All the other local Stihl suppliers did not have the chainsaw chain I needed. Stark street did. Plus the staff I spoke with were VERY knowledgeable about electric power tools. I walked out with a much better understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of battery operated tools from chainsaws to leaf blowers. HIGHLY recommend this place!!

After trying multiple ways to get lawn mower started after sitting for the winter, I resigned to taking it in for repair. Harold on the phone prior to this was friendly and had suggested one more thing to try; John at the sign in for service desk said I d tried all the things they would have, and offered to just sell me a carburetor to install myself. It worked! And, I did not have to wait three weeks for their team to resolve the issue. Thanks for the help and saving me $$.

After a lot of research and seeing if I wanted to buy a new or used saw, I finally decided on purchasing new. I gave Stark Street call and discussed my options. I talked with Rick, who was so helpful, knowledgeable and really understood what I was wanting to use the saw for. I am a woodturner and mill my own wood for bowls. So I initially purchased the Stihl MS271 with a 20 bar. I went thru 4 tanks, but it was not working the way I needed. I called Rick, who told me to bring it in so the could look at it. As they were looking at it, I asked if I could just upgrade to the Stihl MS311. Even though the other saw was working (not for my needs) he said yes and just wanted to make sure I got the right saw. I talked with a number of the gentlemen at Stark Street in Beaverton who have been always willing to help. I highly recommend all the people at Stark Street as they really take care of there customers. The experience was so good that I had to call them to let them know how much I love the new saw and appreciated the service and for treating me so well. Stark Street Lawn & Garden (Beaverton) store customer for life. Also - love the new location!!

I purchased my first chainsaw from Stark Street lawn and garden. They took the time to run me through everything that I needed to know. I immediately had issues with it not starting, and went back to ask them why. They took it apart and figured out that one of their new technicians failed to put oil in it before test starting it for me when I bought it. They took full accountability and replaced the saw with a new one. As far as I'm concerned, I care more about accountability and solving problems than I do about getting things right the first time, and they impressed me with how well they handled the mistake. They didnt blame me or claim that I did something wrong, even though they knew it was my first saw, and my replacement saw has been running perfectly. I appreciate the awesome customer service and I'll surely be here again when I decide to upgrade to a larger saw in the future.

I bought a Stihl chain saw form them and to no fault of the saw I burned up the clutch. They went above and beyond and got the factory to clam it as warranty. They also fixed it in 24 hours. I would and will HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! GREAT SERVICE!

Staff was super nice and knowledgeable. Only downfall is that they only service the brands they sell.

Great store! Large parking lot and a HUGE inventory. Staff are friendly and eager to help/answer questions. They also aren't afraid to tell you potential negatives about a product. No "hard sell" they just want you to get the right machine/tool for the job.

The team at Stark Street is very knowledgeable and helped me problem solve a surging issue on my mower. They helped pull the exact parts needed for my specific motor and my mower is up and running like new once again. Highly recommend.

Just to be clear at the start, this is a positive review!I got my chainsaw chain back from SS after having it sharpened, and attempted to use it, only to find that the chain appeared to be completely dull still. Upon taking it back to SS to inquire about the issue and either get a refund or have it sharpened again, they kindly educated me that the chain is only sharp in one direction. Yes, I had installed it backwards! Hard to admit for someone who works with tools constantly - I totally reacted without thinking. But the way they calmly explained and helped was very much appreciated.(Once re-installed) the chain was super sharp and ready to go!Thanks, guys, for the help and not making me feel like an idiot, LOL.

We have been taking our Lawn mower in to these guys for years. Recently it seems like they have been having trouble with staffing and its caused a bit of a back log. As a person who worked in customer service and trained people in customer service I was impressed in how they handled the stress. They were very clear about how long it would take and recommended we go to their other location. This was closer so we chose to wait but it was great that they were clear about the very long wait time. When we got it back there was an issue with the fuel line after they had done a full service and they covered the cost completely. I know that this may have been an oversight by the mechanic but with low staffing and high business volume mistakes will happen, what matters most is how they handled it. By covering the cost and apologizing I will keep going there. They are busy because they are good, and anybody with a business can understand the frustration of losing staff. Keep up the good work and keep being honest and straight forward with your customers.

