The experience was not what we expected based on the advertisement and reviews we heard. We were not impressed. The actual work seems to be holding up and was definitely a fair price. Unfortunately the level of professionalism was very low, we were not greeted promptly or by a person who seemed to know anything about our car. They never actually test drove the car. They could definitely use improvement with their inter-office communication as well as customer communication. Not sure that I would use them again.

I don't typically leave reviews but since Tim went way out of his way today to help me in a pinch, I have no choice but to let everyone know. Good or I should say great service should not be overlooked or taken for granted. Tim's shop rebuilt my transmission several years ago. This morning while out to my dentist it stopped shifting into third gear. I was close by Tim's shop so dropped in and Tim immediately took over. He took the car for a ride, drove it into one of the bays, had one of his guys look it over and they fixed the issue (vacuum hose from carb) in about 15 minutes. Since I need to drive the car on a longer trip this weekend, he has saved the day. That's great service! Thanks Tim!!!Service: Transmission

I contacted this shop by referral of a friend close to noon on a Saturday. I was nervous and hesitant, because I had recently purchased a vehicle through a dealer, I drove less than 300 miles to have the transmission light come on. I had not even made my first payment. I still owe $13,000. I told him my situation and that I had the codes, however, the auto parts store turned off the codes. He advised me to drive it till the light comes back on and gave me a appointment for Monday morning he would provide a free diagnostic. Unfortunately, I was not feeling well, I have major health issues and I did not drive the truck enough. Yet, I showed up. I was greeted by the owner Tim. We discussed the codes and possibilities. He made me feel welcomed and showed compassion. He was busy and still took the time to talk to me and advise me of my options. He is a honest genuine man who is running and loyal reliable company. He definitely exceeded my expectations and that is hard to do. I left feeling blessed to meet a honest mechanic who is not trying to rip someone off or take advantage of a woman. I totally recommend him and his shop.

I contacted Tim based on his online reviews after having received a few other quotes for the clutch replacement on my 18 year old Toyota Camry. Evidently the other quotes I got were insanely high, and Tim turned out to be straightforward and honest because his quote came in at around half of my highest quote and something like $5-600 less than the lowest quote I'd gotten. I'm very glad I ran across him because I initially thought the repair meant the car was just about as good as totaled. He and his team got me back on the road within two days as well - lightening speed! Highly recommend.

Absolutely great service and business ethic. I've not used him yet but 100% plan to if I need to. I wish everyone was as pleasurable as he has been while we diagnose what's wrong with our rig. He's went above and beyond to help us out of a terribly stressful situation. Like a big ole silver haired angel swooping in to save the day. Very solid dude. You should send your family here, just like everyone else does. They are busy for a reason.Thanks again Tim

I called around to various shops to get a diagnostic test on my car. Tim got me in immediately and was extremely pleasant to interact with. He was friendly to me, offered baked goods from his wife, engaged with my two year old and even took the time to recommend a shop that could woke on my car since the transmission was not the issue. When the day comes that we need transmission work this is where we ll be going. It s no surprise his business has been around for over 30 years! Excellent service.

Tim was great, we had our 2005 Acura mdx towed in due to it not shifting. He and his team diagnosed the car and said our issue wasn t the transmission, and rather a transmission cooler line and radiator. The car is now working very well, Tim is incredibly fair and extremely honest. If you want quality work with honesty and integrity, Tim s is your place. Thanks guys for everything

My 2002 Silverado needed some deferred routine maintenance and some TLC. I was very satisfied with the service. A bit of "old school" approach to having a job well done. I sent my daughter there for the same thing. I'll be back, when necessary!

Excellent service. I had a service last April to change both differential and transmission fluids. 10 months later I thought I lost a little fluid from a weird 1 time leak (really small). They got me right in and checked all the levels on diffs, transmission, and even the transfer case. All looked good. Dale was awesome trying to troubleshoot my issue. They are good at educating too. Love their honesty. I hardly ever leave reviews fyi.

After reading all of these reviews I decided I would give Tim a try and boy was I grateful i did!! Tim is about the only mechanic specializing in transmissions who will actually quote you a fee and you leave paying what he quoted. He is very nice and saved me over $3,500.00!! My SUV is running excellent and the entire process went exactly as Tim said it would! I recommend him over any big name transmission company. Those big names over charge you and treat you like another number! Go with the little guy and keep it local!

Ask for Adam, he s Tim s go-to guy! Adam can handle any problem, big or small. By the time you come to pick your vehicle up, you ll be driving away feeling confident in the work you had done to it.

