First met Matt when I was referred by an associate at an auto parts store. Had the car towed to his shop with a part. After some testing, was told I needed something else. Worked out the details and got the repair process started. While waiting for the part to come in, Matt did some further testing and discovered that all I really needed was to have some connections righted. He did this, car works great. I live in Salem, Matt's shop is in Portland (60 mile drive north). I will be making the trip north for more work. A short drive, good results... Worth it!!!

I brought Matt my 93 F350 IDI after finding out the backyard mechanic who sold me the truck didn't know what a torque wrench was, while he had "rebuilt" the trans. The labor rate has been extremely reasonable and the communication prompt. No upselling and reasonable rates has made me extremely happy that I took my truck to AndersonFam. I will continue to update this review after I get my truck back on the road, but wanted to say how happy I've been with the process so far.

Matt is a conscientious and trustworthy mechanic. He gets jobs done in a timely manner and does a good job of keeping one up to date on the status of the work. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Words can't express how truly grateful I am I was stuck in a situation were I felt lost and trapped. Still owing on my car and taking it to a shop to pay them for them to tell me that the car has more damage than what I paid for the car I just wanted to give up. One thing was for sure the clutch was going out. The original mechanic shop I took it to wanted to charge me the amount of what I still owe on the car (there was no way) not knowing what to do I didn't want to take a loss as this is the most responsible I have been with taking care of a car. I reached out to Andersonfam just as I was about to give up as we spoke over the phone and I gave him the run down he had a pretty good idea just by talking to me over the phone he emailed me a professional estimate of the cost and labor and I thought that it was too good to be true compared to the other guys quotes. He finished in about 2 days and kept in contact with me every step off the way and always had a positive attitude I will definitely coming back!!! Car runs great and I couldn't be happier thank you Andersonfam

Quality and integrity are easy to see with Anderson Fam Transmission. Matt takes extreme pride in his work. It is the only place I will go for my services and rebuilds. Thank you for all your hard work.

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. Had Matt rebuild a Tahoe trans. Have about 2k miles on it and works great. Do have a couple others for him to do soon. Thanks a bunch Matt!

Today review:I just have my transfer case rebuilt by Matt due to the driveline noise issues. I feel confident in Matt s work since he took time to made sure that every part was right and installed correctly during the previous 4L60E transmission rebuilt project. This time, he went above and beyond to make sure all of the details are addressed and exceeded my expectations customer satisfaction totally. Now, my 18 year old Avalanche runs smooth and strong and has never been better. I highly recommend AndersonFam transmission and Auto Repair. Way to go Matt and keep up the excellent work!Previous review:I just got my 4L60E transmission rebuilt by Matt, the owner of AndersonFam and my truck is now running great with much better throttle response. He is informative and the process was transparent, Matt showed me the damaged internal components of my transmission and the cause of the failure, discussed the options of the rebuilding process incudes the upgrade to make the transmission stronger. Matt also replaced the rear main seal to fix the oil leakage problem.Thanks Matt and way to go!Services: Transmission, Electrical

I finally found a mechanic that can take care of my truck. Matt was very friendly and helpful and took care of my maintenance issues and is a pleasure to work with. I will continue to ask him for any maintenance issues I will need for my truck and my wife s vehicle and I would recommend him to anybody looking for a mechanic or gear man. Thanks again Matt.

Matt is a stand up dude. Very friendly and super transparent And fast. I expressed my urgency and he took it into consideration 1,000 I highly recommend Anderson family transmission. Anderson family transmission will be doing the work on my cars from here on out .I really can't say enough and once again Matt thank you so much you're a lifesaver.

Matt did a rebuild on my transmission and so far my truck has been running great. When my transmission went out on my truck I called around to at least 20 different shops and they all told me to bring it in and have it diagnosed, and didn't seem to care at all. witch is fine except my truck wouldn't drive, so to take it in I would have to have it towed to a shop to pay $100+ just to know exactly what was wrong, . I called andersonfam transmission and explained to Matt what my truck was doing and he was actually very informative and came to my house and did a diagnostic test that same day. When he did the diagnostic test he had a good indication that my transmission pump was out and he went the extra mile to go get a device that would check the transmission pump pressure, came back and that was the problem. The fact that he went the extra mile to make sure exactly what the problem was and he was honest and respectful though the entire process. I decided that I was going to have him fix my transmission and so glad I did. Mat is very through and took pictures of everything , communicated with me through the entire process and he worked his but off to get it done. Great mechanic and from now on I won't be going to any other mechanic. I highly recommend!Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

