Waited a year to review and I'm super pleased with my experience at mobile West. There were a couple of kinks to work out and once resolved,the speaker system has been excellent quality. Be patient with the folks working there and trust me they will make sure you are satisfied. Peter is a great guy.

They totally screwed up. I was quoted a 60-90 minute install on speakers I brought in. I sit and wait.2 hours later it's only "20 more minutes" after I track someone down. An hour later, I check on my car, nobody is working on it but it "just got finished".They installed the speakers in the rear instead of the front. They said they weren't the right kind for the front, and that the only reason why my dying front speakers sound bad is because of the EQ tuning. The speakers have been dying for over a year, it ain't the EQ.Nobody spoke to me about this. We emailed and I said I was having my front speakers replaced. Nobody communicated to me during or before the install. They let me sit for 3 hours, installed incorrectly, and never said a word about the wait or the install until after I had to personally grab someone to ask.Having to now wait even longer while they take everything out and replace it back to the way it was. Absolutely wasted my day. Hopefully the speakers can be returned.A single check in, "hey these don't fit the front, is that what you wanted?" is all they needed to do. Awful service.

The absolute best in the business, Peter has done several installs for me and continues to go above and beyond each time. Mobile wests dedication to customer service is bar none. This is the only place I will ever take any of my vehicles !!!! Would have rated 10 stars

So, my guy s store was lost due to recent ice storm. And I really like my alarm system and stereo. So, the thought of starting over frightened me, but I researched, dealt with a couple of folks interested only in upselling me to their systems, contacted my mechanic friends, attempted the manual myself, and went with friend recommendations. I met Peter and was instantly swayed by a guy who knows his business. The boss man working the front desk, knee deep in paperwork while engaging his team. No hard sell, but he did get me in for an appointment. I came in and Josh the tech fixed me up and out the door I went, even though my equipment wasn t theirs. But what they got? A returning customer with referral power. Kudos and mahalos from Kana in Kenton with Grrr! The Honda Element

Couldn't be happier with this company. They treated me with respect and kindness even when I could tell they were having a stressful day.They worked with me to get the best alarm system for the price I was willing to pay, and got it installed within a day. They even gave me a loaner vehicle for the day for free.The show room was a bit cluttered and disorganized, but it didn't bother me. It would have been nice to see a few demos of products besides speakers and stereos but I get that's their main thing.I did have to return to get my alarm adjusted for sensitivity, but they got right on it without any pushback and I was out of there in no time. I would definitely give them a look if you're interested in an alarm system or camera installation.

Peter set me up with a sub and amp and hooked up my stereo for my 1994 Range Rover in less than a day! He made the process so easy and very happy with the results. Will absolutely be back for any future stereo, alarm system needs in the future.

Peter was super helpful and friendly! He had me in within less than 24 hrs and recommended an awesome alarm system for my car after a break in. They were quick, super kind, knowledgeable, and very professional.

BEWARE STAY AWAY!!! I dropped off my headliner, rear deck and sun visors to be reuphosltered by Mobile West back in October. I was told at the time they would be done in the following week. Well nothing was ready when I was told and instead it was over a month before they were ready. When I went to pickup the pieces I noticed there was glue bleeding through on one of the visors so I left it for them to fix. Another 2 weeks or so and its ready. Pick it up install it and the vanity light doesn't work. Come to find out they broke the visor when they opened it. So I take it back and show them. I was told by the Owner Peter they would order a new one. A week or so later still nothing. I had to send him the link where to buy one and it took me all of 2 min to find yet for some reason he told me he couldn't find one. So at this point I'm frustrated and he tells me that his upholstery guy hasn't been in for awhile and he has no clue whats going on with him. I tell him he has 2 weeks to get this taken care of at this point or I want a refund and the replacement visor for the one they broke. Welp I gave him a month. Peter the owner never called to tell me what was going on so I showed up and guess what......Visor still not done. He then gives me the same excuse that he has no clue where his guy is but he'll get it taken care of even if he has to take it to another shop. Nope at this point I asked for a refund and the visor so I can take it somewhere thats more professional and that can actually do the job I paid them to do. So Peter gives me the visors and $200 of my money back which is less than I paid them and sends me on my way. Months later and time wasted because of this guys failure at management and customer service. I wouldn't recommend anybody does business with them unless you like being lied to and waiting months to get stuff done that should've only taken a month at most.

This is THE place to go for your auto upgrades!! Peter and his team offer old-school friendly customer service and the highest level of new-school tech.I first visited Mobile West years ago after a break-in. I was so happy with that alarm installation that I kept coming back. I've since had multiple systems installed and had them upgrade my alarm. When things went sideways by my own fault. Peter helped me initially diagnose the issue on the phone and then had his team working hard to solve the residual troubles caused by my error.Don't even consider another shop. These are the real pros!

