I had my truck towed to Dan Edgar's auto repair after it had suddenly broken down in the middle of my drive to work one day. We asked Dan to see if he had time to fit us in that day to see if he could let us know what was going on with the vehicle. About 10 minutes before the shop closed Dan gave us a call to tell us he had made a repair on the vehicle without even letting us know before hand, or getting our consent to go ahead with the repair, and that it's going to cost $130. He also told us we were going to need an entirely new alternator for the vehicle to run, which would cost us about $680. We explained to Dan that we really would've liked to have known about any needed repairs before they were done, and he proceeded to talk down to us, was very rude to us, and eventually demanded we come pick up the truck that night. Obviously that was not an option, as we were under the impression the truck still would not start up or run, and all towing companies around our area were closed at that time. We then ordered a tow truck to come to the shop the next morning. When we arrived we sat waiting outside for about 20 minutes, then were greeted with an extremely rude "who are you?!", we told him we were waiting for our tow truck to take the vehicle to a different shop to be fixed, and he then told us that the truck starts up, and runs, which we were not told before. Since the tow truck had already been ordered we still had to pay at least half the fee charged to cancel, but we decided to go ahead with the tow anyway because we honestly were not very confident in the information he had given us on whether or not the truck would run. We ended up having the vehicle looked at by another shop, and found that the alternator was in fact in perfectly fine condition and didn't need to be replaced. Overall, we had an extremely unprofessional, and terrible experience with Dan, and would not recommend this shop to anyone.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Dan has worked on my vehicles for years. Anywhere from a Cadillac to a Range Rover sport. You don't get many of these mechanics anymore, can work on most vehicles, correct diagnosis and doesn't rip you off. Grateful to have him.

I was traveling through Eugene on a road trip and had my radiator fail on me. It was a Friday evening and I was basically stranded trying to find a Mechanic to do the work. Dan found me a new radiator that evening and replaced it by 8 am the next morning even though he doesn't usually work on Saturday's. Everything works great and I got back home without any problems. Plus he was very reasonable with the price. A super awesome mechanic and I would definitely go back!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Dan is a really great guy! He does great work at reasonable prices--better than a lot of the shops in this area! He'll talk to you about what's going on and what he can do to fix it. Never once has he been condescending or huffy with me for asking questions. Best mechanic experience I've had! Definitely recommend!!

Dan was very professional and took the time to ask many questions about my car to figure out the history. He had me tow my car straight to his shop after I called in the afternoon and he had it repaired by the next morning! Dan knows his stuff and helped me out in a pinch. Long story short had to get my pickup towed to his shop where he fixed it up and had me on my way within a few hours. Considering I was in town for work, I am very grateful for the quick turnaround and his friendliness. Highly recommend.

I had an unusual situation, where I wanted to make sure the fuel sync on my Dodge 5.2L was correct. This requires a special scan tool, so I stopped by and Dan connected his tool and was able to show what my fuel sync was set at, and that it was indeed correct, within just a few minutes. Very pleased with the service here.

Went in on Friday morning to check why my car was overheating. He figured out it was the thermostat and finished work on my car the same day. Friendly, super quick, and good value. I can drive my car with no worries. Thanks Dan!

Dan Edgar was AMAZING!! My car was smoking and I knew nothing about cars so not only did he walk me through putting coolant in the radiator before I came, but he understood how stressed I was and stayed open on Saturday to fix my car so it could be ready by Monday! INCREDIBLE service, wish I could give more stars!!

He ll get you up and running and even take the time to tell you how to do it. They don t make good folks like this man anymore. 10/10Went here about a year ago, moved to Texas and boy do I miss his quality service.
