Unfortunately the starter on our 92 7.3 idi was beyond repair but this place knows their stuff. Have your unit repaired here because the end result will be far superior to the crummy parts store rebuilds

Thank you Mike for your willingness and professionalism. Sure, you had a pile of work on the counter, and understandably you couldn t do it while I waited. When you did test it, you were right, there was nothing wrong with my outboard s old starter. It was the electrical problem at the battery terminal ends just as you diagnosed. I re-terminated those three cables and we have been back on the water this week.

Had to get the bushings replaced on my starter and shorty was the place for me.. next day pick up cost $55 and I was impressed. Any electrical needs for ur car please take to Shorty's he can assist!!! Thank u Shorty,,

Honest with good pricing. Nothing was wrong with our alternator and he was honest about that snd even gave us a few ideas of what the issue could be.

Took my 77 year old hard to find starter here to get rebuild. He called 24 hours later saying it was ready and charged me a fraction of what I expected and was willing to pay. Was skeptical at first since it was so quick and cheap. Just finished installing it and this is the best my starting system has ever work period. Won t hesistate to take something else to Shorty s if the need arises. Couldn t be happier.

I have a number of cars. 6V 12V. Shorty does them all well and quickly. He is honest and underpriced. A number of times he didn t want to charge me for a simple repair. Can t go wrong.

I was told by a mechanic my alternator was bad. I dropped it off at Shorty's between 2:30 and 3:00 PM, on Thursday, to be rebuilt. At 8:10 Friday morning I received a call from Shorty's. I was told the alternator was good, it just had dry bearings. I asked him to replace the bearings while he had it and anything else even questionable. It was finished in less than 2 hours. Honest, quick turn-around, less than 1/2 the cost of an alternator from the parts store. I have no doubt the alternator will work flawlessly. What more could you ask for?

Brought an alternator in to be rebuilt ,reman was $145. Shorty said he would rebuild mine for $70.Wow, half price .but wait ..it gets better.Shorty tested the alternator and called us said it was not bad. Honesty,,,Shorty has tons of it

Shorty's has been my go to place to get starters and alternators rebuilt for as long as I can remember. I have dropped off some pretty weird and random stuff before and most times they call and say its ready later that day or the next. Its a small shop but the guys know all the in and outs from years of experience. EXPERIENCE earns them Five stars!!!

Other places wanted a hundred dollars just to open the casing if my alternator to diagnose the problem...my alternator was rebuilt here for $70. If you need work done on your alternator, I highly recommend bringing it here.

Ii like the integrity. I had a starter dropped of for a relative that told me it was inoperable. Shorty called and said nothing was wrong with the starter. Shorty could have easily charged me for unnecessary work and I wouldn't have been the wiser.

Parts weren't available for our repair soon enough so they had a new one ordered and ready for us within 2 days. Been using for years. Recommend for sure
