Had problems with the K-Jet system on my old Mercedes, and my neighbor recommended this place because she s been going here for like 30 years. They fixed it in less than a day, did some other work as well, and it was somehow like incredibly inexpensive. How often does a car repair place do a better job than expected for less money than expected?! Heck yeah bugwerks/autowerks - definitely recommend this place!

It is my first time to use their service. A worker replaced one tail bulb for me and gave me detailed suggestions about fixing tire leak. The bulb replacement is free and I was shocked! Great service!

Great service and great team. Called to schedule a full break job. They got me scheduled really quickly, and they finished the job and I was able to pick up my car the next day. Price was good, they topped off my fluids and whatnot, too. Took great care of my 20th GTI. Couldn t ask for more, will be back soon.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

Awesome service, took my moms car in when I couldn't find anyone else and he got right on and got it done!! Couldn't be more satisfied the Volkswagen will go there anytime there is mechanical work to be done!!

We were having some issues with our Jeep blinker lamp and even with a new bulb was not working. Stopped on a late Monday afternoon expecting to be told that we would need to make an appointment. Thomas came out to our Jeep ( in parking lot) popped off the tail lights and worked on our issue for at least 30 minutes. He gave us a few scenarios, told us he would order a part and have it over nighted and would finish the repair, if needed the next morning. With Thomas s help and a few adjustments, the computer reset and the issue cleared up later that day. Awesome service and smart friendly team of mechanics!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Excellent, honest mechanic. We had engine trouble while on a road trip from Vancouver, BC, and Independent Auto Werks was the only shop that would look at my VW van right away given the circumstances. Tow truck dropped our van off around noon, and we went for lunch. Before we were even halfway through eating, they called to say they had already diagnosed the problem (ignition coil), and it would be ready in 20 minutes. When we got back to the shop, our van was already outside waiting for us.We were perfect targets to be taken advantage of, both because of our situation and the fact that all of our gear etc was in the van. Not only were they honest and knew what they were doing, they also had us back on the road in a couple hours. If I lived in the area, this would be my mechanic - shops like this are hard to come by.

Cheapest place to get your alternator installed in town. Customer service could use some improvement but otherwise nice and reliable place. Took less time than expected and price estimate was exactly that at checkout.

I have taken a few of my cars all vw(3) and (1) bmw I had here and now I will be taking in my 4th vw car to them. I have never had a bad experience and I dont ever expect one with the quality work and knowledge they have seems to get what I need fixed in a timely manner other shops try to take an arm and leg for just looking at ur car but here at independent I feel it's always fair price and just like that they'll never loose my loyalty.

I do most of my wrenching myself, but sometimes run into a conundrum or gremlin that I just don t have the skills or time for. Had my Vanagon towed over to Independent Auto Werks the other day to get some help with a no start issue. They had it diagnosed and repaired in a couple hours for a really reasonable price. Grateful to have such accommodating and experienced VW mechanics in Corvallis!

These guys have serviced all my past and current VWs, old an new, as well as my Volvo. I have major and minor stuff done as well as regular maintenance over the past few years. Top quality service and attention to detail. Friendly, fair and extremely knowledgeable- clean and cool little shop as well. This is the goto place for any old or new VW or Volvo.

Great experience. Fixed what was needed quickly in our old Toyota Sienna and didn't try and up-sell anything that wasn't needed. Mechanics you can trust and afford.

These guys are great. Quality workmanship and care to detail. I'll be taking my vehicles back for future repairs and maintenance.So far they have worked on my syncro, installing a decoupler, fresh front axles/CVs, a wheel bearing, and made some shift linkage repairs. All of the work they did was outstanding. I especially appreciate how well the van shifts now.'87 Vanagon Syncro Westfalia'04 VW Jetta 1.8t

I've frequented Auto Werks many times and every time I talk to these guys they know exactly what they are talking about. Their prices are reasonable and everyone I've dealt with has been incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.

I'm editing this post because while they misdiagnosed where the terrible sound was coming from, the fan was not the source of the shaking so technically they weren't wrong. I will also admit other than this one instance I've appreciated their work and expertise.
