I was on a business trip from Idaho and my check engine light came on!! I got my jeep into them Monday at 5:00 and they had it fixed for me by 2 on Wednesday. Super responsive and got me back on the road so quickly. I m so grateful to these guys! They totally helped me out so far away from home!

Great experience. Our car broke down enroute to Seattle and they took great care of us. They went above and beyond transporting us to a hotel and really checked out the car well to be sure we arrived safely to our destination. They made recommendations of other items in need of attention on the car and we agreed to get it all done and we arrived without incident safely home to Seattle.

Original post deleted.Update.....22 June, 2021Since my original post I have had several problems with their work. Today's diagnostic conclusion and how they choose to deal with it will determine if I stay a loyal longtime customer.I hope they stand behind their work!Update 24 June 2021I'm sad to say I won't be going to Ashland Automotive anymore. The diagnostic conclusion they gave me was that my truck needed a new Intake Air Control valve. The part is less than $100 and takes 1.75 hours to replace. They quoted me $1,085!I picked up my truck, went home, opened the hood and debated replacing the valve myself. As I evaluated the job, I noticed a vacuum hose on top of the air intake that had a large obvious crack in it. I wrapped tape around it and installed a hose clamp on in it to stop the leak. When I started the truck, the check engine light was off and since then (24 hours and 50 miles) it runs perfectly.I can't say for sure that Ashland Automotive cracked this vacuum line when they charged me $700 to replace a valve cover gasket, or $1200 to replace an air sensor, but they would have had to disconnect and reconnect it both times.......Bottom line, I feel they are way overpriced and sloppy, despite their clean, organized, caring facade.They would have charged me $1,100 for a $400 job and that wouldn't have fixed the problem. Any experienced mechanic should have spotted that cracked vacuum line. Wish I could give them a good rating but honestly I can't!Service: Auto engine tuning

I have been getting my Subaru serviced at Ashland Automotive ever since I moved to Ashland. They have always been friendly, and always have fixed my car.The repairs have gotten a bit extreme in terms of cost. I understand that keeping a car on the road is expensive, however we are talking $500-$1,000 repair bills every other month.I brought my Subaru in most recently for a terrible screeching sound coming from the front drivers side. Ashland Automotive took a look and told me I had a seized caliper on the drivers side. The mechanic very strongly told me that the only way to fix this was to replace the pads and rotors on both sides along with a new caliper on the drivers side (and preferably on the passenger side as well). The mechanic also noted a "collapsed brake line" which needed immediate replacement.Cost? $810Well, I wanted to get a second opinion since I had gotten my brakes done relatively recently. I towed my car to DHM Automotive, and they put it up on the lift.As you can see from the picture, there was simply a lava rock stuck between the back plate and the rotor which was making the noise.No seized caliper, the pads were fine, the rotors were fine and there was no "collapsed brake line". Total cost of the fix? $0Of all the $3,000 in repairs I have gotten through them in the last 8 months, how many have been actually necessary?I will NEVER go back to Ashland Automotive again. It is one thing to be thorough and want to go the extra mile when repairing a used car. It is a whole other thing entirely to lie about what is actually broken.** just wanted to update that two years later and all of the brake parts they said were failing are still working just fine. I wouldn t send my worst enemy here.

Casey, Michael and the rest of the team were amazing. I had a cracked radiator while I was traveling from Seattle and on a Friday afternoon, they were able to source the parts and repair it on the same day. Excellent work and great communication. Highly recommended.

Great place for auto repair. Very knowledgeable mechanics and fantastic customer service. Repair on our Subaru done promptly and all work done as promised. Estimated costs were reasonable and no surprises when the job was done.

My experience with Ashland automotive has been mixed at best. They are very personable but I would rather have them be surly and thorough, rather than nice. It took three trips and drop offs of my truck a number of times for these guys to get it right. Enough is enough I am done throwing money at these guys. They charge very high prices for what I consider less than stellar results.

Awesome place. So nice and helpful and definitely went out of thier way to accommodate us. We are from Texas and had already gone to 3 different shops before and they are the ones who came to the rescue. Definitely go here for any and all automotive problems. So honest and reliable. Casey and the team at Ashland Automotive are simply fantastic. We were traveling through the area and suddenly had a failing transmission that needed to be evaluated, but we were on our way to California and didn't have time to babysit our Honda Odyssey. Ashland Automotive helped us right away with a prompt and thorough evaluation, follow-up communications on several occasions concerning next steps, and were even kind enough to allow us to keep our vehicle in their parking lot for an extended time. Casey is wonderful to work with, and it is clear that the entire business there is run in the best possible way. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely easy to work with. They haven't tried to sell me on un-needed services and I'm always greeted with a smile and treated with respect. The staff in the office are very polite and professional. But I can't recommend this business. I had a timing belt replaced and the front crankshaft seal was replaced as well. It failed after 300 miles. They did not honor the warranty because I sold the car. Unfortunately, I sold it to a friend who will have to eat the cost of the repair, not to mention the inconvenience of having it towed and dealing with all of it.After speaking with Matt, the service manager, it turned out there was a misunderstanding about the warranty. They honored it and replaced an additional seal at no charge. I'm very happy with the resolution.

