This was a very pleasant place to stay! The fresh remodel is looking really nice too. Beds were great and the pillows. The staff were absolutely wonderful! This will be our go to place for future visits to the area. The toiletries were top notch as well. Very pleased with everything. Also no need to hit up a coffee shop with their fine selection of the coffee makings available. The backside of the hotel has really beautiful views as well. The pool was pleasantly heated, though the hot tub is currently under construction . I do highly recommend this place. It is also conveniently located near major grocery stores as well.

The outside of the Inn isn t anything special but the interiors are nice. The service people were all noteworthy nice and helpful. Our rooms were nice. They smelled good. The curtains blocked out the light. We had a refrigerator. The showers are nice. The sink is outside the the toilet/ bathroom which is always key.We didn t take advantages of any amenities. I saw a post about noise/thin walls but we had zero issues.Oh, there s a Safeway right across the street which is super convenient.

Letting everyone know as former employee in the maintenance department you are getting swindled on the services that you will get provided compared to what is listed. The hot tub doesn't exist here at this hotel and nor will it in the future. The pool has several issues wrong with it and is not cleaned or sanitized after use. The filters aren't cleaned or maintained as well which leads to the pool being shut down quite frequently. There is a massive sewer leak on the first floor outside between rooms 117-102 and is unsanitary and unhealthy to where numerous guests have complained about the foul odor and exposure to human feces. This place takes shortcuts to "repair" this issue and still within 2 months of this being an issue have not made the proper repairs to fix a obvious health hazard to the guests. The management here is ran by 2 women that have a drug and alcohol dependency issue and it reflects on how the place is ran and operated as a whole. Housekeeping here does a really good job and the ladies work hard but their pay doesn't reflect the work they put in which is sad. This is mostly due to the greedy attitudes of the 2 managers that think they deserve to pocket extra money when they can't even bring this hotel up to par when the actual owner invested $10million into this place for renovations that aren't up to code or standard for a choice hotel. With this being said please do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that provide better services, better accommodations, and a better overall experience.

Room wasn t bad. Seems to be recently remodeled. That s the only positive to this place. I ve stayed all over Coos Bay and the customer service here is without a doubt the worst. Amber at the front desk is very rude and will lie to you for absolutely no reason. She told me there would be a $100 hold on my card for incidentals and claimed it was 10% of my total stay cost. My stay was $150 total. That would be $15 not $100. When I asked her to explain she said because I booked third party I didn t know how much the room actually cost. So either she is just making things up or doesn t understand basic math. After she left I checked in and there was no hold on my card. She just wanted to be a on a power trip. Avoid staying here unless you want to be treated like garbage.

Stayed 2 nights on 1st floor in remodeled room.Positives- Front desk staff were friendly and very helpful to local sites. Room was super clean, beds were comfortable, and view was beautiful.Negatives- walls are thin. Could hear people next door talking and watching their television. Also, could hear people walking in their rooms upstairs and out front door; had to keep a/c fan on high all night to drown out the sounds.

There are no jacuzzi tub rooms, we booked one through their website and arrived to learn that the place is under remodeling and they no longer offer this amenity. The hot tubs were closed. But the carpets and floors were clean, not sticky and walking barefoot over the carpet I was glad to look at the bottoms of my feet and not cringe. The bedding was clean and comfy. The showers are clean with a nice set up, though the hot water was in short supply. Nice tv but lagging internet/cable. Service desk is slow at answering calls/requests. All in all moderately satisfying for a stay cation. Located conveniently next door to safeway and fred Meyers. Thin walls, neighbor's cereal bowl and spoon clanking woke me.

