Unfortunately Baxter's sold out. It doesn't necessarily look harmful. Hopefully the workers of Baxter's are okay. I used to go shop at the St John's location and it was really awesome for a Time the people that work there were excellent and very caring about what you needed to get and how they could help serve you. Over a time that seemed to change a few months maybe a year before they close the St John's location. Indeed is the staff that sells things that makes the experience special. It's also the very thing that it seems like owners or managers will try to abuse. It seems like the people in St John's moved over to the north Portland location. Some are there some not. My general experience is a good one. I will keep going back there to find what I need.

I Was Greeted By An Employee, With A Nice Smile The second I walked in the Door. The Employee Who Helped Me Find The Part I Need & Without Having To Ask For Assistance, He Offered To Install The Part For Me FreeOf Charge. I Extremely Impressed With The Service I Received. And, I Will Definitely RecommendThis Place To Anyone WhoNeeds Anything In Regards To Automotive.

Brought two batteries in for recycling and received zero store credit or any reimbursement despite purchasing other product while I was there. Any other auto store will typically give you $10 / EA for at least store credit (Autozone, O'Reilly) Was told this was due to thefts in the area, but feel like that'd be an easy thing to gauge on a customer by customer basis.Staff was helpful otherwise for choosing the product I needed. My guess is they just take the batteries and get the full credit / recycling themselves.

After going to other auto parts stores in N. Portland, because they are closer ,and having no luck with my problem, I went to the Hayden Meadows store because in the past they had more knowledgable people there. I was not disappointed. I was directed to Kevin with my problem and he consulted with Roy and they came up with exactly what I needed.Fabulous customer service just like the good old days. Other places, if it's not on the computer, they are lost.These guys are old school and weren't afraid to go in the back area and dig out what I wanted. Could not be happier.

I just wanted to commend Jeff, who works at Baxter Auto Parts. I had a tail light out. I bought the parts that I needed for the repair, and proceeded to (outside the store) to replace it myself. Easy, right! I got the cover off, then I couldn t figure out where the light bulb went. I went back into the store and Jeff was kind enough to come out and me. He, not only, showed me where the bulb went, but put the whole thing back together! THANK YOU, Jeff. Your help was greatly appreciated!

The guy who helping me was amazing! I can't say enough good things about the service. Both my headlights went out and the guy checked both my fuse boxes before confirming it was the headlight bulbs and then he changed them for me for free. So thankful for the help I received today!! He went above and beyond. I would highly recommend this place! Thank you so much Baxters!!

I took my truck to liberty tire and glass they qouted me 2,300 to rebuild my front differential and replace two CV axles baxters did it All Plus realignment for 854 dollar's Chris is the best My truck now drives like a Cadillac and it has a 6 inch lift highly recommend these guys Beware of liberty tire and glass!!!!!

I showed up after this place was closed and my battery died in the parking lot. They re-opened the store to help me replace it. The manager here really went above and beyond. Excellent service.

When it comes to getting what I need and advice, HOLY MOLLY you can not go wrong here!I own 4 cars. I go here for anything. I don't care if they charge a little more. They have went out of their way to help me and my family no mater what. AND THEY DEALT WITH MY MOM.DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO DEAL WITH MY MOM? LOL. :-)I forgot the dudes name but he has a beard. HE IS AMAZING! The place even has a machine shop.When I need the right part, they go out of their way to make sure I get it. I mean they take their time. Please don't be in a rush. They are there to help you if you are patient.I love this place. But I have many good experience in Portland with the parts stores. Some not so much. But its more about the people at the stores, not the stores themselves.Many times, I went in and asked for a part and they asked why? I told them and they said it might not be your problem. Yup, they were right.Yea, I could get a lower price someplace else. Sure. But I am not willing to risk it when it comes to my cars.They do Military and vet discounts. Have a nice open parking lot with tons of space to park your car.They also have all those parts that other stores just don't seem to carry in stock.If you have a Town and Country minivan, chances are they got your part in stock. And they know the right part you need.And they are the only people I know that sell HID kits and other items like that IN STORE!

