A couple of years back, my old ICE vehicle died. I bought a gently used 2017 Leaf with the idea of upgrading it. Well, it took me another couple of years, but I finally did it back in January. EV Rides hooked me up with a 62kWh pack that's almost like new! I knew what I was getting into originally, but with the upgrade, it's like night and day. Driving around town, I only charge once a week now, and road tripping is actually practical again.Kudos to these guys providing a valuable service while new EV's are still quite expensive. I have a slick, functional car for way less. My service is backed by a warranty. The whole process was relatively painless, transport from Seattle was arranged, and I was kept well in the loop on the steps and progress. Happy customer over here.

Guillermo and Anton were so great to work with! Very easy to communicate via Text and Phone. They gave us a great deal and worked seamlessly with the government rebates and vouchers. They have kept in touch to make sure we were satisfied. I am sending all my friends their way!

These guys really know what they're doing. I just bought a Nissan LEAF from them and couldn't be happier. They are not like other dealerships that try to sell you things you don't need. They are passionate about EVs and are extremely professional in every way. Great cars at great prices and you know they put thought and care into every vehicle. Guillermo was very considerate with us and we knew that we were making the right choice buying from EV Rides. I know this car will be reliable and I feel much safer in it than a gas car! They are extremely knowledgeable, even showing us Leafspy, an app that connects to the car's computer that shows all sorts of information that the car doesn't show by itself. Charging cable was provided, as well as the OBDII dongle accessory for the app. If you're looking for a reliable refurbished/used EV, they are the place to go.

After months of lurking in online Nissan LEAF forums, reading customer reviews, and watching YouTube videos about the LEAF, I noticed that EV Rides was highly recommended numerous times. I made an appointment and test drove a LEAF with Guillermo. He was patient, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. In spite of the showroom and office not being much to look at, they more than make up for it in honesty, fair pricing and not being pushy. After that initial visit, I waited a few months more, carefully monitoring their ads before seeing a car I wanted (2017 SV) that came into their inventory, and then upgraded the original battery (30kwh 67% SOH) to a 40kwh 91% SOH battery on Guillermo's recommendation.Note that they are limited to batteries they have on hand. And ask to check the battery you want with LeafSpy (they will gladly do this) - the State of Health is very important (these are used batteries, and while some can be barely used, others have had more use). New inventory for both cars and batteries seems to come in randomly. They will also gladly send you the CARFAX report for the car you are interested in. Anton went above and beyond by personally delivering some needed paperwork to our home.Thank you EV Rides! We are definitely happy customers.

Many thanks to Guillermo and EV Rides for helping us successfully breathe new life into our 2013 Leaf. We bought our Leaf new 10 years ago and the car is still in great shape, but the battery pack was getting tired... when it was cold out, the range was down to ~65 miles. We decided to upgrade with EV Rides to a 40 kWh battery pack, and the whole process was super smooth and easy. Now we are driving with power and confidence. Thanks, Guillermo.

The EV Rides team was fantastic. I flew up to Portland to visit. Found the perfect 2014 Leaf and had the 62kwh battery option installed. Paid a very fair price. Within a few days they had it shipped to my home in Southern California. The communication was terrific too. Quick and honest responses on everything before and after the purchase. These people know what they re doing and they do it well with grace and professionalism that is rare. I cannot recommend them enough and truly wish them well in the future.

We had a very good experience with EV Rides. They are very knowledgeable and they want to do right by their customers. They care about their customers from beginning to end. We ve been Leaf owners for 10 years and so we know what a good EV product is. We highly recommend EV Rides to anyone looking to replace an old EV or try one for the first time.

