I came here because the reviews were so good, and as a woman I am nervous when trying new mechanics. I called and Bill was very nice and helpful - he got me a quote and called me back and everything. When I arrived everything was in order. They fixed my headlights and did a great job. Bill handled the whole transaction.When I went to leave and got into my car, my radio was broken - the front popped off. I'm not sure how they managed to break my radio since they were fixing the headlights, but they did. I went back in and Rob was condescending about it, saying that they went nowhere near the radio. He and Luis came out to see it, and Rod said that it was clearly installed poorly and that it was quite the coincidence - repeatedly stating it was a coincidence - but that they would do their best to fix it.I do not appreciate the insinuation that I scammed them into fixing my radio, especially since it is still broken after they "fixed" it. Suddenly my radio slid back instead of staying in place and it would play my CD, but I couldn't eject it. The only buttons that would work were the volume buttons. I had to pry the front off to remove my CD to save it.They did not offer any form of compensation for breaking my radio, which I will now have to pay more money for elsewhere to fix. I do not appreciate being gaslighted. I will not be returning to this shop.EDIT: I talked with Bill again and he apologized for the experience I had, which I greatly appreciate. He recommended a place to get my radio fix and offered to help out with it. I went there, and the employee there actually fixed it for free. Because of Bill trying to make it right, I bumped up my review by a star. Bill provides excellent customer service.

Bill was Fantastic helping us out! We have a small fleet of vehicles and one of our service vehicles suddenly had a water pump failure. Bill and the team at J&S got us in same day and out same day and $400 less than dealership! I couldn't have had a better experience...I will bring all our vehicles there from now on!

Jon is awesome. He loves cars and knows his way around them. He has an awesome crew too. Took about a week to get in around Oct of 2023. Not bad compared to other people's experiences at other shops these days! Very happy.

Picked this place due to the reviews. I'd return. Thought my jeep blew a head gasket but it was just faulty hoses. They could have ran with my original self diagnosis and charged me a ton, but they were honest about it all.

Easy to work with, ordered an OEM part and they installed in an hour for my wife s 2020 Range Rover Velar - the dealership would have cost twice as much and taken 2 months to get us on the schedule- highly recommended

Highly recommend!!!The guys here are great! They know what they're doing and they enjoy doing it! Their prices are very reasonable.While I was waiting for my radiator flush they were talking about a part for a different car. They were poking fun at each other and it was hilarious! Just what I needed to brighten my day. Comfy chairs in waiting room, TV, water cooler with hot chocolate or apple cider.

I had been a loyal customer of Midas for many years but due to some bad experiences, I quit going there. My friend highly recommended J & S so scheduled some services. Rob was very helpful and friendly. Left my car there and received a call a few hours later asking if they could replace the air filter and cabin filter. I appreciated that since it wasn't part of the initial estimate. I returned to pick up my car and was told there were a few more issues that needed repair. I have no hesitation bringing it back to them and am very happy with their cutomer service and expertise.Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement, Auto maintenance, Oil change

We are so happy to have found a local auto shop that you can trust. We have used them three times now, and this is the place to go. Fair prices, and they always fit us right in. Friendly staff, and quick turnaround. Love these guys!

Seems like any time I drop my car off expecting to spend $90 on an oil change, mechanics always find a bunch of other work they want to do and quote me $3500.Not this place!$88 for the oil changeThey say they inspected everything else and nothing needed workI dropped off the car in the morning and picked it up before noonNo complaints! Love it

Our truck was making a strange noise. They were unable to accommodate us due to their schedule. John jumped into our truck, drove it and gave us great advice and help and all at no charge. He s definitely getting our business when the repair is due.

