I recently took my 2009 Nissan Rogue here. I would recommend Alternative Automotive to anyone who needs their car worked on, but especially to women. Mike is fair and makes sure you understand what needs done with your car and why. They will tell you what needs done right away and what can wait in case you are working with a budget. They don't charge unreasonable amounts for parts or their time. I would feel absolutely comfortable sending my daughter here to have her car worked on. As a woman, I felt heard, talked to (instead of at), and comfortable. If you need car repair, this is the place to have it done.

I highly recommend Alternative Automotive. Mike and his crew were able to successfully repair my son's Ford F150 differential issue. I found them to be very honest, knowledgeable and very determined to make a full repair, all while keeping costs as low as possible. I definitely will be recommending Alternative Automotive to all my family and friends.

My wife and I are lucky we found Alternative Automotive after we had a poor experience with the Hyundai dealership here in Tulsa. Mike and Karen were able to verify our issue with a full diagnostic report (including pictures) and even fix it for a fraction of the dealership cost. Honest people that care about helping their customers. Would 100% recommend to family and friends.

This should be your first phone call! I have used Alternative for several years and have always been pleased with their service, skill and especially their honesty. They have replaced a battery and brakes for me but have also performed a yearly check to make sure I am driving a safe vehicle. Mike is a skilled diagnostician and brings years of experience to every car repair. I will return because I trust them and appreciate their service and welcoming environment.

** I HAVE A HARD TIME TRUSTING PEOPLE ** They put me at ease, plus I can see that the work done is at a higher level.Always friendly and informative. Explained the root of the problem from the diagnostics and then gave a ballpark cost (usually within +/- $50) and other area's that needs attention soon or can wait but will need to be addressed. Bonus they call you within a couple of days after dropping off your vehicle with their findings. Then after the vehicle is fix they call you a few months later to make sure you are satisfied. UNLIKE THE DEALERSHIPS NIGHTMARE SERVICE!!!!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Auto exhaust system replacement, Repair hardware, Oil change

The back latch actuator on our 2018 KIA Sedona went bad. Thankfully Mike and his crew over at Alternative Automotive got me in and out within a couple of hours. The price was fair, the service was excellent, and I would definitely recommend them.Service: Repair hardwareService: Repair hardware

Mike and his team were able to diagnose and repair a very complex transfer case leak. In addition to successfully isolating and repairing the leak, they changed my oil and replaced all of my front and rear brakes. Mike was honest and forthcoming about all the expenses and required services. I appreciate the integrity he showed and would highly recommend his shop.Services: Auto brake repair, Oil change

Make it known on your website that you don't work on vehicles older than 2000.Got a vibe that Mike was not interested in my business either way. I was just wanting to get some quotes and weigh my options. At least try to be polite and don't start eating your lunch in the middle of talking with a customer.2 stars because the gentleman I spoke with when I first showed up was polite to me.

I've been using Alternative Automotive for ten years. For routine maintenance, trouble shooting and repair. My 2006 Ford F-150 is looking at 225,000mi and it runs like new. Karen and Mike have become loyal trustworthy friends. The work has always been priced fairly and completed timely. Mike treats your vehicle like he's working on his own car or truck. Always updating his equipment to keep up with the tech, using the current software, and always telling you the truth about were your money is best spent. I have an older vehicle which was giving me some problems. The people at alternative automotive helped walk me through prices ,parts ,and alternative decisions to make sure I made the right choice on fixing or getting rid of the vehicle. I really felt like they were on my team, and not worried about making a buck on my behalf. I was so impressed with how quickly they got me in and how quickly they got my car fixed and back to me. I was updated and services were explained to me before each issue was fixed. I felt the charges were very reasonable as well. Everyone there that I dealt with were very friendly and courteous. Electrical problem with head light's, Brake repair brake oil was leaking had no brake's at all, Change a tire that we bought from a tire shop 1 of them was the wrong size & tire, Mike got the correct tire for us! These guy's are absolutely a blessing Very fast, Professional, Pleasant & Totally Awesome people their like family to us! My daughters car engine light came.on while on her way to Tulsa. We had thought it was the alternator but wasn t sure. I wasn t there with her so it was hard to find someone to trust to fix the car so she could get back home safely. I called and was happy to have someone care enough to make sure my daughters car was fix correctly and more. By taking the time to examining the car before just fixing what we thought it was they saved us more than a lot of money. They allowed us to pay over the phone and kept in contact with us .They were honest and upfront about everything. They left us feeling less stressed and very comfortable even though we don t them and have never done business with them. This is the probably without a doubt the best service I have received from a car mechanic. I don t live in Tulsa but I will give their number to everyone I know who does and who lives near them. The absolute BEST hands down! They are truly God sent! The customer service was superb. They diagnosed and repaired everything in the same day! Even found and repaired something that the Nissan dealership missed. What was even more amazing was I didn t have to break the bank! I ended up having to bring my two year old with me who is full of energy, lol. Mr. Mike & Mrs. Karen were so good with him. My son hasn t stopped talking about Mr. Mike. I was absolutely blown away by the service. If you re looking for a great mechanic with great customer service to match, look no further. Alternative automotive is the way to go!