AndersonFam helped me complete a 4x4 conversion on my van recently. I brought Matt 2 transmissions (one good, one donor), a transfer case, and a few other random parts. He gave me back a bulletproof trans with a ton of upgrades. It s absolutely perfect. AndersonFam was extremely timely, helpful, & communicative through the entire process. Matt even consulted with me after the fact to make sure everything went back together properly. This is a business that truly cares & takes care of it s customers. I couldn t recommend AndersonFam more.

Can't say enough about working with Matt on any automobile issue. He is not only very personable and smart over the phone, you can also tell he is very concerned about any auto trouble you are experiencing, whether small or large.My daughter was having some possible transmission difficulties with her car while driving down from Seattle to San Francisco and based on the 100% positive reviews I found on-line (which were obvious when I called and talked to Matt), I immediately suggested she detour in Portland off the I-5 and drive out to see Matt.To make a long story short, Matt saw her as soon as she showed up, hooked up his equipment and diagnosed her Honda's problems right away plus gave her advice on what to do if she did not have time to leave her car.Matt also filled up her oil and transmission fluids she stores in her trunk before she left.On top of that ---- Matt.did not charge my daughter anything - when I heard that I called him and asked why he didn't charge her something, he just said that you treat people well and they treat you well.I wish Matt would move his shop down here to San Francisco.Service: Transmission

I was greeted by Matt and he listened to the issues regarding my car and I felt confident they could fix the issues no one else was willing to do. He called with his plan to get it fixed and I approved. Service was completed in 2 days. Great guy, honest, experienced, fast turn around, and awesome price. Anderson Family Transmission is always fast, friendly, and professional! He keeps me informed of the whole process of any repairs. He gives me options for parts pricing, and shows me what he is fixing. He is honest and reliable. Communication is key and they are great! amazing service at andersonfam transmission! i brought my 2010 mazda3 to matt with the check engine and AT lights on, and he was able to diagnose the problem for me very thoroughly and efficiently. we found the part needed for my car, and i drove it home the next day. i had a great experience. the communication is wonderful, and im very grateful for the effort put into making sure the process was clearly explained to me as i do not know a lot about servicing cars. i felt more comfortable having more knowledge, and knowing that my comfort and understanding is a priority at andersonfam transmission as well. i would absolutely recommend their services!Service: Transmission

Matt the owner of AndersonFam is amazing! My reverse ban broke on my way out of my parking spot. He was able to get me right in. He also recommended to replace all of the other internal parts and upgrade them to make sure i don t have another issue in the future. Anderson fam did a great job on my explorer!Super friendly and a genuine mechanic who wants to treat people the right way. Kept great notes of my rebuild and is a honest mechanic! AndersonFam transmission is an awesome company. I called several shops and either got very high quotes, or they said they wouldn't work on my truck because it was too old. AndersonFam transmission was honest, professional, and transparent through the whole process. I would highly recommend this company.

I got thru Matt for ALL my mechanical needs.He has been my go to guy long before he had an official shop. He's honest and affordable! I'm so grateful for a machanic that I know has not just his business in mind but thinks of the saftey of my family when doing his work. The family vibe is where it's at. The guy does amazing work and is always open to communicate about challenges with my viechles and able to get things done in a timely manner.He diagnosed my 2003 Mitsubishi lancer found some noises in my transmission and found a replacement. I had a loud vibrating noise under my Mercury Mariner and could not diagnose it myself but Matt discovered it was my wheel bearing causing the noise. He replaced the wheel bearings plus valve cover gaskets and tie rod end boots all at a reasonable price. He is detailed and showed me pictures of before and after and was very thurough in all that he did. AMAZING! My kids and I rode around in the winter with no heater because no one could figure out exactly why it wasn't working, other shops wanted to charge me an arm and I leg just to figure out what was wrong and then a separate charge to MAYBE fix it. I took it here and had my heater fixed in 1 hour and wasn't charged an insane amount. Genuine and honest work and professional. My heater works amazing still too.