I had made in appointment thinking I needed a wheel alignment because I thought my car was pulling to the right. Even over the phone John was very helpful letting me know the steps he would take looking at my Jeep before he decided it needed the alignment.Once I got to the shop he took me on a test drive, which no one has ever done for me. During the drive he informed me on all these different reasons as to why it could be pulling to the right. At the end of it he told me that my car didn't need an alignment just a possible tire rotation. I left the shop feeling more knowledgeable about my vehicle and confident that everything was okay. I got my tires from Costco so I went there instead to do the rotation.It was one of the best experiences I've had at an auto shop. I could tell he was in the business of helping people. If I ever have actual car trouble this would be the place to go! Thank you John for being so helpful, honest and informative!Service: Wheel alignment

Took my car in there for no heat issue they said I had no oil and a crack in radiator. First off I just took it to jiffy lube for a top off and second if I had no oil the engine would knock and seize up. They told me I should sell my car and get new one because mine is junk they charged me 150 bucks to wrongly diagnose my car. I took it to a real mechanic and he told me I have a leaking water pump and a swollen water hose and it is burning oil because of high mileage and just to top of oil every thousand miles. I do not recommend this place to anyone go somewhere were they know what they are doing. I don't have the wrong shop you were going to charge us more to repair but obviously that was not the problem cars under my moms name or here grandkids either way you are a rip offService: Auto engine diagnostic

I have come to J & S for years and have had the most positive experiences. Most recently, we brought over my partner's car for some extensive repairs. J & S were thorough, reasonable, and made sure our Subaru was roadworthy for years to come. Taylor and Rob are great!

By far the best automotive repair shop I've been to in over ten years! Honest and professional mechanics that do it right the first time. Rob is really nice, and he responds really quickly with any questions or concerns. More importantly, my 2004 MDX was destined for the scrap yard, but these guys brought it back to live and it runs SO smoothly now! My Kia Optima was towed to J&S Automotive. I needed a new starter and brakes. I shared all the work I previously had done with Rob. He shared the information with Dallas, the mechanic, who looked at these repairs to ensure they were done correctly. He also replaced a broken part that he had found which would have caused me to lose the engine. And I was not charged! J&S Auto does amazing work at such great prices. I am so thankful to have a mechanic I can trust for any future services. Thank you J&S Automotive. This place was recommended by a mechanic who used to be very responsive and offered fair and reasonable prices but became too busy to handle his overflow of customers. I love these guys so much that I will never go back to the other guy and remain a steady customer. They're fast and furious. Rob is on the ball, thorough, knowledgeable and professional, while the technicians there are outstanding. They know the nuances of car repair. Best of all, they're HONEST! John (the J in J&S) found an envelope behind the dashboard cabin filter in my 2003 Toyota Camry, which needed to be replaced. Inside was $120 in cash that my fianc�e has misplaced 6 months ago after depositing some money into her bank. Who the heck does that?! Only the very best people possible, which is sadly a rarity in today's world. John also suggested that a dealer recommendation to have the frontend aligned on my 2013 Toyota Prius was pointless after closer inspection of the steering column and how the tires were wearing. In addition, Rob saved me a ton of money by suggesting I check into whether an extended warranty would cover an expensive brake job on the Prius, which I inherited from my elderly mother who had the good sense to purchase the additional coverage. That saved me a few grand. Rob also provided keen insight into the dealership world where he used to work. Don't pass these guys up. J & S Automotive is my go to when I am having problems with my car. They are always helpful and know what to do. There have been a couple times where I took my car in thinking there was a major issue only to find out it was a simple fix... and they didn't even charge me! We went to them for a pre-purchase inspection. The inspection was thorough and provided advice on top of it. The only issue was that they gave the report to the seller of the vehicle as well even though they told us they would not. From a negotiating standpoint that was disappointing. I still gave them 4 stars because the rest of their service was satisfactory or great.

When you go to this mechanic's shop you will likely talk to the owner directly, and he will probably be the one to work on your car. The shop is clean, organized and has a comfortable waiting area. I have never had any problems with the work J&S has done, and I feel that if I did it would be fixed immediately. The prices are fair and more than competitive from my perspective.I'm really not sure where I would go if J&S weren't around. I've been to about 6 different shops and I stopped looking after going here a few times.

I have been to J&S quite a few times and my experience has always been great. I went in this last time with no idea what was making a weird sound in my steering. They diagnosed it quickly and skillfully and let me know what the issue was without trying to add on a bunch of extra stuff I didn't need. Their pricing is fair and you can always trust them to do the job right. I will definitely keep coming back!

I trust J & S Auto. We have been a customer of theirs for about 8 years. John (owner) and Phil are always very friendly, straightforward, and honest about the work that needs to be done. If the work can wait they will tell you that too! Our cars always run great when we get them back. J & S is truly a mechanic you can trust!

