This is my kind of back country joint. I found it by accident while sb on 95. Got breakfast there and the Daughter in Law of the owner was the waitress/cook/shop keep. For the truckers there is limited parking for about 3 units. Then again, the traffic goes by at a reasonable speed and there is room on both n/s be ma to pull off and throw on the flashes........ assuming your company does not frown on that. Now the price may seem a little steep but you are out in the boonies AND the serving size is very generous.

Literally only 1 gas pump but that's all we need. Lots of space for our trailer to pull in. The bathroom was small and not the best kept in shape. Friendly staff. I wish we had time to order food since it smelled great with good reviews.

This place was a great little gem to stop at while in the area. I ordered the clubhouse sandwich with onion rings and was very pleased to find the onion rings were made from scratch! The food smelled so good and tasted good that I had to taste it and then once I started I couldn't stop. I almost forgot to take a picture before I finished it off! The place was also really nice inside and I would have sat down to eat but I had to order take out. It didn't take any more than 10-15 minutes for a wait and it was worth it, definitely recommend stopping by if you are passing through or in the area! Also a gentleman there recommended the chicken strips and burgers but the sandwich was really great.

All that we hoped for and more! Only one woman running the whole place and she was friendly, efficient and an INCREDIBLE COOK! Food was prompt and the service was with a smile. Hard to beat a place like this!! Rv park, restrooms, cafe and little store offers something for anyone on the road wanting to take a break!

Cute little place to stretch your legs and get a bite of food while catching up on the local gossip. I absolutely love the country charm. The food was pretty fresh and well cooked.I would definitely recommend stopping by some time.

Maybe I came at a bad time, but I spent probably over an hour there - most of it waiting for my food. The service was so-so, but the food really was amazing! Seriously the BEST bacon I ve ever had in my life! It s homely, small, and in the middle of nowhere. But worth stopping if you re hungry n have time to kill.

Stopped here for breakfast on our way to Reno. Was very satisfied with the food here, since there's literally nothing else remotely close, and eating gas stations snacks WAS NOT an option (I wanted REAL food). The dining area was small but cozy and nicely lit. There are a few tables as well as a couple bar type chairs up front (but are not high like regular bar chairs). I think this place would be very cozy and amazing in the winter time when there's snow on the ground and very cold out. Just has a very warm and cozy vibe to it. There are snacks inside (chips, cookies, beef jerky, etc) as well as some ice cream in a freezer all the way in the back. The bathrooms are not inside, but outside (on the side of the building, next to the outdoor eating area), and are very small and tight. They weren't too bad but could be a little cleaner. We ordered a traditional breakfast, which came with shredded hash browns, 2 eggs, toast, and chorizo sausage as meat. The other thing we ordered was the chorizo skillet, which came with the same as traditional except with the addition of shredded cheddar cheese and the chorizo sausage was cut up. Both were very tasty, and we happily ate this food over some gas station snacks. The food did take a while to come out, but there was only 1 guy working there doing everything. This would be a bigger deal if this was in a populated area, but this is in the middle of nowhere (with no cell phone service), so I'm just happy there's something hot and fresh out here. There are other amenities here (YES THERE IS GAS HERE), as well as an RV park and what looked like a couple cabin rooms to stay at.The 2 negatives for me are there were a TON of flies inside the dining area as well as the bathrooms. Perhaps one of those sticky tape fly catchers in a couple of corners would fix that. And the second would be the longer than usual wait for the food.Overall, this place is a STRONG 4, and I do recommend this for anyone traveling on 95. Safe travels everyone!P.S. there wasn't any cell phone service in the dining area OR in the parking lot, but I heard someone mention they got 1-2 bars out back, behind the building. Give it a try.

Great place. Diner and convenience store in front , RV park and motel too. Only $15 for the night with water and electric. Denise and the evening crew were great. Had a Cheeseburger and fries that were great. Breakfast with Sandy and the morning crew was just as good. Eggs, hash browns, sausage and toast. And a bottomless cup of coffee. Place to eat outside and enjoy the morning and views. Will be back again for sure

I'm from Reno and this past Friday I drove to Boise, Idaho. En route, I was told by a friend to stop by Rome Station for a milkshake and glad I did. If you blink though, you'll fly right past it. There's 3 different flavors: huckleberry, vanilla, and chocolate. Of course, I went with the more uncommon flavor of huckleberry as for traveling I thought chocolate would be too heavy and vanilla too plain. Huckleberry as is, has a subtle flavor to me and this hand spun shake was exactly that and perfect for the rest of my drive.

