I've had a positive experience at this shop so far. It seems like a dude who likes cars who owns a business rather than a person looking to make money through whatever is most lucrative. They're nice, easygoing people who will treat you fairly and honestly and maybe make a few dad jokes. Also, gotta love that bearded dragon. They are not very good with the phone calls/messages. Best to drop in and ask for a text and communicate with them that way.

We had a repair around Christmas at another mechanic who forgot to clamp an important hose back on. Oakmont squeezed us in and had us back on the road in short order. They were very friendly and turned what could have been a crushing day into a peaceful one. The car is working perfectly now.I'd give them an extra star for their iguana that you can pet, but they already earned five stars.

Always great customer service. The mechanics are honest, and they stand by their work. I recommend this shop to anyone who needs to have their vehicle fixed. I will happily drive the 45 minutes to go to this specific shop.

I was taking my car here for several years and initially was very happy with service and prices. However, a little over a year ago my car overheated. I took it to them to look at and they charged me a fair amount but indicated everything was evaluated and fixed. 3 months later my car overheats again - when I m out of town getting ready for my wedding day. I had to take my car to Midas in a pinch just so I could drive it back home to Eugene. I called Oakmont and explained what had happened and they said I could bring it in for them to look at but if my car wasn t actively overheating they likely wouldn t be able to identify the problem. This seemed ridiculous and at this point I was concerned about paying more for a temporary fix and had lost trust in them. I took my car to Randall s Automotive and they evaluated my car and turns out my head gasket was blown and that was the issue. Great shop. Honest, moral, professional, and efficient. They always take care of my car and don't over charge me. My car had starting issues. Instead of charging me for a new battery they saw the battery was still under warranty from the mfg, so they went through the trouble of getting warranty to take care of it, which I didn't know was still available. They lost a lil money but gained more trust!

I consider myself very lucky to have found Oakmont Service Center. It's darn near impossible to find an honest, helpful, reasonable and down to earth mechanic. Mike and Jerry will always go above and beyond to chase down the source of a problem; large (air conditioner compressor) and small ( weird noises). Every single employee at this business is pleasant and professional. Haven't gone to the dealer (starts with K) but once since I moved to Eugene in 2018. And that's been a blessing, because the service there is-like most dealerships-very expensive and very impersonal. Kudos to Oakmont Service Center for keeping it real.

After our auto repair shop closed unexpectedly during the pandemic, we found Oakmont Service Center in Eugene after trying out a couple of Volvo repair shops. We didn t need service yet, but already have a very good impression of the owner, Mike. Our car s defective battery was installed by the previous mechanic less than two years ago, after calling insurance roadside services to jump the car three times, we were told by a chain company that we needed a new battery. We checked with Mike. He told us to go to ASP to carry out the battery exchange. We did it without being out of pocket for any extra money. It is hard to find such an honest and helpful mechanic nowadays. We will be a loyal customers. BTW, Mike and James at ASP were super nice and helpful, too.

This is a great place to go if you need work done on your car. Mike is an honest and genuine mechanic. I brought my SUV in after wrecking it in the snow. He had my car back to me way quicker than an other shop had quoted. He even Fixed my head light for me that was not even part of the job. I will definitely be going back in the future. They gave me the best price for replacing my clutch after I got quotes from several other locations in Eugene. They don't price gouge you or tell you to make unnecessary repairs. Les Schwab said I needed struts replaced, but when I took it into Oakmont they said my current struts still had some decent life in them. Stopped by recently because my check engine light was on, and they quickly diagnosed what triggered it and sent me on my way without charging me anything. I absolutely love this shop! I first started coming here to support a friend who started working in the shop about 10 years ago and quickly came to appreciate everyone. They are honest and fair, values you don't see often anymore! Very honest and friendly. I called with an idea of what I thought the problem was they quoted me a price over the phone I made the appointment and was in within 2 days . Once they got my car they further tested it to make sure that was in fact the problem before they went ahead and did the work anyway. They were efficient and thorough . The price was competitive. The very best experience I've ever had with a mechanic shop in this town by far. Highly recommended to all of my friends and family.

