Where do I start? We had such a positive experience with Automatic Heat from start to finish! All of the staff we came into contact with were kind, professional, and skilled. They all had a great sense of humor as well and you could tell they really enjoy working for the company. After our heating system died, they worked so hard to help us get a system installed as quickly as possible. At one point they even offered to loan us some space heaters. :) Melissa helped us navigate the EWEB loan process and was an amazing communicator. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Our thermostat connection from the boiler room to the house was fried. First company gave up and left us with no heat. Michael and team at Automatic Heat recommended a truly wireless solution from Honeywell. The owner himself installed the system and it works flawlessly. Just in time for the "arctic" air blowing in. I recommend Automatic Heat Co. for honest quality work. We'll be switching our annual maintenance and inspection to them. Thank you!

Our split mini was acting up, not heating sufficiently, so we called Automatic and they sent their tech, Jobe to diagnose the problem. He was very professional, got right to the job and determined within an hour that we had a refrigerant leak, due to improper connectors. He explained the issue very clearly and provided a detailed summary of his diagnosis, along with pictures. Our unit is still under warranty, so we ended up having the original installer do the repair job, but I would not hesitate to call Automatic for future issues, and I would highly recommend them to my friends.

Replaced our 24 year old Rheem gas furnace with new Rheem High Efficiency gas furnace sold and installed by Automatic Heat Co. Can't say enough about what a positive experience it was, from the bidding process through to installation. Entire staff was knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant to work with. We will definitely recommend Automatic Heat whenever we can.

I can't say enough good things about this place! I was having a hard time finding someone in or near Corvallis to even respond to messages and phone calls. Automatic Heat is in Eugene, but serves Corvallis as well. They responded quickly and were able to set up an appointment only a couple weeks out. I wanted to install a heat pump in only one room of my house. From the beginning, they treated me like an old friend. When an appointment came open early, they immediately called and set up a new appointment. This was in late Jan/early Feb during a cold snap, so the timing couldn't have been better.The installation went quickly and smoothly; finally some heat in an addition that had always been underserved by the central forced air heat. We were thrilled! However, the next day, we discovered that our water heater was offline. It seemed like it might be related to the heat pump installation because a new breaker had been installed for the heat pump. I called Automatic Heat and they immediately contacted the electrician who had worked with them on our small project. They said they hadn't touched that circuit, so we began troubleshooting the problem ourselves; flipping the circuit, resetting the water heater, etc.Melissa and her team didn't give up on us, though. They ended up sending Michael to our house (in Corvallis!) to see if he could help. He spent quite a bit of time and determined that one of the wires in the breaker had become disconnected and he repaired it! It's unclear whether this had anything to do with the previous day's work, but Automatic Heat went the extra 100 miles to get our water heater working again. At no extra charge! These are the guys to go to!Service: Ductless heating & A/C services

The repair tech was on time and very helpful. He gave solutions to the issues that I was having and ordered parts to get the job done ASAP. He was sympathetic to my issues. Melissa, in the office, was extremely helpful. She went above and beyond her duties in order to help me understand my issues and why my gas bill had been so high, even though that wasn't her job. Satisfied - will recommend to others and use in the future!Service: Thermostat repair

Super happy with this find. All the other shops I called told me the end of December or January is the soonest they could have someone come LOOK at what we need or they didn't call me back at all. I called Automatic Heat and they sent someone the next day. The prices are reasonable, and all the staff I spoke with were very friendly. They came and inspected and hooked up our second unit for the winter. I won't call anyone else now.Service: HVAC system repair

