I am very disappointed with the service at this auto repair shop. I left my car for a battery charge and ended up with a whole slew of issues. First, I was told that the battery was fine, then I was offered a repair costing over $2500, to which I declined. After that, I was informed that the car couldn't be fixed at all and demanded payment for the diagnostic, the results of which were inconclusive. When I returned to speak with the director, the manager Zack was aggressive, yelling, threatening, and insulting. I didn't expect this from a professional service. I do not recommend this auto repair shop to anyone. It's better to stay away to avoid such unpleasant situations. Furthermore, Zack refused to provide the director's contact and stated that no money would be refunded.

Jeff Marsh is a scam artist. He picks up vehicles with serious mechanical flaws and then masks them to make money on the engine and transmission. Then when you discover the defects, claims it must be your installation. Also misrepresents the condition of the equipment and where he got it. He will say it "remanufactured" when he actually ripped it off a totaled vehicle.

Wonderful customer service, staff were understanding, and patient. When something went wrong they were swift to correct! They even ordered a tow vehicle for me when a different issue rose up and I was unable to move.A wonderful place to go to and highly recommended.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Our F350 service truck broke down on the way to a Washington job site. Zack with Canby Transmission got us in and out same day in under 4 hours. Very professional outfit, excellent service and outstanding pricing. I highly recommend them! Have an older classic AMC car that the flexplate on the transmission failed. Canby Transmission got my car in, did the research required to find a replacement part and did an excellent job with the repair. I've needed a transmission service on my car for a while now but haven't had time to take it into a shop. After hearing Canby Transmission recommended by one of my coworkers in Vancouver, WA, who needed a custom transmission built and swears these guys are the best between Vancouver & Canby, I decided to give them a try.I had an unexpected day off this week and called them the morning before to see if they had any space for a service, Jeff answered the phone and was incredibly helpful, informative, and friendly. He gave me a quote and let me know about what else may come up depending on what they found. The fit me in the next morning and finished in a couple of hours. Trevor walked me through how the service went and gave me all the details I needed. The final cost was about 10% lower than was quoted me over the phone and my car is working beautifully.I highly recommend Canby Transmission, they're professional, well priced, and honest, I will be coming back for any transmission work needed in the future.

I warn whoever reads this to not go to Canby transmission! I'm appalled that this guy is still in business!I think the owner Jeff is riding off the name, as he purchased the business from Mike and Sharon (who by the way are good honest people that came out of retirement and opened up another shop called South Canby Auto, as so many customers were calling them at their house wondering why Jeff from Canby transmission was screwing them over). Don't go here! I had a horrible experience as it appears to me that this guy doesn't know anything about transmissions. Luckily I found out about South Canby Auto instead of wasting $1800 for something I didn't even need.

Excellent Service! Fantastic guys! Hal, Jeff Johnathon Shannon and all the guys at Canby Trans. I will never take my vehicle any place else!As a reminder They do A LOT more than just transmission work.I have had them take care of my brake jobs, oil changes and the typical whats that noise? since I am not a mechanic!You can't go wrong if your using Canby Transmission!Thanks GuysJim

Canby Transmission is fantastic shop. Being a car guy myself they have no problem taking the time to explain what they did and how they are going to do it. Their estimates are accurate and fair. Would have no problem recommending them for any transmission work or any other car work.

I bought a truck from Jeff and Zack recently. Honest guys, great deal, and very happy with my purchase. They were up front with how they acquired the truck, the work they did, and little odds and ends that have come up during their time of ownership that i may have to deal with. Even though they re a small dealer, i would recommend them.

VERY happy with the service I received from this shop. Reasonably priced, knowledgeable mechanics and they are honest! I haven't had any problems at all since my transmission was worked on. I've already recommended them and will continue to do so. Good job guys, keep up the great work!

I am very happy with the rebuild transmission for El Camino and the clutch they put in my Camaro.Fair price,done right and done when they said it would be.(I know that hard to believe but true)

Don't waste your time or your money here. I took my truck in for a diagnostic after experiencing some transmission issues, the report they gave me stated what I had already told them and nothing more, they didn't list any fault codes or irregularities. in the end I paid them $126 to tell me nothing more than I already knew. Complete waist

Last month, I was driving along through Canby, on my way to PDX to catch a plane to Boston, when my car suddenly broke down in a catastrophic way. By some miracle, I was less than 1/4 mile from Canby Transmission, and I was able to limp it in. I showed up, unannounced, frazzled, and said, "I don't know what's wrong with my car, but can I leave it here and pick it up in about a week after it's all fixed? I have to catch a plane!" They were super nice, accommodating, and I was soon in an Uber on the way to the airport, having left my car in the hands of these people I didn't know. During that week, Dave checked in with me several times as they diagnosed the problems, and had it all fixed up for me when I flew back the following weekend. I can't say enough wonderful stuff about these guys - thank you!!!!!!! PS - I have put almost 4000 miles on it since then, due to an unexpected road trip, and the car handled this abuse like a champ. Thanks again!

Called in to get a quote for my car to get it's clutch replaced, I had bought my own clutch, brand new. And I was told by Josh, that "Yea we won't do that." I asked why and his response was "we don't want to deal with customers who've bought their own parts" in other words. "We rather gouge you with our overpriced clutch that we get from a part store just like you did" I worked for O'reilly's Auto Parts and we deliver to those places (Mechanic shops) all the time.

Came here for a full transmission rebuild after the one in my ranger went out. Zach was very helpful and explained everything in detail every step of the way. I feel very confident about their repair.

Canby Transmission did a great job on our pickup. They repair transmissions and more. You can trust them with your vehicle repairs.

Sorry Curtis Perry (see below) but we do not install customer owned parts. Too many issues with he said/she said and items not working correctly. We make a profit on all parts we sell and this allows us to warranty the labor if anything should fail on the customer. The manufacturers do not cover our labor if a part fails, that is all on us. We also do not use auto part store clutches as most are not even OE quality.
