This place used to be great, but my last visit had totally different people working, and was awful.First, I gave them a list of 5 things to look at, and they completely ignored 2 items. Then when they gave me the quote over the phone, the total was higher than each of the itemized services that they had listed. I asked why the discrepancy, and they said there was no discrepancy. So I did the math verbally over the phone for them, and they said, "oh yeah, you're right, the computer automatically added a $50 hazardous materials fee. I didn't put that on there, it's just standard for all repairs. But I didn't mention it earlier." I replied, "what kinds of hazardous materials are you handling for $50?" He paused, and then said, "I'll take it off." He never mentioned it again and I was not charged an extra $50.But the worst is that the car drove worse when I left than when I arrived. I took it directly to another mechanic, who said it looked like someone had punched a hole in the tank for the transmission fluid and it was leaking everywhere. They said if I hadn't come in soon, it would've been a broken transmission and several thousand dollars.Don't go here. I'm sad to lose this place. They used to be trustworthy but no more.

At one time I was my own mechanic so choosing a repair shop for my Honda took a while.I settled on Paul s Automotive because of their friendly manners and their willingness to listen to me and trust my own judgment. This shop has been consistently right on with this.I don t have to bring my car back for redos, it s done right the first time.It s been four years I ve used them and I m not going anywhere else, ever.I trust these guys!

Simple front suspension check, never gave me a price. Faulty strut that s a warranty issue but way overcharged. Could have just taken it to the dealer and payed less. Have taken my cars to these guys for years, now new employees at ripoff prices. Tesla charges $77.50, all I asked was to check the front on the lift, $150 and told it took two mechanics.

This was the 2nd time I've been here for a repair on my car.(1st was 3yrs ago)The guys were very friendly and accommodating both visits. They got my car in for a drop off inspection right away and had it done with an estimate for repairs within a couple of hours. The prices seem comparible to other places around and they have done great work. Definetly recommend!

I have been taking my vehicles there for Many Many Years. Always great work at a very reasonable price. Not the kind of place to rip you off and lie about what needs to be done.

I have brought 2 vehicles I've owned here, one for very complex issues. They didn't overcharge and went out of their way to diagnose and fix the problem.

Prices unreasonable for the service requested and charged $140 to scan vehicle and tell me what I already know. I won't be raking my vehicles here

Love Paul's. Steve has done great work on a 2000 Saturn L100. Had to replace the subframe and an axle after hitting a curb and a radiator after the first estimate shop 'Goin' Strait' punched a hole in it and killed the AC condensor with a lift jack. $1700 in damage.Paul's was friendly, fast, and communicative. Also did a bearing job. Got a faulty one and had to redo following week, but he got us right in and replaced it gratis. Very happy with our experience there.

Great work with excellent customer service and very honest! They fixed my A/C compressor on my minivan by just replacing the missing pulley bolts. They could have charged me a couple thousand dollars for a "new" compressor and I never would have known because I thought the shaft had broken. All their other work has been excellent, too. They won't do unnecessary work and will let you know if they don't think repairs are worth the cost.

The guys are nice and knowledgeable, but I got another quote that was literally half. I would shop around for some other quotes. I feel like I was totally going to get ripped off. I took their quote to another mechanic and they scouffed.

After taking my 98 Ford Ranger here I met the owner and explained to him my issues. He quickly understood my issue I was having with my truck and told me to bring it in. Literally one day later my truck was back on the road with no surprises during pick up! These guys do honest work and deserve the time to write this review. Put it this way my experience at this shop gave me confident in the work that was done and I'd definitely trust sending my mother/grand mother/sister here. I can't see how anyone living in the surrounding Foster road area would not stop by this shop for routine maintenance or general repairs.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Although the repair was fast I was charged more than double what I could have sourced the parts for myself. Once again proving if you can do it yourself, you should and save thousands over the life of your car.

This is a great place to service your vehicle. We've been going here for several years and have always been given a fair price for good work. Twice they have gone the extra mile in researching (PT cruiser and diesel truck) to service our vehicles.

Good and fair price, great work and I trust them. They tell it like it is and gets it done. I won't go anywhere else! Paul's is the place to go. Stephen, the owner (Paul's son) is a really nice guy. Nice receptionist and mechanics. I hadn't had work done in a while and Stephen wrote my old car on the key tag- so when I got my car back it said the make and model of my old car, a sedan- not the newer SUV I'm driving now. So- that means he remembered me and my car from a few years earlier!

I don't have anything to compare the service to, because this was my first mechanic experience (I've always had family do it for me). Given the make of my car, this problem needed some more expert attention. I was extremely nervous, was expecting a huge bill, and big surprises. The only surprise I got was the constant clear communication and the fact that my bill was about half as much as I was expecting, AND I was able to pick my car up the same day I dropped it off! I am so grateful for their hard work, and especially the communication before they did anything without my knowledge! On the drive home, I was in awe at how smooth and quiet my car was. Thank you for making my first mechanic experience a positive one!

Always have decent prices and don't really pressure you into any repairs or work unless your car is unsafe to drive otherwise. Had the Chevy dealership look at my Blazer and want to do my Oil Cooler Lines for $760. Paul's Automotive did it with OEM parts at $447.

total rip off sent there by a co worker who knew Steve the owner charged me 407$ for a 219$ list price part didn't roll the diagnostic fee into the labor cost cost me almost 700 dollars to replace my distributor. Replaced my spark plugs without consulting me at over 10 dollars each. I will never go back or refer anyone to go there

I absolutely love this place they will work with you on the price and they fix whats needed never looking for ways to make a quick buck. I just wish they were open on Saturdays my work hours are there business hours not very flexible with working around your schedule. But if your looking for a fair price good service Paul's the place to be:)

Honest & fair pricing. I don't know much about vehicles, let alone working on them, but Paul's Automotive makes me feel less ignorant. Paul's Automotive is a pleasant place to take your vehicles.