Towed my car there the day before my appointment With them to fix my breaks, over a week later they fixed it. Shocked I owed $1250 mike was nice enough to worked with me on the price I was thankful. I ended up paying $1088 and started to drive it home and broke down couple blocks away. The car died so thought I had a dead battery so I went and got a new battery only to find out my alternator is now bad. Just find it strange my car broke down 3 blocks after leaving the repair shop and I never had a problem with the alternator before. Car is still broke down just have a new problem now.

My husband was doing work in Eugene on a Friday (lives on Portland) when he found his radiator was cracked. Jiffy lube recommended Oakmont, and he went to Oakmont Friday afternoon.Had it not been fixed, he would have been stranded in Eugene over the weekend. The team at Oakmont was amazing. They fast-tracked his service since he was out of town, and somehow they were able to hunt down the part for him.They busted themselves to fix his rig (Ford explorer) late on a Friday, and he was home Friday night instead of being stranded in Eugene.Also, the prices were extremely fair and honest. They could have really upped the price due to him being stranded, but they were honorable, ethical, kind and just great people. They treated us like family.Thank you so much Oakmont! My only wish is that you were in Portland, as you would be our go-to shop for all future repairs!A++ for Oakmont. They treated an out-of-towner with honor, Integrity and genuine concern. I had a great experience with Oakmont recently. I've had a persistent Check Engine Light and after reading some reviews it seemed like Oakmont was the best place to take it. I did a early morning drop off and it was easy and straightforward. Got a good information and they took an initial look at it, called me, and then said they'd take a second look at it to continue to diagnose further/more specifically. They did this and were able to pinpoint the problem exactly. They didn't charge me anything for all of this and said they'd call around for parts/prices. I was amazed that I got all this for free and look forward to taking my car back in to get this issue corrected once and for all!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I raly wanted to give 5 stars. And may in the future. I wan a give them a second chance. Honestly all in all I was pleased. And it's TRUE they do seem like they wanna help and not overcharge which I appreciate so much! They were super helpful and fit me in even earlier than planned. The ONLY thing that gets me a little down is when I picked up my car there was a $30 piece missing from the bumper. I had to acquire and ask about it, and I was given a very unsatisfactory response. It was as if the piece was never there at all. I just dont see how a plastic piece just disappears. :( anyway I tipped $20 and then had to spend another $30 on a new bumper insert cause nobody ever called me back about it.I truly appreciate their hard work, but at the same time I entrust my car to you and dont want to get it back with pieces missing.I hope the owner reads this and isn't mad at me but maybe puts a protocol in place for pieces of cars to not go missing in the future.Thanks again guys, I would still recommend them!

There are people who have plenty of money to throw at their cars and then there are people like us who are just trying to get by. Between my partner and I, we had two cars and neither of them were working. Mike was honest and fair. We weren t able to afford all the work that needed to be done on our cars, so he made some suggestions on what could be done so we could have functional vehicles to get us going. Not only did he get our cars back up and going, he did some extra things on the side at no extra cost. Little things like tightening the hand brake cable while he was already working on our brakes. He went above and beyond what we have come to expect from the big name auto repair shops.He said he was able to get us a discount on parts (because business was slowing down for the parts supplier due to the virus) and I noticed he also applied a discount on the work he did for us. This meant a lot to us because we were considering skipping meals so we could have vehicles to get us to work and school. With hard times looming in the future Mike and the guys at Oakmont Service Center were a truly blessing to us. We appreciated the work they did for us and will be coming back again.Our sob story aside, the guys at Oakmont Service Center are good people. We learned a lot about them while we were waiting in the lobby. Mike (the owner) is a father of two and he served in the Military. If you want to support a local business Oakmont Service Center is a great one with good people!

