Excellent shop, these guys really are the best around! My wife and I have been taking our vehicle's to Taylor's for a few years now, and they've always gone above and beyond to help us out. Both Richard and Sam are not only great mechanics, but also very professional, fair and honest folks. I stopped by yesterday on a break from work because I was getting a weird noise from my serpentine belt. Sam dropped what he was doing, and came out to inspect. He diagnosed it as a worn out tensioner pulley. Richard advised me not to drive any further, and asked if I could leave my truck there for the day. Sam went above and beyond by giving me a ride back to work, and took care of my truck right away, in the midst of a seemingly busy day for the shop. When I picked up my truck later, the noise was gone, and the belt sounded much smoother, all for a fair price. These folks have your best interests in mind, and will go out of their way to keep your vehicles on the road! I have been sending friends to Taylor's ever since we found the shop, and will continue to do so. If you need work done on your vehicle, I can't recommend these guys enough!

My elderly mom made an appointment over a month in advance to have some work done on her car. She dropped her car off at the agreed upon time, but Taylor Automotive kept her car for a full week and did not do the work. My mom finally picked her car up because she needed it--obviously!Despite this experience, she called back to have Taylor do the needed work, because she wants to support small local businesses. She was told that she needed to make an appointment, and they were booking appointments a month out. It didn't make any difference that she had had an appointment before and the work hadn't gotten done. She finally called the dealership and had the work done there.

They did a great job with my car. After taking it to the local Toyota dealership and being charged an arm and a leg to be handled by my keys with still NO air conditioning. Taylor auto took the time to inspect it and found it rather quickly. They are honest and do a great job.

While driving along I84 our windshield wipers stopped working during a rainstorm. We pulled over in Hood River and were recommended by the 76 gas station to go to Taylor Automotive, which we did. Amazingly they stopped what they were working on and helped figure out the problem. They immediately left to go pick up the new part we needed and then replaced it. The part wasn't in the most accessible location to reach and replace but they got it done and we were very pleased to get back on the road again. Many thanks Taylor Automotive, you guys are great!

By far the best mechanic I've ever been too. Now I get why they're top rated, and everyone recommended them to me. Quick, friendly, and knowledgeable service, and my car had never run better when I got her back! They're pretty popular and can sometimes be booked out a month or two, but I promise they're worth the wait!

Was dispatched to go to Dayton, Wa for a fire call and my rig is broken down. These guys did absolutely nothing to help fix the situation

I've always a great experience with Taylor Automotive. They are honest, quick, professional, and their service is fantastic. With my busy schedule, it was difficult for me to leave the office to pick up my car. Richard brought my car to my work, which I so appreciated!!!! It may take a week to get on their calendar, but well worth the wait!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I will always take my car to Taylor automotive for mechanic repairs. On multiple occasions, they've fixed up my older Prius so it runs better, leaks less, runs quieter... Prices are fair and they're super honest if they're not 100% sure what the problem is; and they'll thoroughly explain what they're thinking. Richard and Chance are both great. There's a reason there can be a long wait to get your car in at Taylor...I think they're the best in town.

These guys are excellent. Chance and Richard went above and beyond to assist me with advice, service and other options. They did not ask for payment and allowed me to store my vehicle at their shop for over a week. Having car trouble is stressful. These guys were amazing as far as reducing that stress. I'm relatively new to Hood River, and Taylor Automotive was highly recommended to me for some front end work on my 2005 Tundra. They did not disappoint! Richard and crew did a fantastic job. They are running a very solid and honest shop here, I would highly recommend them.

A decent shop if your car isn't broken. I needed a coil replacement and new ball joints. On a whim I threw in a coolant system flush and replacement. 3 weeks later, I got my appointment and the price was only $1300. Fine work, roughly twice what it should have cost. Now the weather's better and I know better, so it's back to doing more of my own work. New radiator hoses were close to $200, must be gold or something. Sorry to find that shops now screw you on the price of parts. Live and learn.

A few years ago we were passing through town and our truck broke down. We didn't have alot of money and was visibly stressed out. These guys fixed my truck quick and got me back on the road.They only charged me their cost of the part and did the install for free. I've never forgotten this and it shows the heart of this company. I was so thankful and it literally saved our trip. Forever grateful to these amazing guys.

Richard and his crew are as good as you'll find. Nothing but great experiences. I have trusted them on many occasions with a wide range of vehicles and problems.I have reccomended him more than a dozen times, and I will continue to do so. It is great to see a small business in our town that REALLY cares about their customers. I look forward to working with Taylor Automotive in the future.

An emergency introduced me to Taylor Auto last summer. It was near. From the start I felt at ease. From the first phone call, I understood they were there to serve. Ever since, when the need arises, they respond as a staff, as a family, in a timely, clear, and effective fashion. Besides being good mechanics, they are generous, and you meet interesting people in the waiting room, whenever you need to wait. I remember good conversation, as well as great repair jobs, when I think of Taylor Auto where "service" is more than a word.

Took my truck in for a comparison quote from another local shop. Instead of quoting the repair, Richard diagnosed the noise to a simple sticker that was hitting a piece of metal. After removing the loose sticker the noise went away and saved me several thousand dollars. Will definitely go back to Taylor Automotive the next time I need work done on my truck.

I wish I could give these guys 6 stars. Excellent work, friendly and courteous. This is old school customer service at its best. I was traveling and they got me in and out extremely quickly, and provided an extra safety check. Highly recommended.

Coming back home to Kennewick from the Oregon coast and my daughter's check engine light came on and then starting sputtering. We swapped vehicles and I drove it to Taylor Automotive. This guy was already working on a SUV and I asked him if he could check the engine light. He said no problem and spent 5 mins helping us out. He was able to tell us what had happened and get us back on the road within minutes. Very appreciative for his help and I would definitely recommend coming here to get your vehicle serviced. My break fluid was leaking and I was heading out of town to go home (~3hr drive) and I was worried I d be stuck there another day but they fixed it in about an hour! Super fast, affordable, and professional. I definitely recommend!Service: BrakesService: Brakes

Richard and his team are a pleasure to work with. He was able to problem solve the vibration problem in my Dodge Ram and went the extra mile to get it fixed. I appreciate his integrity and his professional approach in servicing my vehicle. He is my go-to mechanic.

Had a gas leak in my Dodge Caravan that we had taken to two other shops with no luck tracking it down. Not only did they see me on very short notice, but they tracked it down and fixed it within a few hours, and barely charged me for it. Simply put, these guys are now my go-to mechanics.

I highly recommend this place. Richard accurately addressed my concerns line by line on the invoice, and I left with no worry that they forgot to do something. The repair was done quickly despite being last-minute, and cost way less than I thought it would. They were courteous both in person and on the phone.

I found Taylor Automotive by asking as many locals for recommendations as possible, and the name kept coming up. I brought in a car with a hard-to-diagnose clanking sound. They not only found the problem, but refused to charge for the additional labor when the first fix only partly eliminated the noise. After everything, the noise was totally gone. Not only that, but the final bill was $100 less than they original estimated. Very upstanding operation and I'll be coming back for any future needs.

They helped me diagnose a piston misfire code by switching the coil pack on the bad cylinder for no charge. Great service!

Fun store with lots of interesting items! Great staff and usually not too crowded! The deli offers great food to go with dining in still an option.

The best mechanic I've ever used or heard of. Honest, kind, full of integrity. This is the place to take your car!
