I found Tuner Automotive through a Google search about 2015 after moving from Minnesota and not knowing one single person in Central Oregon (my daughter had moved to the coast and I followed - this far). I had a BMW e30 that I had blown the head.Jason took my car in a totally rebuilt it to be a winning SCCA Autocross car. At every step of the way he was straight forward, open, and honest. He steered me to what was necessary and what was fluff. The car is solid and doing great today, AND has not needed any undue maintenance or repair after his initial build!I followed the BMW e30 with a Mini Cooper S, which are well know for A ZILLION mechanical issues with significant cost. I did did my homework and shopped around, including PDX. Jason always gave the best advice, the best service, AND the best price.My staple was always a Nissan Frontier that I had bought new in MN. Jason gave me dealer level service and, again, steered me from unnecessary work. My Nissan has 130K miles and still in perfect mechanical condition, thanks to Jason.Lastly, due to my own stuff, I needed an automatic as all my vehicles are/were manual. I got another BMW, this time a X1. Jason and his son went over it with a fine toothed comb. I'm recently retired and now with a limited income. I ve taken both of the vehicles I ve owned to Jason and he has always provided honest service that is reasonably priced. Amazing communication and super friendly as well. I ve heard some real horror stories from some of the auto shops in Bend but I ve never had an issue here. Truly only positive things to say. Thanks Jason and shop family!!

I have been taking my Toyota to Tuner Automotive for a few years now. Jason and Evan are always very friendly and accommodating. They take the time to explain to me what's going on with my truck and what my options are. They have even sent me photos and videos mid repair! Tuner offers an old-school style service you don't get from the larger chain shops. I wouldn't trust anyone else in town with my truck. Highly recommend these guys!

I have been taking my vehicles to Tuner Automotive for over 10 years, Jason has been nothing but thorough and attentive to the care of my cars and trucks over the years. Most recently, he diagnosed a brake problem with my truck when I came in for my lifetime oil change that needed to be addressed that I had no idea about. He made me aware of the problem and took care of it in the same visit as my oil change without missing a beat, making my truck safer to drive on long trips and a higher speeds. Jason did a pre-inspection check on a vehicle before I drove out to bend, he saved me thousands of dollars and a lot of my time. I will always recommend him to any one that needs a mechanic! Thank you Jason!

Excellence is what comes to mind when I think about Tuner Automotive. My husband and I have been taking our 4 cars here for over 10 years because Jason is up front about work that is needed and never sells us on unnecessary work. We have taken a couple of our cars to another shop for an inspection and returned to Tuner only to find out that some of the recommended work was not needed at all!I completely trust Jason with my cars, including my pristine 1998 BMW 328i. I also love that he is as passionate about the E36 as I am.

I ve been going to tuner automotive for repair work on my Subaru for years. He s a trustworthy person with extremely fare pricing. The life time oil change deal is so reasonable I feel like I m taking advantage of the shop. These guys saved the day! And my trip! And my Subaru! A dealership told me I needed a new transmission for $8k and when I took it to them they looked it over and quickly found a solution for only $200. These guys know their Subarus and got me in same day, no appointment, and out all fixed and ready to continue driving on the same day! If I could give more then 5 stars I would! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. These guys are amazing. My son s car collided with a rock (sliding on the ice) and ripped through everything under the hood. Essentially the damage was pretty catastrophic. Jason was amazing to work with. He took care of everything and kept us updated the entire time with videos and calls. Sooooo stoked to find an honest mechanic in Bend! There is a reason why all these reviews are 5 stars. I needed a starter. After getting a $1,300 quote from Kendall Toyota for the starter and other services I allegedly needed.....I decided to go with Tuner Automotive based on Google reviews alone. Best decision EVER! Jason gave me a quote over the phone for the starter. After performing the work the final price actually came to far less than the quote. I mean....that is honest. He could have easily just stuck to the quote and I would have never known. He then did a diagnostic and it turns out I did not need the extra services Kendall Toyota was recommending. That is straight up honest. We found our mechanic! If you are reading this......this is your guy! No need to look any further. Thank you, Jason!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

They had me tow my car to the shop told me what they said was wrong with it told me to buy the part and put it in myself and it would be fixed so I did that my car is still not fixed I called him back and he's just simply said there's nothing else he can do for me but I'm out $600 and absolutely nothing Fixed with my car. I was traveling through Oregon, many miles from home when I noticed a grinding noise coming from the engine of my second gen Outback. I am unfamiliar with Bend, but I found tuner automotive through Google. I was able to get it towed to their shop the same day I noticed the issue. The next morning when the shop opened, they were able to look at it as one of the first vehicles, quickly fixed the issue, and got me back on the road. They recommended additional service items but did not push them on me. They did the minimum repair needed to get me going and did so at a fair price. I think the people running this shop are honest and really just want to help their customers. I was worried that I didn't go to SubaGuru when I dropped off the car, but after I got the car back, I am happy to say I went to the right place.Service: Engine repair

I had legitimately the best possible experience with Tuner! I had traveled down to Bend from Portland for the weekend, and 10 minutes into my drive back home to Portland, my car overheated and started smoking. I was in a rush to get back home and Tuner and called a bunch of shops early morning on a Monday. I had left a voicemail for Tuner and they called me back before they even opened and told me they opened up a spot to get my car in as soon as possible! I took it in, they figured out the issue and fixed my car all in about 4 hours and then I was able to head home!Seriously, the best experience with a mechanic I've ever hadService: General repairs & maintenance

Really enjoyed working with Jason. I brought my 1986 BMW e30 to Jason and it was evident right from the start that Jason has an immense knowledge on these cars. I was given honest feedback on what items needed to be fixed and the respective priority of each item. The inspection he did was very thorough. I happen to know a decent amount about cars as well and did my own inspection to see how much his would align and he caught all the issues I had outlined, plus more I couldn't see. Will definitely do more business with Jason in the future!

Honest and great service! Jason and his son were so great getting my car all fixed up in a timely manner and answering my millions of questions! His main concern was me driving my son safely and prioritizing what needs done first to make that happen and I really appreciated that. Will definitely go to him for any future needs!

Jason is one of the most helpful and honest mechanics I've been to. I'm always worried that I'm going to get screwed over and told there are 100 things wrong with my car, but he didn't do that. He even told me that one recommended item probably didn't need to be done after further investigation. He stayed on the phone with me, answered ALL of my questions without seeming rushed or annoyed. I will definitely be going back and recommending him to friends.

I'm so relieved to find a trustworthy mechanic. As Jason was starting to replace my engine, he found that I didn't need one, just a new timing belt roller that was completely worn out and banging around, plus a few other inexpensive things that needed to be replaced. He saved me from being completely broke in the bad luck year of 2020.

I really appreciate Tuner Auto. The owner is quite responsive and helpful: He has provided advice on cars as much as he has worked on my cars. Very knowledgeable and experienced. And I have to say, I have gone to Tuner for years and my car has worked like a charm every time after being in for service. The lifetime oil change program is pretty cool, too.

Refreshing to find an automotive repair shop where you get to talk to the owner directly. Jason is a good communicator and very professional. I like the fact that he keeps his overhead low so that he can give you a fair price on repairs.

I was relieved to find Jason to perform a Pre-Purchase Inspection before I bought a used truck, and because it was due for its 120K mile service, he advised and helped me negotiate. Of course I went back for the 120K service!
