Outstanding in every measurable way. From the opening phone call, to retrieving my now repaired vehicle, I was treated respectfully, fairly and (drum roll) with wonderful humor. No one wants car problems, but when they happen, PNW is the shop.

They are very friendly and the service was great. The only minor issue I had was with the communication, my vehicle needed some bolts to be ordered and installed that I didn't know I needed. They ordered and installed them before talking to me about it and it made my bill go up obviously. Now I have no problem paying for the bolts ($42), my issue is they never said anything to me until I got back to pick my vehicle back up.Also when making the appointment for a diagnostic exam to be done they were telling me 3hrs and at the 8hr mark I had to reach out to them for updates on the status. I also wasn't told about the added cost until I return to pick up the vehicle. But 10/10 will be taking vehicles back in the future.

This is a great shop. The family who own it are so kind. I am so glad to have them be apart our community. They do such wonderful light displays! I am so happy to know I can trust the work they do because she takes pictures and always make sure I understand what's going on under the hood of my own vehicle!

Charged 180 just to hook up to code reader and tell me they cant fix it. ( had to take my vehicle elsewhere and start over) Also Not the best at returning phone calls, caring about client time or concerns , had my car there for at least 5 days past the appointment time without a word; I called and asked for an update twice while being told I would get a call back. Went over an entire weekend with no call back and no vehicle..... wish I could say better but can't unfortunately. If your car is newer just take it to a dealer.

Huge shoutout to PNW Automotive Inc again for completing work on my car with a VERY quick turn around time. It was a matter of days when my appt was scheduled AND completed. The work was very fast, and done very well. Just like every time, the whole staff is friendly and remembers faces, so it s like a second family every time I m in the office!I got a surprise gift upon getting in my car after they were done. When we had a brake down heading down 101 for vacation in Oregon with our 2 dogs, PNW took us immediately, diagnosed and fixed the problem to get us back on the road in no time! Great customer service except for significant lag to complete the quote for the repair, the wait was tolerable but did have several promises on the timeline to receive the quote that were not fulfilled. I just kept checking back.The repair itself which was to replace a solenoid emissions valve was quick and the car, a Fiat, is running well. A new rattle that had appeared after the diagnostics were done was identified as a minor part that may have loosened in the troubleshooting process and was easily fixed.The process and my interactions with everyone at PNW were otherwise very positive. I was glad to find a local shop that specializes in European cars and will return if the Fiat needs more attention and for maintenance.Services: Engine repair, Vehicle Inspection, Car waxing, Oil change

So relieved that this was a fantastic experience as it s always daunting to try finding a mechanic that you can trust. After the clutch failed on my Subie and I had very few options in town to repair it, I knew I could potentially be laid over a barrel and taken advantage of. As far as I can tell, though, I was treated very fairly. PNW Automotive was very flexible and accommodating. Once I could actually get the vehicle to them, they got it diagnosed and fixed in two or three days at a reasonable price. Transmission work is never cheap. Furthermore, the interior had been vacuumed and they even left a Halloween goodie bag.

So what positives can you take from your vehicle breaking down out of town and 150 miles from home and work on a Sunday no less? If you re as fortunate as myself you could meet and be bailed out by Jeremy and Ashley at PNW! I love my older and more experienced BMW s but the downside is apparent when you have a problem in a less populated area devoid of numerous technicians willing or able to lend a hand. I can tell you there was nothing more reassuring than hearing Jeremy s voice when I called out of the blue on Sunday afternoon and he told me to bring it in first thing Monday to check it out! It only got better when I found myself apologizing for the car and he followed with We love BMW s . As we had hoped it was a relatively simple fix(bad coil) however not roadworthy until diagnosed and repaired. This young couple s pleasant can do attitude and absolute fairness was so impressive and served to remind us that there are still a few really good people doing really great business. In fact, we re considering moving to Astoria just so they can be there for the entire fleet! Thanks again.Sincerely, Richard and Gina Classen

My husband took our Jeep in for diagnostic work due to a check engine light. Despite spending several hundred dollars for the work, they would only tell us that we needed to spend 3k to have the head gasket replaced. despite asking several times, they refused to provide any of the notes or diagnostic information we paid for.Overall a really rude and unprofessional experience. The lady on the desk seems to hate working there and goes out of her way to provide the worst customer experience possible.Would not recommend anyone use this business. They pretend to give a good service with flashy warranty info and vacuuming the footwells but its a cover to just try and get you to pay thousands of dollars for work that they refuse to prove that you need.

