CUSTOMER BEWARE! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Bad mechanics in PDX area are a dime a dozen and this place will take you for a ride if you are foolish enough to trust them!Ross & Al are deceptive and will recommend unnecessary repairs they know they can defend later on. Need to choose my battles because if they looked me in the eye and lied like that then you can expect them to do the same in court. They performed unauthorized repairs after I asked them to provide me estimates in writing first. Kept my car for almost a month. Car was still acting up when I went to pick it up.Expensive lesson learned! NEVER AGAIN!

I brought my truck in bc it looked the way it looks in the attached photos. Ross or Russ (?) looked at it the second I walked in and knew what was wrong. He told me straight up what was wrong, what the price would be, and kept me updated. They fixed my truck quick! 10/10 recommend getting your maintenance done here.

Really happy with my experience at Japanese Auto Service. They were quick, accurate, thorough, AND pleasant. The price was fair and they made quick work of fixing my 2008 Honda CRV. I'll be back for any future work and will not hesitate to recommend them

About a year ago, I brought my 2006 Subaru WRX into the shop after a blown head gasket. After the better part of two months, $4,000 of repairs, and several months of hindsight, I would not reccomend coming here for a job of that magnitude.Initially upon receiving the car, I was just happy to have it running again but then had the car's throttle body stop working, meaning I was left crawling along the highway shoulder several times, panicking to reset it. To their credit, the guys there did replace that part out of their own pocket afterwards due to the inconvenience it caused, hence two stars.Since then, I have had so many continuing issues that were supposed to be addressed while the car was there, from a sizable oil leak to the valve covers needing to be replaced and a misfire occurring at idle.A repair that was supposed to give me peace of mind for reliability for at least a few years has only increased my doubts about the car's longterm health for my use.

My 2010 Honda Accord was using a lot of gasoline, and the engine had no power, in a few hours they gave me the diagnosis, which was very accurate, they repaired it in one day and when I checked it, I didn't need all the new parts of the distribution chain and they reduced 300 dollars of the estimated price, I will definitely recommend it to my friends..

This place should be out of business! Totally dishonest. I called and talked to the business owner Ross about what was going on with my car and he assured me he could help. I brought my vehicle in and within 2 minutes of having it up on the lift Ross was trying to tell me I had several other issues other than what I brought it in for. This seemed very fishy to me so I declined having them do the work. I was finally able to get an appointment with my regular mechanic and upon inspection they confirmed my suspicions that Ross was indeed full of it! The owner is a liar! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Tried to get me for another $400 plus dollars! The owner should be ashamed of himself! Please note that I was very specific when asking my trusted mechanic about what Ross said was wrong with my car and multiple mechanics could not find a thing wrong with what he was stating. Save yourself the hassle and find somewhere else.

They repaired my car on short notice and in a timely manner. Beaverton Toyota wanted over $2300 for a repair Japanese Auto Service completed for a little over $1000.

My old Subaru blew two coolant hoses, these guys got my car up and running the same day. Gave me a break on price because I was in a bad financial place. I plan on taking my car back whenever it has issues, not because of the price break, it's that they care. Now that I'm more financially stable, these guys are now my mechanics for life.

Their customer service is always amazing. However they are always busy it is recommended to set up an appointment to drop off your vehicle. They always go above and beyond and make positive recommendations to benefit you in your vehicle.

Firaz was awesome! I was super nervous about embarking on a 3k mile journey across the country in my little Prius, so I took my car over to double check that everything was okay.Firaz asked great questions and did a thorough check to ensure that nothing needed fixing. He even provided some excellent advice on handling cosmetic issues that I hadn't even noticed.Best of all, he recommended me to other reputable stores that offered things his wouldn't be able to have on hand before I had to leave for my trip. It's always GREAT to find someone so genuinely humble and helpful that they help you find what you're looking for even when it means directing you elsewhere. Thanks so much for the excellent service!

Ross was very professional and really went the extra mile to repair my vehicle. I have never met a more friendly and expedient mechanic. He went directly to the source of the mechanical problem my vehicle was having and didn't stop until the job was done all in the same day. Thanks again Ross and Crew!!! That's one less thing I have to stress about!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Electrical

Drive from battleground Washington to have my breaks done. Chris was able to get all four breaks and front rotors done in well under an hour. As well as after hours for me due to my hour drive.

Ross was great to deal with. He helped prepare a Subaru for me in time for my trip to Idaho to deliver the car to my sister. I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing service done on their Japanese automotive.

Ross and the team here did great on repairing both sides of my headlight assemblies. When I first called - I spoke to Al which I believe is the owner, he suggested I buy the parts somewhere or even amazon. Which I ended up doing and they ve be happy to do the labor.Dropped my car off on Friday and picked it up Saturday afternoon.Great pricing and they did great!

Initial review was 3/5 stars due to unsatisfied service. AL, the owner, contacted me directly to resolve issue with my inspection. Awesome guy, cares about his business and customers. He did not have to, but he refunded me for the inspection and also provided another inspection himself to guide me in the right direction to get my suspension issues resolved. His willingness to reach out and "make things right" was beyond what most would do and I appreciate him for that. Great guy, *Thank you sir!*If I want to get some motor work done, they will be the first place I go to.

We had some significant engine repairs done here recently. Very happy with the overall experience including costs and followup. We had a slight oil leak after we took delivery and Japanese Auto Services was all over it. I would rate their customer service and integrity A+

Worst place to ever to take a vehicle. The work they did failed two times within months of their service. Hired another shop to fix their fail work. Later took them to court to get what I paid back. I won the court case.

