One of the most magical things I saw. It was not just the rocks on the sand/water. It was the combination of the sunset sky, clouds, mist, reflections, waves!!! Oh my goodness~~ nature is beautiful! We came in November, drove almost 2 hours from Portland just to see the Oregon coast! it was still chilly and rainy. But honestly, it was totally worth it! Come during sunset time, you will be amazed. If not sunset yet, eat at MO s seafood and chowder, you have a view of the coast in the restaurant.

One of the most beautiful places here in PNW. So pleasing to the eyes. Stunning sunset experiences every time we visit. The important beach in Oregon and a must visit.

Google maps directed me to a one way street for the forestry service. oops! lol. found a path to the beach anyway, with stairs. Tide was out so we got to see mussels, starfish, sea anemone all closed up, etc. Area was roped off by Forestry service for the tuppins and birds, but you were still able to get close enough to touch starfish although it wasn't recommended.

The most beautiful place you'll find in the area. The tide pools are awesome to experience.NOTE: If you choose to visit and see the tide pools, you MUST respect the rules. Stay on the sand.DO NOT walk on the rocks or touch the wildlife. This is not some purpose made exhibit that you let your children crawl on. This is a delicate ecosystem. Please show respect and reverence to the wildlife.Take a picture or watch. Don't touch.Sunset and sunrise are stunning on Cannon Beach

We had to make a stop there and witness God's creation and enjoy it. This place is a must-visit attraction site if you are driving alongside the Pacific highway. I mean, there are many spots and viewpoints to enjoy and this one should be on the top 5 list. The area around it is very beautiful from sand, trees, and other natural sites. Make sure and stop there for a visit.

Haystack rocks is super cool. It is definitely worth taking the time to go over to it. Parked in a free lot just off the Main Street and walked over and it only took a few minutes. Got to the beach and walked a little ways to the rocks and it was awesome. The weather was gloomy and rainy but it really added to the ambiance of the rocks. Would recommend.

Haystack Rock on a rainy Oregon day convey the profound serenity and timeless beauty of this coastal landmark. This natural monument, standing at 235 feet, is a sanctuary for seabirds and marine life, as well as a point of geological interest, having been formed by lava flows more than 15 million years ago.The moodiness of the weather in your visit adds a dramatic tone to the scenery, highlighting the stoic presence of the rock against the force of the ocean. It s easy to see why this location was chosen for scenes in the 1980s film The Goonies, as it encapsulates the wild and adventurous spirit of the Oregon coast.Despite the rain, or perhaps because of it, the setting remains a draw for photographers and nature enthusiasts alike, offering a different kind of beauty that sunny days do not capture. Haystack Rock, shrouded in mist and echoed by the sounds of the waves, serves as a powerful reminder of the Pacific Northwest s rugged allure.

Gorgeous! I ve lived in the PNW for 20 years and have always wanted to visit this beach. It did not disappoint in the slightest! Clean beach, soft sand, very kid and dog friendly overall. The rock itself reveals tide pools during low tide with lots of anemones and mussels to see! Windy, I would recommend packing some outer layers especially for mornings and evenings as even in July I was pretty cold. Parking is limited, plan ahead to reach before noon ideally.

A famous place to visit, it is gorgeous and worth it. The beach is huge and nice, Haystack rock is looking good(but only can view, you can't get close or climb on it). The weather was not that good when we there, still I got some good pictures with reflections. The real gem is the rocks opposite to the haystack rock, about a mile south. Over there, you can find lots of mussels, sea stars and other fun stuff. Kids can explore them for hours! Great fun for kids. Regarding parking, the easiest and free one is in the town Tolovana, however, be prepared to walk about 0.7 miles to the Haystack rock, which is not bad and actually it's quite relax and comfortable.

This is one of my favorite places in the Pacific North West. The beach goes on for miles. It's not as busy as seaside. You can get very close to haystack rock at low tide. It's usually fairly busy at that time and there is staff there to answer questions and make sure people don't try to climb it.
