I was in a bind and needed some repairs to my truck. I hadn't used their service before and based on the reviews I decided to go for it. I'm glad that I did, Harley and his crew fixed everything in a very short amount of time and at a lower price than I expected. I have a new mechanic that I can trust and I will be back! Telling all my friends about this gem of an auto shop. Thanks again!

Harley and his team are great! They fixed our car quickly and professionally after it unexpectedly broke down. Reasonable pricing, honest folks, helpful and communicative. Very thankful we have a good trustworthy mechanic in town!

This place and the people that work at it are exceptional and honest! They have assisted me with an issue that all other car shops in Portland couldn t diagnose and take a look at and within 20 minutes my issue was discovered and solved. I was having issue with the fan in my car and they generated my car and had me on the road in no time. I am grateful and will be coming back if anything comes up that needs a mechanic.

Having car trouble is a stressful nightmare, and Portland Best absolutely rocked the house and got my car diagnosed and fixed within a few hours. I needed a jump and wasn t able to access my cables because of a dead battery, and I hoofed it over to Portland Best, which was in walking distance. The kind mechanic gave me a ride to my car and gave me a jump so I could drive it over to their shop to be looked at. Absolutely above and beyond service. I m very happy I chose them.

I think their service was fine. I was annoyed by the fact that I had spoken to at least four people at the shop about having my car repaired without anyone mentioning a $175 diagnostic fee. The diagnostic fee was mentioned after the diagnostic service had been done, and I had no choice but to pay it. I found that Irritating and slightly shady. That s the kind of technique or strategy that would make me not return to a place. Have they been upfront about the diagnostic fee, I still would ve paid it and used but Would ve felt better about it.

Harley and crew at the 52nd location have restored my long distrust with mechanics. Honestly the best repair service I've had in a long time. Thanks guys:)After what I thought was a good experience these guys wanted to charge me four hundred and sixty dollars for twenty dollar part and about fifteen minutes of labor, thanks!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Portland's "Best" Auto Repair shop just told me it was going to be $550 to change my battery after I had my Toyota Rav 4 towed there because it wouldn't start. I said that seems high, how much is the battery? They said $225. I said how much do you charge for labor? They said $175 an hour. I then said it doesn't take more than 15 minutes to install the battery, and he said well, we had to do a diagnostics check. I said how long did that take you? He said an hour. Okay, $175 plus $225 equals $400. So you're going to charge me another $150 to install the battery even though it only takes 15 minutes? He said yes, that is what the system is telling me. So you're blaming the "system" for ripping me off? And he said "Is there anything else I can do for you maam? I said nooo thank you. I called the Toyota dealership and asked them what they would charge me to replace my battery and they said $225 which includes the install cost of $30 as it takes 15 minutes to install they said. I had my car towed to the dealership to replace the battery. But I still had to pay Portland's WORST Auto Repair shop the "diagnostics fee." My friend who is an auto mechanic in another state said that the first thing they should have checked is the battery which wouldn't take more than 5 minutes. He said they're ripping you off--don't use them. So I wanted to share this experience to hopefully save other people from getting ripped off.

was waiting a week or so after services to make sure this review was valuable and accurate!all i can say are good things about this shop! it was my first time and they were MORE than accommodating, considering they drove to my house to jump my car! not only that, they were able to fix my car day of, truly unheard of these days. they were fair, timely, and affordable! putting customers first is their main concern, and with that, comes honesty. they were truthful and transparent through the process when they could ve taken advantage of my lack of car knowledge.so pleased with their quality of work, i ve told everyone about them and plan on this being my shop here in portland!thank you guys again, you saved me in a pinch!!

My car wouldn't start and I needed to have it towed. Harley recommended a quick & reasonably priced tow guy, and looked at my car on a Saturday morning even though the garage wasn't open. Had everything fixed in a couple of hours, at a great price. Amazing service, above and beyond to help me out. They gave me an honest recommendation I could trust. They could have easily taken advantage of me, but they didnt, instead they gave me clear honest facts I could trust.My wife's car hit a pothole and blew 2 tires. The car was stranded several hours away from our house so on the recommendation of a friend we had it towed to Portland Best Auto Repair. So glad we did. I thought the car might be shot, nope just needed tires. They found me a great deal and didn't over charge me at all. Great prices, communication and got me back on the road for way less than I expected.

