I'm fairly new to Portland and fortunately haven't needed a mechanic until recently. I found a major leak in my 2021 Jeep Cherokee and Metro Auto Care just happened to be the closest shop near me at the time. Kirk the owner quickly diagnosed the problem which would require all my hoses to be replaced along with some other work that needed to be done. Kirk was told that it would likely take up to two months in order to obtain some of the replacement parts. He didn't like that answer and used his connections to obtain them much faster. He also let me use one of his loaners at no charge while my Jeep was in the shop. I have never been offered that by any other mechanic and it ended up saving me a lot of money and heartache while it was being worked on. Kirk is a local to the area and has the respect of his neighbors and customers. He kept me updated throughout the process and there were no surprises when the bill came. The price he quoted me in the beginning is what I ended up paying when I picked it up even though the job required more work than what was originally anticipated. I am completely blown away by how well he treated me as a customer and if you take the time to read all their reviews you can tell that he treats everyone the same way. I'm not sure how I got so lucky to find Metro Auto Care but I'm so thankful I did.

It just occurred to me today, that I have never left a review for Metro Car Care! And they are one of my favorite small businesses around here! I am so, so appreciative of the service I have gotten here over the last 4 years. They have always been so professional, fair, and honest with me. When I first came to them I was under the impression from another business that my car needed to have something changed on it. Kirk looked at my car and then told me well, I could change that out for you, but your car really doesn t need it and I would just be wasting your money! So I don t recommend that! They totally could have taken advantage of me if they had wanted to. I have always felt like any repairs were well explained to me, and the charges very reasonable. I have a 2006 Toyota Camry at 260K miles and they have been so helpful in keeping the car maintained and helping me sort through which repairs are actually needed to keep my old car running as long as possible without costing a ton. Thank you guys!

Said I needed new brakes, new belts, replace bearings, new CV joint. Almost 3K for the work estimate. I got another shop to give me a second opinion. Thankfully. Brakes are in absolutely perfect working order and the belts are fine, no cracks or need to replace. Good original bearings still working fine, no need to replace with lesser quality ones they make now. I also asked them to look at a tire that was losing air. They told me it was sidewall damage. No that was not causing the leak. There was a nail lodged in the tread. Right there in the middle of the tire. They couldn t take a minute to look at the tire? I m really disappointed with Metro because I ve used them many times. I m glad I didn t spend thousands of bucks on an older car. I have very limited income and it would have hurt me a lot to pay this, esp for unnecessary services.To reply to your question, it s your shop. I talked to you. My car is a 2001 CRV Honda.

Had an excellent experience with Phil at Metro Car Care.I took my camaro in because I suspected the rear differential was going out, and the right rear tire pressure sensor would not turn off. I'd also added a note asking them to check a vibration/rattle in the front that has been happening for year. (I'd take it to Chevy multiple times and they could not figure it out and I was eventually told to bring it back when something actually broke).The guys at Metro Car Care confirmed the rear differential, figured out the issue with the tire pressure sensor, AND also figured out the front end vibration/rattle (it's the engine mount dampener is going bad).The downside is that they don't have ability to fix the rear differential, and said they didn't feel comfortable doing the engine mount dampener. I was recommended to go to a transmission shop for those things, and Phil even went as far as to call ahead to make sure that transmission place could do the work.It's rare to find a shop that won't take advantage of you, especially if you're a woman. I will absolutely be taking my car back to them for any needed repairs.

Exceptional customer service. I had Metro Car Care Tire Pros do a lot of work on my car and it drives 100x better now. Have patience and they will take very good care of your vehicle, and they could even save you money too.

Metro Car Care is my go-to. The staff is honest, they clearly explain what their findings are, and their advice and performance has been outstanding. We've taken older cars and newer cars to them. It just comes down to trusting them.

What can I say I ve been coming for years and Kirk the owner is always helpful but today surprised me. Just needed a change over to winter tires but it was freezing they will if they can sometimes drive you home within reason; instead he let me use a work car to drive myself. I am only a mile away. Kirk and the service team has just been great and if you are looking for a local service shop look no further. Metro does great work BTW.

Well, the check engine light came on in my car and if you're reading this chance are you are in the same boat and you're looking for someone near you that will take care of your car and charge you a fair price. Heck, you even may have just moved nearby and your looking for "the one", the elusive mechanic who understands the cost of car troubles and would rather take care of you as a customer than make a quick buck. If that's what you want, that's what you've just found. Metro Car Care Tire Pros was able to get me in the same week and took care of my problem within a few hours. I was expecting to leave my car there for a day or two as it was Friday, but they knocked it out no problem and the charge was fair. They came recommend to me by a close friend, and here I am to do the same for you. If you need a good mechanic, take it here. They'll treat you right, fix your car, and wont over charge you. I mean, what more can you ask for?