I am so glad I went here. I got a car with the base stripped down stereo and it had to go. I just asked Peter to handle it, he gave me some options and it's like I have a completely new car just because of how rad the stereo is. Thank you for the great service.

Did a shoddy job reinstalling panels, expensive ($150/hr labor) & poorly organized. After a few tries and back & forth visits, it all works, though.Would not recommend to a friend but probably fine in a pinch.Edit: one month later the system installed has broken, no longer accessing front speakers and blew out my ears with a random loud shrieking noise when trying to adjust the settings.

I've been coming here for many years and multiple vehicle stereo upgrades. This time was for the window tinting in my new/used car. Fantastic work, great prices, and the personal job you get from the owner, Pete, is superb. I will always come back to them as they are the best in town. They offer multiple car upgrades for all cars.

The system they installed sounds good, but they kinda hacked up my car. Wires exposed, interior panels not replaced properly, missing screws, half open holes in the upholstery. I had to go back several times to improve things and I m still finding problems. 2.5 stars.

I took my 2016 Metris camper van to Mobile West after dealing with another large local shop. Peter was wonderful to deal with and could explain how they were going to integrate the new system into my van, answered all my questions. Next day they installed the new system and Peter set the system up with me. What a nice pleasant person who knows what he sales.

After being treated like an idiot at car toys, it was refreshing to have such straight forward, open, and honest treatment from the guys at Mobile West. Car toys wanted to literally charge me DOUBLE what Mobile West did, with absolutely no information on what justified such outrageous price hikes. The staff at Mobile West were friendly, honest, professional, and super helpful. My car stereo sounds great, and having done installations myself, I can tell you that their attention to detail, and quality of work, is top notch. If you're in the Portland area, and want quality audio products or installation for your car, go see Peter at Mobile West autocraft. Best service, quality work, and honest, reasonable pricing.

Not happy with their installation. I wanted to replace my rear window camera for my rear view mirror dash cam. I ordered a new one and told them only replace the rear camera. The installer I guess didn't have the right notes given to him so he decides to cut my factory rear camera wire on my license plate instead of the one for my dash cam. One of the installers came out and said sorry, it was a mis communication. They said they would install a brand new one at no charge. I was like fine. After the installer was done, he pulled my car up and when I looked inside, my rear view mirror dash cam was just hanging and not even mounted where it was supposed to be. The installer again said oh sorry mis communication. When I went back inside to pay for it, the invoice stated a flat rate for a front and rear dash cam install was $300.00!!!! He did take off $125 for cutting the rear factory back up camera. So I had to pay $175.00 for a job that took almost 90 min to replace the rear window camera. Originally, when i bought it new, the time took less the 30 minutes to install everything. Rear view mirror is still loose. Not happy at all with Mobile West.

If you take anything from these reviews, hear this: before going to some assembly-line-style franchise, it's worth giving Mobile West a visit first. The good folks at MW have worked on 2 of my vehicles on several occasions over the years and their work is second to none. Car audio is expensive to begin with, so at first, I too was tempted to go to a big name chain to try to save money but found that Mobile West is very reasonable and have the knowledge and willingness to work within a budget to suggest options that work. MW's attention to detail and quality of work exceeded my expectations they recognize that one's vehicle is an investment and also a personal affect, so they take great care to ensure whatever they touch looks better than before.Peter is the most joyful and patient person I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with he even loaned me his vehicle while mine was being serviced. You won't be disappointed.

I have had a consistently excellent customer experience at Mobile West. I bought a high end car stereo under excellent guidance with a resultant stereo fidelity experience that I enjoy every day.In terms of service, Peter and his team have been fair and extremely helpful. They are careful to honor warranty and the technical team there is very strong.At the end of the day, I trust them. When I buy my next car stereo, I will return to Mobile West.

We bought an Alpine car stereo from Mobile West almost ten years ago. Today I went in to see them because recently the touch screen totally stopped responding even though it was still all lit up and would beep when touched.At first, the salesperson said it would probably need to be replaced, but I asked him to come out and look at it first. He came and looked at it and then said, let me go get someone else. The someone else was the owner, Pete. So then Pete came out to the car and looked at it and very quickly gave the stereo a hard reset and that was all it took!!! He then VERY nicely hooked up my phone to the Bluetooth and set the current date and time for me, haha.My thanks go out to the owner of Mobile West for the awesome customer service. When this Alpine finally bites the dust, we ll go back to them.

MW did an awesome job of replacing my obsolete factory audio with an aftermarket unit that outperforms my original unit in every way. Like others, I was leery of entrusting my vehicle to a chain franchise. I found owner Peter C. to be helpful, knowledgeable, and honest. Unlike other shops where upselling is an art, Peter listened carefully to what I wanted so he could recommend a product that would deliver - nothing more, nothing less, all at a reasonable price.The end result is a flawless installation that looks original, and an audio system that makes me want to take the long road home.Look no further than MW Autocraft for the total package in customer satisfaction!

