I stopped into Affordable Tire & Brake a few weeks ago with a flat tire. As they diagnosed the problem quickly, they informed me that I would need all new tires. On my way to the emergency room and having had my tires for 5 years, I trusted them not to take advantage of my circumstances since I was not able to review the status of the remaining tires. New tire pricing was reasonable, and the repairs went quickly. The front service desk was friendly, transparent and kind enough to let me leave my car for a few days due to complications at the hospital.So when I heard a persistent off true sound coming from what I thought were my front wheel bearings, I returned to AT&B. With extensive diagnostics including a full report sent to my phone, the mechanics informed me that the problem lay rather with the transmission. Bad news. Yet, I spoke with the service desk who commiserated with me, offered a few follow up options, and did not overly tax me for diagnosis. Even though the news was not what I wanted to hear, I felt like they handled the situation well.So, thank you AT&B.I will return and recommend them based upon my experience.

Blew a tire on the highway and was towed to this shop. They were very kind and honest, and even called me to check in about pricing and necessary work. I was having an awful day and these folks helped make it better and got me back on the road within two hours. Very affordable for the two new tires I needed.

I ve been using Affordable Tires for approximately 6 years and highly recommend them. I have tire shops closer to my neighborhood BUT the customer service and honest advice I m given makes it more than worth going there. Plus it s more than just tires. They have changed my car s oil, put on new brakes and overall maintenance of my car. As long as I drive they will be seeing me every 6 months!

I have been taking my 1995 Dodge Dakota to Affordable Tire & Brake for 20 years. They have provided consistently high quality service and done repairs on simple issues like the windshield wipers and more complex issues such as the air conditioning and heating system. I highly recommend them.

I have taken many cars here for 20-25 years. Their work is always good and their prices are fair. If they think you need some repair or maintenance that you have not requested, they suggest it but are not pushy if you decide to put it off.

I took my car in to "Affordable Tire & Brake Co." because my windshield wipers stopped working during the ice storm. They diagnosed my car--which I paid for, and the woman went over the estimate for replacing the wiper transmission linkage as well as the wiper arms. She said it would be $925 and that's with generic parts to "get the cost down." I asked her how much labor was involved and she said about an hour--that the cost was high due to the parts. I have a Toyota Rav 4 so I had a hard time believing that it was going to be over $700 in parts and that she had to resort to generic parts to "get the cost down." I called two different auto repair shops and they both quoted me $300 for labor and WITH TOYOTA PARTS and were shocked at the quote price I shared with them. The work is now done and it was just as they said, $300 total. So I'm very disappointed that "Not so Affordable Tires & Brake co" would have such an incredibly high mark up in parts and then try to deceive me into thinking they were "helping me out to get the price down." The other Auto companies advised me NOT to go with generic parts as the quality reduction is very apparent and the Toyota parts aren't expensive to begin with. Not sure why they have so many good reviews, maybe people don't know any better. And that is why I'm leaving this review, to let people know that they are NOT affordable or an honest company. --Anna Reid

I absolutely love this place! They are transparent, communicative, friendly, and trustworthy, and if I wasn t moving across the country, I would take my car here forever. I am a true auto dummy and they could have easily upsold me on stuff, but instead they laid out options and helped me prioritize what needed to be done soon, and what could wait. Go here! They re the best.

I went here for many years when I had an older car. They always did a great job for a very good price. My newer car got to the point where it needed new brakes and they were so much better priced than the dealership, I also got a maintenance service I'd been putting off. A good mechanic you can trust is worth their weight in gold and I will always go here!

Was having engine issues that I think were from "repairs" another shop made. Was able to bring it in, and pick it up within 3 days. Staff was polite, honest, and helpful. Will absolutely be recommending them to others.

Amazing customer service! Heather was so helpful and kind. I called around to get a quote for new tires. This shop has the best prices. I had my car ready to go by the end of the day with all new wheels!