Quick review - About a month ago, I had EV Rides replace the battery in my 2012 Leaf, and honestly couldn't be happier with the whole experience. Would highly recommend if you're looking to replace the battery in your Leaf.Full review - I've always wanted an electric car, so when I saw a 2012 Leaf for only $4500 back in 2019, I jumped at the chance. The battery originally got 68 miles on a full charge (24kWh battery), which was enough for my daily drives around town. However, by December 2023, the battery was only giving me 38 miles on a full charge, and I had to charge it daily, because of having to use the heater.I started looking for a new affordable electric car and came across an ad for EV Rides on Craigslist offering battery replacement and upgrades. The only problem was that their shop was a 2-hour drive from my town, so I wasn't sure how I would get the car there. Even so I decided to go ahead and give them a call and see if they could help me. After leaving a voice message I got a call back from Guillermo, he was able to answer all my questions and explained that they could arrange transportation for my car with a tow company, which cost me $250 one way. After a bit of planning, my car was towed to EV Rides, and they replaced the battery the same day. The new battery is at 83% battery health and gets 78 miles on a full charge (24kWh battery). A months has passed and I can honestly say that I'm very satisfied with the battery replacement. I can now drive around and use the heater without worrying about my mileage. I expect to drive worry-free for another 5-6 years before needing to think about the battery again. When that day comes, I'll definitely contact EV Rides again.

It s hard to not over-praise EV Rides. These guys are honest, responsive, caring, reasonable, and most of all HONEST. I just finished my maiden voyage of 260 miles in my newly updated 2013 Leaf (40k battery install). Stopped only twice to charge. Left with 141 range, even in cold weather. Yesterday, I looked at my dash and it said 159 range! Gueliermo and Anton are superb mechanics and businessmen and I recommend them without hesitation. Thank you guys for giving my Leaf new life.

Upgraded our battery on our 2014 Leaf and couldn't be happier. Our old battery (24 kw/h) was at about 75% of its original batter life (90k mi) so our effective range was down to about 60 miles in the wintertime, causing lots of anxiety. We were debating between getting a new car (WV ID.4 or Hyundai Ioniq 5) or upgrading the battery through EV Rides. So glad we chose EV Rides. We upgraded to a 62kw/hr battery that had over 90% of it's original life (SoH) meaning our effective range goes to about 190 mi of range in the wintertime (more in the summer). We live in Portland so that gets us to the coast and back, Hood River and back, Mt Hood and back without worrying. Some of the newer cars have slightly more range but it became a no-brainer: pay $45k+ for a new car or pay a third of that to have an upgraded battery in our current car that does everything we need. Guillermo and Anton and staff are the best. They even fixed an unrelated issue for us at no charge. From an environmental perspective, your old battery lives on and gets re-purposed for other things. I don't usually write reviews but I'm so glad this place exists, and if you're on the fence between a new car and an upgraded battery, I highly recommend an upgraded battery through EV Rides.

Anton, EV Rides owner and his crew definitely know their business - Nissan Leaf battery upgrades. Guillermo at EV Rides was excellent.I bought my 2011 Leaf at the Bellingham Public Auction for under $4000 knowing it had limited range. Initially I was OK with that. But later, I wanted more.I am so glad I picked EV Rides of Portland to do the job.If you are interested in details, read on and see photos. Before upgrade, it was normal to drive 20 miles maximum and worry about getting home. After upgrade, I am seeing 70+ miles of range!! That takes me everywhere I need to go around Bellingham WA. Well worth the $5K + transport cost.I could have paid more for more range, or a bit less. But I am happy.Next time, I will skip the auction and buy direct from EV Rides of Portland. They have plenty of upgraded Leaf EVs ready to go.

Best place to buy an Electric Vehicle (EV)!These guys know their stuff. Guillermo and Anton were accommodating and informative throughout the whole process. They know all about batteries and even warranty the batteries in the cars they sell, which is unheard of when buying a used EV! We love the Tesla that we bought from them and this will be our first stop next time we are car shopping! I 10/10 recommend EV Rides!

We had our 2012 Nissan Leaf with 50 mile range upgraded to a brand new 40 kWh battery pack with EV Rides. They arranged a shipment from Seattle to Portland and back. Everything went smoothly and now have over 170 mile range! We are extremely happy with their customer service; transparent communication and outstanding work!