After I bought my new WRX, I decided neither the standard nor upgrade stereo would do. I first patronized a local installer, and was disappointed with the results. Looked up online reputation of Mobile West, and was impressed, I drove 120 miles round trip to have them redo my system. First rate operation. Very knowledgeable, excellent equipment selection, great advice, good prices. They will do whatever it takes to make sure the install is correct. I am an audiophile, and the owner understands and appreciates good sound. Mobile West is more than just the typical 'boom boom' custom car stereo installer. I was impressed that I saw the owner take lots of time to help customers buying much less expensive systems than mine, shows dedication to all buyers. My head unit developed a problem with the GPS after two weeks, and they replaced it with a new one, good support. highly recommended! Update: had problems again with the head unit a year after I bought it. They still completely stood behind it. This kind of customer support is almost impossible to find nowadays. Don't bother talking to anyone else, these guys are the real deal!

I had called multiple times to ask questions about my car radio do to an attempted theft. They explained that it was broken, so after my insurance said pick a car audio shop I knew right were to go. I went there spoke with Peter and he got me an estimate. Came in a few days later and Allen helped me was clear and accepted payment. Made appointment. They had my new stereo looking great and sounding great. Looks like it was made to fit there. Thanks for your great service guys! I recommend them to everyone!!

I purchased a used car in September and a few weeks later had Mobile West install a double din stereo and a backup camera for me. They did a fantastic job. A few weeks later it was brought to my attention that my backup lights and a rear blinker were out. I had the bulbs replaced but the lights still didn t work. A friend told me she thought it was probably caused by Mobile West but for some reason I didn t call them. After all, the car was used and I didn t want to blame them. Then a few weeks later, my hazard lights were flashing on their own without the button being pushed and I couldn t get them to turn off. Finally I called. Peter said to bring the car in right away and they d take a look. Long story short, they found the issue was not due to a mistake on their part. Insert a bunch of electrical jargon here but it wasn t covered by the warranty since it wasn t their fault. However! Peter could not have taken better care of me. He said he knew when I dropped the car off I wasn t expecting to have to pay anything so he charged me a more than fair price for the job (I was on the verge of tears expecting it to be several hundred dollars + and when he told me the amount I almost cried tears of relief). I walked away relieved that it didn t cost me an arm and a leg and they solved all my electrical problems. Thank you Peter and everyone at Mobile West.

Peter and Allen went above and beyond... more than just getting me a great stereo at a reasonable price, AND more than it being installed super well with no rattles and with molding that matches the line of my car interior... they let me borrow a car, for free, not once but twice without my even asking so I could keep running errands, AND they fixed the broken button on my window without even asking or mentioning it! I don't leave a ton of reviews, but it's worth mentioning how good my experience was, and that I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

I read many reviews before visiting the shop and speaking with the owner, Peter. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. We looked at a few options and found a nice set of speakers to upgrade my ride. I'm happy with the sound, but unhappy that my passenger door handle was damaged during the install. The damage is very minor, but still, you don't want or expect the interior of your car to be damaged when simply swapping out speakers. This was a disappointment to an otherwise positive experience.

The folks at Mobile West went above and beyond my expectations to help me upgrade my car's AV system. Matt was friendly, knowledgeable and realistic in recommending hardware that the best fit for my needs and budget. The staff was always friendly, patient, and attentive. They even lent me a car while my mine was in the shop. My new system now works and sounds great. Don't ever think about taking your car to the amateurs at Car Toys. The employees at Mobile West are professional, experienced and have a lot of integrity. Highly recommended!

My son saved up for a MAJOR upgrade for his 2004 Saturn Vue. Peter at Mobile West got us set up with a really choice Alpine deck with apple carplay and backup camera too. I feel much safer knowing my son won't have to be playing with his phone with this upgrade. They also got it installed right away and took great care of us. It looks and sounds amazing. Highly recommend you choose Mobile West

I've been bringing my company vans here for over ten years to have alarms and security locks installed. They do good work and are friendly too. The manager there is great, I've always enjoyed my interactions with him.

Called to ask about a skar or equivalent ultra cheap amp wiring kit. Guy on the phone was condesending and rude and rather insulting about the choice of products i was looking to get.Suffice it to say y'all guaranteed I'll go to another shop first.For what it's worth I've heard their installs are top tier though.

Peter was great. One of the most knowledgeable music guys I have met. Showed me several options after hearing what it was that I wanted. I ended up replacing my stock radio with an upgrade to complement the very nice speakers I purchased. Overall, the experience was great and I was happy with the product. The installation of the components also went very well. The guys were very careful when removing and reinstalling parts of the dash and doors to get to the speakers and radio. No scratches, dents or loose parts. The installers ket the truck a bit longer to ensure the highest quality installation. Their hard work and expertise paid off since the system sounds beautiful. I am very happy with everything.