Kirk the owner helped me find the right tires for my truck. I tow a trailer and also head to the mountains for fun often and wanted a 10 ply tire with lots of grip for snow. Kirk directed me to the perfect set. I am very pleased with the interaction and work provided by Metro Car care. I also have used them in the past for repairs on my company vans. In the past, I've been overcharged and taken advantage of at auto repair shops because of my lack of knowledge about cars. Because of these experiences, I'm always hesitant when taking my car to a new mechanic. I got a recommendation from a long time friend to take my car here and I was not disappointed. Kirk is incredibly honest and genuinely cares about his customers. I was 100% satisfied with the auto services he provided and will be a customer for life. Kirk and his crew at Metro car care are simply the best. I was recommended to Kirk a couple of years ago by a friend and haven't been anywhere else. A good mechanic is hard to find, one that communicates as effectively and respectfully to everyone, staff included. I have recommended several of my clients to him as he is as honest as they come. Everyone at Metro Care Car are amazing! They are so nice and very helpful with everything. I came in with an issue I stated that I brought to another place and they checked it out. They confirmed the issue and quoted me $700 less than the other place! Wow! Highly recommended!

My fiance got a screw in a tire, and I filled it with air so that she could safely drive to work. She mentioned that she got the tires from here so we took it in to get it repaired. After $20 dollars, and a half hour we drove off, and continued with normal business as usual.One week later I found that the tire was flat again. The screw was not removed, and it was in the exact same place as before. We brought it in to get it repaired properly. They claimed that she must have picked up a different screw (in the same tire, and the same spot on the tire). They claimed that it was in "the side wall" of the tire, and therefore could not be repaired. She would have to pay $70 dollars to get a replacement tire. We did because the car was worth more then the value of the tire.I can get tires elsewhere. What is the core value of a business is their customer service (because the same products and services can easily be purchased elsewhere). Don't trust a company that lies to their customers, and then takes money for services not provided. This is one of those businesses.Service: Tires

Metro Car Care is the perfect mix of local shop with integrity and quality repair being of the highest standard. Kirk is the owner and he's there everyday. The team is small but they do amazing work and I always trust them with any of my maintenance needs. Before cringing and throwing money at the dealership make sure to pay him a visit!

We decided to bring our car in for AC repair since our GMC Yukon stopped blowing cold air. They took us in same day and were done by mid day. The price was fair and the service was great. This owner is kind and knowledgeable. He is a GMC owner himself and has all the tools to work on the cars. He truly wants to help the customer. Been back for additional work and have left feeling confident the mechanics did their job and I was charged fairly. If you want a reliable neighborhood mechanic, this is your place!

Metro Car Care was recommended to me by my Volvo mechanic for steering alignment and wheel balancing work. Very pleased with the quality and charges for labor. The most helpful part: Since I live nearby, the offered to pick me up both ways since I had to rush back to my remote office at home... that was super helpful. Bianca and Kurt were extremely helpful when my Nissan broke down unexpectedly. They did a great job of explaining the problem and the best route for repairs (I'm not a gear head). Both of them understood my urgent situation and got my vehicle in-and-out within a day - even when their lot was full. I will be back again soon for tires. By far the best mechanic experience I have ever had. Thank you again!

Our mechanic told us to go to Costco for tires but I could not deal with the hassle and we were on a time crunch. I called this shop because they had good reviews and were local They did a great job choosing tires for us during supply issues. I was even given clearance by a trooper at the chains/traction tires required station that I did not have to put my chains on thanks to great tire choice!Service: Tires

I came in with radiator issues around noon and met with Phil. He took a look at it and said he could have it fixed by 5. He gave me a call at 3 to tell me he had finished. I initially was expecting it to take all day. He exceeded my expectations. I had a damaged tire, recently purchased out of state, but under a TirePro warranty. Metro Car Care is part of the Tire Pro network, and was recommended to me by the Tire Pro 800# representative. Despite the fact that it was the day before Thanksgiving, and really crazy busy, Kevin and his crew found a way to get me in and get my tire replaced. He handled connecting with the Tire Pro warranty folks, and the dealer I had purchased from out of state. By the end of the day, I had a new tire and was ready to go. My family has been going to Metro Car Care for nearly 10 years and we have always been satisfied with the service. They do their repairs well, their prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly.My best experience with them have been with pre-sale inspections. They have thoroughly inspected every car I have brought them and told me point blank when I should not buy a car. They have even done this when the person trying to sell me the car is another customer of theirs.

After getting an oil change at a big box place, they told us our radiator needed to be flushed. They tried scare tactics to get us to pay them over $150 to do the flush. We declined at the time, thankfully. Sitting in the Starbucks parking lot I saw Kirk's sign saying "Is your car spring ready" and decided to call for a quote. He had us bring the car over and took a look. He showed us the radiator fluid and said "See this color? It's great and you need to go somewhere else for servicing. " His honesty, attention to show us what he's seeing and never trying to pushing his own shop was shocking (in the most positive of ways). If you need an honest, blunt and educated quote or work done GO SEE KIRK!