Oh wow! I can not tell you how very pleased we are with Automatic Heat.We Had first gone to ASSOCIATE Heat. Don't confuse those names! It was a nightmare with ASSOCIATE HEAT. They did not honor their sales department offers, they were hard to work with, did not show up or call for 3 days in regards to our new unit not working properly. I had to call their office everyday about 4:30 to inquire what the plans were on finding a solution to our new unit not working. Finally after one attempt to investigate the problem their only solution was to remove our unit. They also had me sign an agreement that they would NOT be responsible for any holes in the walls ,to include additional damage, due to removal of the unit. The workman ship was not professional leaving gaps between the unit and the duct work. There is more but let me end by saying I was shocked by the way they did business. And even though the removal of the units were during the coldest part of the winter it ended up to be a good thing for us because of Automatic Heat......enough of the nightmare!So we found Automatic Heat. Actually they were the ones we were looking for when we found Associate heat...WATCH THE NAMES! The owner of the company, Mike Schilling, helped us over 10 years ago when we first purchased our home. It was a small job with our floor heat. He was so helpful we thought we would now pay back his kindness and consider his company....I can not stress this enough....do not mix the two companies up!On with our experience...Mike was able to install one unit that is able to take care of our entire home for over three thousand dollars less. He was also able to place the inside unit in an area that was not in my front room or dinning area. I should mention the other company placed one unit in my front room ,first thing you saw when you walked in ,and a second unit in our family room. Outside you could only describe the unit and duct work as a hot mess located in our patio area. I was told it was the best I could expect! Wrong! We were so happy when Mike showed us what he thought would work better for us. He was right! He knows what he is doing, he proved that!My husband also worked with, Zach Schilling, Sales manager. He was very knowledgeable, professional and pleasant to work with. My husband also thought the same of the men who installed the system.I personally worked with Melisa Garner, General Manager.She was so easy to work with! Again, very knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant to work with....Hmm I am seeing a pattern here!I am writing this review because this is an investment in your home. Thousands of dollars...you need to make the right choice. You need to hear about the good and the bad...I know that Automatic Heat has been around for years and years and years. The names are so close...I remember Automatic Heat by saying I Automatically look for the best heat..Automatic Heat...Silly I know but making the choice will have you smiling! I have been a customer since 1989. They have ALWAYS been honest and fair, dealing kindly with our ancient 1946 oil furnace until we could afford to replace it. Their staff from the office and service peeps, to the owner, Michael , are all wonderful. My service tech's name is also Michael and he is fabulous!! It always feels personal and extremely positive. I've used Automatic Heat for years now. My current heat pump is going on 17 years, purchased from Automatic Heat. They are busy and you have to plan ahead for your service. The one time I needed something really quick, Michael got back to me and resolved my issue the very next day. I've never had an issue of any sort. Techs are knowledgeable and have always taken the time to explain things to me and answer my questions.Services: A/C system maintenance, Heating system maintenance

After calling about 8 different companies, we ended up going with Automatic Heat for repairing/maintenance. Shannon was very friendly on the phone and gave me thorough information about the appointment (upfront costs, what to expect, etc.). Jobe, the Technician was fantastic. He was friendly, on time, answered all of my questions and explained all of the work he was doing. It was apparent he had been in the business for a long time and it was great that he was so familiar with geothermal units. He did not upsell me but rather gave me great tips about other options should I wish to move to another system down the road. Highly recommended.Services: HVAC system maintenance, A/C system repair

This company went above and beyond the normal call of duty while working with us on our ductless system. Zach (sales manager) and Melissa (office manager) were amazing to work with and were extremely patient with us during the process. During the bidding process they were extremely fair and once accepted they were out to install immediately. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get heating and cooling installed in their home or business.