My clutch was showing signs of needing to be replaced. I called several places and visited one. I got several different stories on what the cost would be to replace the clutch. Some said they could not give me a price until they had the car torn apart. Well, who likes that story? Other places would offer a price range. I don't like that story either! Tim at Tim's Aatco Transmissions gave me a price and assured me that "would" be the price no matter what. He sounded very confident with everything he said on the phone. I decided to have his company fix my car. It went very smooth, the car needed a more expensive clutch than he anticipated and he still stuck to his word, which is almost unheard of these days, and he only charged me what he told me originally! I felt good when I left with my repaired car and feel I can trust him and his service in the future. I have already told two other people of my "excellent" experience. One person is planning to take his car and / or work truck there next time he needs anything done. I will definitely go back for more of this wonderful service. I will totally recommend Tim's Aatco Transmissions to everyone I know that has a need for vehicle repair!

I was referred to Tim's by Du Fresne's Auto Repair. I called on a Friday evening, 4:58 right before closing time at 5PM hoping they would still pick up my call. My car had been not accelerating very well at all and I had thought it may be a transmission problem. Tim picked up! He was super friendly and did not rush me even though it was a few minutes past 5. I told him my problem and he said I probably shouldn't be driving it for safety reasons and to bring it in Monday morning at 8AM. I did not drive it all weekend, except when I had to go to Portland on Sunday evening for a prior engagement I couldn't get out of. On my way home, I smelled something burning.I took it into Tim's shop and he was really friendly, filled out a few spots on paperwork and dropped it off. Not more than an hour later, he called me to tell me my clutch was out and that if I accepted the cost to fix it before 9AM, he could order parts the same day and likely have it fixed by the next day, but said there was no pressure to decide immediately. My friend did a check at Car Toys for me, and they wanted $1200 to fix my clutch. Tim's cost was several hundreds less!Needless to say, it's Tuesday morning and I have my car back. Amazing! It's running perfectly well. Tim did ask me if I wanted to change my transmission oil because mine was pretty dark. I asked a few questions, such as how often should it be changed, and he replied about every 50,000 miles. I know that I haven't changed it since I've owned the car (4 years, yikes!). I've never met someone so genuine in the auto industry. You can tell when you talk to him. Thank you for fixing my car so quickly! I would definitely recommend. It doesn't hurt to bring it by and meet him for yourself to decide.

Tim and his crew have been my transmission mechanics for the last few years and have always been fantastic. Fair prices, clean quality work and Tim always stands behind their work. It's hard to find decent mechanic these days so I'm extremely happy I found them years back and they still fail to disappoint. 5 stars all the way.

Tim s left my car with zero gas when I picked it up and I didn t have enough to even make it to the nearest gas station. A friend had to come rescue me with a gas can. When I brought it up to Tim during my car check-up, he got EXTREMELY defensive about it and denied any responsibility for it.He also ignored me when I arrived, and instead sifted through the mail and chatted with his coworkers in front of me for at least five minutes.He was overall impatient with me and dismissive of my concerns.He did, however, treat my dad like an angel (my dad brought the car in for me while I was at work). But he was terrible with me (a young woman in her 20 s). Yet another example of classic misogyny at car shops.Would not recommend him to any other woman in need of transmission work.Service: Transmission

Tim is always so helpful and honest and gives me the straight story on my car. I'm fairly mechanically inclined and familiar with my vehicles, so I often know what I might be facing when I arrive. It's not always good news but sometimes it is. Regardless he is honest and straightforward and priced very reasonably for the depth of work.

Tim is amazing, just so honest and incredibly helpful. Our van was in need of a new transmission but because of the car's advanced age, I was leaning toward not doing the service and just getting rid of the car. Even knowing that he may not make any money from me, he gave me wonderful advice on an inexpensive tow company and wrecking yards that would treat me right.He inspected my vehicle free of charge to be certain that it did need a new transmission and then gave me the full price that it would end up being, not some low, "get you in the door" price. This helped me to make the decision to not do the service, which was wonderful for me but not to his advantage.Then when the wrecking yard guy came to negotiate the price, Tim even helped us out with that! Pointed out the positives of the car and stood with us as we agreed on a price. Amazing, and DEFINITELY above and beyond!We were referred to Tim by a friend and I can see why. We will be referring our friends to him going forward. It's hard to find honest people sometimes in car repair but gosh, we found one!

When the dealership told me my sons car needed a new transmission that would cost $6100, I called Tim's which I found on Google. Tim saved me over $5000, as the car did not need a new transmission just transmission mounts! Tim is a great honest and caring businessman who takes pride in his work and really truly cares about the customer from his heart. I had the chance to have a long conversation with Tim, as I am a business owner as well, and I truly appreciated the time he took to chat w/ me and the special care he gave my son who was extremely nervous about what was happening with his vehicle. My advice is do not get your transmission fixed anywhere but Tim's Aatco Transmissions!

