Paul is professional in a way that truly makes me feel safe and more knowledgeable of my car on my way out. He is extremely kind and makes what can be a difficult and stressful situation into a collaboration and much less scary. I can't imagine taking my car anywhere else and immediately told all my friends to take their volvo/subaru to this place! They say to find a mechanic you can trust, and that is here!

After my longtime mechanic in SE Portland retired and closed his shop, I had trouble finding a reputable Volvo mechanic. Someone recommended that I check out MVP Volvo, and I was so glad I did. Paul and his team have always been honest and fair with work I've had done. Since I live in Oregon City, it is a bit of a drive and is sometimes difficult to find someone to go with me to drop my car off for the day, so earlier this year I made the huge mistake of taking my car to a local shop for something relatively small.Unbelievably, that shop took my car out on a routine test drive and blew out the engine. I had not had problems with it being low on oil, no signs of leaking where it was parked, or anything. It turned into a gigantic nightmare trying to deal with this shop, who did not want to take any blame for what happened on their watch. As a single woman who has always kept my car well-maintained, this was a first for me and I felt completely out of my element dealing with the situation. Even though I was embarrassed that I was in this predicament because I hadn't taken my car to Paul in the first place, I decided to give him a call and see if he would be willing to give me any words of advice on how to handle this situation. I explained everything that happened and sheepishly told him this all happened because I didn't make the effort to take my car across town to him in the first place. He was incredibly kind and gave invaluable advice about how to negotiate with the other mechanic and how to look up engines available online when the mechanic was trying to charge me too much. Over the course of many phone calls and emails, Paul helped me navigate through this nightmare, which lasted for the better part of four months. After the new engine was installed, I took it straight to MVP to have Paul's team inspect everything and make sure it looked like things were done right. I learned my lesson the hard way. When you find an honest and fair mechanic, it doesn't matter if it's inconvenient and a long drive...you stick with that mechanic. I can't recommend Paul and MVP Volvo highly enough. Thank you, Paul and all the MVP crew!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Me and my sister both have taken our Volvos to this place for over 2 years now! I will never take my Volvo to any other shop now. My Volvo s60 T5 has never let me down since bringing it to this shop! Great service and honesty. I highly recommend MVP Volvo.

Absolutely wonderful in all aspects--from customer service, to skills/ service, to pricing. They are efficient and provide the highest quality of service, while maintaining complete transparency about findings and recommendations. I feel SO RELIEVED to have an auto shop I can fully trust. I know I'm in great hands, and would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone who's looking for the best of the best. I appreciate MVP immensely!

I've been going to MVP for a couple years now. I drive a 2000 Subaru so I always try to go to a specialist. These guys work on Volvo's and Subaru's. Paul the owner has always been accommodating to getting me in and out- and while there might be a couple organizational issues, there is a new receptionist that I think is squaring those away. I don't feel like they call for work that isn't necessary & would recommend anyone with a Volvo or Subaru to check MVP out.Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair

This auto shop is a gem found in Multnomah Village. I'm thoroughly impressed by the service and courtesy provided by Paul and his staff. What a great experience! MVP is one of the few remaining true auto repair shops. These guys are as honest and straight forward as you can find in the auto industry. I've been using them for years and regardless of whether the project is big or small they've always done a fantastic and reliable quality of work in a timely manner. A good mechanic is something to cherish, and owning a Volvo it makes it especially difficult to find one. For those looking for an honest place to bring your car, I'd recommend MVP without hesitation. I am absolutely delighted with them!

These guys are great. They replaced the head gaskets on my 09 Subaru. It s a big job with lots of things that can go wrong. Their work was perfect and they even cleaned that parts that weren t replaced. Robert was the mechanic and he did a great job. They have our business for life.

Paul and his guys are the best. Even when i call Paul will talk me through what it could be and sets a time to look at it. He is very honest about the seriousness of the problem and exactly what they will need to do. Just open and honest and helpful. Everything you hope for in a mechanic but rarely see. I appreciate there work so much and recommend all Volvo and Subaru owners go there for car maintenance and troubles!

