After being stranded by a blown radiator, the team at Mac s in Eugene Oregon got me back on the road again immediately. Their customer service was phenomenal. They actually waited for a tow truck to deliver my vehicle, even though closing time was rapidly approaching. The team was friendly, and the cost was fair. Due to their workmanship, my vehicle and I returned safely home, clear on the other side of the state. I recommend Mac s to anyone needing automotive repair work.

Macs was great! Not only were they willing to take on my 84 Coachmen RV (which many had told me no), they diagnosed the issues quick and had her ready in just a couple days. They also did a few extra freebies like fixing a fuel line, welding a radiator hose, etc. Work was also finished under estimated quote. Great experience !Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Oil changeServices: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Oil change

Amazing customer service. Very knowledgeable crew. The last three times I have been in I had very serious issues with my van. Every time they were done way before they projected, the cost was never more than projected, and in one case they saved me a several hundred dollars. My biggest fears are I take my van to a place that will do work that is not necessary, I get overcharged, and the work is shoddy.....These guys have proven themselves. I highly recommend them.

Edit: Eugene locationBrought in a radiator for a pressure test, I already knew it was leaking, assuming I would be shown where it was leaking from. Was told it would be $40 when dropping it off; however upon picking it up the guy in the front tried charging me $60 and took him two trips to find my radiator. I told him I was quoted $40 and he said the least he could do was $40.60. Upon the radiator being brought to the counter I asked where it was leaking from. There were no markings on it, nor were there any notes. Guy told me he didn t know and that the technician had already left for the day, this was maybe 1-2pm at the latest, and wouldn t be back until the following Tuesday. Internally I decide it is what it is grabbed the radiator and left. Went to the local brew station grabbed stoppers to plug the inlet and outlet and the fill port. Was able to pressure test on my own for $11 since I had a bicycle pump and ball needle already, and was able to mark where the radiator was leaking from. About a week later I call back asking if they would be able to replace the core in the radiator and was told yes, but it s expensive. I semi chuckle and say it can t be any worse than a brand new radiator. Get asked how much they are so I say $500. Dude tells me to buy a new one and that they would charge $1500 - $2000 for the core replacement. I m sorry but this screams we don t want to work on your stuff or we really don t know how to weld aluminum. I ve heard great things about Mac s in Portland, but from this point on I wouldn t even go here for an air check on my tires.Oh and upon receiving the radiator oil had been spilled all down both sides of the core.

Hi, I actually had a really terrible experience here. Everything was okay at first, but I got my oil change on wednesday and didn't drive much until friday. Then, going on a long trip to a friend's wedding, my engine overheating light flashed on while I was on the highway, following with my check engine/vsc/trac off lights. Looking into my car, radiator fluid was EVERYWHERE. Luckily, I know a bit about cars and noticed the reservoir was full, but the pipes were dry. Some coolant later, and my car was okay. This was all due to someone not closing the radiator fluid cap all the way, so the glue in it melted, and fluid spilled everywhere/the pressure was not sufficient for the coolant to leave the reservoir. I had to buy a new cap, funnel, fluid, and totally missed the wedding, not to mention the strain it put on my engine, the hours it wasted, and the future problems it may cause. Update after owner response: I routinely check my car and make sure everything is in order. So your guys must have tried refilling the reservoir, my cap was closed before. It was not low when this happened, it was actually full but all the fluid in the engine was dispersed.

I feel the best place in town to get a care worked on and if they are not set up to do what you needed, they will send you to just as good of place to get the work done.

I took my vehicle to the Eugene location and I appreciated every aspect of working with these guys. I brought in my SUV to have the radiator replaced, as well as my front brakes. The guys were quick with the repairs, even though there were some slight delays due to part orders. They made an extra push to get me my car before the weekend came (was a Friday) that I truly appreciated! They were friendly and easy to deal with and I feel I paid a fair price for the work. Definitely appreciated the extra effort they put into my vehicle!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto brake replacement

The person who waited on us was not friendly (very curt and terse). He took our brass and copper radiator and held it for over two weeks then told us it would cost $1800 or more to repair it. I had a similar experience with the Bend, Oregon branch with another copper and brass radiator I took to them. I believe Mac s Radiator has lost its ability to work on legacy radiators and can only install new radiators and perform cooling system flush service. The customer interaction is not a happy or pleasant experience.

Mac's and Jason are basically my car gods. We found ourselves in a difficult situation with our car broke down in a highly congested area. Jason quickly got a tow truck there, did a diagnostics and had a plan within the hour. In addition to being clear what the problem was, they had a rapid fix and eased our stress. During the entire situation I was confident Jason and Mac's had our back, primarily because I was out of town and the situation was being managed by my kid, who was moving back to school -- his willingness to keep me update with many phone calls was immeasurable. You can imagine the stress not being there. He also put my son to ease, his first experience with a car breaking down. Thank you Jason and team.