I really appreciate for Mike and Karen taking the time to take in my little old 05 Nissan Sentra in and getting it the proper help it needed still needs a little more work done so I will be back again. Called for an estimate for an alternator and battery replacement (per AAA) for my car that isn't currently running and was told that they don't give out prices over the phone, so I would have to have my car towed there for their technicians to look at it and verify that it is the alternator and battery before they would tell me a price, and the soonest they could look at it would be next week. Completely unacceptable. You could have just told me how much you would charge to do the repairs I asked for and if I took my car there and was somehow wrong about it, you could have told me what it actually needed and we could have gone from there. Not being upfront about your pricing is shady and taking an entire week just to look at my car when it's not running at all means you're too busy for my business. No thanks.

I found this place on the internet. Their reviews were so good, I decided to give them a try! Many of the reviews referenced how awesome the owner, Mike was. Well our experience was the same if not better!! Mike was so friendly and extremely knowledgeable! We even had some challenges for Mike but ultimately he worked hard and persevered. He offered a few different options and discussed the pricing for each one. We were very happy with the results! We have now found our GO TO Auto service company! Amazing knowledge of all areas of cars. I have had multiple things done to my car here and the price was more than fair. The quality of work and attention to detail is great. The customer service was excellent and they took time to explain and show me exactly what was wrong and how they were fixing the issue. I highly recommend anyone who needs work done to a vehicle to go to Alternative Automotive!

Truly can't say enough great things about this place. I've been in with both mine and my husband's vehicles over the last month or two and service each and every time has been quick, affordable, and transparent. Not having a great understanding of mechanics leaves me feeling vulnerable when faced with needed repairs, as I have definitely been swindled in the past. Mike and Karen are honest, caring, and thorough. This is the only place I will take my vehicles for service and maintenance from now on.

I had a bad experience with a dealership s service dept. So I took my car to Mike and is guys. They quickly found the real issue and fixed it. They where respectful, honest and efficient. I knew when I read the reviews that I had found my new mechanic. Mike and Karen are the nicest people and really care about helping you. Mike explains everything and tells you what to fix immediately and what can wait. If you want an honest mechanic go to Alternative Automotive. What a blessing to find God fearing honest people. I came in twice to have some issues on my truck worked on. The owner personally took my truck and made sure there was a thorough check up on my truck done. The first time it had issues, him and his crew stayed over, after closing, to put a new computer in it and program it and get me back on the road. The second time, it was in their shop for a couple days and they kept me up to date on the progress, it was ready in a short time. I am really happy with the work performed and will be returning if anything else happens to my truck or any other vehicle I am driving.

I had several things done here recently and they were awesome. Mike gives you information as they go, so nothing was a surprise. They both (Mike and Karen) are extremely kind and honest people. I ve had bad experiences in the past (other places taking advantage of me) so I m grateful to have found Alternative Automotive. Very professional and friendly.Owner Mike gave me a walk-thru of the shopspace, and the facilities looked clean and organized. Mike got me in quickly for a rattling noise, took time to explain the process to diagnose before I left my car for the day, called me by 2pm to let me know the car was fixed and took time again on the back end to explain the problem and the fix. All for an incredibly reasonable expense. This shop was efficient, courteous and highly knowledgeable. Everything you need when your sole source for getting around is broken. I strongly recommend them!