We are a Volvo family and MVP is the only place we take our cars for service and repairs. Paul Erickson, the owner, goes the extra mile to make sure his customers are not only safe but satisfied. I have personally known him to leave the shop to rescue one of his clients regardless of the time of day or whether or not a call came in on the weekend. While waiting to speak with him, I've heard him counsel clients on what has been discovered while they were working on a car in terms of what needs repair right now, what is going to be an upcoming concern, and what would be less expensive to take care while another repair or service is happening. I recommend MVP to everyone I meet who has a Volvo, especially my women friends, because I know that they will be treated well and that they will be in the capable hands of techs who are honest and trustworthy and who will stand behind their work.

These guys are great. Very trustworthy. They won't try to sell you on unnecessary parts. The owner is very knowledgeable and the tech I met seemed to know what he was doing. 100% will always take my vehicles here from now on.

The BEST. Paul has been taking great care of my cars for 18 years. Everyone who works for him is an expert. I can t imagine him putting up with someone who wasn't. Not delivering the best would be like insulting himself. Total integrity and pride in his work. I completely rely on him.

Great experience at MVP Volvo. Had a flat tire, called, able to get in following morning, only took 30 minutes to fix. Paul, the owner, was easy to work with and honest. Highly recommend!

I have had my old 240 in several times and I want to like MVP. Great location, seem friendly, reasonable price quotes, But they have never actually repaired or diagnosed my car correctly when they had a chance.Once paid $80 for the wrong part, then paid $40 elsewhere to replace and repair with the correct part, I was quoted 750 to replace the clutch, but had the totally non-clutch related problem solved elsewhere for about $100.Maybe if they keep practicing on YOUR cars they will get better at diagnosing MY cars

Been taking my two 240s to MVP for two years now and they've never run better. I couldn't be happier with the two larger asks Paul helped facilitate, a transmission rebuild and suspension repair. Great to have an expert Volvo mechanic in the area that keeps these beauties on the road and running great. Thanks for all the great work!

The folks at this shop are super helpful! Had an ABS light on and some erratic behavior from my XC70 brake system. Took it in and found out a bolt had came loose, likely after we drove some rough backcountry roads. Same thing they speculated was wrong when we talked on the phone. They gave me a replacement and sent me home without a bill. ABS light is fixed! Nice to have a shop you can trust who really knows their stuff

Three years ago, I needed to replace my water pump and timing belt on my volvo s60 and found mvp to have the best price. Since then, I have taken my car there for all maintenance and repairs and found their service to be quick and their prices to be fair. But last week I have to say that they were amazing! My water pump went out (due to a faulty part). My valves on my engine were bent-my car was toast. MVP completely stepped up, acknowledged the faulty part, and took care of me. While my car underwent $3000 worth of repairs, for which I paid nothing, I was set up with a free loaner car. My car was returned washed and in better shape than ever. While they were under the hood, they went ahead and replaced rusty and worn parts for me. I would recommend MVP to anyone who drives a Volvo. They are awesome!

The guys at MVP Volvo helped me settle a dispute with the dealership I had purchased my XC90 from. A few weeks after I had driven it off of the lot, the driveshaft started to rattle and after I had taken it back to the dealership several times they were telling me there was nothing wrong. I then took it to the professionals here at MVP and they not only confirmed my own findings with the driveshaft but they also let me know that there was a bearing that needed replaced as well. They advocated for me and helped the original dealership understand what needed to be replaced and they communicated with my warranty people. Although the original dealership insisted that they do the repairs after the fact, I will never forget what the family over at MVP had done for me. Thank you so much.

