A friend of mine dropped my 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser off at Ken Fischer after hours as they have a convenient key drop-box and as I was out of the country. The vehicle was having starting issues that I narrowed down to either the starter or starter connections. The shop diagnosed it as the starter and called to inform me of the issue and provide a quote. I asked them to email me the quote, which they did, and I told them I would have to sleep on it (as the starter for this vehicle is in the valley of the engine under the intake manifold lots of labor in the pricing). I called back the next day to verbally confirm that I would like them to go ahead and do what was on the quote and that I knew that a knock sensor was faulty and confirmed that I agree to the replacement of the knock sensor if needed. A few days later, when I was back in the country, I stopped by the shop to drop off a remote start to see if they would be able to install it and, if so, provide me with another quote. Tony and I discussed what else the vehicle needed (a couple fuel injectors and injector seals for which he sent me a quote), and I left under the assumption that I would receive a different quote for the remote start installation. I would then decide if I wanted to do the injectors. With a miscommunication a presumed customer approval on the companies part I was confused when I received a call the following day that my vehicle was ready. When I showed back up to the shop, the price was $800 more expensive than the original quote. It was then that I found out that they had already replaced the injectors and injector seals (before I went to the shop) without customer (my) approval. I give this review 4 stars because although they did work without customer approval, Tony was more than understanding and ended up not charging me for the work that was not originally discussed/quoted. The miscommunication was resolved and I was more than grateful that he was able to work with me. I would go back as they are nice and knowledgeable people, but doing work without clear and concise customer approval is a big red flag.

My dad used to bring his classic cars here when I was growing up, and now I trust them with my vehicles as well. Trustworthy, excellent work, friendly family business, that stands behind their work. Everything you could want/need in a mechanic!

I had an excellent first experience. We moved into the area last year and Ken Fisher was highly recommended by our neighbors. It is always nice to support a family run business that takes care of its community. Good communication throughout the repair process and diagnosed some additional last minute requests with no pressure. Ken fisher auto did new headers and exhaust on our 78 stingray. They repaired or replaced several parts on the motor and transmission. The car runs better than ever and sounds great. Ok, I'm a little crazy about maintaining my auto records, and my history with Ken Fisher Auto Repair goes back two decades. My first visit to Ken Fisher, I stopped by randomly because my car was making a random rattling noise. Turns out, the heat shield had captured some small rocks and they were rattling against the exhaust system. I was charged nothing; it was just removing the heat shield to let the rocks out, but they certainly could have charged me for their time and work anyway. This experience built my confidence with them - they weren't the kind of shop that would take advantage - so I was happy to take my car back for repairs in June of 1998 before I headed halfway across the country for college. Across several states, I never found another auto shop that I felt as good about taking my car to (there might be one or two that came close, though). It took most of the last two decades before I moved back to Corvallis, but Ken Fisher Auto Repair was by far my first choice for working on my car (no, not the same one, but still a Honda Civic). I wholeheartedly recommend them.

I was referred to Ken Fisher by the gentlemen at Les Schwab after a few run-ins with other not-so-honest mechanics. I'm glad I listened. Tony and his crew are amazing. They were thorough in their inspection and transparent with their information. Prices for parts and labor were reasonable. No hidden fees or mysterious charges. I have found an honest mechanic that will get my business for life.

The ASE mechanics and office staff, ... have always done a great job for us when we've needed help with our truck & economy car. Very thorough work, with attention to detail, ... and friendly attitudes of the people at this repair center. Can't thank them enough for getting our vehicles ready for the road again. This shop is setting an example for other new start-up vehicle repair shops in this industry to pattern themselves after.

This shop is a joke. I took my car to them to fix some wires. It sat there for over 6 months with no calls from tony or anyone from there to inform me about whats going on. I finally call and they tell me they have been looking for the part and cant find one. B.S. cause i found what i needed a week after i took my car back from them. Lazy overpriced shop. Trash owners. Tony got my car done very quick despite everything that is going on in the world right now. They are super on top of things and were able to get my car fixed and ready for me ASAP. Dana was also super friendly!

They take a while to get in but its because they are so fantastic. I love how I can always rely on an honest diagnosis. They give me a ride to and from work to pick up my car while they have it also. Love them. I have never felt like they are trying to up sell more services either

Was quoted for a replacement part at $700.Got a second opinion. Turns out someone had wrapped a paper towels around it, and it didn't need to be replaced at all. On top of that, the second place only quoted me at $400 for the same replacement.Maybe I had a unique experience, but I'm not going back to find out.

Great place, I have been going there since I was a frosh in college, they have helped me out and always do a great job! I had a problem with my college car and took it to 3 shops including the dealership and they all couldn't figure it out, it took Tony 10 minutes to figure it out and cost about half what other shops were charging as an estimate!