After years of waiting and watching, reading and saving, the time to invest in my EV Ride finally arrived Friday, 29 September, with a Craig's List description and a call to Guillermo. $500 deposit was easy. The WA state sales tax break for the first $16k was immediate when I titled the car, and all the paperwork was so easy to collect. Glad I decided to go all out with 62kWh -- they set me up with my 96% SOH 2022 OEM battery and a brand new Nissan charger. My experience driving 184 miles home on 6 October was spectacular, and after a month I am still SO delighted with this whole experience!! The Facebook community surrounding the global celebration of upgrading and extending life of the LEAF was also a great surprise, but calling Guillermo for advice (LeafSpy and dongle) is more to my liking. May your experience help keep these guys in business many years (and many, many miles with smiles for you too!)

I have a 2016 deluxe Nissan Leaf. After I bought it (from Car Max) I phoned EV Rides several times for advice. They were always so gracious and super knowledgeable. Finally this year my original car battery went down to 8 bars, so I decided to get a new and bigger battery from EV Rides. Turned out great! I love my Leaf and am super pleased to have this refurbishment of my awesome car from EV Rides. Thanks, EV Rides!

We knew we wanted a used Nissan Leaf, and were ok with the standard 24kwh used range (60-80 miles). After much research we connected with EV Rides, as their prices were lower than a dealer and it was easier than finding a private seller and coordinating everything ourselves. They had a low mileage, pristine 2013 Leaf that met our criteria, they put a high quality used 24kwh battery in it, and within a day we drove home a beautiful, reliable car for a very reasonable price. The process was quick, easy, and we love the car. I can see why they are so busy!

Guillermo and company are the best! I think we're really lucky to have them here in Portland. We bought a refurbished Leaf from them with a 62kWh battery that's been a fantastic car, and they've been great to deal with in the 1.5 years since. Very friendly, responsive, and professional. I'd highly recommend them to anyone considering making the transition to an EV but might be unsure due to cost concerns. They're very reasonable, and the best part is you're keeping a perfectly working older EV out of the junkyard!

My 2013 Leaf was down to about 32 miles per charge, having had one of the very last heat-sensitive Canary batteries sold. My original range in 2013 was about 75 miles. When I called EV Rides, Guillermo clearly explained the battery options that were available. A $500 deposit reserved the battery, paperwork was sent, and less than a week later my car was en route from Los Angeles to Portland. After paying by wire transfer, I had my Leaf back 10 days later and I couldn t be happier! Everything is identical except for a vastly improved range. I took a 112 mile trip yesterday with considerable range left over. My 10 year old car that previously could barely manage a round trip to my work is now able to handle every drive I do except for my very occasional trips outside the Los Angeles metro area.Although $12,000 is a very expensive repair, I now expect to do 90% of my driving all-electric for at least the next decade. This is far cheaper than buying another car and I am glad that EV Rides provides a battery replacement service, especially since Nissan won t upgrade the battery in this car.

After a nightmare experience at a Nissan dealership here in Portland, and unpleasant experiences at two others, we feel so fortunate to have stumbled across EV Rides. Guillermo & Anton have restored our faith that there still are good honest people out there that actually care about their customers having a positive car buying experience. They patiently answered all our questions, providing us with useful information we didn t know, even after leasing EVs a few years. Furthermore, they gave us a much better price for our trade-in than the traditional dealerships offered, saving us several thousand dollars.Quick & stress-free, the whole process with them could not have been any easier. We plan to go back to them for our next EV & recommend you do so as well.

I have had my 2013 Nissan Leaf SL from EV Rides for almost a year now. The car has been trouble free the entire time. The people at EV Rides represented the car truthfully and has performed as promised. The staff is knowledgable and accessible for further information about the vehicle. Thanks EV Rides for providing me with a reliable vehicle. ERIC

We bought our Leaf with 62kwh battery about a year and a half ago. It gets us, our kayaks and gear to the coast and back to Portland for pennies on the dollar and with a lot smaller carbon footprint then our old Rav4!When we started to run into an issue with our battery early this year we were a little nervous, knowing how hard big ticket warranty issues can be on a small business. Anton replaced it without questions showing clearly how well they stand behind their product and their commitment to customer service! If you're looking for a good used EV at a reasonable price, go talk to EV Rides!