The guy behind the parts counter was incredibly rude. I asked for some basic details on my vehicle and was immediately met with an attitude. I guess I could look that up for you . Usually get better service. I ll be going elsewhere from now on.

I needed to do an oil change on my vehicle and I needed a specific tool to get the oil filter off. Places I called told me they probably had the tool I needed, but I would have to bring the part into there store. If I could get the part off then I wouldn't need the tool. Lenny at Baxter knew that and helped me get the tool I needed. I probably paid a little more, but it was so worth it. I had everything I needed for my oil change that day & didn't have to wait for it to be shipped to me. Thank you everybody at Baxter!

They even fill nitrous bottles! They do a bunch these places use to look like performance parts stores. Unfortunately that's changed at the one on 4th Plaine. Things cannot remain the same forever I suppose. Before the merge 5 out of 5. Thinking it's about to turn into 3/5.

It is really great to be able to get help from someone who is willing to think about the question asked. I came in looking for something unusual but the gentleman who helped me thought about it for a second then got exactly the part I needed. The guys at the other national chain store couldn't even listen to me long enough before concluding I didn't need the part I was after but needed something else that hadn't been proven to be failing. Thank goodness I wasn't so naive! That would have cost $$$ and not solved the problem. Turns out $2.50 spent at Baxter's gave me the answer! Problem solved. Thanks again!

By far the worst customer service by the store manager Roy I have ever experienced. I own a race team In southern Oregon and came here to fill a nos tank because everyone down south was out. The manager refused to fill my bottle because it was a 1lb bottle NEW. I spend 100 of thousands of dollars at Baxter s in southern Oregon over the years. But no more

About the only car parts store I use. Parking can sometimes be a bit tough cos of businesses next door.The have a 10% discount for current and former service members with proof of service like VIC Card

They only get one star. I was having a battery issue I called them told him I was on my way for parts.well I barely made it there my lights are going out raining and dark windshield wipers and windows wouldn't work anymore I pulled right in front of the door at 5 minutes till 9 p.m. they close at 9. The look on there faces when I pulled up is what you would expect at a fast food joint at 20 minutes to close. Lol There was three employees all three of them standing right by the door amd pointed at the clock or the sign as I walked up I open the door said I made it, I called earlier about it part. Not one acknowledge me like glad you made it or some thing.I only needed a few simple Parts I was there 5 minutes maybe 6 at the most. I had asked him if any of them lived at Hayden Island 1.5 miles away, thiking maybe follow me home so wasn't sure if I was going to make it they all said they didn't which is fine no problem. We all pretty much walked out together two of the three walked out with me I open the hood and my truck died, batteries are dead because I had a bad ground terminal I couldn't tighten it. When it died I said damn I turned and looked at them they turned their backs and walked away they know all I needed was a jump start and I wasn't about to ask them who would think I would need to ask they are Auto Parts salesman. They drove away in three vehicles not one of them offered to give me a jump start I have cables and you know five minutes of their time. Guess that's the difference between big city and small towns. It just seemed you know being a customer of theirs that one of them would have asked if I needed assistance or something you know. I know I would have helped a person like that I've done it many times throughout my life. I have shopped here 3 or 4 times prior to this and I give Baxters one star.

From a lady's point of view These guys are the best in town! Knowledgeable and helpful and charming. Seemed like a lot of older men shopping too, so they must think so too. Family owned.

If im not mistaken there is an employee named Doug that works in this location and we were having some car trouble on Saturday, as we were from out of town we needed the problem fixed right away. He helped us with the parts we needed and even went as far as to come out to our car and help us loosen the spark plug with his own tools. THANKS DOUG :)

I went to jr. high school with (tygh?). Lol. Even though I know him I'll still shop here! The staff here has always been helpful and the type that car enthusiast's want to go to. Anyone can sell you something, but did they use it last week on their car? Thanks, Dave Kadow.

The Baxters side is kind of over priced. I only come here because Central 4 wheel drive moved over there and I like working with Jim. He's never in a rush and always has great ideas as to what will work best for your truck.

Great service I brought a battery they carried my new battery out & picked up the old one. Great people knew what they were talking about.