The staff is always nice and fairly knowledgeable. The issue I ve had is the last two purchases have been assembled wrong, missing screws and/or pieces. Something as simple as following the directions or a quality check would catch. Make sure you give anything you decide to purchase a good once over before you leave, it s a pain to have to drive back.

Just bought a brand new lawnmower here. The employee, John, walked me through the features/benefits of over 8 models to find the right one for me. He made sure what I was buying wasnt something that I didnt need and even took the time to explain the various engine model benefits/problems of each brand. I was there 30 minutes, but I was confident that I left with a good purchase and a solid backup support from this business for the future.

I have used Stark for years, but the last few years the customer service has gone down hill. I took my tiller in to find out what was wrong. It took them a week to get back to me. He said it would be ready the following Friday. I called on Friday- 4 times- and every time I got a recording to leave a message. I drove over and was told the parts hadn't even come in yet. I waited some more. 20 days after I brought the tiller in and a phone message to them about poor customer service I got a phone call back that my tiller was done. Stark needs to hire a secretary to communicate with customer and let the customer know what is going on.

I try to support local businesses whenever I can, I have tried to fulfill my small engine maintenance several times by shopping for parts here, but every single time they are rude, ignorant, and unhelpful. Unless you are dropping something off for THEM to service for you, they will talk down to you as if you are a moron. Save your time and order online.. these guys are worthless! I tried to purchase a universal muffler and this was too much to ask of a small engine shop..

This is COLOSSAL LAWN CARE LLC. Before I started coming to this store, I was coming here as an employee of a big landscape business to purchase anything we can think of; weed wackers, blowers, screws, etc, etc. Now I own COLOSSAL LAWN CARE LLC and this is the store that helps business grow. Since I been coming to this store, sales representatives have been knowledgeable and help full. In two occasions they had couple specials that I did not know about that seve me money . They are straight foward in terms of time for repair or extra expenses that might come up. Customers are first and Stark Street take care of us. It is a win win situation. Last, I had an emergency with 3 of my invoices from different years, I send a request to the manager an next day I got a response that they were working on it. Same day, they send me all I need it for my Taxes and save me TONS of time and money.Stark Street Lawn & Garden are my go for years to come!!!! Highly recommended!!!!Keep up the good work !!!!!

Bought a leaf blower here. Positive experience. Staff was able to answer all my questions. The warranty doubles (2 years to 4 years) on a leaf blower when you buy a 6 pack of oil ($14)

I bought a new model trimer from Stark street. It had problems and John and the manager Rick went to great lengths to get them resolved in a very fair fashion. A great place!

We have been going to Stark Street Lawn & Garden for several years. We bought our last Toro lawnmower there and have gone back for sevices; they are always so nice and do a good job. My latest lawnmower problem was caused by my putting too much oil in and needing a new filter. In just a few minutes they drained the excess oil, put a new filter in, made one other minor adjustment and problem solved! The filter cost $5.99 -- I'll bring it back another day for a complete service / tune up.

I dropped my trimmer off to have it sharpened and they quoted me $55. Proce seemed steep, but if that's the pirce, that's the price. I needed it done quick and they were close to the house. I went to pick it up today and the guy at the counter said "Okay, that'll be $63." "What? We agreed on $55." I said. Turns out he thought it was a 24" blade and it turned out to be longer. Okay, honest mistake, but I'm sorry, but that's not my problem. If you said $55, I should pay $55.Not cool. A deal is a deal. I will not be using them for their sharpening services again.

Very disappointed with the experience and even more with the response from Richard Schimmel the Store manager. From a start point for lawn mower tune up of $95 it ended up at $143.21. He was very obtuse with me and in his response letter to me he stated and I quote. Since there are only a handful of small engine repair shops in the Portland Metro area, maybe next time you should try Roy Boys .

Brought in our lawnmower and they said it would be three weeks, which turned into 5 weeks. I had to ask for a discount since the wait was over the time, which they gave me 10%. Brought the mower home, used it once and now it does not work. Called them and now there is a 45 day wait...told me to go to the Sherwood location. Sorry...just not good service in my eyes.

Knowledgable & helpful staff. Time frames for repairs are a bit long, but was allowed a loaner mower to trim my lawn up in the meantime. Would come back.

Customer service sucks. Having something fixed and they used old parts and still charged me for the new ones and took them a week for something that i was told it would be ready the next day. I would go someplace else if i was you.
