Outstanding service. I asked Thomas ( co-owner and technician ) why they always looked so clean after working on the cars. He answer was that s is how one looks if you know what you we are doing or know what to look for. And I have to say that him, his brother Rob and his team have lived to that statement when taking care of our car. Lola, greets us like a family. Indeed a cutting edge type of mechanical experience. Sincere and kind family. It is a pleasure to do business with them, from something major or just to an oil change.

We are moving and broke down on the highway. It was the end of the day and they were getting ready to close but they could get us in the following day. They were very accommodating and great customer service. They had the truck fixed the next morning and let us know of other maintenance things that would need attention as well. Highly recommend!

Ethan and his team are great! I have trusted them for over a decade now and with two vehicles. They seem to be fair, honest, experienced, and go the extra mile. The glass on the instrument cluster cracked. The Chevrolet dealer in town said we had to replace the whole cluster so we got online and found ISS. Gave them the vin number and within a few minutes they identified the part and informed me that it snapped off and on. The part fit perfectly as they said. The price was very good. The personnel at ISS are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Great place and I highly recommend.

I have an absolute lemon of a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, but Dan's auto made the situation far better for me. I had several major service repairs through Dan's, including repairs to the AC, engine oil leaks, full brake replacement, multiple oil changes/tire rotations, and a couple others.Their prices were always comparable to other repair shops, but the service was better. They get to know you by name, provide over and above service (I called accidentally on a Saturday and they returned my call even though they were closed), and communicate better than any shop I've ever worked with. I even bumped into some of them at dinner one night and they were happy to see me/provided an update on my car at dinner.I was so happy with Dan's, and I will really miss them now that I am moving out of Oregon. Take your care here. They will treat you right and perform quick and quality service.Services: Auto brake repair, Air conditioning

Wow what a great experience. Got some significant work done on my 2018 F150 here and they were absolutely wonderful. They had a loaner for me, communicated well, came in under budget, washed my car and filled the tank. Would 100% recommend Dan s to anyone that will listen.

Recently after having a bad experience at another Auto Repair business, I decided to give Dan's Auto a try. Thomas is the son of the owner , his brother also works in the shop . It is truly a family run business. From the moment that I called them on the phone to the moment that I picked up my 24-year-old minivan after repairs, I was blown away by their professionalism, attention to detail, honesty. When my car was up on the lift, Thomas and another mechanic explained to me what the highest priority down to the lowest priority in getting repairs done. I recently had the transmission rebuilt at another company and that has gone okay so far. At Dan's Auto I had them fix the intake manifold leak clean up the carbon in the upper parts of the engine known as the lower intake manifold. They also fixed an exhaust leak adjusted the rear brakes and gave the car a complete physical inspection. The bill was slightly more than expected but that's the way that it goes with automobiles . They are very thorough and then to my surprise they offered to give me a loaner car since it was over Thanksgiving week that my car was in the shop. They also gave me a 2-year/24 thousand mile warranty.Yesterday I got a follow-up text from Thomas wanting to know how the car was driving and to give them a call if there were any questions or concerns. This is why I gave this company a five-star review and also a very expanded reviewing.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!I was in a tight spot needing to have my car pass DEQ for car registration. After looking for service from the wrong, unhelpful repair shops, I luckily found Dan's Auto Center- just in the nick of time! A great family-run business, I trust them with accurate and reliable service. They even gave me rides to and from my home while my vehicle was being repaired. After they fixed the emissions issue, they brought it to DEQ and got it passed, registered for DMV, and a token car wash! They will now be my only place to go for any future service, and they'll be helping to keep me on a vehicle maintenance schedule. I can't thank them enough for taking all these extra steps to lift a great weight off my shoulders. So grateful for their friendly and exceptional service!

Excellent service. Thomas was able to get me and my 2010 Lincoln MKT in last minute on a Friday for some service. Service was performed very quickly and I had my car back within 5 hours. I had called around many other places before to see about getting in same day, and Dan's was the only place. I've been going to Dan's for 4-5 years now and they're the best mechanic I've ever had. They're honest, professional, and charge fair prices for quality work. When they inspect my car I can trust them to give a detailed list of what's wrong, and when it will need to be fixed. Just recently I was shopping for a used car and brought them 3 different vehicles all on short notice for pre-purchase inspections. They were able to fit me into the schedule within the hour, gave me a free loaner car while they worked, and saved me from buying a few bad cars. They even gave me the names of some honest dealers to try and I ended up getting a good deal on a reliable 2006 Toyota Highlander. Jennifer and Thomas have done great work for me with no nonsense. I have been in the auto business for 35 years.I repair 10 to 15 cars a month. I was recommended to this place by my Detailer one of the best in the NW.What a disappointment. Try to upsell me for 20 minutes. all I asked to do was fix the alignment that was pulling to the right. Probably a ten minute job. Not only did he not just make it better he charged me 120 dollars with no change in the issue at all!!!! Please look elsewhere !!!!!!

Gas thief drilled hole through fuel tank...Dan's Auto tracked down the hard to find tank for my 1995 Isuzu Trooper in one day and replaced for a very reasonable price. They also did a complete safety inspection and let me know what "Trooper" needed next. They are real pros and good people, always taking the extra time to explain what's going on with our cars. I highly recommend Dan's Auto.