Long story short, I messed up replacing the rear pads and rotors on my 2015 F150 when putting the electronic parking brake in service mode. That mistake broke a caliper piston. They had me in and out the same day at a reasonable price.

I've taken my family's cars to Jon and Kevin for years. Being raised by an expert mechanic(my Dad), I'm far from an easy customer to please. That said, I haven't found a more honest, knowledgeable and competitively priced mechanic. I don't live close to this shop and I still insist on bringing my vehicles here for all levels of service. I recommend J&S to friends and family all the time and they share similar experiences.These guys will help keep your car running longer.Keep up the excellent work!

Jon was recommended to me through a friend who has been Jon's customer for years. I took my Mom's van to him to inspect a previous mechanic's work, as well as, generally inspect some other aspects of the van's functionality.Jon broke down exactly what was bad, not good, but okay to ignore for now, and what was good about the van. I now have a plan of action in regards to the van and could not be happier with the cheerful, thorough and honest work Jon has done for me.Next week I plan on taking my Honda Civic in for a repair to Jon, as well as, all of my future car repair needs that may arise.9/30/2013I've had my Civic to J&S twice since my original review. I still highly recommend J&S Automotive! I've worked with Kevin as well now. He was also friendly and very informative when reviewing the work done.Great job guys!

I need a category higher than excellent. Jon and J & S are the absolute best I have ever known for all the years I've been driving. Jon is the most honest, fair, and just plain nice guy to whom I've ever had the pleasure of trusting my car. His integrity is second to none. His passion for cars is so apparent it just pours out of him. I really appreciate that. In the past, I've dreaded taking my car in for service. Jon has completely turned it around to where I look forward to taking it in. But what's even better is that he does such spectacular work, that I don't even have to go in very much at all. I could not recommend J & S any higher. Jon has become our family mechanic as my parents and older brother all happily bring out cars to J & S. I'm considering relocating to the Seattle area, and I would honestly say that I would even drive all the way back to Portland just for Jon to do a tune-up. I have never had such peace-of-mind when driving a car away from an auto shop as I do with J & S. Way, way beyond excellent!

J & S has definitely won a convert. Normally I've done most of the work on cars myself, but as life gets more complicated and busy, these guys have been a great help. So far they're the best prices on service I've gotten. Always professional and prompt, I recommend them whenever I have some car troubles.

I have been incredibly happy ever since I found J&S Automotive. They do an excellent job at fixing what you ask, charging a fair price, and completing the work in a timely and professional manor. Another thing I appreciate is that they won't add work without telling you, but they aren't afraid to let you know when something is wrong that you may not have known about. I will happily continue taking my cars here for as long as I am able.

John is hands down one of the most amazing individuals I've ever had the privilege of knowing. They've done quiet a few jobs for us on our vehicle and I honestly don't know that I will ever go anywhere else to have work done on my vehicles.The first job they did for us was a tricky one to figure out. Our van kept throwing the same code and we had fixed everything that could have possibly been the problem. So we gave in and took it to J&S. I'm so glad we did. One of the guys thought to send a camera down into one of the valves and low and behold it was a broken spring. Everywhere else we went folks quoted us over a thousand dollars. John quoted us $700. Once they found the problem they actually ended up only charging us half of what they quoted. Good honest work in my opinion.Second issue, my brakes were sounding real bad. Went to Les Schwab (BIG mistake) they quoted us over $1,200. That didn't sound right to me so I called up John. Just shy of $500 and our van was fixed and running smooth again.Third time, I had a family emergency and I had to leave out of state and I was nervous about not being able to get my van services before hitting the road. Once again John saved the day. I called them up, he told me to come on by. When I pulled up he came right out. Asked how far I was going. Checked the mileage on my van and started checking the fluids and battery and tires. Topped up my oil cuz I was about a quart low and told me to watch my gauges and advised me on what to do when I go to where I was going. He wished me a safe journey and said he'd see me when I got back for an oil change. I thanked him and asked him how much I owed him and he told me not to worry about it, just to drive safe and he hoped my family was alright.That is a decent human being in my mind.Oh and did I mention you get a t-shirt for any job they do over $500? It's been a pretty comfy pajama shirt.
