I ve been bringing my cars here for years. The are great mechanics and fair prices. They work on my vintage cars and my newer cars. I ve sent many friends here and all have been very satisfied.Avoid the dealership and bring your car to Trusty s.

I have been using Trusty Automotive Repair exclusively to not only work on my daily driver, but on several of my hot rods. Chris's team has the highest business acumen for giving quality service, great pricing, and making me feel like one of the Trusty Family. I would highly recommend them for all your automotive needs. I've been a customer of Trusty's Auto shop now for over 12 years. Their prices are competitive and the staff of mechanics are knowledgeable and well trained.Chris, the owner, and his front staff are courteous and very easy to work with.They're always willing to greet you with a smile. Awesome shop and top notch service Chris and his crew completed repairs on my car and did an excellent job and kept me informed of everything and are just good trustworthy folks and I would recommend them to anyone they definitely live up to their name trusty.thanks guys you rock and I will always be grateful to you

they were knowledgeable and helpful in diagnosis but $640 to change a belt and tensioner and oil change that i didnt ask for on a 20 year old commuter car is a bit ridiculous.

Don't get fooled by the name. I would not call this place one of high integrity and transparency. They might be technically decent when you come in with a very specific repair request, but absolutely do not send your used car there for a diagnostic before trying to sell it. They listed several issues with my car which weren't actually a problem, they were fixed and parts changed months ago. They then confessed to "just assuming" the repairs are needed given the car's odometer. Sloppy. They quoted the car for $4,500 of repairs! When we went to one of the most reputable (and expensive) places in town and asked them to check it out- we came out with a $600 bill for new rear breaks. I would much rather give my business to a place that does not take advantage of an average person's lack of mechanical knowledge. Do your work, and stop "assuming".Also, we did end up selling the car to the person who first requested the diagnostic. They are very happy with their purchase and spoke in length with the shop who ended working in the car.More lies come from this place saying that we were never their client. False. We have made one repair here within the last 2 years.Also, I find it interesting that every single bad review here elicits a long, aggresive, and defensive response from the owners. Not a single one has been taken in and apologized for. I have a hard time believing that any business ever is a 100% perfect, but sure looks like Trusty's is trying to come off as one.

I was treated fairly. The end price was affordable. At no time was I given a run around. If I ever have another problem with my car this is the place I will take my car.

It s unfortunate less 0 stars isn t an option after my experience with Trusty Auto repair. I gave them my 14 WRX December 9th 2022 to replace my clutch master cylinder. I had started the job myself and got stuck where I had connected the clutch pedal to the master cylinder with a wingnut and bolt because I was having too much difficulty with the clevis pin that was supposed to connect the pedal to the master cylinder. After my clutch failed and spending $145 at Pacific Race Engineering one of their techs told me Trusty Auto hadn't installed a clevis pin and used the hardware I provided leading to my clutch failure. After speaking with the owner he blocked my number and after informing him of my willingness to litigate he continued to be evasive. Save yourself some money and have peace of mind taking your car elsewhere. I opted to spend $2000 on a new clutch instead of litigating for $10,000.Service: Auto maintenance

Chris and his team. There are great people to work with they took care of my daughter's car and even did more. II appreciate them they're very honest and they are trustworthy. I had a security issue in the ignition that kept the starter from working. They found a broken wire. Repaired it and saved me about $150.00 verses replacement. I'll take my El Dorado no place else from now on. Fair, honest and reasonable for their services. They are super busy so you got to keep calling.

Did a great job diagnosing and fixing the issues with my car. They were polite, efficient, and came in under their quote for the repairs. Will for sure be using them for any future auto needs I have.