Took our truck in June 2022, called 2-3 times per month didn't get it back until November. It wasn't fixed. Still a bad exhaust valve. Given a "warranty", doesn't cover the issue...or any other issues. Couldn't take it back as we had moved 400 miles away. Very unhappy! I m so glad i decided to go to PNW Automotive when i had head gasket + various other problems on my Subaru outback, everyone working there is genuinely kind and caring. They explained the details of what went wrong and why expertly, and gave me tips on how to maintain my car long term. They have a 3 year warranty for 36,000 miles, which i think is incredible. If you are looking at mechanics on the coast and debating on who to choose, i highly recommend PNW Automotive! Also they give free seasonal themed goodie bags, which is very cute and considerate.

Terrible experience. Rude and intentionally unhelpful:I made an appointment for a Monday morning at 9am. My check engine light was on and AC not blowing cold. When i arrived they informed me that they were 'down a technician' and that the service would take longer than usual. I live 30 mins away and have only one vehicle so said that I had to wait. They said that I could either wait for the potentially extended time or come back another day when they had all of their technicians working. I decided to come back and made an appointment on thursday.When I arrived on thursday i was told it would take around 2 hours. I said that was fine and they could call me any time as I would be waiting nearby. After 4 hours I attempted called several times over the space of an hour but with no answer. After 5.5 hours I returned to get an update. When i arrived, my car was parked up with no one working on it. The girl on the desk said they needed more time with it. I said I had run out of time and needed to leave. I was then informed that the technician's notes and quotes for the work would be sent over. I asked why it had taken so long and why no one had called me. The girl's tone immediately changed and went into defensive, passive aggressive mode.I was told:'your car wasnt the first on the list that day''we dont usually let people wait for a diagnostic we just made a one time exception to be nice''the phones have been weird today''we didnt even have anyone here monday that could have done it anyway'Questions:-When you knew you couldnt perform the service monday, why didnt you call me to let me know so that i didnt waste over an hour of my time coming in to be told this in person?-Why did you not mention that it could take much longer than 2 hours and you dont usually allow people to wait for diagnostic until AFTER i came back after waiting all day and asked?-once you knew I was waiting why did you not call me to let me know it was going to take a much longer time?-Why have a person working whose only job is to communicate with customers if she doesnt want to do that?-how long would you have kept me waiting without calling me?-Why have scheduled time appointments if you're not going to work on that car until you're ready?My issues are not to do with the work that was done, just that i was messed around over the course of 2 days with no communication, then when i pointed that out, you then no longer wanted to engage with me professional or helpfully.The quotes/information was never sent over to me. I had to call a few days later and a gentlemen answered. I explained that I was waiting for the diagnostic info and he said he'd pass on the message and get it sent over. Still NOTHING WAS SENT. i then had to call AGAIN to ask for the info to be sent. I was then sent the quotes for the work but absolutely no info about the diagnostics that were performed. Simply, 'need new compressor and head gasket 3k' isnt what i was asking for. I asked in several ways for more info but because I had given (polite and calm) feedback they no longer wanted to be helpful or courteous as they knew i probably would get the work done elsewhere. At no point did i raise my voice, act in an aggressive manner or do anything other than enquire as to why i had not received any communication throughout my experience. Communication that would have solved all of these grievances.I have no issues with this business just the girl on the desk who seems to revel in these sorts of disagreements and just wants to aggravate people she doesnt like.

My family and I are from Florence but we were in Astoria for a camping trip this week when our alternator started to fail. It was almost 4 o clock, we were due to head home the next morning and I was so worried that we would be stranded hours away from home. We called PNW Automotive and they were able to fit us in right away! They diagnosed the issue and replaced it in about an hour. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and they were all patient with our six loud and cranky kids! The next day we drove our car about 180 miles home with no issue. They saved us from a very bad situation and we would recommend them to anyone in the area in a heartbeat.

When I found myself stranded 6 hours from home in the middle of a road trip with my 3 kids because another shop had failed to actually fix the issue and my engine was toast .I was in sheer panic. We called around and no one could even look at the car for 3 weeks and they were backed out months for work. I called PNW on a friday at 6, told them my predicament and was told to bring my car in asap and they d get it looked at for me. They had an answer an hour after I got it to them. Since then they have done so much for me even while my warranty company has fought them and myself on it the whole way. They have gone to bat for me in every sense of the word and been beyond patient with the situation and my 900 questions. Their employees are truly amazing, and I wish I lived closer because I d be going solely to them for any car needs. They are currently doing a full engine swap for me, and I will be making sure to bring them all cookies when I come grab my car as a thank you.10/10 recommend. Service: Engine repair

The staff were very friendly. They diagnosed and repaired my car in a timely manner. Price estimates were available before repairs occurred; they were honest about potential issues, and told me what issues were actually hazardous versus those that I could safely put off for now. I was happy with the price they charged. They also left a lovely "thank you for your business" card in my car. When I brought it in, they offered me a loaner car. I don't know whether that incurs additional costs because I declined as I had alternate transportation available, but it might be nice to know that they offer this service. They also had at least 2 very cute and friendly cats on the premise. I am very satisfied with my service.