Kevin at Portland Best Auto Repair on 70th and NE Gleason is a really good guy. Personable, knowledgeable, and a really good mechanic. I will definitely be taking my car to this shop every time. Illegal, dishonest, physically threatening. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Someone claiming to be the car s owner had them perform a service on my car without my knowledge or permission taking my property out of the car. When I went to inform them of their mistake and asking for my property back the owner came at me and physically threatened to the point I had to flee for my own safety calling me names and never once looking at my proof of ownership which I had in my hand ready to show him.

I'm a laid back guy but turn into a friendly, but annoying customer when it comes to my old 4runner. This team was communicative, knowledgable and more than fair in their pricing. I changed the scope of repair after the initial quotes on a couple of items and it wasn't an issue. Good people here, highly recommend.

10/10 I would highly recommend, I commute 210 miles a day and when my car went down I was stressed and every shop in the area told me I had to schedule 6 weeks out. When I called the Portland best team they walked me through the whole process, handled all my warranty information and had my car back up and running in two days. Absolutely amazing staff. Harley and crew are great!! My husband was my mechanic til he passed away! I feel Harvey truly cares about customers and not making more money. He really took care of my issues and didnt tell me that there was more issues wrong with car other then issues I knew would need to be addressed! Made me feel good that I could trust his shop to do my car work. He was waiting on a part to come in and kept me informed what was going on. E

I was taking my Granddaughter to start her freshman year at College in California. She was trying out for a track scholarship and needed to be there on Monday morning. We flew in to Portland from Alaska on a Friday Morning to find my car had been vandalized and wouldn't even turn over. We ended up at Portland Best Auto Repair late Friday afternoon when everyone else was closing for the weekend.Harley and Kevin took my car and stayed until it was running and I could drive away. They treated me right when they could have gouged me good. Harley even did some work on the interior that they didn't charge for. They are honest, trustworthy and very fair.Kevin is quiet but a very good mechanic.If I lived in Portland Portland Best would get all of my auto business.Service: Electrical repair

Amazing experience here. Everyone was so friendly and I was kept informed during the entire process. They got me in for an appoint just before the heat wave, and the service I received went above and beyond my expectations. My car blows colder than the North Pole. My friend took her car here, she doesn't know anything about cars and it's obvious, she thought she needed a alternator and a battery on a 07 Ford and without diagnosing that's what was done and she was charged $1,000.00 for it too!!! Yes you heard me right a thousand dollars! If you know about cars, alternators are just about the easiest thing to put in and fairly cheap too, takes less then an hr to do! She drove it away and had to turn right around and tow it back. Then they said they didn't know what was wrong with it!! She just picked it up 24 hrs later so I'm waiting to see how things went from they don't know to it's fixed in 24 hrs. Shame on you guys there at Portlands worst auto repair. I hope everyone in Portland reads this and boycotts your business, it's because of repair shops like this that give all repair shops a bad name.

I had my car stolen and the ignition was completely destroyed. These guys went above and beyond to help me with my car, and to stay within my budget. I really appreciated all the help and kindness I experienced there. Often I feel intimidated going to mechanics as a woman, but these dudes talked to me like a person, and that is what'll have me coming back when I need more work done.

I had my speedometer and odometer go out unexpectedly on my F150 at the start of a busy morning. I called and Harley right away said I could drop by whenever I had a free moment in the afternoon and he would take a look at the truck. I came in and Harley Was incredibly friendly. I asked him to take a look at my drivers side door too because it was sticking and getting difficult to open. He gave me a thorough run down of repairs and costs and was able to fix everything for me in an hour. This place is run by honest and kind folks and I would definitely recommend it to my friends! I found him through Google and know I ll be coming back if I run into any other issues with my truck.We also had a nice chat about country music greats, definitely ask Harley what his favorite Randy Travis song is if you visit the shop!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I was on a road trip from the Oregon coast- and my truck started smoking. The towing company I used recommended Harley and his sons for auto repair. Initially I was nervous about finding an honest auto repair- because I m not from the area. Thankfully- Harley told me exactly what I assumed the problem to be, he didn t add on any unnecessary charges. He is extremely knowledgable and most important- he is honest. If I ever have car issues again within an hour of Portland - I would definitely go back. Thanks so much Harley.