Buying a Nissan Leaf from EV Rides was great. EV Rides helped me decide what to buy to suit my intended use, then EV Rides found exactly the car I was looking for, and arranged delivery from Portland to my home in Bellingham. Could not have been easier. Overall, a great experience, and I would use EV Rides to buy another car in the future.

We've had the car now since October 2021 and wanted to wait a bit until posting the review. We had an excellent experience with EV Rides LLC and feel very fortunate to have found them (through an online EV club). There was a very good selection of cars to fit any budget and I'm very happy with the car we ended up with. Arranging transport of the vehicle was affordable and a great bonus as I didn't want to do it myself. The condition of the cars that were available were all very good to like-new. Our car had some minor, exterior cosmetic issues to be expected on a used car of its age and an issue with the passenger seat sensor that is common with the 2013 but does not impact the function of the car at all. The only thing we had done to the car upon arrival was tint the windows darker which is a must for where we live. EV Rides really went above and beyond working with us to find the right car and to explain the ins-and-outs of the Leaf. Communication from initial contact to delivery of the car was five-star. The photo of the car on the flatbed was texted by EV Rides the night it was picked up to confirm it was on its way. I would buy another electric vehicle from them, and when the time comes, will be looking to them for battery replacement.

Guillermo walked me through the options of upgrading my 2013 Leaf SV through phone call, email and text. Scheduling was easy and the exchange took 3 hours. The 90% 40kWh battery provides up to 150 mile range and the old 24 kWh battery (50%) will likely be repurposed as a backup to a solar farm or similar. Collin did the tech work and the car runs perfectly. Note: if you are trailering your car, drive into the storage facility next door and walk over. There is no space to pull in and Columbia Blvd is very busy.

If you are looking to buy a used EV you have to check these guys out, especially if you're considering a Nissan Leaf or Tesla. They are offering a great product with solid technical experience and excellent customer service.I bought a Leaf from them, a 2013 SL with ~50k miles, and chose to keep the base 24 kWhr battery because I thought that I really wouldn't be driving the car very much.I ended up enjoying driving the car so much and it is in such good condition that I ended up going back to EV Rides and upgrading to a 40 kWhr battery. Now I have no range anxiety and can give it the beans whenever I want, hopefully breaking stereotypes of Leaf drivers. For a 10-year old car, the price I paid seemed high at first, but comparing to what else was out there at the time, an EV with this range and equipped with heated leather seats front and back and heated steering wheel was well above the price I paid at EV Rides.Guillermo and Anton were extremely helpful and courteous throughout the entire process. They have found themselves a nice niche for their business and they seem to be growing quickly. Don't be put off by the appearance of the facility, their product and service are better than a shiny dealership, and they are working on moving to a more traditional dealer facility. If you are looking for what they are offering, I can't recommend EV Rides enough.

EV Rides is definitely the place to go if one is wanting a used electric vehicle (EV) that has been reinvigorated by the installation of a new battery. My husband and I happened upon EV Rides after researching the used EV market. We knew it was time to enter the EV world but didn t know quite what we wanted. We have a reservation for a new Fisker Ocean but know that realistically we will not be getting it until the fall of 2023. We needed a car in the interim. EV Rides offered the perfect solution! Their business philosophy of wanting to curtail planned obsolescence of older EVs by upgrading and updating the batteries is paramount to why we chose EV Rides. There are two reasons why a person might want to dive into the EV world. The first reason is from a purely economical standpoint. Gas prices are always high and they have been for decades! Putting miles and paying for gas on short little trips around town is insane. The second reason would be from an environmental perspective. An EV satisfies both of these reasons. It is more efficient than a gas powered vehicle.Working with Guillermo at EV Rides was excellent. He knows his stuff! I was a little hesitant at first because there is no fancy showroom, but Guillermo s knowledge and transparency throughout the process reassured my husband and I that we were making the right choice! The 2013 Nissan Leaf that we purchased through EV Rides has been great! It is a lot of fun to zip around town in. It doesn t look its age and sure doesn t act like it thanks to Guillermo and the team at EV Rides!