My experience was bittersweet since it looks like my car will need to be salvaged. The owner was able to get my vehicle into the shop on a last minute notice, and after a single day turnaround my car was diagnosed with a failure at the car's main computer. My car is a 2004 Honda Element so it's pretty old, and not entirely unexpected but that doesn't help swallow the truth that it might be time to call the junkyard. I'm not sure why but the owner ACTUALLY WAIVED MY DIAGNOSTIC FEE!I was ready to pay it, but he told me "we're good." This seems like a special place to get your car worked on. The owner seems like a good dude... I had a faint vibe maybe he was Christian? Anyway... bittersweet but this is the best circumstance I could wish for to retire my Toaster.(Thanks again guys for your kindness) Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

I am amazed at the terrific job Oakmont has done with both my older cars over the last 3 years. The work they do is reasonably priced, done quickly and ready on time. They're always looking at how to save their customers money on both everyday service or major repairs. They honor their estimates and don't recommend extra work needlessly (which is not the case with many of the auto repair shops I've tried). I'd recommend Oakmont to anyone who needs auto work done

Incredible service, knowledge and kindness displayed by all workers. I ve lived in Eugene for 4 years and would never consider taking my car somewhere else. The last time I brought my car in, I was unable to drive it back to my house due to it s condition. One of the workers drove myself and two friends back so we wouldn t have to call a cab. You will NOT regret taking your car to this establishment. Do yourself a favor, go to Oakmont. :)

I desperately needed a major tune up done on my car and I was told by a friend of mine that this place did really good work and that I should take it to them. I was worried about the cost and the time frame but she reassured me that my cost would not be too much and that the parts were of great quality. So I took my car in and was greeted right away and told that they would take a look at my car and get back to me regarding what needed to be done and how much money it would take to get the car in top notch condition. It was about an hour after I took the car in when they called and told me all of the things that needed to be done which I expected because of how the car was running. In all the price, the committment of the Technichians, and the customer service from the folks in the office was by far the best I have ever encountered. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone I know and I will definitely be going back for all of my maintenance on my vehicle. Very satisfied customer here!

I called on Tuesday to ask about parts and repairs, which they confirmed they had and I made an appointment for Wednesday. The guy over the phone said it would take about 3 hours to get it fixed for that day.I get a call on Wednesday telling me they didn't have the parts they needed and that I would have to wait until Thursday morning them to get there. I asked to double check and he called back saying "maybe by Friday if you're lucky". I told him not to do any repairs and I'll get my car in the morning.Thanks for wasting a few days of my time and making me walk for 2 days for no reason.

I love my truck but have had an electrical problem with it since the day I bought it. These guys figured it out and came up w a practical, reasonably-priced solution. A+++ work, highly recommended!

Had to replace the alternator in my daughters VW Beetle. The made the repair in one day at a very reasonable price. I went in here blind since it was near a daily morning appt. The owner , Mike James did put my car up on a lift, and point out how a tow truck driver has hooked up a cable to the trailing arms and bent them. He recommended that and 4 lateral arms, i needed two. When I got home, the drivers window would not stay up because the rubber channel had become all twisted. I took it in for them to look at it, and Mike James thought it might simply be that the pulley had broken. Without calling, the shop went and installed a motor which cost $150. I would have simply wedged it shut. Hell I had three other windows that worked. I then got an estimate about the front end . I was told the rack and pinion was shot, and it would cost over $600 to fix it. I did not need a rack and pinion, I needed a controlling arm -cost $150.It could have been an honest mistake; it could have been fixing something that did not need fixed, which many shops do. In his favor, Mike James did put the car up on the lift and show me what was wrong with the rear end.The place seemed disorganized. They have opened another shop near Staples, the Oregon Service Center. Oakmont does not seem to have a service mgr, but the personnel all do that, and i suspect breakdowns in communications occur