I went to two auto repair shops in Beaverton, before coming to Japanese Auto Services. They could not diagnose the problem. Ross figured out the problem quickly, which was a faulty front axle and outer tie rod. He did fix it quickly at a reasonable cost. I will defiantly be using Japanese Auto Service in the future. I would recommend this shop to a friend.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance

My husband and I called to have our infinity g35 taken in for new valve seals and some other things. On the phone they said yes we can do the job and to bring it down. Well after a week later we called to check on on the car and the owner, Al said that now he wouldn t do the job because he didn t want to work with the warranty after telling us it wasn t a problem. What s the point of a warranty if it s not good anywhere! I don t appreciate them having my car for a week when my family was having a hard time getting around. We had to rent a car for a week so now that money is out of my family s pocket and we don t have our car fixed. We came here because we saw the great reviews and he s a specialist on Japanese cars. I m very angry and feel this man is now dishonest. Just thought I d share my experience with Al and Ross.

I started bringing my cars here years ago and I have never been disappointed. They are fast, knowledgeable, and most of all they are honest! They explain any and all problems they find as well as any and all repair options. Nice to have a trustworthy information source in the auto repair world. I would recommend them to anyone.

The Best Place For Repairs,I had been looking for a reliable car for my daughter to drive across the country. After finding a 2004 Honda Accord that seemed like a solid option, I took it for a pre-purchase inspection to the local Honda dealer in Beaverton and paid $175.00 for a complete pre-purchase inspection report. The report indicated this car was in need of $4,324.22 in repairs and maintenance items. I brought the car into Japanese Auto Services for a 2nd opinion. I was pleased to meet the owner Al and after talking with him I'm convinced he is an expert with Asian automotive repairs. Al could have simply agreed that all these items needed to be done, and then agreed to do the work at a lower cost to earn my business. However, much to my amazement, Al did just the opposite. He looked at the vehicle and agreed some things were needed but, advised many of the items simply were not warranted. Not only did he tell me what was and was not needed but, being mechanically inclined myself, he actually showed me all the items that were needed and why the vast majority of the items were not. The total cost of the repairs was $394.92, a savings of $3,929.30! If you are looking for a great honest repair shop you can stop looking now because you just found one. Additionally, Al uncovered a real issue which the dealership had misdiagnosed which would have been a much more costly and unnecessary repair. This issue was in fact so difficult to figure out I'm convinced Japanese Auto Services are the real experts in Portland and surrounding counties. I would confidently send my daughter here to bring her car for service without ever having to worry she would be overcharged. Excellent business and with the owner present it's a major plus.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

I had a busted engine mount on my Acura. I called around and not only did Asian Auto have the best price, they provided the best experience on the phone. This was the only shop where they answered my call, I told them what was broken, and they agreed to fix it. There was no run around of 'are you sure' or 'how do you know' or 'we're going to need to do a $X inspection first.' Ross ordered my part mid day, before I had even seen him or delivered my car. He wanted to be sure it arrived as soon as possible the next day. I was in before my shift at work and I picked up my car when I got off. My experience was nothing short of exceptional. I recently moved here from Colorado and subsequently lost my trusted mechanic. I either did my work or went to him to get the complex stuff done. Here, I'd been to no shops and have no friends knowledgeable enough to be trusted with a reference (eg: 'oh, just go to the dealer, right?'). I could not have chosen better. They have all my future mechanical needs.Great serviceFast fixingQuality for your moneyGo see Ross

Wow, this place is great. A Honda dealer I thought I could trust and have for years now, told me my rear brakes needed replaced since they were at 25-30% in the rear. They even stated "I'm surprised you didn't hear the scratching noise from the brake wear indicators?" I knew what they were talking about due to knowing some basic facts about brake pads/systems. Anyway, I thought I'd check around for price comparison for replacement pads and decided on this place because of reviews. The shop let me know right away that my brakes were in great condition and were at about 70%. No work needed at this time except for the fluid flush that Honda also said I needed. They saved me a bunch of money and just earned all my future business for all of our Japanese cars. Thanks. George Will, Beaverton OR

I took my car into these guys in November of last year to replace my timing belt and exhaust gaskets. I think their prices are reasonable, but they still practice stereotypical mechanic behavior. I was told that the work they had done on my car had a warranty on the parts and labor. Lately my car has developed what sounds like an exhaust leak. Typically when you hear an exhaust leak it is associated with a bad exhaust gasket. As i mentioned earlier, when i took my car in i was told we will replace your exhaust gaskets and if anything happens you can bring the car in and it is covered under the warranty.I took my car in to them 3 days ago and on the first day i was told the warranty would cover the replacement, 2 days later i called them to follow up with the progress of the work on the car. This time i was told that only the gasket was under warranty and that they were having a hard time finding the part. They suggested that i find the part for them and pay for it LOL! after i was told this I went to go pickup my car faster then jimmy john delivery! Not only did they disregard their warranty, but they insultingly tried to get me to go buy the part for them to install and then charge me additionally for labor. This should have been all covered by THEIR warranty which should really be printed out on their receipt(which it is not) I will make sure to not make the mistake to take my car to this place again. If you really need to take your car to this place make sure you get AL or Ross to sign off on your receipt implying that you DO have a warranty. Get them to write down what their warranty covers specifically! When you flash money theses guys will promise to do extra work ,but they won't do what they say. So please beware of the actions these guys will take if you are unaware.Your better off taking your car to V-tech Auto Repair which is only 5 minutes away from this place, at least they can afford to print out your warranty information. Oh and by the way, i located the part they "couldn't find" in 5 minutes by calling Toyota. As for myself, ill continue to educate myself on how to work on my own car since you really cant trust other peoples to work on your car now a days.
