Fast friendly service. They were available for a tire repair instantly when everyone eles turned me away. Little pricey but worth every penny because getting my vehicle serviced efficiently fast and friendly is WORTH IT. DEFINITELY returning to Gary's Auto Care!!!!

Have had nothing but positive experiences at this shop. I never feel upsold and the prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly and the one time I had a problem with some tires that did not last anything like their promised mileage, Gary s stood behind me as a customer and had the manufacturer honor the warranty.

I am so thankful for Kim and the staff at Gary s. I called in a panic when my car wouldn t start. They were able to resolve the issue with my key fob the same day. Excellent communication, reasonable prices, and top notch service. I highly recommend.

I found myself in need of a new battery on Monday. Thankfully Gary s was able to not only order the battery quickly but they took me back home so I could wait it out comfortably. They even picked me back up once my car was done. Excellent front office staff. 10/10 recommend!

Excellent service, they were able to identify the root of the issue I was having and didn't pressure me into any additional services, just did exactly what was needed to get the car working. Kim was so nice and helpful at every step and the mechanics must have performed some kind of miracle because my car has never run better. Thank you!

These folks are great to work with, always can fit us in quickly (often same day), and have twice now done minor fixes for free, refusing even a tip. We trust them to work on our vehicles, old and new.

Easy to call them over the phone. Garys was quick to help me get my car back to me. I told them the problem, they confirmed what it was (axle), explained it and then ordered parts and fixed it. Thank you!

Gary's Auto on NE Columbia in Portland did a great job with our Kona. We had a problem that needed immediate attention and our dealer offered an appt. six weeks away. Gary's was able to fit us in for next day, did a very thorough diagnostic review, defined the immediate problem and found two other small things needing attention. Great communication, Kim! My 17 year old, 200,000 mile+ car wouldn t start. Gary s got me in and running in record time! It is where we had previously taken my kiddo s 19 year old truck. I would highly recommend!

Woke up to two flat tires and had my tow truck Bring my car here. I ve never used their services before but everybody was super friendly and I was able to get last-minute care. I would definitely use them again if I had an issue.

My dad Gary asked me to post a review because he doesn't "use the Google", but wanted people to know his experience.My parents were visiting from out of state and realized their tire had a nail in it. They stopped in at Gary's to see if they could have it removed and air filled or if they would have to replace it.They were told by the employee (up front) that if it punctured the sidewall, that it would have to be replaced. Luckily the nail bent and entered in such a way that they didn't have to replace it, to their relief. Gary's wouldn't accept any money for the "repair". My dad was very impressed with the service, honesty, friendliness and professionalism.Service: Tires

The team at Gary's did a great job, as usual, replacing my oil and filter and inspecting the other systems on my car. They are always very friendly and easy to work with, I've had several different kinds of work done there. Kim was especially helpful this time, and the service was quick and thorough. I live near the Canadian border in WA state, but found a car in Portland that I wanted to move forward with purchasing. I always do a pre-purchase inspection when buying a used car, and it's always hard knowing who is a reliable shop when you can't vet them in person and live well out of the area. Based on reviews, Gary's seemed like an excellent choice. I'm so grateful I chose this shop! Not only were they able to get the car in quickly, they went above and beyond with the inspection, including a compression test on the engine (Subaru) and looking at a couple specifics I requested be checked. Communication was excellent throughout, including a reschedule due to the snow storm that hit end of Feb. If I lived in the Vancouver/Portland area, I wouldn't hesitate bringing my car here for service. Highly recommended!Service: Vehicle safety inspection

'07 Lincoln. Call Monday, dropped car off Tuesday, fixed ON TIME & done on Wednesday. Very personable staff & top notch owner who took the time to explain the process. Even showed me his setup. Explained the diagnostic process they use, & although I've turned wrenches since '69, they promised me they'd be thorough and fix the issue to my satisfaction. And...wait for it...they DID. Car fuel system worked perfectly and no issues noted. Brought the car around, went over the bill, and I couldn't be more pleased. A very nice experience to be sure.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I have gone to Gary s Auto multiple times for car maintenance needs and have enjoyed my experience every time. They have fantastic communication with me about my car needs and scheduling. The price is reasonably mid priced for labor and car maintenance, and that is because they are ensuring a good job! I have never encountered issues with my car following their services. I'm so glad I found this place! I recently moved to the neighborhood and really needed an oil change. They were able to get me in the next morning, were super friendly, and even gave me a ride back home after I brought my car in! My shift link cable broke and Logan was awesome. He was able to get my Trailblazer towed to the shop and they got it replaced and took apart my middle console and had to clean up all the years of gunk and crud that had built up along the automatic shifter area. The bill was a little more than I expected but they were great about helping me get financing and had me back on the road in two days. I would suggest anyone looking for a good friendly shop definitely use Gary's. They are very easy to get to, they are right next to the McDonald's on Columbia and MLK in Portland. If I could give them 6 stars I would.Andrew Williams

These folks have helped me out on multiple occasions and I cannot recommend them strongly enough. I feel incredibly lucky that I live so close to such a trustworthy family-owned shop. It is so hard to find an auto shop where people know what they're doing, and can be trusted to fixing things right the first time, or tell you that they can't. Pricing is always more than fair. Every time I have left that place I have felt like they aren't charging enough. They're friendly and polite on the phone and in person (unusual in my experience). And they happen to be only a mile from my house, so I can drop off and walk home, walk over and drive home. It is the auto shop of my dreams.

I called Kim, she was able to get me in right away. Previous business I went to stripped my terminal on my battery, Travis was able to look at it and gave me advice on how to get it fixed. As I was sitting in the lobby everyone was so friendly, I was asked by multiple people if I needed anything. I watched Jeff interact with his employees, if everyone treated their employees the way he does, people would be more willing to go to work. Thanks for a great experience!