Where to start? My experience in the Rome area was FANTASTIC! I stayed in one of the on-site cabins for 4 nights, ate every meal at the cafe, and spent time with the locals. I went to Three Forks/Owyhee Hotsprings, Jordan Craters Lava Beds, the Pillars of Rome, and drove up to the historic mining town of Silver City, just across the border in Idaho. For starters, the cabin was great for the price ($50 a night!). It had a bathroom with shower, 2 beds, a small fridge and even a TV with satellite. When the handle on the shower had an issue with turning on the first morning, the maintenance man immediately came to look at it and said that he would have it fixed before I got back from my adventure to Three Forks in the evening (which he did have it fixed when I got back). The food at the cafe was very good quality and very reasonably priced (anywhere from $8-$13). Like I said, I ate every meal (breakfast and dinner) at the cafe and never once had a bad meal. The cafe is clean and the wait staff is very friendly. The owner, Joel, is also very friendly and helpful; he even brought out a Forest Service map to show me routes to neat places out there in the High Desert.Three Forks down in the Owyhee River Canyon was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, rivaling the rock formations in Utah even. Absolutely gorgeous. And the hot springs; what an adventure getting to them! TIP: Know where you are going, have high ground clearance, good tires (with a spare), 4-wheel drive, patience, extra food and water in your car, and be sure to only drive the looooooong dirt roads to the hot springs (about 40 miles in total) only when the road is dry or you will get stuck and there is NO cell phone reception to call for a tow/help. Most places out here are like this; just make sure you are prepared for very remote locations where you may see no other people and have no way of contacting anyone via cell phone. All in all, a great trip and a great place to stay/eat!!

Warm and cozy cabins along the river, with comfortable beds and shower wand. Great food and service in the cafe. Enjoyed dinner there and picked up some supplies too.

The food was great! However, it was far more expensive than I liked. I didn't think I got full value for my money. It is just a small diner with the diner atmosphere. Friendly and the experience was a good one.I rate it down to 3 stars because of the bathrooms. They were dirty and small. It was so small you don't have room to change your mind.I'd come back. Just don't use the bathrooms.

We stopped in for gas. Didn't get a chance to try out the food as we were trying to make it back home to Caldwell, Idaho after driving from San Diego. The gentleman that I paid for my water and Black Rifle Company Espresso was a a very hospitable and pleasant man. But my experience since moving to Idaho 2 years ago is that 98% of the people in this region are just good Ole down to earth people and after 60 years in California it's quite refreshing. For a state where the preach Love & Tolerance I'd say I hadn't seen a whole lot in the past 10 years.

Breakfast was excellent. Coffee was the best I have had in any restaurant in Idaho. Surprising for an out of the way place.

Don t stop here on any holiday weekend. Staff doesn t clean, they don t know what to do with too many customers. We were served ice cream with dirty fingers and no gloves. It was already melted too because they left the door open to the ice cream then they were confused on how to charge us so it took any extra 15 minutes to pay! So much for a quick road stop. They must not have anticipated the business but it was almost like we were on some old camera TV show! It was that much of a joke with the poor service and experience. We won t be returning.

Best damn Cheesburger I have had in at least 5 years. Was uncertain as to choice of entree, so when Chef asked what I wanted, I asked what he wanted to cook. "I make a purty good Cheesburger". "Lay it on me with onion rings".He makes better than good burgers, it was fantastic. I had forgotten just how good a good cheeseburger can taste. About the only Burger you can get anymore is through the fast food processed God only knows type. It tastes like cardboard and are only edible if you put on lots of mayonnaise. This cheeseburger was righteous. I jumped in it up to my elbows. Used to be able to find this type of place all around this country on all types of Roads. As our experience becomes more homogenized, every exit has the same five corporate food slop houses. A place like this really stands out, of course it's in the middle of nowhere which doesn't hurt as far as standing out goes, but more people need to eat this man's cheeseburgers and that's all I know. Actually, I know more than that, but this isn't about me.
