I cannot say enough good things about the people and the service I received at Horton's. My headlamp burned out and needed to be replaced. They let me just stop by, they stopped what they were doing to replace my bulb , which was not a simple task. I am so appreciative of Rainbow and the rest of the Horton's team. Thank you for being so kind.

After repeated terrible experiences with a local mobile mechanic, Horton's does the job right the first time! They are honest when shamefully, most are not.Thank you Rainbow and all, you are truly appreciated!!If you don't know how to do the work yourself (in which case you wouldn't be at a mechanic to begin with), you are at their mercy. Cars are seriously expensive to have and maintain without facing incompetence and/or deception on top of that Thank you Horton's! I recommend you whenever I can. I'm sure my VW will bring me your way again but hopefully not too soon

AWESOME, the only word that comes to mind. They made my VW better than it had ever been and a very reasonable cost. WOW.

Horton s fixed up our 2002 lemon of a Volvo and got it purring again. I couldn t believe it, it lives! They were accommodating as we had to have it towed someplace else first and were able to work us back in to the schedule even though we technically lost our place in line. They were courteous, communicative, and respectful throughout the whole process.

I have used Horton's in the past, and have had a good experience. The most recent repair l had done has not been a good experience. My daughter's 2007 VW Passat had overheating issues so we took it to Horton's. My daughter explained the problem to them that it was overheating. They had the car for repairs for about 3 weeks and apparently decided to fix other issues that were not related to overheating. The total bill was nearly $4000. About 2 weeks later, she driving late at night in downtown Portland and the car overheated and stalled. It took a lot of effort for her to get somewhere safe that night. When I called the shop to let them know, Rainbow asked if I was taking it to another shop to have service done. I said yes, and she let me know that she will let the owner know. That been almost a week and no response yet. Most likely will not use Horton's in the future.

10/28/2020 - We had another AMAZING experience with HORTON'S yesterday. My daughters car started running really rough, both the check engine light and EPC lights came on and she needed to drive back to Portland to nursing school last night. So i called at 10:00 am and explained to them what was happening. They said they could get it on the rack at 1 to diagnose the problem and tell us if it would be ok for her to drive or not. We dropped the car off and within a little more than an hour they called to tell us what the problem was, that they had the part and could replace it before the end of the day. The total cost was under $260. I can't THANK everyone at HORTON'S enough for their great customer service!! We will recommend you to friends and family and continue to use their services when needed.11/2019 - I can't recommend this place or mechanics/owner enough. Called right before closing and they got me in the next morning to run diagnostics on my daughters car. Within a couple hours they called with the repair needed, had ordered the part and it was fixed by the afternoon. The price for diagnostics, part and labor were on point and they are extremely friendly.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

So I take my 240 Volvo in for an idle issue. The car has basically been setting for years but I drive it occasionally. Anyway, when I picked the car up the driver window was down, and would not go up. They claimed that no one there lowered the window. I sure didn't!! It was thirty degrees outside when I dropped it off.

I took my Porsche 911 here to diagnose an issue causing it to pull to the right. Later that afternoon they call me and quote me $1700 to replace the front strut mounts with an alignment and a tire balance. I found this to be suspicious considering the milage on the vehicle so I asked them to show me the issue up on a lift, which seemed to throw them off guard. The mechanic then proceeded to show me the shock absorber bushings, not the front strut mounts, pointing out the cracks and wear. At this point I was wholly not convinced by their story and got a second opinion from a place down in Eugene. The shop in Eugene didn't find any issues with the front suspension, other than the wear on the shock absorber bushing, and just did an alignment, which fixed the issue.Im not sure if they were trying to rip me off or they are just incompetent, but, either way, I do not recommend this shopServices: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment

Always professional and the only place I'll trust with our Jetta. A little bit pricey but in this day and age a small price to pay for reliability.

Came here with a blown motor in my old 1995 318is. I had already lowered the car and it had many other new parts in it and I hated the slow old m42 anyway so I asked them to swap it.To make a long story short, Hortons German Auto Repair was able to accommodate a serious task with reasonable pricing and a very excellent job well done. The best part about this experience was communication. As with any motor swap, there are tons of variables to consider and each time I needed to get new parts they called me and let me know where I could find them at a good cost. They also worked with me on pricing being I'm a student working part time. However I like my car and didn't want the cheapest available mechanic. I wanted the most comprehensive and error free job possible and I definitely feel I got that here. You get what you pay for and I think coming here was a smart move. They were patient when I had to order the mid pipes, get the other exhaust in, and helped me set up dropping off the motor we swapped in. They identified my clutch needing to go and did not charge me additional labor for this. Same with a faulty water pump.Ross, Patty and Robert were all very pleasant and overall I feel they greatly assisted me in this entire ordeal. I now have a fantastic, much quicker and lower mile motor running in my car. The wiring is all neatly done and any custom fabbing was minimal aside from exhaust fitment, which they were able to do in shop. I tried to provide the best parts and OEM only so I'm sure this helped.Robert was the mechanic who did pretty much everything. He even fixed my door for me which was very cool. He did many extra and awesome things you'd expect to find at a reputable shop. Belts were all replaced, fluids checked and replaced if necessary, e brake tightened, the door handle issue which was horrible, fixed. Fuses and electrical components like fog lights that once didn't work, now do. He explained how the shift linkages were slightly different since we kept my transmission and it now basically feels exactly like a short shift kit which is nice. Oil was changed and anywhere fitment or mounting required custom work, Robert came through. Great mechanic. Everything works, he said if I return with the correct hose my ac will blow ice cold too! There were some bumps along the way but again, with swaps of this nature this is to be expected. The pricing, accommodation and overall quality of work and satisfaction can't be beat. I will be returning here for future work on my suspension components and regular tune ups!Edit:They have now also helped me identify and easily solve a slight coolant leak, installed and recharged the air conditioner which blows ice cold, and also installed A susension x brace which protects the oil pan and adds stability and improves handling. And done a few oil changes.Everything was an addition to the car, not a repair and the coolant leak was just a loose hose. So again, awesome place!I am now experiencing a slight oil leak and would also like some mounts and bushings swapped out, so the team at Hortons will be hearing from me shortly for another job :)

They want 1040 to install coilovers on my GTI lmao.Mind you, I have new top mounts so they don't need the OEM ones thus negating the use of a spring comp. And i'm putting them on the lowest settings. So no need to fine tune them. That is a 3 to 3 and 1/2 hour job that should be a breeze for them.Their hour rate if I remember correctly is 115. That should be no more than $460. And they want 1040.. Wow.

Was just trying to get another set of keys cut for my 95 BMW, they did a good job. They will work on any European built car and they seem to know what they are doing. No complaints from me.

We have taken our car in to Horton's since moving into town a couple of years ago. Out of my 30+ years of dealing with auto mechanics, they are the most honest and professional I have come across. I could not recommend them enough.

Took my Bimmers to Horton's, years ago. Took my Audi in for a quick fix this week and got what I expected, quality work at a fair price. Horton's is the best in town for German Auto Repair.

Worst place I ve ever been to. Charged $115 to tell me it was going to cost either $1000 or $4000 to fix my car. Horrible attitudes from employees. Came to pick it up and it wasn t put together and the guy working on it had left so I couldn t take it home. Came back again and the car was dead. Do not ever come here!

I went there twice in last month. Had rattling Noise from Fan in my BMW. They suggested it s the blower fan problem but then found that something was stuck in the FanThey didn t charge me again for that so this Four Rating. They should have checked it before so deducted one Star .