These guys were stellar. I've had multiple different mechanics tell me they couldn't work on my Mustang because it wasn't factory. None of that shenanigans from Dan's Auto Center. So refreshing. They were professional from start to finish and had my 2007 Ford Mustang GT back to me quickly. After having my baby worked on by this shop it feels so much better to drive. I will be coming back soon to have more things serviced. So grateful for Dan s Auto Center and in particular, Service Advisor Thomas. We had a chronic mechanical repair issue that was bothering us for 2 years but cringed at the thought of going to the dealer. We have a 2008 Lexus 400h. Not only did they fix the problem, but did it while we waited and at a fraction of what the dealer would have charged!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Dan's Auto Center has been amazing to me. I have been going here for oil changes and I went today because something was wrong with my car, and they fixed it for free and put air in my tires which I didn't even know I needed. I trust them very much and will go back to them as long as I'm in Portland! They are very kind, responsive, and have a nice area to sit in while waiting for your car!

These guys are the best! They have been great about squeezing me in to get work done and working around my crazy schedule. They have always provided a clean and reliable loaner car while mine is repaired and that is huge for me. They are always upfront with the cost and do a great job of sticking to it. All of my repairs done here are completely professionally repaired and I never have to worry about a thing after. I trust Dan's Automotive completely, great results every time!

If I could give Dan's 100 stars, I would! I've been taking my car there for years and even though I've moved farther away, I won't go anywhere else for automotive care. Everyone over there is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. They all seem to genuinely care about the cars they service, but also about the customers who bring them in. I've had a couple of bigger problems with my car over the years, and every time I go to Dan's, I feel like I'm getting the straight scoop. I never feel talked down to. They explain things and help prioritize service that really needs to get done NOW as opposed to things that can wait a while, and I appreciate that so much. They want to do right for their customers. I feel lucky to have found such stellar people to service my car. They are top notch, from the mechanics to the owners. Thank you, Dan's!!

Me, my family and my relatives all use and like Dan's Auto. They took care of my 2006 Subaru more than a year ago and it's run great since then. This month I went back to them for a battery replacement and an oil change. Big thanks to Thomas; since I lived close he was able to drive out to me and jump the battery. That saved me having to rely on my insurance roadside assistance. They also let me use a loaner car while mine was in their shop.Nothing but good experiences, I'll definitely be trusting my car to them in the future.

Dan's auto center has been very professional with me. I've had them do work for me for years. They are very fair and up front about work that needs to be done. I've almost always been able to use one of their loaner cars, which is a huge perk!! Thanks for all your great work!!I just got my car back after some extensive work was done. THE BEST MECHANIC SHOP IN ALLLLL OF PORTLAND!!I TOOK MY 1987 Ford F-250 THERE AND THEY MADE SURE THAT MY CARBURETOR REBUILD WAS DONE PERFECTLY. NOT MANY SHOPS STICK TO THEIR WORD THIS SHOP IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

I m not sure if this business filters their reviews to keep just the positive ones s for customers because that s not the experience I had. I brought in my car with diagnostics that mazda had given me . Dan s is close for me from my work and the pricing was reasonable. After having the repairs done, my car issue was not resolved so I took it back to Mazda because I assumed their diagnosis was inaccurate. After having my car looked at by a Mazda tech , we came to find out that two bolts on shock absorber on the right were only half way bolted in. To Jenifer , this was not a major concerns because her response to me was oh I m sorry, idk what to tell you because that has never happened . Not only it threw off my alignment which I paid for but it could have caused an accident and potentially killed me or someone else. I asked her how she could fix this issue or maybe give me a partial refund. Her response was well you re at Mazda , they could tighten it , and she couldn t give me refund because it s not in their policy. Mind you I wasn t asking for much. I paid $1100 for my repair and at least $100 refund could have been something to apologize for a mistake that they made which was hazardous. This business holds no accountability for their actions and customer safety is not their concern nor a priory.Service: Steering & suspension repair

I had to take my vehicle out of a transmission shop because they were trying to take advantage of me. I called and spoke with Jennifer and they would not help me because the transmission was already out of the vehicle. Dan's Automotive was referred to me and she did not want to work on it because the parts were already off the vehicle.What is it today when no one wants to help others in a time of need.

Dan's Auto Center has been the top choice of my family for over twenty years. They perform quality service, have reasonable rates, and are honest with what your car really needs. They perform service quickly, and offer loaner cars for longer repairs. Jennifer is very friendly and helpful with figuring out your car's issues. I can't recommend them highly enough!

I have been taking my cars to Dan's for over 20 years. I have even bought a car from them. Everyone is always cheerful and helpful. The work is always done promptly. The work is always well done. They keep an eye on things and let me know what needs to be done and the cost before they do it. Jennifer has always been very helpful and friendly--I always like going in when she is around. I would highly recommend Dan's Auto to anyone.

I was looking for a shop to take my Chevy Silverado to, where I knew I would be treated fairly and I would get quality work done for a reasonable price. The Guys down at Dan's Auto Center were very prompt and CORRECT with their diagnosis of the issues (and potential future issues) that I was experiencing with my truck. Since I told them what my general driving habits were like (That's the Key wherever you go by the way), they were able to recommend things that weren't crucial for the average driver but were paramount to me and my driving habits. Like "the transmission fluid looks like it should be fine but since you tow a trailer on a weekly basis, you'd be way better off changing that now as opposed to waiting a few more weeks". Top notch and they call it how it is! I almost forgot, they picked up my truck and dropped it back off when it was completed!Thanks again, guys.

The people at Dan's Auto have truly great customer service. They provide great recommendations and do not try to oversell you on repairs. You can tell they want you to be safe in your vehicle. I've been going consistently for at least 20,000 of my car's mileage and when they took too long on one occasion they owned up to it and gave me a discount. Friendly people at the front desk as well.