Stayed here two times i the last week. First stay, I was given a non remodeled room. Room was very old, bed was horrible! Staff was great though, very helpful- stating next time you come make sure to ask for a remodeled room.Second stay (4 days later), upon check in waited a long time for front desk person to come front desk. Sign stated they were testing the pool. However, front desk person came from upstairs - pool is downstairs. Front desk person was very unfriendly, acted like I was bothering him being there. Asked for a remodeled room as I was told to on my last visit. This bothered the front desk person more! I even explained that last time I was here I was told to ask by the front desk staff. Got my room key, get all my belongings and head to my room. Upon opening the door, to my surprise there was people in the room. Go back to front desk - wait again because the front desk is testing the pool again. Again the front desk person comes from upstairs - pool is downstairs! I explained that someone was in the room they assigned me. He stated I have no idea who is in that room. I was then assigned another room on the other side of the property. I get to my room and it is fine. About a hour later my door comes flying open! It is the front desk person!! He says I didn t know anyone was in this room! I respond you just assigned me this room after someone was in the first one you assigned me. He says you should use the deadbolt. Deadbolt definitely would of been used if there was one! As you could imagine I didn t sleep! Worried that someone be coming in my room again.Next morning. - upon check out I explain my evening of events. The front desk girl said I will tell management. Even explained that I felt unsafe. Response was still only I will tell management. This was my last time at this hotel! I travel up and down the coast regularly for work and this the first time in over 5 years I have ever felt unsafe!! My advice is STAY AWAY!!

Thumbs down for the service here at this Edgewater Inn Coos Bay!Two families booked two rooms here and we specifically asked for quiet rooms.Called the front desk about the constant noises above and learned that there are people still working on the second floor right above our rooms (Some kind of renovation for the whole hotel) - and it s 8 pm at night and the front desk told us they won t finish the day s work until 10 pm!!! - and they keep throwing garbages out through the second floor window to the garbage bin on the ground right by my window (as you can see from the picture)! - most places in the world would ban any renovation/construction work at residential areas after 7 pm! The front desk simply told me there is nothing they can do!To make things worse, I asked the front desk for a hairdryer since we forgot to pack our own and didn t have any problem in the past three days from Seattle to Portland to Newport, but the front desk at first told me he would send one down right away, then when 30 minutes later I followed up he told me that he ve searched the whole place and couldn t find one!Edgewater - this kind of service is gonna put this hotel under water We were woken up this morning at 6:30 am by the heavy steps from above - they started working on the room renovation again early in the morning! Don t people at Coos Bay get any rest? And it s Saturday for God s sake! Jan 27th! Or is it just at Edgewater Inn? But their staff seems not working merely as hard!BTW, there is no deadbolt lock at the room door - so we put the garbage can at the door step as seen in this pic Supposed to be a quiet night sleep ruined by the renovation noises which could have been avoided if the staff worked half harder

Overall, it's a beautiful location, the building is decent, and the rooms are clean. However, this is the second time I've stayed here, and honestly, the service is not great. The guy who checked us in was friendly but inproficent at best. We had a paid reservation, which they somehow had the wrong card information for, so the guy told us our card was declined. It took about 10 minutes for my husband and I to figure out what the motel had done wrong. They hadn't updated the card information in the computer, despite us filling out their paperwork and emailing it back per their instructions. The guy even admitted the motel had made a mistake, which i do appreciate him taking responsibility for. He also apologized, but at that point, we had already been put out. Then this guy tells us to park in the far end of the parking lot because it's closer to our room and to use the door at the end of the hallway that is open till 7 pm. When we got to this door, carring our luggage, it was locked ( it was 3:30 pm), so we got to carry all our luggage across the parking lot to the main door and through the length of the hotel. At least the guy apologized again, but again, the apology did not do anything for the inconvenience. The shower poses a safety hazard, there is no anti slip mat or stickers in our tub/ shower, and there is only one safety bar that is only accessible to enter/ leave shower. Also, the shower curtain was insufficient and allowed water to go all over the floor. So do be careful if you must shower here or bring your own safety mat.The last thing I have to report is at 6 am an alarm went off in my room. There is nothing that obviously displays that the alarm is set, and since I have not used this type of alarm, I didn't even know how to shut it off. I hadn't planned on getting up that early, so I was not happy. I asked the guy( different than.the night before) at the front desk if he knew why we had an alarm go off, he says it's not the hotels responsibility to set the alarms, and said he didn't appreciate my attitude. I told him I didn't appreciate being woke up, and maybe they should have their maids check the alarms when they clean the rooms. He said sorry like it was a question. I just left because he obviously didn't care. So if you choose to stay here, unplug the alarm because the hotel assumes no responsibility for making sure it's not set.Overall, I would NOT recommend staying here. I value customer service and would prefer to give my business to a motel that does as well.