Got a Groupon for 4 oil changes, because I've been too busy to do it myself.Made appts quite a few days in advance, yet every single time, he waited till I was in the shop to order the filters. Each time, took at least an hour for them to get delivered. I can do an oil change in less than an hour, including the time it takes going to buy the filters. The last time I was there, he claimed the thermostat and water pump were in dire need of replacement, said it'd be over $700 and about 4 hrs of labor to replace them.I bought a new thermostat and pump (less than $60 total), and replaced them myself in under 2 hrs. The parts I removed are in excellent condition, not even remotely close to the end of their lifespan. Had several other mechanics look at em just to make sure I wasn't crazy. He talked about urgency and massive engine failure, if the repairs weren't done very soon. Obvious scare tactics, and absolute dishonesty. This guys shop is dirty and nasty, funkiest bare bones office/waiting room I've ever seen. I still have one oil change Groupon, but no way I will ever go there again.Avoid at all costs, do not trust him. Makes a living preying upon people he assumes don't know about cars. Witnessed other dissatisfied during the long waits to get oil changed. Looks like he's struggling to stay in business, and it's more than apparent why.Don't go to Macs.Service: Oil change

Mac's has worked on my car, as well as my partner's and several friends! From oil changes to repairs, I've been very happy with them, the service, and the fair prices. I truly believe that they want to take care of the issue without making a huge profit off of the customer. The communication with the office and breeze and also very friendly. I will continue to go to, and recommend, Mac's for all of my car needs!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Im not one to leave reviews on businesses however Mac s was the most pleasant mechanics shop I ve ever visited. Throughout the experience they demonstrated the highest degree of transparency. Liz the manager was incredibly kind, treated us like family and made sure we were more than equipped for the ride home. I wish more shops were like this.Service: Air & cabin filter replacement

DO NOT come here. I brought in my volkswagen to have my heater core worked on and they originally told me it needed a part replaced and after 2 weeks of having it told me the entire heater core needed to be replaced which was clearly due to the fact that they broke it while trying to repair it. After 3 weeks of them having my car I insisted on getting it back because they clearly didn t know what they were doing and they proceeded to not put it back together and continue to try and repair it with glue which didn t help. I finally got my car back and not only was the heat on the broken side not fixed, the entire heating system was broken throughout the car and they still charged me over $600.00 to break my entire heater and leave me without a car for 3 weeks. I now have taken it into the volkswagen dealership where the mechanic informed me the person working on my car broke several things and caused a great deal of more problems than i originally started with. Horrible people and horrible customer service. They are scammers and will further damage your car.Service: A/C installation & repair

Update: Amazing service and people. They were able to replace both rear a/c lines for less than 850. I had been quoted so much more. They had to make the lines but it was extremely cost effective.I have had an amazing experience with them so far. After a horrible interaction at a different shop that left me frustrated I called them for help. They gave me a fair price and worked us in on short notice. They really want to give the best they have to offer. Communication is key when working with customers and they do a great job.

I finally found a great place to have work done on my cars. I bought the oil change and diagnostic deal on Groupon and I am so glad that I did. These guys know their business. They were really nice and it made sitting in the waiting room a great experience. They explained details to me about the issues they found and their price were fair and beat the competition by 100s in some instances. As a Senior and a female I have such bad luck with cars & repairs. I'm relieved to know that I have a place now that I can trust.

Great service from a shop that makes you feel welcomed. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. Took a nice mishimoto radiator that I found had a great price. I made a mistake and let it sit in my garage too long where it got bumped and I was afraid it might leak when I put it in my vehicle. They did a flow test on it for me and a pressure test and made sure it wasn't leaking. When I came on down Steven told me that it might be middle of next week before it got done. Lo and behold though Steven calls me back what seemed like the very next day to tell me that they had pressure tested it and then it was completely fine when they flow tested it there was nothing wrong with it! These guys are efficient!

I gave them a history of what other shops have attempted as well as what I tried doing myself. After the repairs they made along with their explanation of what was the issue, I was very satisfied with the results. This isn't my first visit to them and each time I've been happy with the service.Service: Air conditioningService: Air conditioning

Had a clutch disc, pressure plate etc replaced in my 67 Mustang. Now the clutch chatters all the time, also the clutch does not grab till the pedal is at the top of its travel. Emailed the owner in Portland, no response. The front desk guy in Eugene said there was nothing he could do. Watch out for these guys, they are competent at radiator repair, clutch's no way.

Outstanding customer service! When starting car to leave Eugene to return home, a noise developed from engine area. Arrived the next morning at the shop and they were able to diagnose and repair the vehicle at the price quoted. Communication was excellent and we were back on the road later the same day. Thank you!