I have been taking my car to MVP for the past couple of years and I have found them to be excellent. I am startled to read the one negative review in which the reviewer states that Paul and staff don't call or that the staff at the shop performed work without authorization...that certainly hasn't been my experience. I have found everyone at the shop to be extremely conscientious and communicative. Prior to finding MVP, I took my car to another shop on the east side of town and I can tell you that MVP is also very reasonable. I highly recommend this shop...they have definitely gone above and beyond for me!!!

Paul and his team are fantastic. He was able to save me money compared to Les Schwab. Paul found me more savings after the initial quote by sourcing his parts wisely. He even gave me a ride to work! I can t recommend MVP Inc more. You and your wallet will not be sorry. Thanks Paul!!

Paul is my hero and his team is amazing! No joke. Paul goes above and beyond to help me out every single time I'm in a bind. He personally ran around town to help me out when my car was stuck in my garage with a dead battery and came to my house to help me out. Today he came to my rescue again and even gave me a loaner while he got to the root of a funny problem where my XC90 wouldn't start. Figured it out and sent me on my way quickly - not to mention he saved me a fortune. Paul and his crew are honest, hardworking, and super friendly. I won't ever take my car anyplace else. THANK YOU, PAUL!!

I've owned a number of Volvo's in my life and currently own two.My relationship with MVP began about 15 years ago. I was new to the area, didn't know anyone, and it was a wet and cold Friday evening (about 5:45pm) when my 1992 240's engine died. I called MVP and Paul, the owner, came immediately. If he had told me my car had to be towed and needed a new engine, I wouldn't have known the difference and spent buckets of cash. But all my car needed was a new fuse. I've been an MVP devotee ever since. I no longer live close to the shop, but I'll drive 40 miles round trip to have MVP work on my cars!!! Need I say more?

MVP is simply the best in the business! paul is polite, clear, and always has a smile. it feels great being a customer. paul is dedicated to providing premium car care to the community. when i moved to california, paul still made the effort to look after my volvo and even repaired it over a weekend he was visiting his daughter nearby. i would like to commend him on the outstanding way i was treated when he arranged for me to drive a rental car while my car was being fixed. i had some issues with my volvo and with nothing more than basic car knowledge, that is nerve wracking. my 98 volvo is honestly my favorite car i have ever owned. i appreciate the way MVP takes the time to explain things. the people working there are really cool and i highly recommend talking to them about your volvo needs. paul and his team are professional, dependable and are straight to the point about the condition of my car. paul is more than just a business proprietor- he is passionate about doing excellent work for a fair price and standing behind the work he and his mechanics do! i cant thank paul enough. MVP VOLVO is the best place i have found for auto care. i couldn't imagine taking my car anywhere else.

So I was in Portland for the weekend, staying in Camas, planning to leave Monday morning. On the way back to the hotel Sunday afternoon my '93 240 lost the fan belt. After getting towed the rest of the way to Camas I googled "Volvo specialist in Portland" (I knew there'd be more than one), read the reviews & ordered them as to who I'd call first. All I was really hoping for was a shop to squeeze me in so I could be back on the road that day. 8:01am Monday I called MVP & explained my situation. "Bring it", says Paul, "that's easy." I said thanks & called AAA again. The next part you just couldn't make up: Don met me at the back door & 30 seconds after the tow truck disconnected he had the car in the shop. Seriously. Paul offered me coffee. I was back on the road sooner than I had any right to expect for less money than I figured I'd pay. Portland, you've got gold here.John Vinson

This a criminal auto shop don't ever go here, their diagnostic is just bad and dont know what they're doing. I came here to get my car repaired, and not damaged any further. But what I got is an even more damaged car than before I came into this shop. They are thief's in every true sense of the word. Please dont ever bring your car here. My car was better off before they worked on it.

This place is the real deal. You won t meet a more hardworking hands on owner than Paul. He has a way of explaining things to people who don t know cars that makes sense. I ve gone here for 4 years. Two years ago I moved a half hour away but I still go out of my way to come here for my 2008 XC90. This shop has integrity.