Most of the hotel staff was friendly and happy to see us. The rooms are large and "seemed clean". I say "seemed" because there was food in the refrigerator when we arrived...what else didn't they clean? A cart with bed linens was stored in the hallway near our room, just feels kind of sloppy. Sound insulation was terrible (people walking upstairs sounded like elephants, we could hear everything going on in hallway & neighbor rooms, cars driving in parking lot were also loud)

I've stay here twice. The facility is being upgraded. The new rooms are beautiful, comfortable and the bathroom fixtures are modern. This will be the place we'll stay on any future trips to Coos Bay!Rooms: Nice, well-done, new renovation.

We left our Shilo Hotel in Seaside early because our room was filthy and the hotel was unsafe. We booked the Edgewater Inn as it was half way in between our next destination. They were in the process of remodeling and we had one of the new rooms. The hot tub was not available and there was no hot water in the am. So frustrating after what we just went thru. I explained our situation to Deseray Burnett, the manager that came on in the morning when we were checking out. She took our situation to heart and signed us up to receive a one time, friends and family discount price for any of the Choice hotels. We were so grateful. We booked 2 more Choice Hotels on our way to our destination. At every hotel, ALL of the staff were happy, conversed with us, and they made customer service their number one job. The staff and cleanliness of our rooms made our long trip less stressful and more pleasant.

I stayed at this motel a few weeks back. The service was excellent; the mother/daughter team manning the check-in desk and the other workers were friendly and helpful. I really liked my room, and although this was not my normal location to stay in Coos Bay, I found it a convenient place. There was a diner across the waterway that was excellent, and the motel is located near the museums. I would have given this five stars, except the motel owner was renovating. The fitness center and laundry rooms were not in operation. The workers started pretty early in the morning, but I usually wake up around 6am. Be aware that there is no food service. I plan on staying here again in the future, if the price is right.

The hotel is undergoing a remodel, but we were blessed to be given a newly remodeled room. The room was spacious and the bathroom was nice and had a rainwater shower head which the kids liked. We didn't have any issues with the construction interrupting our sleep. One thing to note, we had 3 kids on our online reservation, however, these rooms don't have the pullout couch like other Comfort Inns. You need to call the hotel and mention you need the additional bed. Thankfully, there was one left when we checked in, otherwise, it would have been a big problem. They don't currently serve breakfast, but have a drink bar that is available all the time. Our room had a view of the river as well which was a nice add. The staff were all friendly and helpful. You should definitely book your stay here.

This place is disgusting, there rooms are not clean, had a horrible smell the bed is uncomfortable to say the least. The TV is so small you can't even watch a movie easily from the bed. The "water view" is just a ugly little channel it's not like a beach view or anything extravagant. The phone has check out at 11:30 printed on the info. Card yet they called up being rude at 11 telling us we were supposed to be out already. Fix your damn posted info. then. The curtain rod over the door was done by someone who has no idea how to install such or have any experience in finish work. I'd never go back and would tell people to go anywhere else in the future!

Don't bother! Nearly $200/night room rate. Asked for pets room, ground floor for two disabled! Given newly remodeled upstairs room with carpet?!!! Told "No Ground Floor" available! Moved up the stairs (repeated trips up stairs) into room. Found out side door could not be opened from outside period!!! No room key lock, no nothing! Got to walk to main lobby to get in!!!! Room had no TV controller! Got one after 1 hr. worked everything except power on/off, volume control, and mute button?!?!? Went to shower. Ran water for 5 mins. No Hot Water!!!Best was luke warm. Went to desk told them this will not do!! Moved us into ground floor, room for pets( told should have been put in pet room to begin with!). Better room with no carpet with sliding glass door with patio overlooking slough! Now old disabled folks all worn out from moving up and down stairs! Floor was so filthy turned our feet black!!!!! Asked very nice maid to clean room floor while we were out! Did great job!!! Left her a good tip!! Toddler up stairs ran back and forth in their room from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm for 3 days! Would that I had that energy?!?!?!This was for 3 days over Labor Day weekend. Got home and found $60 additional charge on my card!!!! Full rip-off whether remodeling or not!!!!I see no benefit in choosing this hotel?!?!?!

