Here you have a small town restaurant located right off Interstate 5 in Halsey, Oregon. When my group arrived we were promptly seated at a table and our drink order was taken. The restaurant was not busy, our group ordered a variety of food from the menu, and everyone commented it was cooked as it was requested. Our service was decent but could have been a little better. I'll be back in occasionally when I pass through Halsey.

In my recent visit to this unassuming truck stop diner, the rib eye steak stole the show with its succulent texture and robust flavor, earning a commendable rating of 4.7 out of 5. The fried calamari also impressed as a noteworthy appetizer. Unfortunately, the seafood special fell short, particularly the lackluster oysters. Nonetheless, the service, led by Jessi, was impeccable amidst the bustling atmosphere. Overall, while the highs of the rib eye and calamari shone through, the experience warrants a modest 3 out of 5 rating.

07/08/2023 visit: Came in for breakfast and they were semi busy but still seated us right away. Breakfast options were good and delivered in a timely manner.Headed back up to Beaverton from a Ducks game and wanted to eat dinner at a place along the way.We were seated right away. Not sure if they were short staffed but we did wait a while till a server took our order and we didn't mind. Our meals were a nice portion and flavorful. The center cut pork chop dinner was surprisingly flavorful! We will definitely come here before and/or after a Ducks game!

They have commercial vehicle parking and regular car parking which is great because my dad drove his semi truck and could park. The hot chocolate was yummy! The food was absolutely amazing, I loved the cheese omelette and pancakes they had. The cheese just melts in your mouth, so good! Also the tacos were great! Will come again next time!

The place was pretty much empty when I walked in so I don't know why a Denver omelet took so long. I could see a pool of grease on my plate as soon as it was set down. The cooks didn't notice it my server didn't notice it as I dumped the grease off my plate and onto a couple napkins. When my server came back she asked if there was something wrong like she couldn't see what the problem was. I showed her what the problem was and she said she would get it fixed. I told her no that's ok I don't have time for that I'm not paying for a plate of grease. I was charged three dollars for a cup of Pepsi and she took the food off my bill.

A nice big truck stop and restaurant and hotel I would give it 5 stars but for the the truck fuel pumps and the gas station are run down and beat up. Also could enlarge the truck entrance got some metal poles making it harder to drive a truck safely.Look forward to coming back here again!

This is my favorite place to eat. Great truck stop breakfasts and the biggest servings of locally sourced bacon around. They even offer gluten free bread, which means you are able to get gluten free French Toast, which is delicious and a real treat. We ve always had good service from friendly employees, as well. Definitely worth the drive from Eugene for brunch! (We ve always come for breakfast and brunch so that s all I can comment on)

Fading glory. Original owners sold out, new owners are from India. The place is showing its age. The TV room has no TV, and neither does the theater. The restaurant's vaunted steaks are way overpriced and thin. The waitresses are very good. There is dry wall tape dangling from the ceilings. About 70% of the showers are marked "out of order". On the plus side: the shower rooms have a real French bidet AND bathtubs. By India standards, this place is good. By USA standards, it's a fading relic.

It's a truck stop... Our waitress left twice to smoke, we could see her outside smoking...Everyone was nice, the food was decent and we got our food fast. It wasn't horrible but wasn't amazing.