I called Tim today in distress that I had damaged my transmission during all the recent snow and ice. He listened and made suggestions for safely getting my car in so he could look at it for me free of charge. As it turned out, my transmission was fine but the fluid was low, which he filled for me at no charge. The entire experience from my initial phone call to driving out of the shop was incredible. I could have been told my transmission needed major repair, and I wouldn't have known the difference. Tim truly cares about his customers, is friendly and honest - the antithesis of most auto shops I've encountered in my 40 + years of driving. I can't recommend him highly enough. I will definitely be back for any future problems with my transmission. He is a real find in this crazy world - someone who puts his customers above lining his pockets. Thanks, Tim!

YOU HAVE TO GO THIS PLACE FOR YOUR TRANSMISSION AND YOU ARE CRAZY IF YOU DON'T!!!!! Our car felt like the gears were slipping. My husband called the shop to set up a time and Tim stated to bring the car to the shop any time and it would take about 15 minutes, but the busy times are early morning and around noon time. My husband brought the car to Tim's shop the very next day, after their lunch break. My husband was greeted immediately and Tim was very courteous and friendly. Within 10 minutes, we were told immediately it was not the transmission. We were told it was probably spark plugs or coils which causes an engine misfire and vibration. Tim was HONEST, FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS and he did all this for us at no charge. We left the shop and replaced the coil pack in the car and now the car runs super smooth. The coil pack was $90.00. Tim SAVED US FROM THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! If you want HONEST, friendly, courteous service, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!!! THEY CARE ABOUT YOU AND THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

The transmission on my 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix went out and based on Ads on the radio (The Fish), online customer reviews and The Better Business Bureau s issue resolution results I took my car to Tim's AATCO Transmission repair shop.They provided a quote and a time line to complete the work. The work was completed as quoted and on time. I found Tim and his mechanics to be Professional, courteous, helpful and to do business with a high level of integrity.The transmission now performs flawlessly. Tim s shop has exceeded my expectations and they will get any future work I might need on any of my vehicles. I gave them a 5+ Star rating and highly recommend them to others.Note: I am not a relative or a personal friend of Tim or his staff, just a very satisfied customer!

My son used this business to work on his driveline. He was worried the problem was the transmission, but Tim let him know it wasn't and what could have been 1000s of dollars to repair, if the transmission needed rebuilt, turned out to be about 500 dollars for a new motor mount and driveline. Tim is a very personal fellow and a straight shooter. The experience my son had with him has convinced me to use his business if I ever need repairs along these lines.

My clutch was horrible and needed to be fixed. I called Tim who was very eager and willing to get me back on the road again.Tim was able to get me a cheap rental car during the repair, and followed the estimate to the letter. During the service work, they did identify some other issues that needed to be address (mainly the rear main seal, axle boot, and a few others). He told me that it wasn't critical to have these extra items repaired, but he let me decide if I should go ahead and let them do it. I did, and the added price to do the extra work was very inexpensive (anyone knows having a shop replace a main seal will run you around $1000, Tim offered to do it for a tenth of that amount).I'll tell you, that new clutch is awesome, and the car runs way better now. These guys deserve 6 stars for the work.

I brought my daughters Ranger in to have Tim look at it. Needed a clutch and I only had two days before she was to drive off due to a move. Tim was great, he was able to get me in, fixed the clutch and resurfaced the flywheel and pressure plate and install all new components within a day. Excellent quality and customer service.I will be back with any other transmission problems that I have.Thanks Tim!Keep up the great work!!

Tim (the owner) was very helpful and took the time to explain to me what seemed wrong, helped me weigh my options (which included not giving him my business), and didn't pressure me into anything. He cut me a great deal as both my clutch and transmission were shot, saving me at least $200 from anywhere else that I checked with. He even took the time to explain how the transmission and clutch work and why mine had failed, then showed me the actual parts afterwards so I could better understand. Still running great a year and about 25,000 miles later. Thanks!!

Friends suggested we take our 2000 Honda Accord to Tim's for a new transmission after our factory transmission made it to 158,000 miles. Tim put in a new transmission which I now understand was a rebuilt transmission and we paid $2,400. Thirty thousand miles later Tim's rebuilt transmission went out but no warranty because it was over 12 months. The repairs to their cheap transmission cost us another $1,700.00. Now I have found out that other shops will give you a 100,000 mile warrant on their transmissions they install. Wish I had know this sooner. We are now in our third transmission. Shop around and think twice, a 12 month warranty or pay about $600 more and get a 100,000 mile warranty. Wish I had it over to do!
