We had an electrical issue that put me and another mechanic in a stalemate. Parnell figured it all out in a reasonable amount of time and in a way that everything was fixed correctly and worked perfectly for our 2 month trip down the coast.

My name is Dave S. and I'm from Hartford, CT. I had a talk with Dave. Owner of Parnell Autoworks on a recent posted ad on a 1997 V.W Eurovan full camper.After he gave me the run down and history about the van..I said "consider it sold".I took a gamble on it.And glad I did. Low and behold it turned out to be the best buy I ever did.I traveled from Hartford, Ct to Bend, Or. by air and drove the van back to the state of CT.Traveled 3252 miles with no brake downs what so ever.I give Dave at Parnell Autoworks a 5 stars PLUS.I'm happy to be a Happy camper.Also, LOVE ALL his other vehicles he has at his shop. Cool place to see some history.Nice guy to deal with.Very friendly guy.

These guys are great. They helped me with advice and services I could not do while I was rebuilding my 1987 vanagon 2.1L water cooled engine. And they helped with the final tune up. They seem completely competent and knowledgeable, quick & fair. I'm so glad their keeping the old "old volks home" tradition alive.Thanks you guys for all the help and advice.CheersService: Auto engine tuning

Having been a customer of Young s Ole Volks Home for 40 years, I was very sorry when Gary retired last year. But I needn t have been concerned, as Dave and Steve at Parnell Autowerks are carrying on the tradition of superb service and unmatched customer care that you could always depend upon from Gary. In short, they are the best!

AMAZING! We were on a cross country road trip in our 1984 vanagon when we had lost the use of our clutch back in August 2021. We called all of the shops in the area. All of them said they were either 2 to 5 weeks out before we could even be seen and have our problem diagnosed. Gary had us come in first thing the next morning and even let us stay in the parking lot overnight. It was a pilot bearing that went bad and destroyed the input shaft along with the clutch and flywheel. Gary had the flywheel resurfaced and everything new and back together by the end of the next day. Thanks to the help of gary we were able to continue on with our amazing trip. Anyone who is in or around the bend Oregon area that has issues or any questions on their van he is an excellent person with a lifetime of vw knowledge. #descendonbendServices: Transmission, Engine repair

Gary rocks! Our vanagon starter blew up in Sisters, and he had us on the road again early the next morning. He knows these vehicles really well. If you want to tip him for a job well done, he likes good sipping tequila...

On my way to Bandon and I needed a gasket replaced and a new mirror. The owner stepped up and replaced it for me, even though he was prepping to leave for a family camping trip. A great guy, knowledgeable VW Guru and intriguing conversationalist.Nice to know such kindness exists.

Highly recommended! Very nice people who did great work on my 1993 VW Cabriolet for a very fair price. I generally prefer doing my own repairs, but I'll definitely be bringing my car to them for my future needs.

If you need help with your VW Van/Bus while in Bend this is the place you want to go. We were on vacation and the shift linkage on my 91 Westie gave up. We were in town for only 3 days so getting parts was going to be an issue. Gary took it upon himself to source the parts from other suppliers and get us back on the road in under 24 hours. Thanks Gary.

Great and honest mechanics. I have dealt mostly with Aircooled Jerry, super friendly guy. I mostly just buy parts from him, a great resource. I love supporting a local company, just be sure of what brand you are buying, if you want german or OEM.