Overall, I think this is a place that takes itself just a little too seriously and is a bit too heavy-handed with being an obvious money grab.Meals seem fairly reasonable at a glance until you realize they aren't accompanied by the normal sides. If you order an entre you receive a potato, salad, or soup as a side, and must purchase anything additional as a separate standalone menu item.Do you want vegetables with your liver and onions? Fork over another $6 peasant. For a place where the per plate price is hovering around $18-$30 per guest, the service is fairly lackluster. While polite, there is seemingly no hostess or process in place for attending to guests. After waiting for roughly 20 minutes to be acknowledged, watching several others walk off, I eventually decided to walk up to the center area by the bar and announce myself. After perhaps another five or six minutes, I was finally greeted. The server was a cute friendly girl but knew nothing about the menu items. I placed my order to-go, and in a fairly reasonable amount of time, a meager portion was brought to me in a Styrofoam container. The picture is attached. The sad looking vegetables apologetically flung into the container were as unpleasant as they appear. Lacking gravy, seasoning, and having taken on a rather odd spongey texture, they seemed the afterthought of an anti-roast beef madman. When I picture roast beef and veggies, I imagine tasty slow-cooked meat and sauce with equally slow-cooked vegetables along with it for flavor and accompaniment. This was much like very good hospital food. The gravy was excellent, the meat was tender and surprisingly delicious, and I was fairly surprised with the meal as the looks initially had me expecting to throw it out.The real MVP here is the super nice and funny lady at the travel lodge, she can't help you with the restaurant, but her winning attitude and far too expensive but delicious truffles offer a bright spot to this otherwise mediocre establishment.

Just off the Interstate 5 in Oregon. After good night's stay at the Travelodge, we are up bright and early for breakfast @ Pioneer Village Restaurant. They open early at 5am along the I-5, family oriented, clean, plenty of parking, children's menu available + high chairs prices reasonable, bar / saloon in restaurant also a gas station on site

A good place to stop for a bite and to stretch your legs on a road trip. The staff was friendly, the food was pretty good. The salad was so drowned in ranch it was barely edible. I still recommend dining there. I'd say it is exactly what you can expect from a 24 hour highway diner. I bet breakfast would be the best meal to eat there.

Even though this might be considered a Truck Stop... Many locals, including me, frequent this place. Taco Tuesday is a killer, very good tacos for a very reasonable price. Three tacos for $6. But they are REALLY good!. Discounted margaritas too, I think. Friday and Saturday prime rib is also a good value, always good. Excellent Ribeye steak, but priced accordingly. Good assortment on the menu, great desert, and reasonable drinks. If you don't have minors I recommend eating in the bar, just don't take my seat! Haha

Besides the potholes out back it would have been 5 stars. Let's talk about the elephant in the room. The Overload Burger, 1 pound of meat, with grilled onions and the fixings joining a bowl of ranch to cover your fries. Cooked to order this behemoth had me and my dog stuffed 2/3 of the way. About 20 bucks total without a drink, but well worth it. Order takes about 15 minutes.

Tasty comfort food at moderate price. Caters to carnivores, but some vegetarian fare also available. Limited senior menu available. Friendly wait staff. Disabled accessible parking, entrance, and seating. Next door to the Travelodge, very adequate for an overnight stay, and 76 gas station with Pioneer Deli and food mart. Separate bar at end of building. Menu shown in photos. Large parking lot for semi truck drivers on on one side, passenger vehicle parking in front.

I took my son here tonight. While waiting to be seated we waited probably 10 minutes to even be asked how many people were in our party. Then after ordering there was another (adult) customer who was playing a shooting game on his phone that was so loud the whole resturant was looking around trying to figure out where the obnoxious noise was coming from. The staff didnt ask him if he could lower the volume because it was disturbing other patrons. I actually spoke up and let him know that it was disturbing others, but politely. He got a kids meal in which drinks come free (remember this). Then I ordered a burger and tots and extra side of pickles and said "I want a ton of them." And she replied, Like a bowl?" And I said, "yes."When the burger came I was given only ketsup not mustard. And the burger it self was so dry from being over cooked i needed more moisture to just gag it down. And 5 pickles on my plate. I asked for the pickles I ordered. They brought me back a bowl with 6 more pickles in it. Now mind you I don't mind paying extra for the extra pickles, so why are they skimping on what I asked? Then I had to get up and fund mustard myself because nobody checked on or or even asked how we were doing once our food came. Then when I got the bill I find out they charged me for my son's free kids meal drink. You know a mistake or forgetting a condemant I can look past but this was just far too many mistakes and rude behavior all the way around.

