Les Schwab (downtown location) forgot to install a lug nut on the front wheel of my 2019 Golf R. This is a vehicle that will be used on a track this year and a wheel falling off could have killed someone. Fortunately, I discovered the missing lug nut, but only after washing the car- several weeks later. I'm unsure how this could be forgotten at a facility that specializes on wheels and tires. Les Schwab also overcharged me for the tires, which obviously less of an issue compared with a missing lug nut. I paid $1909.56, where Costco ($1211.96) and Tire Rack ($1103.96) quote for the identical tire. The model of tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Paying almost double what the competition is quoting for the same tires, I would have expected higher quality service. They replaced the lug nut after having to bring the car back. Fortunately, there is no obvious damage and nobody was injured, but I will not be returning to this facility.

Excellent service and speedy turnaround times. This is my go-to tire place! They were very helpful in choosing oversized A/T tires for my rig, even if they did steer me towards their house brand (Backcountry A/T 2).They've always made things right, even when they infrequently make a mistake (I have a lot of custom modifications and self-fabrications on my rig, so it's partly my own fault).Tire costs are slightly higher than discount shops, but that's because so many free perks are included (like lifetime tire rotation, flat repair, and air pressure checks/fills). Alignments here are pricey (my only real complaint), so I purchased lifetime alignments at a different shop. Also, if you're a die-hard offroader, be aware that the Backcountry A/T2 could use some more reinforcement on the sidewalls. Great for Subarus/Rav4s/CR-Vs/crossovers, but not so great for Jeeps/Broncos/Tacomas.

There is a huge issue with this location and their communication amongst their team. Not only do I often have tire caps missing after my visit, there is a huge discrepancy on the status of my vehicle each visit. I had brakes and calipers replaced in Dec 2022, and by Feb 2024, I'm told only my back brakes were replaced. I paid for all four. When I expressed my dismay, I get the basic run down of Les Schwab being number one in warranty, etc etc. Since I began at this location in Feb 2021, I am constantly told different levels of my brake and tire life. One visit, my brakes and tires may be awful, and then the next, they are "fine". Nonetheless, I am expected to trust the "experts". I replaced my front brakes, for the second time (should have been replaced Dec 2022), and replaced my tires. The front left tire and back right were at 33 PSI, while my Front right and Back left were at 41 PSI. I call to ask why and my response is "different people probably worked on each tire". Is that supposed to be a valid excuse? This effects my safety, and the safety on my vehicle. I am not happy with this location, would not recommend them, and will be taking my vehicle elsewhere for a full inspection to ensure what I paid for was actually done.

Always always take your car to Les Schwab for anything dealing with all components for your wheels, front end, etc. My GM dealership I regularly service my truck at (for a premium too but they re supposed to be the expert on the manufacturer and repair of its parts) had three tries to get my alignment right and fix the most irritating noise coming from my front end. Three tries and they never got it right after keeping my truck for days! So much time, hassle, and money and it looks they really never even looked at the noise because it was just some loose screws!! Dealership was saying around $1,100 to replace the control arms that turn wheels. The very knowledgeable and understanding technician at Schwab tightened the screws for FREE, finally got my alignment right THE FIRST TIME and saved me a ton of money! No more noise or going crazy!! Btw, they fixed a flat for free once before too and always do great work on brakes at the best price. Few businesses out there left like this. Just good decent people across all locations doing hard honest work at a fair price. F the dealership!

Had a great experience when my car had a nail in one of the back tires. End of day, I was stressed about getting it fixed. The staff was friendly from the moment I walked in, gave me several options to fix the problem and within two hours problem solved! I would highly recommend, AND they have free and delicious popcorn in their waiting area !

I called and asked for help three weeks ago. I've given them plenty of time to redeem the poor service given. Never called back once.To start I called for help on my account. They tell me she is on lunch for 30 minutes she will call me back. 2.5 hours go by. So I call back. His name was Jeff and hers "D".I asked for help with my account.I say hey I was supposed to get a call back about my account. I have question how to pay and view. They both passed me back and forth telling me they were to busy to help. And don't know how right this second. Finally I take the Loss expecting them to call me back. Days go by. I call another les schwab (which I now go to because of their service prior to this convo).Instantly in 5 minutes she tells me how to activate my account and how to view my own balances and check my statements. Then asks if I need service after helping me with questions. No matter what happened. You were not to busy to answer the phone. So why were you to busy to answer my question???Rude personnel and rude service.I will now always drive farther to get my tires done and will never send a friend their way.

