Rick s is simply the best mechanic I ve ever experienced! They always make sure to educate me on the service they provided and give me a heads up if anything else is concerning and may need work. I ve never had to go back twice for an issue, they always perform quality work on my CRV. Thank you Rick and Curtis!

I trust Rick and Curtis with any of our vehicles. 19 years ago I met Rick when my manual window had busted and I was pregnant. Not only were they the best price in town, but Rick noticed that my handle was broken and switched it with the working handle on the passenger's side for FREE and without me even asking. Fast forward to now, and these people are so genuine and straight forward they found bubbles in my son's tire during a routine oil change. A tire with bubbles can blow out at any time. I am so thankful for EVERYONE at Rick's, not only do they provide quality work but they provide very fair prices. As a woman, I am very thankful for Rick's and the service/quality/price/fairness that they provide our family EVERY single time.

I just want to say how much I appreciate the team at Rick's. I had a tough situation with my Subaru and they fixed it. They were friendly, helpful and did a great job. They have my vote as the go to company for foreign car repair here on the coast!Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

I was stranded at a hotel in Newport on a long road trip with a busted car, and I called a few places to get it looked at. Rick called me back, and although I told him the car was already being checked out at another shop, he took the time to give me some really great advice over the phone and a recommendation for the repair he thought I might need.He knew he wasn t gonna make any money on me, but he still took the time to help. That attitude of honest kindness likely pervades the rest of his operation. If I ever find myself in Oregon with a coolant-spewing Subaru again, I ll certainly give Rick a call.

These guys are good at their job. I would recommend them because there is no wait time and on top, they do get their work done fast. On top of that, they would tell me what I need to be done on my car. That was nice of them to do that. I would come back to them to fix my car when I need. The only thing I did not like was paying about $155 for the spark plug. I know they want to make sure I had the best part for my car, but I would like them to check with me about the price. Thank you guys very much for working on my car.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Tire rotations, Oil change

Walked into this business and the person at the desk who I assume is Rick , was very disrespectful towards my wife and I right off the bat and he had a extraordinarily condescending attitude that exuded a high level of arrogance and narcissism( the way he held himself and spoke to us ) . Would strongly suggest not doing any business with this company . If the face of the business looks this way the service must not look any prettier .

I was vacationing in Waldport in March when my Honda's' cooling system went awry. I had my car towed to Rick's where I received the best, quickest, most comprehensive service I've ever gotten from a repair shop! Rick went way beyond what anyone would ever expect, even providing me transportation between the towns for me! WOW...I can't say I've ever had such professional service! I strongly recommend them for any repair or maintenance on your import vehicle! These guys know their stuff & are honest & fair with their customers!Services: Auto water leak repair, General repairs & maintenance

CAUTION NEWPORT RESIDENTS DO NOT GO TO RICKS QUALITY IMPORT SERVICE IN NEWPORT, UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOUR BY YOURSELF & FEMALE, THEY TRIED SCAMMING MY MOM OUT OF $400+ FOR A JOB THAT TAKES LESS THAN 10MIN & THATS BEING CONSERVATIVE ON THE AMOUNT OF TIME!!! THE PART COST $98 ON AMAZON & UP TO $130 THROUGH OTHER ONLINE VENDORS, & WHEN MY AMAZING BEAUTIFUL MOM TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE HER $400+ I TOLD HER NOOO WAYY & THAT I WOULD TAKE THE PANNEL OFF AND LOOK AT THE WIREING TO FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE MYSELF, WELL SHE INFORMED ME THAT THEY ALREADY TOOK THE DOOR PANEL OFF THE DRIVER SIDE & KEPT IT AT THERE SHOP.... THATS WHEN I REALIZED WHAT WAS HAPPENING THEY'RE BASICALLY HOLDING MY MOMS CAR DOOR PANEL HOSTAGE SO SHE HAD TO COME BACK, GUARANTEEING A QUICK $400+ FOR A 5 MIN JOB!!! & IM SOOO NOT OKAY WITH SCUM LIKE THEM TAKING ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN THAT ARE CLEARLY NOT EDUCATED IN AUTO REPAIR! ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S MY FAMILY!!!IT TOOK ME LESS THAN 5 MINUTES TO TAKE THE DOOR PANEL OFF WHEN I INSTALLED NEW DOOR SPEAKERS, THEY WERE BASICALLY CHARGING MY MOM $300+ FOR THE SERVICE OF INSTALLATION THAT TAKES LESS THAN 5 MINUTES NOT COOL! SO I DECIDED TO GOOGLE THE PART WE NEEDED FOUND ONE ON AMAZON FOR $98 ON MY FIRST SEARCH & HAD MOM ORDER IT & I TOLD HER I WOULD GO AND PICK UP THE DOOR PANEL UP TODAY, SO SHE WOULDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM, WELL MY MOM BEING THE KIND SOUL SHE IS CALLED HIM AND ASKED IF SHE OWED THEM ANYTHING FOR THE 5 MINUTES SPENT REMOVING THE DOOR PANEL, & HE CHARGED HER $120.00 TO GET OUR PANEL BACK FROM BEING HELD HOSTAGE!!! SO I WENT TO GO GET OUR SUBARU DOOR PANEL BACK & EXPLAINED TO THEM IT DOESN'T COST $400+ TO ORDER THE $98 PART, TAKE THE PANEL OFF, UNPLUG & RE-PLUG IN A NEW PART AND PUT THE 5 SCREWS BACK IN TO HOLD THE DOOR TOGETHER & THAT THEY SHOULDN'T BE CHARGING MY MOM THE $120 FOR SIMPLY REMOVING A FEW SCREWS & PULLING OFF THE PANEL... WELL HE WASNT GOING TO GIVE US OUR DOOR PANEL BACK UNLESS WE PAID HIM THE $120.00 SO I GAVE THEM THE 120 AND PROCEEDED TO WALK OUT FRONT WHERE THINGS ESCALATED TO THE FRONT DESK GUY CALLING ME A F-ING PU$$Y & OTHER DEROGATORY NAMES BC HE WASN'T HAPPY THAT I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE SITUATION!! THEY WERE UNPROFESSIONAL & ABSOLUTE DESERVE A 1 REVIEW!!