I've had a great time with the courteous staff at the bar, to order food, & the motel. Very friendly front desk ladies. My problem is with the Chevron station on this property. The motel is open today during the snowstorm on 1/14/2024.I was able easily get a room to work nights in Halsey for 3 days. However today (sunday) during the snow & ice, the restaurant & the bar were both closed, so we couldn't order food at either. Although last night from the bar I ordered a cheeseburger with fries, that were excellent. So people were saying that the Chevron 50 yards away on the truck stop property, had their Deli open. When I got there, the man at the back register pointed me to the deli up front. I meandered my way up there, to find two other gentlemen waiting to order also. But no one to serve from the deli. I motioned for the back register fellow, to see if he could get a start with the the first two fellas. He said no he could not, but if we wanted corn dogs, he could serve those & ring them up at his back til.I asked everyone where the deli attendant was, they all pointed outside to the propane tanks.Turns out the deli attendant was out there pumping propane & not attending his deli post.2-3 other customers came to the deli also, only to get upset when they learned where the deli guy was at. I waited a total of 15 minutes & still no deli attendant, so I left.I went straight across I-5, to the Shell station, & got what I couldn't get at Chevron. Here's my question Chevron, is it commonplace at your location, to have your deli attendant, with customers waiting to order from the said deli, outside pumping propane, then come inside ( at sometime) & handle deli meats & cheeses for sandwiches? If it is, please let us all know now, so we can never visit your establishment again.JB.

Stop to fuel up, cheery people ... only big down fall for me is those big trucks leaving that parking lot they wait till the last minute to pull out or wait till you are close to the driveway & you have to slam on your brakes I don't know how many times I have come close to T-Boning those trucks ... for whoever goes there be careful & watch for those trucks because they don't pay a whole lot of attention

Afternoon dinner out at Pioneer Villa. My wife had the Chef Salad it was fresh and delicious as usual. I tried the Hot Roast Pork Sandwich. I was initially excited about it, but ended up a little disappointed. The meal came with soup or salad, so I got the tomato Bisque for starters. Tasty. The main course arrived, slices of hot roast pork on two triangles of wheat bread topped with brown gravy. Mashed potatoes and a nice vegetable mix for sides. Also a tiny plastic cup of applesauce, I suppose for dessert. Veggies, mashed potatoes were fine, but I started to wonder about the pork roast. It looked and tasted more like turkey, but the waitress said it was definitely pork when I quizzed her about it. At any rate, the meat was not quite as tender as I would have liked. Just kind of ho hum. Balance of meal was good, and service was efficient. We like Pioneer Villa and drive the few miles from Corvallis to go there.

The pioneer Villa is an excellent place for breakfast. We are seniors and the senior menu has some excellent selections at very affordable prices.Be sure to try the bacon, it is excellent. Our waitress was Amy and she didn't exceptional job of keeping the orders straight and filling our coffee cups and getting whatever we might need. We will be back.Dietary restrictions: I have gluten intolerance and they have gluten-free pancakes that they will make on request.

Large parking lot for both civilian and commercial vehicles. However, the commercial lot is pretty muddy at times. The restraunt is average with pleasant staff. The gift shop is cute and has a variety of souvenirs and knickknacks. The truck stop side could definitely use a makeover. The facilities are out dated and the store needs to get better coffee machines that are available at all times. This is the only place that I've seen where the woman's restroom offers a selection of novelties. I myself have never tried any, but it is nice that management thinks of both genders when stocking items.

The food was great! BUT the waitress had the personality of a gold fish. Waitress went out to smoke and came back in to serve my food, smelling like an ashtray. Girl at the front desk asked how my food was. I began to answer with a compliment but she immediately interrupted my response to continue her conversation with her friend at the counter and never heard my answer to her question. So why did she ask??? Worth stopping for the food. Don t expect great service though.