My A/C compressor blew out. Zach immediately responded to my Yelp request for quote. Michael worked to fit my urgent repair into their busy schedule and got me back on the road in less than 24 hours. He clearly and skillfully explained every step of the repair with professionalism you find in the big nationwide shops. I am familiar under the hood of my car, and knew I had quite a few things that needed attention. I was considering just purchasing another used vehicle, but after taking it in to Casey and the guys at Ashland Automotive I went with the repairs. It was refreshing to get an estimate that had all of the things I knew needed work and nothing extra on it. Honestly, I have lived in the valley for decades and have been to more shops than I care to mention. Just got my car back yesterday and I'm thoroughly impressed with their work, driving like new again. These folks are the best. We were on a road trip and our car kept overheating. We had them take a look. They were kind and honest about what they thought was going on. They took our car in same day and made a point to help us find the parts needed as soon as possible get us back on the road. They had everything fixed by the next day. Great communication throughout. Fair and clear prices. And they were LGBTQIA+ welcoming. I wish I lived closer to this team so they could be our regular mechanics.

Avoid at all cost $$$ this place will lie to you and do their best to take advantage of you. They serviced my wife s vehicle one time, and over charged her to the maximum. Because she didn t know any better. We will not be bringing any cars back here. I urge you to do the same.

Ashland Automotive continues to impress. I took a vehicle there years ago and they took great care of me. I recently referred a friend to Zach, Matt and the rest of the team and they took great care of my friend. Trust is the biggest and best thing you can have in a mechanic, and this shop excels in this category. Great business, highly recommend.

Mike and the service techs were outstanding, going above and beyond to help me. My engine started misfiring on the mountain just before Ashland, taking my daughter to OSU. I Googled auto repair and called Ashland Automotive. Mike had me come over and had his lead tech, Matt, take a listen to the engine. He immediately identified the mis firing cylinder then told me the best and worst case scenarios. All of which pointed toward me living in a hotel room for 3 days waiting for the repair. Sitting at lunch trying to figure out uhaul rentals versus cheap hotel rooms, etc., Mike called and said the techs delayed their lunch and took a look at the engine. They identified the problem and said they would try and fix it by 5pm. Wow, this was a major repair, really!!! I waited in their extremely clean and comfortable lounge area praying for a miracle. At 5pm sharp they were test driving the car and gave me the thumbs up. They treated me like family, really caring that I got my daughter to school. I drove the car up to Corvallis and then back to San Francisco with no problem. These guys are heroes and are no doubt the best auto establishment I've ever experienced. My car broke down on the highway and this was one of the only shops I could get it towed to in Ashland. They charged me a $75 diagnostic fee just to tell me they though it could be the timing belt but they would need another $130 to determine if that was true. When they brought it into the shop the car started fine and they were able to drive it in which already tells me (someone with little mechanical experience) that the timing belt was why I stalled out on the highway. The staff was friendly but they were clearly trying to rip me off so I bit the $75 and got out of there. Overall this was a very unhelpful and disappointing experience at this shop.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Unfortunately I cannot recommend Ashland Automotive.I had to take my car in 4-5 times over a 2-month period for the same check-engine-light issue. I had difficulties contacting them on the phone, I would typically get transferred to someone s voicemail and would rarely get a call back. I ended up having to come in to the shop in person multiple times because I couldn t get a status update.However the biggest problem I have is that upon picking up the car (around the 3rd time or so), there was a new warning light on, this time for the airbags. This light was not on when I dropped the car off. Of course they claimed they weren t at fault. Awfully convenient that apparently the issue occurred between them parking it and me picking it up within a 5 minute period. The car literally had more warning lights on when I picked it up then when I dropped it off.They said drive it around and maybe the light would go off by itself. Well it didn t. When I came in again (because they still hadn t fixed the check-engine-light issue), they didn t even check what the problem was with the airbags, despite me asking. Just denial that they had anything to do with it. They said take it to the dealer and have them figure it out.

Terrific communication. Quality parts. Fast turnaround. Clean shop. All the things you want. You get what you pay for unlike some of those "WalMart" quality shops. When I asked one of the best mechanics in the valley where I should go in Ashland, he said not to go anywhere else but here. I was not disappointed. Well done Micheal and crew!

Brought my car in here a couple months ago because it wouldn't start. They told me that diesel fuel had some how gotten into my gas tank and that they needed to flush the entire system. This fixed my problem and it was a fair price. However, despite repeatedly stating I get free oil changes for life they kept trying to push this additional service on me. They also said "you have the worst air filter we've ever seen" and asked to replace that. The last thing they said was that my tires were completely bald and I needed all 4 new tires. Here I am a couple months later having just got my oil changed at the dealership and while my air filter was bad, a couple months later, it was not the worst ever. And after rotating my tires they told me I was just at the first wear mark and had plenty of life left on them. Seems like the age old problem of trying to get as much as you can from customers needlessly.

My car broke down and my car part was ordered, my car was fixed, and it was back on the road within 4 hours. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Definitely would recommend.

We had damage to our vehicle while in Ashland from out of state. Oil pan was punctured by a piece of metal that flew out of a truck bed. Matt went above and beyond to get the necessary parts ordered and to get the work done quickly so we could get back on the road. He even stayed well past closing time on a Friday night to help us out. Thank you for your excellent service!Service: Engine repair

I have been taking my car to Ashland Automotive for years. I've always found them to be polite, honest and up-front about what my car needs or doesn't need. In one case, my brakes were smoking when I'd come down 66 from the Greensprings. They tried to address the issue, but it happened again. Again, they addressed what they thought was wrong. When the brakes smoked a third time, Ashland Automotive replaced my entire braking system at absolutely NO COST!! They told me that by starting from the ground up, we could be sure it wouldn't happen again. And they were right. I was shocked that they went to the lengths to do such an extensive repair for free. They own up to their mistakes, and they do what they can to make it right.Service: Brake service & repair

Full brake work after an incredibly scary Ashland Pass descent. They squeezed us in before they closed and got us back on the road in the morning. Ashland automotive is the only place my husband and I will bring our car for maintenance and regular car care. We have had numerous positive experiences with the team at Ashland Auto.