A good review that is deserved and earned is often overlooked in my honest opinion. I wanted to take a quick pause on Christmas Eve and send a shout out to Les Schwab for really stepping up to the plate, even when they should have and could have fairly turned me away. 4:04 PM on December 23, I walk in the door having just discovered a BOLT in my tire. UGH, it's the holiday and I need to travel on Christmas Eve. I was checked in by a slightly annoyed employee, but I hold nothing against them, I would have been too. I explained my situation and very clearly told them they could turn me away, as I know their staff would want to be home on time the evening before Christmas Eve. Nonetheless offering to turn me away, they took my fob and advised it could take up to an hour but they'd see what they could do.Alas, 35 minutes later I'm called to the desk. Greeting heartily by Logan, he THANKED me for choosing Les Schwab, handed me my fob and sent me on my way. Mind you, it is now 4:45 PM on December 23, they have a PACKED waiting room of less than savory patrons demanding and being rather rude. They have a full staff working tirelessly, despite being 15 minutes prior to closing the day before Christmas Eve... I get a smile, a "thank you", and a express service to get me back on the road.Les Schwab, read this and give Logan the praise he deserves for such service. This guy is solid and knows how to do customer service right. Hold onto him! He's a gem.... THANK YOU LOGAN!

This location blows.I dropped in for a seasonal tire changeover and they quoted me a 6 hr wait. That is with no line and only 4 cars in the parking lot. Are they so seriously short staffed? It took me 45 min to get the same thing done in Beaverton.

They are always fast and give good service. I keep coming back for all my tire needs after years and years. They really are so much better than any other Les Schwab on the area.

Absolutely the best shop in nw PDX to get tires but also great for brakes and suspension. So much better than the dealerships in our area. Honest , fair prices without the oversell .

Tried to stop by on a Wednesday afternoon with no luck; I would have had to leave my car overnight for a battery change. Customer service wasn't as friendly here as in other places from my experience, perhaps because they were busier than usual and maybe stressed. There are other Les Schwab Tire Centers relatively close by that I would rather go to.

Wow!!! What can I not say about this place. Got there early with no appointment with my car that was flat. Before I could get out the car the best quality customer service started. As soon as I got in they explained the wait which was cool. Everyone in there was nice and polite. The popcorn they had there was even great. Clean place and spot on with everything. Definitely a place I would suggest going to. They know their work well. I left confident about their work from the quality customer service they served. Kudos to the whole team here.

Poor customer service .a symptom of being too busy I guess. Messed up a $2K order, made it right eventually, but I had to do the work. Not recommended they are a victim of their own success.

The manager Chris and his crew are well organized and can find a great deal for what ever you're looking for. They where very personable and responsive to what I was looking for with my Toyota 4runner.

Love this place, great customer service.Edit: been coming here for ever, but have been let down by pricing and quality lately.Pricing: needed brake pad changes and a Les Schwab employee admitted their wholesale pricing they buy at is higher than online retail pricing. How's a corporate company allow that?Quality: last pair of tires didn't make it to HALF their warranty mileage. Warranty mileage is supposed to be redundant. Remember folks, rotate every 3-5k miles, otherwise your warranty is void.

Years of outstanding service! Thank you Les Schwab!! We came to be life time Les Schwabers after my car light went on alerting me to something being wrong with the tire. I pulled up with a toddler and an infant right to the service decks. I did not have purchased tires from their store nor an appointment. I had sleeping children and they came right up to the window and asked how they could help. They immediately got me in the cue and helped by letting me stay in the car with my kids until the very last minute before they had to take my car in.They got to me quickly and came out with a smile and my keys. They let me know that I had not one but two nails in my tire. They were able to patch it and no need to buy new tires. I asked how much?No need to pay us. We were happy to help. Please keep us in mind when you need to buy new tires. The kindness shown to me was beyond appreciated.I have been buying tires there ever since. I have been to many Les Schwab locations and what I find isConsistency!I have had the same great experience no matter what shop I have been to.They help me make great decisions on what kind of tires to buy for my specific needs and price range. They stand behind their service and products.Free WiFi, ample seating and tables if you need while waiting, popcorn, coffee, cocoa!Free Brake Checks and Free Brake Estimates! They service Brakes, Alignments, and Suspensions so keep them in mind.Thank you for keeping my family safe!

So the 5 stars is only because after being told it was going to be 3 hours to get a screw out of my tire, I pulled into the customer lot and proceeded to change my own tire. As I was about half way done a employee came and asked if I needed help, his name was Bryce. He got the tire put back on, took me over to torque the lugs and check the pressure of the spare. Thanks Bryce, I hope they give you a raise!

Yes, parking can present a problem at this location but, Les Schwab is definitely a good place to get tires. Service is always top notch even if at times there is a long wait. There is always free popcorn. They always look for potential problems and offer a price range of solutions. A good company.