When I was a kid and my parents took me here in 1995. Well the place literally hasn t changed at all. It s been 28 years.. The pool was exactly the same but aged 28 years. Murky water, and degraded concrete. The hot tub was under construction. The beds must be the originals, you sink completely into them.Spiders, brown water for a few minutes when you turn the faucet on. Sheets, not so clean.when we walked into the room, it smelled like chlorine very strongly.Part of the experience isn t the hotels fault, I don t recall tweekers roaming between the hotel and the neighboring Fred s, and Safeway back then lock your doors on your vehicles. It used to be a really nice hotel, but at this point , you can get the same, or slightly better quality down the road at the motel 6, At a drastically lower rate.

Solid improvements being made. I've stayed here many times as my job dictates travel at times. People need to be patient when a property is under updates. It is not a 5 star hotel but now rivals others in town. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable and willing to help. I've traveled oregon for the last 20 years for work and this hotel does make it in the top 15.Rooms: New paint New Carpet and large Google tvs. Bathrooms also modernized. Beds quite comfortable.

They are in the process of remodeling. We got one of the rooms that were almost done. The tv is big, the counter space is amazing, the balcony gives a great view, the bathroom is nice and clean, and the beds are nicely made! The staff is very nice. Even though they are still remodeling there was no trash can and no blinds. Overall great place!Rooms: Great rooms! Good job in remodeling! Absolutely love it

Save your money. Don't stay here. Was going to give family a nice vacation. This hotel advertised pool and hot tub. I thought great for kids. I even paid extra for a room with a view. I was not told hotel was under construction. My view was caution tape with a pile of debris. There was no hot tub. Pool was cloudy and last day there it was closed. Could have stayed at cheaper hotel with no amenities with what we got there. Never again. Also construction starts at 7am.

A Superhero in Disguise: Amber at the Edgewater InnI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Edgewater Inn, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional service provided by one of their employees, Amber. She truly went above and beyond to save me from a troublesome situation and displayed remarkable customer service skills throughout my stay.It was an early morning, around 7 am, when I found myself in a predicament due to car troubles. Feeling helpless and stranded, I approached the front desk where Amber was on duty. Without hesitation, she immediately sprang into action, displaying a can-do attitude that instantly put me at ease. Her genuine concern and willingness to help were evident from the moment I explained my situation.Amber swiftly assessed the situation and provided me with practical solutions to get me back on track. Her calming words and reassuring demeanor were a breath of fresh air during a stressful time. She went above and beyond her duties, making phone calls, arranging transportation, and ensuring that I had all the necessary resources to resolve my car troubles efficiently. What truly impressed me about Amber was her unwavering dedication to guest satisfaction. Two days later, I witnessed her handle another guest who was clearly having a difficult time. With her exceptional customer service skills, she managed to turn their experience around, leaving them visibly grateful and satisfied. It was evident that Amber genuinely cared about the well-being and happiness of each guest, going the extra mile to ensure their comfort.I am truly grateful for Amber's superhero-like efforts and her unwavering commitment to providing exceptional service. Her dedication and genuine care made my stay away from home significantly less painful. The Edgewater Inn is fortunate to have such an outstanding employee who consistently goes above and beyond to make guests feel valued and supported. In conclusion, I highly recommend Amber at the Edgewater Inn for her exceptional service, can-do attitude, and remarkable customer care. This hotel is currently being remodeled and we were given a newly remodeled room. It was like brand new with all new fixtures and furniture. The remodel is very well done and we really appreciated our stay in this clean new room. There is some upheaval due to ongoing construction but it wasn t annoying or bothersome to us. The location was right on the river. I really liked this place and as they finish the remodeling it will get even better