The team at Affordable Tire & Brake has been my go-to since I moved to Portland. They have kept my old Volvo running smooth. Their service is not only reliable but also remarkably honest and I am able to get my car in their shop in no time. They have a knack for diagnosing any issue accurately. They found the notoriously loud whistling sound (scream) some Volvos develop and fixed that quickly, before my car was sure to be banned from the city for causing a disturbance.

These folks could not be better. This was my third visit. One time my flat tire was repaired at no charge. Then a DEQ test. Quick and cheap. Finally an alignment and new windshield wipers. Will definitely be getting my next set of tires here.

Been coming to AT&B for years. Always get attentive, friendly service, and the quality of work is excellent! Have also never had a problem with tires purchased. Affordable still means a quality product!

This place was awesome. Heather was a doll. I highly recommend using them for a tire repair or replacement. They were affordable and didn t gouge me like some of the other brand named tire companies.

I have always experienced great service at Affordable Tire & Brake. I usually come in early winter to have my snow tires installed and then removed in the spring at the end of the season. Love the same-day service. I'm always greeted with a smile and everyone is very helpful.

I blew two tires and needed somewhere to tow the car, but wasn't getting paid for a few days. They said bring it in and we'll keep it a night or two until you get paid. Seriously? And then there was no real upsell or pressure. Very nice people. Kept my car inside overnight. They just earned my loyalty. Will keep coming back.

I ve been taking my cars here since it was recommended to me when I moved to Portland in 2015. They have been very reliable, exceptionally trustworthy, they communicate well, and listen great. For all my car care needs in Portland, this is the best place to go!

I cannot thank this shop enough. On moving day, I loaded up my car and found a nail in one of my tires. Called a handful of other shops in the area who said it would be hours before they could get it to in. Affordable Tire got it in immediately and quickly went to work. Their compassion and high level of service distinguishes them from other shops in the area. GO HERE!!!!

Unbelievable service! This is what a succesful small business in Portland looks like. While waiting for my car to get done, I spoke to Heather (who is super awesome by the way). I found out that they are a family owned business for over 20 Years in Portland. They were honest, understanding and affordable. I can see why their businesses sustained for this many years.

I had excellent customer service from my first conversation with Chris to Kayla to the technician. I thought I needed new brakes so I went to Affordable Tire & Brake Co. but after the technician checked my brakes he found I didn t need new brakes at all. They were just squeaking because they were wet. I did need some routine maintenance performed which was recommended by the Acura manufacturer. So I had it done while my SUV was in the shop. They kept me informed every step, as well as how much it would cost and why it was recommended. They were not pushy at all and did not oversell. I will use them for all future service needs that they perform. Also I got a nail in the tire of my SUV a week later, went into them and they fixed it at no charge. How they treated me and my vehicle has earned them a very loyal customer who by the way has shared this information with several friends I meet with regularly for coffee. Thank you.

If you are looking for an honest, down to Earth autoshop that lives up to the name, Affordable is it. I've been coming here for years now since trying to go "Green" and being left with a bitter taste after shelling out for what was promised to be superior service. The no-hassle folks at Affordable truly stand by their work. They will plan on your terms to get you the service you need within your budget. Expect them to let you know when they find something wrong--but instead of putting on the pressure--they'll offer reassurances, practical advice and workarounds. And in some cases even take care of it for no charge. They've fixed flats on tires they sold me for no cost. Replaced worn out parts no charge just because they could. Given knowledgable timelines for how long critical issues can wait to be addressed and actually reduced anxieties. They are constantly in high demand, and yet still have the attentiveness and patience to get my vehicle in while providing stellar customer service. Shout out to Heather, Hannah, Toby, Chris, Ken and everyone in the front office and the garage that make me feel like a part of the family whenever I come in.

Our 2nd time there. GREAT STAFF!! RATEs are GREAT. If they have coupons going on and you don't have one they go a head and apply it to ur bill. NOW THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!