This company is great. I previously ordered three mini-splits, one outdoor air handler unit, and other equipment accessories from Alpine Home Air Products online. The online company sent them a work order request and I was given a quote after a quick visit to my address, which was very reasonably priced!I am very pleased of the install. They even installed the drainage lines that weren't included from my online purchase. They also subcontract electricians to do the electrical work that is needed for the install if you do not have an electrician in mind.The staff is very knowledgeable. The office manager told me that this kind of install could give me a rebate based on the equipment I purchased, and sure enough, I had contacted EWEB and Automatic heat worked with them to give me $800 rebate back, wow amazing! I never even realized I could even get a rebate from EWEB, so this is definitely a plus. I never had any issues with the contractors. They really did a top notch job with the install. They were able to answer all the questions I had about these systems as well. I will be using them again for sure if I need them. We ve used Automatic Heat since moving into our current home 27 years ago. We first hired them because no one else wanted to service our converted oil to gas furnace. After several years, we had Automatic Heat replace that furnace with an efficient gas furnace. A few years later, we had them install a ductless heat pump because we wanted air conditioning. Since then, they ve performed regular maintenance on the furnace, the heat pump, and replaced the thermocouple on our gas hot water.I m writing this review today because our ductless unit stopped cooling recently, so Automatic Heat sent out a serviceman named Jobe to repair it. Jobe was so courteous, knowledgeable, personable, and professional, that the next time we need Automatic Heat to send someone out for maintenance or repair, we ll ask for him. (The fact that he obviously loved our three cats was a plus).The only time we ve ever had problems with Automatic Heat was with the owner, Michael, relaying messages (regarding things that only he could answer) to us through his office staff instead of speaking to us himself. Unfortunately, his relayed messages sometimes led to more questions, and more relayed messages. The result of this burdensome process was that we lack confidence that Michael will be willing to work with us if we should ever have a major issue. However, the company s prices are competitive, the office staff has nearly always treated us well, and the service personnel have invariably been excellent.

Well I first called NW natural for a tune up they recommended them. They arrived very nice guy opened up furnace and previous contractor had not reconnected the exhaust flue there was a 4 inch gap between the opening. The guy was very concerned as well he should be, although it has been that way for 16 years. He added another flu attachment taped all up turned the gas off and electric to it and now we have no heat. They will be out on Tuesday just to give an estimate not repair. Talk about no sense of urgency, I am very disappointed we are two seniors living with our grandson and trying to heat a trilevel home with our oven. Thanks for that.

1/3/19: Daikin ductless heat pump failure again 1/2/19. Automatic Heat says not our problem. This is Automatic Heat's way of retaliation for the negative review below. DO NOT USE AUTOMATIC HEAT and/or the Daikin ductless heat pump system. You will be sorry!! The president of Automatic Heat says he will no longer help us because I am "mean, rude and disrespectful". Apparently, that is how he perceives this negative review. Since Automatic Heat is unable to get our ductless to function correctly, their response is to find fault with the customer. Wow!Update: 12/13/18 - Automatic Heat came out with another part replacement for the Daikin ductless system and left a trail of muddy footprints, screws, and repair debris on my floor and on my oriental rug. I requested this be cleaned on 12/11/18. No response to date.12/5/18 - I would give this review a negative 4 stars if I could. We purchased an approximately $10,000 Daikin ductless heat pump system through the EPUD utility conservation program. Automatic Heat was a recommended provider. We have had nothing but problems with the system. We spent a December through February with virtually no heat from the ductless system. After much complaining, money ($500+ - we were advised to purchase a heat pad/tray for the outside unit) and getting EPUD involved, a brand new unit was eventually installed. This November, the system started shutting itself off once again. Automatic Heat came out, charged us a $105 service call and said, "we found nothing." When I got home last night, one of the large ductless units was off and it was cold in the house. We reset the unit and had heat for about 3 hours when the whole system shut down. This is ridiculous! At the time you need heat most, the Daikin system fails as does the repair company. DO NOT BUY DAIKIN AND DO NOT USE AUTOMATIC HEAT... unless you want to go through a cold winter without heat in your home. Arrggghh!!

I just had an extraordinary customer service experience with Automatic Heat. They went way over and above the line of duty to resolve a problem for me, on the weekend, using high level problem-solving to resolve my issue. I so appreciate this level of service and expertise, not so easy to come by these days. I highly recommend them!

These people are crooks! I paid $80 to be told my unit is running surprisingly well all I needed was freon, made appt for freon and next tech came out and charged me another $80 and told me my compressor was shot! $160 paid for nothing!!!