Had a flat tire and took it in here. They were quick to identify that my tire was irreparably damaged and put my spare on for me.When they initially called to tell me my tire needed replacing they told me that I would also need to replace all four tires because my car is AWD and quoted me $1200 for it. My tires were a year old at this point and I have not driven enough to significantly reduce the tread to warrant four new tires. The guy also said I can t drive more that 30mph on my spare when the spare max is 50mph. Ended up going to the original place I purchased my tires to get the one replaced, they agreed that it was unnecessary to replace all four.

Had a flat in a rental car down in east bay CA. Tossed on the doughnut and found a Les Schwab nearby. Being from the midwest this was my first time dealing with them. They came out and took the tire right away, plugged the hole then put it back on, no charge. Now here I am back in Portland 5 years layer and same exact thing. Fixed a tire puncture, free of charge. Across two states I got the same consistent service and all for no charge. Really impressive and always friendly. Thank you.

My daughter lives in Portland has has went to this location 2 weeks in a row on Saturday, because she doesn't get off work until after 6 the other days. She needs her tire fixed it keeps losing air. She was there before 2 both days and turned ways since she didn't have appointment. It wasn't like the lot was full or even the bays. I can't believe they couldn't fix a low tire without an appointment. I have never had a problem with any other Les Schwab and our family, starting with my parents, has been customers for over 40 years. I hope this is not becoming a trend.

I got a giant nail in my tire and was super worried about it (I'm still processing some PTSD from a car accident earlier this year that wasn't my fault, and didn't want to risk a popped tire on the freeway) so I wanted to get it addressed same day. I called or visited 3-4 other shops, including personally visiting a Jiffy Lube on SE Hawthorne, and calling a Les Schwab on NE Sandy. The Jiffy Lube outright told me it was "nonrepairable" and I had to replace entirely - $250 cost but they also said they couldn't get me in until late afternoon; and then the Les Schwab on NE Sandy was simply put, rude on the phone, because I asked if there was drop in availability and the guy on the phone was audibly irritated because they're already backed up from their appts, and I was a drop in. (Why take it out on me?) There's a million ways to communicate - as the saying goes, it costs nothing to be nice. And that goes both ways.Cue the Les Schwab on NW 19th - I call, and was met with Hannah who said they would happily take a look, with no promises on how much it could cost and so forth until they look, but that I could get it looked at as soon as I arrived. Honest, direct, NICE - no overpromises, no overselling either. I show up and met with Chris, and showed photos of the tire, and he said that it looked super easy and my car should be in and out. But he didn't mention replacement, and since the other Jiffy Lube said it needed replacing, I was already anticipating I'd have to do a replacement. I was so stressed about the cost (Jiffy Lube quoted me $250 for replacement + service). When the car was complete (in 30mins!) I do my check out, and notice they don't bill me. I was confused. They proceed to tell me it didn't actually need replacing! So clearly - Jiffy Lube lied. It makes me sad because car servicers already have a bad rep (people alway say they "will always upsell you", they over charge etc) so why do people continue to lie? It's a real shame.Anyway. THANK YOU Hannah and Chris, for being simply honest people and a pleasure to work with. Seriously made me feel taken care of. Give them your business!!

I had a great experience working with Chris to replace the tires on my Subaru after getting a flat. Thank you Chris for all the help and guidance with the tires. Chris was knowledgable, helpful and patient with me as I tried to figure out which option was best. Thank you for taking the time to explain and explore options with me. I saw how busy you were yet you didn t make me feel rushed or pressured into anything. The tires are working out great!

les Schwab lied to me to make a sale!I went in recently for a nail in my tire. They said it was not repairable because the nail was on the side. Of course the cheapest tire is $230.00 unless I wait a week for the other one to arrive (that's a whole other scam). Anyway, I decided to go somewhere else, where they checked the tire in front of me and the nail was in the center of the tire. They only charged me $20 to fix it. So disappointed with Les Schwab and will NEVER go back.

I ve gotten a few nails over the last couple of years in my tires. I have always taken it to les Schwab to get it fixed even though I did not buy the tires here they never ever charged me for the repair. I always said to myself the next time I need tires I will get them here for that reason. Well the time came I needed tires desperately, and I m sure on one of thier most busiest days (snow day tomorrow) they were able to get me in for new tires. They said they would have it done next day which was fine with me, but they had it done by the end of the same day which was beyond incredible, and unexpected. The best tire shop with amazing service.

This is my 2nd time receiving service at Les Schwab, and the first time they had already closed, but the mechanics were still working and they were kind enough to fill my tires w/ air, This time I actually had a flat. I arrived this morning at 10ish and got a text by 12 saying "My vehicle is ready for pickup!" I was not sure what it was going to cost, or how long, but I was presently surprised at how easy and quick the service was. I highly recommend Les Schwab for all your tire needs! I will definitely return when I need my brakes and alignment adjusted!P.S. They have a pop corn maker! You get old-school pop corn while you wait = ) SO nostalgic! THANK YOU LES SCHWAB !!
