new starter was put in, the scratch noise is gone. Niles are extremely professional and experienced. I don t blame my dealership either for their mistake. Figure out this kind of problem needs many years experience.

I had a great experience working with the people at PMW. They quickly got me in and performed thorough examinations and repairs to my Audi while suggesting other work without pushing it on me. The communication between me and the staff was seamless and made me feel like I was being taken care of. I recently had a bad experience with a more corporate auto shop, which made me cautious when working with auto repair people. But the staff here renewed my confidence in having a reliable auto service for my car. I will certainly come back here when I need it. On top of everything else, it's just down the street from me!

Cannot express my feelings of gratitude to this shop! I recently purchased a BMW F10 550i from a BMW dealership in the area and wanted to have a post purchase inspection done. Mandy got me in same day and was very helpful in choosing what inspection I should have done. It was a no pressure showing of options and super friendly.They also had it done same day and were extremely thorough. Providing pictures and videos of the deficiencies they found in a very detailed report. I believe his name was Niles explained what they found $15k worth of problems (Based on the work entailed I believe that is a fair estimate.) including the dreaded N63 Valve stem seal issue. Which the car coming from the BMW dealership I would have thought to be repaired.This shop really saved me and my wallet in the future based on all the things they found. Still talking to the dealership about what s next. I will be definitely be going back for all my German auto repairs and recommending them to friends and family.Service: Vehicle Inspection

Excellent. After purchasing a used BMW there were things I knew would need to be done to ensure my car's service was up to date. I had called two weeks prior to discuss some of the services offered at PMW and spoke with Niles, his knowledge and experience instantly made me feel in good hands. I later spoke with Ariel who is very professional and we arranged a time to bring my BMW in for service. From the moment I walked in I knew I made the right decision, Emily greeted me with a lovely smile and excellent customer service. Before the work was done everything was clearly communicated. I feel relieved to have a business that I trust to service my BMW. I am very thankful for the level of professionalism I experienced. I will recommend PMW to anyone who is looking for attention to detail, high standard of excellence, and the best customer service in the business.Update:PMW is awesome and they take care of business! Mandy and Niles were most welcoming to my breakdown while traveling through Portland. They did a diagnostics overview to my transmission, unfortunately the damage present to the 2003 197k miles 525i wagon was beyond the value of correction.Niles inquired with my BMW mechanic back in Denver to confirm the love loss of the wagon. The PMW team was supportive, helpful and comforting with end-of-life to a 13yr good run of many miles, road trips and 3 high schoolers.Service: Transmission

New to Portland, so I ve been searching for a BMW shop to bring my car to. I was due for an oil change, and the dealership had stated I needed my front brakes replaced when I was last there. I spoke with Niles over the phone and he gave me a rough estimate, but said I d really have to bring it in to get a proper evaluation. He was able to get me in the next day, and they did a full inspection of my car before doing any work. I was provided with a detailed report of some concerns and routine maintenance for the car. It turned out I still had some life to my front brakes and there really wasn t a need to replace them just yet (also the quote was much more reasonable than the dealership). The evaluation showed an urgent issue with my serpentine belt and tensioner. They had all parts on hand and were able to repair the issue the next day.What I really liked was that Niles took the time to go over everything they discovered in the report and he explained how it impacts the car/how urgent it was to fix. There was no pressure to do any of the repairs they had suggested, but it was nice to be made aware of the upcoming issues. Mandy was sure to keep me updated on the progress with my car as well. The level of care this shop puts into your car is superb. Bonus kudos for having the inside and outside of my car detailed when I picked it up. I would highly recommend them. Our rear brake pad warning light was on. We took our BMW to the dealership for an oil change and during the inspection, they told us we have low pads and the brake sensor was broken. Dealership wanted $950 for pads and $278 for the sensor. I called PMW and got a quote that was less than dealership. I scheduled an appointment this week and they took care of us. They inspected the rear brakes and actually found we had more life than the dealership said. They also found the brake sensor was cut in half and not just broke. I decided to have them do the brake replacement. They replaced the rear rotors/brakes and sensors, all for less than the dealership wanted just for the pad change. Their customer service was outstanding. They have made a customer for as long as we own a BMW. Will refer other BMW owners to them.

PMW is the best service company for BMWs. I have used dealership services, other European car service locations. None have PMW's ease of doing business with. Scheduling service is usually quick. For those of us confounded by the complexity of the BMW machine, they make simple. Often I can call and schedule a quick drive in check. Sometimes they fix it right then. If more work is needed it is quickly scheduled. I have had zero complaints with the quality of their work.

Best shop in town. Niles and the staff are unbelievable. If you own a bmw, this is the place to take it. Honest, dependable and down to earth.I have had my e46 325xi wagon and my e34 540i both serviced here and couldn't imagine taking my vehicles any where else. The communication and professionalism are off the charts. Having your cars serviced or repaired here is like become part of a family, you know you can trust Niles and the team to not only keep you fully informed but to do the right thing for the vehicle you love and rely on.I'd consider myself an enthusiast, and I know that Niles and the team feel just as passionate about my cars maintenance and performance as I do.

I am so happy to have found a place to take my Jetta! Over the last year I have worked with several different mechanics in Portland and none of them made me feel how PMW did. I instantly felt like I had brought my car to a good place, they got to the bottom of the problem and communicated well throughout the entire process. A few friends encouraged me to take my BMW to PMW. My only interaction has been with Mandy. She is "The face and voice" of PMW. As far as I'm concerned Mandy is definitely a business owners dream of what customer service ought to be. She is gregarious, personable, friendly, these are just a few qualities I noticed immediately. During our interactions she remained professional. No stone was left unturned in regards to my concerns. I was given a prioritized summary of future repairs, I can plan my next move without the guess work. PMW is a privately owned specialty shop and you know auto shops can have a bad reputation. I've been going to PMW for a few years for my M1. They are definitely more reasonable than Kuni and Portland BMW services. Service and communication is very friendly and professional, and certainly timely. I highly recommend PMW for owners after your coverage through dealership ends.
