I used Metric Motorworks to fix a coolant leak on my 2006 Porsche Cayenne. I was very grateful for their help considering I was over 1000 miles from home.Long story short, they didn t do the job right. The owner confirmed with his technician that they had used hammers and pry bars on my parts, which was obvious because I had the whole job done over. Because the owner was taking some responsibility I figured I d split the cost with them, even though I was always entitled to a whole refund.Turns out their prying and hammering had caused additional damage my mechanic hadn t seen, which was addressed. In order to fix the car correctly the transmission has to be dropped out to fix the part. I reached back out to the owner, we emailed back and forth then he decided to just ignore me.I paid them $2200, then paid my mechanic $2400. Now because of their incompetence it will cost me close to $4000 to fix the new issue they caused.The owner and I both know his technician started this whole ordeal but he isn t willing to give me the rest of my refund.

I got into a pickle on a road trip along the coast. The service manager and owner helped me through some options over the phone even though I own a car they don't normally service. Once I was able to get my car there, they diagnosed the problem quickly and were able to get me back on the road faster than anyone could have hoped. I'd recommend them with six stars of I could.

Ron was very helpful and made me a very fair estimate...they did a great job fixing what was needed in a very timely manner. I feel very fortunate to have a mechanic to work on my 2001 Audi TT!

Been coming to Metric Motorworks for years. Recently I had an issue with my Mini constantly overheating, right before I was about to leave town on a cross country trip. Thankfully they were able to work me in. Not only fixed the broken expansion tank, diagnosed an alternator issue, and replaced the battery but noted and replaced a wheel bearing that was failing. Great shop and great staff!Service: Auto maintenance

Not only was he very reasonably priced, he did a fantastic job and was very honest! I got a couple other opinions / quotes from other mechanics who lied to me, tried selling me stuff I didn't need & wanted me to pay 4 times more than what this shop charged me for actually the correct work. So glad I found this shop. Will be a lifetime customer!)Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

GO ELSEWHERE F K NO DONT USE THESE GUYS.Requested an electrical check up for a battery drain problem. I had called 4h later, understanding there may have been people before me, they asked about parts being in my trunk I wanted installed? So I cleared up the request so I thought. I return to a young 17-20yo blonde caucasian male joy riding my car testing the suspension. I had ended up diagnosing the problem myself with a 25$ multi meter and 10m of research on google.Will repost with receipt/date/names if taken down.Services: Electrical, Vehicle Inspection

Top-Notch repair shop! My car broke down on the way from CA to Reedsport. John & Steve evaluated the issues, provided an estimate, rearranged the schedule to work mine in and had it completed and me back on the road in about a day and a half. I knew the car was in good hands when I saw the shop ... you can eat off of the floors! I am considering taking a trip up there the next time my car needs any type of major service. I was on a week long trip as the support vehicle carrying all the gear with for 14 students when my '97 Ford F250 had the check engine light come on. I tried to take it into another place but they were closed and so I went down the road to Metric Motorworks. I knew it was a long shot because my old farm truck was truly out of place when I pulled into the lot full of foreign cars. Inside I overheard the person at the desk informing another customer that they were two weeks out on looking at vehicles. Not a great sign for having my truck looked at. However, the fellow who helped me was great! He came right out, plugged into the computer and diagnosed the issue. He gave me good information and I was on my way in just a few minutes. The check engine light didn't come on again during the rest of the trip even over mountain passes or in canyons with temperatures over 90 degrees.The best part of this whole event was the service, but the price was more than reasonable too.Thanks for being such a great business and helping me out this last week.

John and staff were excellent. I was only in for an oil change change but they got an error code when they were doing post oil change diagnostics. I had never seen the low pressure warning light and neither had they. The warning lights went away and never reappeared and they even took it out for a road test to ensure that I was good to go. They did not charge me for it and the fault cleared I was very impressed! Totally exceeded my expectations!!!

This is a great business that is well run. They care about what theydo and their customer's. They know what they are doing and keeptheir prices fair. I would recommend them to any and everyone, asthey are so very knowledgeable. I cannot say enough great thingsabout Metric Motors. A rarity in today's world where many do notchoose to have high standards.

Our daughter was alone on a cross country trip and experienced car trouble in Coos bay. Her dad and I, on the East coast, called five other shops who all told us they couldn't help. John, however, five minutes before closing agreed to look at her car--a Toyota which he typically doesn't fix. The problem was minor, a five minute fix, and he refused to take payment. This is a quality human and that, it turns out, is a rare thing in Coos Bay. Thank you, John!

Our BMW was overheating, and continued to even after putting coolant in it. We were visiting from out of town and worried we wouldn t be able to make it back home without spending an extra week or so in a motel, but glad it didn t happen on our way up. We were referred by a AAA agent and barely made it before the engine started making noises. The owner, John, came out and informed us that the water pump was broken, and that it would be expensive. We told him that we were only booked for one more night where we were staying, and he moved around the schedule to make sure we could get our car back the next day in working condition. I can t sing their praise enough, they made us feel more at ease with our situation and helped us out if the goodness of their hearts.

BY far the most knowledgeable Import car repair service on the southern oregon coast. They are always honest, helpful, and as quick as possible. I don't write reviews but these guys deserve it. They are great. Thanks John

My boyfriend and I came from Utah to Oregon to find a possible home along the coast. On the way from coos bay to Benton, my boyfriend s Audi Q5 started acting up... We researched and found this place back in Coos bay. These great guys helped us out big time. Let us know what was wrong. Thank you so much!