I didn't know where to take my VW to get repaired because I didn't know any shops in town. After asking for recommendations from the community, Rick's was overwhelmingly recommended and for great reasons! Curtis was very professional and courteous, a hard worker and knows his information! He went above and beyond to help me, the charge was very fair and the service was excellent. I also spoke to Rick personally, and he is a hard working, smart business man that is proud to be a part of this community. Thanks to the both of them and whomever else worked on my car to replace my water pump! I am thankful I was able to support a local business instead of a chain, and I received excellent service and repair. Keep up the great work!

Our car broke down unexpectedly in Newport, and we took it to Rick's. It was a rather unfortunate scenario for us, as our car needed repairs that far exceeded the value of the vehicle. Rick was honest, recommended no repairs, AND waived the diagnostic fee. We received a referral to a reliable salvage service, and were able to dispatch the car quickly. In researching other providers in the area, this service would have cost us a 1 hr shop fee minimum elsewhere. Our mechanic in our hometown knew about the problem and allowed us to make repairs that were unlikely to solve anything. Had they given us as solid a treatment as Rick, it would have saved us a lot of headache in Newport, and they would have retained us as a customer. Go to Rick's for all your import needs.

I have been using Rick's for my vehicles' service and repair for many years, and they have always been fair, honest and do great work. They will tell you when something is necessary and, more importantly, when it's not. Great customer services (thanks, Curtis), and competitive pricing.

On 6/29/18 we were driving from Gleneden Beach to Agate Beach Golf Course and our Toyota Highlander started sounding unusual and we needed to find a repair service. As we drove toward Newport the oil pressure light came on. We pulled into the Oil Can Henry s location. They checked the car and determined the leak was in the oil cooling system and something they could not repair and the car would have to be towed. Talon Scruggs, Manager and his crew were extremely helpful providing the names and phone numbers for local auto repair services. Unfortunately, it was Friday afternoon before the Fourth of July holiday. We called the Newport Toyota service department who said they could not work on the car until next Thursday and that they would not have the part in stock. We then called 6+ repair shops who said they were not able to help until the following week. Since we had planned to return to Portland the next day this was a problem. When we called Rick s Quality Import Service Curtis said he was the only one working that day and he was busy, but could look at the car. If the problem was as identified, Curtis said he could work on the repair in a couple hours if the part was available. He advised us their shop is closed Sat and Sun. We arranged to have our car towed and Talon Shruggs took time to call the auto supply store to confirm that a replacement part was available. When we arrived at Rick s Quality Import Service, Curtis took our information and then with the assistance of Cameron the tow truck driver with Rowley s Towing got the car into the service bay. Curtis promptly confirmed the problem, and the availability of the after market part, however he said he did not like after market parts. Curtis said the repair should take about 1 hours if everything went as anticipated and quoted the price for the repair. As a backup plan we had reserved a rental car and if the Curtis was able to complete the repair in 1 hours we would know before the rental car store closed at 5:00pm. At about 4:00 pm Curtis advised us that there was a problem because the after market product was not properly designed and he could not tighten the last bolt to secure the part. He had tried all the tools in his shop and the only way to use that part require removing several other parts of the car engine which would be costly and he could not complete until next week. He had one alternative and that was to contact the Toyota Service to see if they had an original equipment part. Curtis called the part department at Toyota and they did have the part. Curtis drove to Toyota picked up the part and then returned to replace the after market part which required another hour, and then he had to resolve some warning codes that appeared when the car was restarted.Even though Curtis had more issues than initially anticipated he only charged us the amount of his original quote explaining the problem with the after market part should not be our problem. We are extremely thankful we found Rick s Quality Import. Not only did Curtis go the extra mile helping us on a Friday afternoon and working after hours, but he was efficient, advised us about things he observed about our vehicle and the cost of the work was very reasonable considering the extra effort that was required to complete our repair. We would highly recommend Ricks Quality Import Service.

We had a service done at Rick's and when we picked up the car there was a round stain on the dash that cannot be removed and a body plug left in the center console. The garage owner, a very surly individual, denied causing the stain or leaving the part uninstalled saying they were"too professional" to ever do that. If you get your car serviced at Rick's, be prepared to have parts left over and your interior damaged