Brought my 88 dodge van for a tune up, alignment, belts and to have hoses replaced since they were original and one had blown out 2 weeks prior. They said my hoses looked fine. I looked at one of the heater hoses I was worried about that rubs on the heater itself and it had a large groove worn in it. They cracked slightly when squeezed. I brought it back and asked for them to change at least these hoses that I could clearly identify as bad (original 1988 old hoses) which they did at no charge. They said my valve cover gaskets were leaking and quoted several hundred to replace. Turned out it was the rubber seal around my oil fill tube in the valve cover that had deteriorated to mush and was leaking badly. $6 part, 5 minute install.I left for my trip hoping nothing else had been over looked.Day 2 of my trip I was checking my oil and looking at the belts which had begun to squeal (sometimes typical on new belts to need adjustment after break in) and I was shocked to see my alternator adjustment bolt was about to fall off. I removed the engine cover while I had time and saw that my spark plug wires had been installed wrong - The ones on the left toward the front of the engine were pulled very tight against my valve cover. I put them in proper order and snapped them into their factory plastic guides. The coil wire was not pressed all the way into the distributer cap which they also replaced (the one I had in there was only 2 years old so it was odd to me they replaced it with a cheap unit when it wasn't that old).I noticed that they left my old hose clamps on and let them slide down towards the engine. Sloppy. I fixed all these issues and set on my way.Later during a drive from El Paso to Tucson I noticed a noise in the front end when the brakes were applied.Driving in the city the noise got very bad. Loud clunking. We inspected what was going on and the wheel was traveling back in forth in the wheel well about 4 inches in either direction when the brakes were applied and moving. I removed the wheel and found my upper control arm bolts were loose by 1/4" each. I had this fixed under warranty at a shop in Tucson and they said both sides had not been torqued correctly which is why they came loose. This was an outsourced job as Paul's Automotive doesn't do alignments in house, but a similar issue to my alternator - poorly torqued bolts. If these bolts had come out completely or broken the whole wheel could have come off under hard breaking (like what happens on at highway speed with a full load, which we had, to avoid a traffic obstruction). The shop in Tucson also informed me the front end was not lubed when the alignment was done and that my left front wheel (not the one I had reinstalled) had loose lug nuts.I was furious that I was charged for sloppy work. Over $600 in total. The company that works with them for warranty work nationwide was very friendly and easy to deal with - I was able to find a competent technician to take care of my front end on a day's notice.Last failure of the trip my fuel pump went out. I had to replace this myself and was shocked again to find all of my vacuum lines to my carb and all of my fuel lines were cracked and falling apart. Squeezing them made flakes of hard rubber backed by squishy bits of rubber fall off and stick to your hand. MORE BAD HOSES.When I returned I spoke with the owner who refused any refund but offered $400 credit. My mechanic skills are modest but far better than the work I received at Paul s Automotive - why would I put myself at risk again by having them work on my vehicle again? The owner offered to do the work himself to put me at ease but since he would not tell me who did the previous work I have no reason to believe it wasn t him who failed on any of these points.I would suggest to never bring your vehicle here first for your safety and second being that the owner feels comfortable taking his customer s money and providing awful quality work.I will continue to do my own service work until I find an honest and competent mechanic.

We brought our family vehicle to Paul's Automotive to get our heater core fixed. After the vehicle was fixed supposedly we pick the vehicle up and had to return it shortly because the heater core went "foul". They told us we would need to wait weeks to get it back in???? Well i paid 1000+ shouldn't i be put ahead of your new jobs? So we wait. Once we take the car back and get a pick up date, when that day comes we get the run around for two three more days. Once the car is "fixed" again we pick it up it is the beginning of summer everything okay with A/C winter comes back and what do you kno! The heater core blowing water and steam up my windshield almost killing my girlfriend and kids who couldnt see on the freeway! So i call today and say hello this is the fella with the heater core issue do you remember who i am, yes of course she "Carly" replied. Well the heater core is doing the same thing it was doing the first two times i brought it to get serviced from you guys. And she replies that I won't be able to bring the car in until next week??? I am flabbergasted that they would even consider not putting my over 6 months ago job that they never did correct to the side for another week's worth of their income! Actually I'm outraged I wouldn't spend another dollar or would have wouldn't advise anyone else too they said call him back in 1 hour so that's what I'll do they also said I can call one of there insurance companies that they set up through O'Reilly and they can direct me elsewhere to get it fixed.... Are you kidding????????? So you might as well jump the gun and just go somewhere else that will actually fix your car in reasonable time and if they don't fix it correct the first time they would put it on the Fly at least and get your car back as soon as possible! I rate this place a 0 honestly

I ve taken several vehicles to Paul s to be fixed, and then within a month or two the vehicles broke down again with the same problem (one had the oil line problems 3 times and the other the fuel pump busted twice). I ll get charged for them to fix the shoddy work they originally did on my vehicles. The prices are low, but it gets expensive when you have to have it redone multiple times.

Took my Subaru Forester to Paul's a couple months ago for head gasket replacement. They did a great job and saved me almost $1000 compared to what the Subaru dealer wanted to charge me.

I don't have much money...so finding a reliable ( fairly priced) car mechanic had been difficult ....until I found Paul's.... Called to get a tune-up for my '92 ford van...and they helped me right away!!!!....AND at a great price, compared to quotes I had gotten locally!!....They had me in and out in one day!!....I will definitely use them for my future car needs!!!