My car needed a new alternator, so I researched the many auto repair shops in the area and decided on this place due to the great reviews. The service I received; however, was disorganized, deceitful, slow, and apathetic. I called on 6/20 and made an 11am appointment today (6/26) based on a $379 quote. There was no range given, just a simple $379. When I showed up, the mechanic at the front desk could not find my information (which I had given over the phone) and told me the part wasn't in yet. I explained this was my only day off this week and I really needed the work done as I had been forced to jumpstart my car over and over which can damage the battey. He said that he would order the part in that day and call me when it got there so I could come back. He did call me around 12:15pm and I returned at 1pm to drop off my car. I asked and was told it would be done in an hour and I would receive a call when the work was done.After over 1.5hrs with no update, I walked back to the shop to see if my car was ready. It was, but no one had bothered to call me. Then, I was hit with a final charge of $426 (nearly $50 more than I was quoted) because the mechanic I spoke to had ordered a more expensive alternator than I was quoted for without telling me. Additionally, the person who gave me the original quote (who I believe is Leslie but I'm not certain) never informed me of the possible price difference/range. At this point I was really upset, but remained calm and explained the entire situation and why I was not okay paying more without any warning for a repair that took 3 hours longer than it should have. Rather than apologize, the young blonde woman (who I believe is Leslie) and a long-haired mechanic immediately became defensive and gave excuses, including straight up lying and telling me that I wasn't specific enough over the phone and my vehicle actually required the more expensive alternator. When I didn't give in, the long-haired man got frustrated and seriously said "okay we can just take it out then and put the old one back in".After I rejected that dismissive, uncaring 'solution', they finally figured out where the part they *initially* ordered for me was and told me they could switch it out if I would wait another 30 minutes on top of the 3 hours I had already wasted. I had no choice so I said yes, they switched it out, and I still paid the full $379 despite the poor treatment I had received.TL;DR: the communication at this 'trusty' auto shop is awful and if you don't continually advocate for yourself you will not only waste hours of your time, but get overcharged for it as well.

Trusty does a great job for a really fair price. We've taken our Subaru and Nissan in to them for routine maintenance and repairs, and they always do quality work in a really quick time frame. Great, friendly, local folks whom we're lucky to have here in Southtown!

Trustees has been in business for 16 years and has very loyal customers because of the way he treats them. Trustees is exactly like their name says, you can trust these guys they have your best interest at heart.

Three words I would use to describe Trusty Auto Repair is Honest, Knowledgeable and fair. They had great communication through the process of getting work done on my truck and were honest about what was needed and what was not. Came to Trusty on a recommendation from a friend 6 years ago, never looked back. Never had anything but a great experience. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, quality work, and, most important when looking for a good mechanic, honesty. Chris can estimate just about anything you need done with incredible accuracy and will tell you honestly if it s worth doing. Just wish they worked on motorcycles too!

I highly recommend this business. We were on a job site and our work vehicle had a problem. Even though we don t live in the area and are not regular customers Trusty helped us find a tow and squeezed us in to the schedule. They repaired our vehicle and were finished before the day was done. Their price was reasonable and our van is running great!Thanks to everyone at Trusty s!!!! You really saved our bacon!

I had my 2000 Audi A4 in to get my A/C compressor fixed a little over a year ago. I was working next door at the time and figured it would be convenient to drop my car off next door to get the work done. It took about a day and I was told the car was good to go. I go over and pay the $200+ bill. I was told they were going to pull my car around which should have been maybe a hand full of minutes. It took longer than that and then I was told the car wasn't starting. I was told it was the starter , so I told them to do it because I needed my car.They installed the new starter and I talk to them again and they tell me that the car is still not starting, and by this time they've taken off the new starter and put my old one back on. They later tell me that one of the pistons has a dent in it from the valve hitting it and bending. There is no way the valve on the head would have hit a piston if the timing was correct(due to the variable timing the car has), which when I brought it to them, it was correct.I suspect there was an accident or something else involved and no confession was given.Needless to say, I didn't get that fixed because it wasn't worth the $3,000 bill I was quoted to get it done when the value of that care was roughly the same.I would not trust bringing my car here again, nor would I recommend my worst enemy to bring their car here for repairs.

Trusty Auto Repair went above and beyond my expectations on my most recent visit. I was very well taken care of, and they fixed my issue at a fraction of the cost I was expecting. They have a great staff --friendly and honest. I will continue to go to trusty for my auto service needs. Highly recommend.

I will not take my car to any other mechanic. Everyone is friendly, quick to diagnose, and repairs are also fast. Chris is also super honest and has very fair prices. If you are looking for a trustworthy shop to take your car to, and do a great job, I d definitely say this is it.

They did a spectacular job changing a heater core in my 2004 Dodge pickup a while ago. Not a project I would tackle my self as the dash is extremely delicate and needs to be completely removed. They had it done in way less time than I expected and at a fair price.

Chris is Awesome! I brought him a weird welding project at lunchtime on a Friday, and he stayed late and got it done by 6pm! Very reasonable prices and his welding/fabrication work is top notch!
