I recently had the pleasure of utilizing Mikes Machine Shop on SW 59th St. & I35 in Oklahoma City to work on my 454 big block. Despite not inquiring about the timeline for completion, I was aware that Mike was facing significant backlog and working tirelessly seven days a week. His kindness and expertise were evident throughout the process, as he provided me with all the necessary parts to rebuild my motor. In a truly remarkable display of dedication, Mr & Mrs Mowry even worked on Easter Sunday to ensure my block was completed and returned to me promptly. He is undoubtedly a superb machinist and I wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone in need. Thank you Mike for a job well done. Looking forward to working with you again in the future.

Normally don t write reviews but The guys at Mikes get it done! Took my 350 block in for a .30 over rebuild, and had new pistons pressed onto my rods and these guys knocked it out of the park in less than 2 weeks and Mike made sure to keep in contact with me throughout the process.I ll definitely be back if I need motor or head work.Services: Engine repair, Motor building

Mike is very good at rebuilding motors and also reasonable on pricing. I was very pleased with the way my motor turned out. My motor had 242k miles and Mike made her look brand new again! Thanks for the awesome service I will definitely have this shop do all my engine repairs.Service: Motor buildingService: Motor building

I dropped off my intake manifold and timing cover to be hot tanked and then have the manifold port matched to some upgraded cylinder heads back in December. Mike was great at specifying what I needed including specing new gaskets, however since dropping off the parts I have heard nothing from him. None of my phone calls complete and when visiting in person the entrance was chained off. At this time I don't need the parts and I did not pay for any service but at minimum I would like some communication after almost 6 months. I would proceed with caution unless the work you need is non essential for your engine.Service: Motor building

This guys is a liar and a scam artist! You should definitely take your engine anywhere but here! I paid for my engine to be rebuilt with new parts for oil pan to intake! He put a used cam in it. He didn't change the pistons and rings. He reused the oil pump and timing set. So basically I paid $2000 for cam bearings a used cam and my heads cleaned up! The front seal has leaked every since we installed the engine and now with less then 3000 miles on it it has blown the rear main seal!

Well its been about 6-8 weeks since my mechanic dropped off my block to be redone. My mechanic has made several calls, no answer and no return calls. So i personally called and Mike answered and as i inquired about the status of the block, he asked which engine. I told him, he stated oh i didn t recognize the number and that he was fixing to call my mechanic with a parts list to get an ok, that was 4 weeks ago my mechanic hasnt received any calls. Seeings how Mike didnt recognize my number and is ignoring my mechanics calls, the only logical conclusion is that hes screening his calls. After relaying our conversation to my mechanic, it was stated at the time the block was dropped off that all those questions were answered at that time. So this the second machine shop with this poor customer service and timely manner over the same engine. Marks was the first and after 6 months only the heads were done but not the block. So i heard good things about Mikes. So i recommended the block be taken to Mikes but now you get screened phone calls, no call backs, and just over all run around. If it was a part shortage or whatever, id understand but communication is key. If i dont hear back within the next two weeks Im just going to buy a used engine and be done with it and no i wont pay a dime for to Mikes. He can keep it for all i care. Going 8 on months!! 6 at Marks and two at Mikes. Its pretty ridiculous! Thinking Moores Machine shop is the best choice compared to anything else ive found. Theyre recommended by three other mechanics ive spoken to about this issue. I also messaged Mikes thru facebook and whomever runs that page even stated they cant even get ahold of him most times and once they do theyll provide me with an update, thats been a month ago. So i dont know who these folks are with all these in and out reviews but mine nor many others are one of them. I believe i have made yet another mistake in choices of machining. Looks like ill either picking up the block to take it elsewhere or just slap a used one in it and it can become Mikes problem.Service: Motor building

He took forever on my ZZ4 crate motor. Then he stole my cam and lifters out of it and charge me 1500 bucks. Don t let this guy take forever on your mother that means he stealing something out of it like he stole from my Z Z4 crate motor he stole the cam and lifters out of it.Service: Motor buildingService: Motor building

Workmanship and quality were excellent. 1700 miles on my valve job running like a top. Quoted a good price. Had my head for about 3 weeks. I m sure I wasn t at the top of the list. Would let them do more work without a doubt. If your needing it done in a few days may want to look elsewhere. If you can wait a little bit then this is where to go. Thanks again for the head work guys!

My motor was dropped off over a month ago by my mechanic. I've been standing in his shop on speaker phone when Mike's said my motor was going to be ready almost 2 weeks ago. Now he just doesn't answer calls! Very slow, very unprofessional. I'll never take a motor here again. If I ever get it back, I'll be highly skeptical of his work! Steer clear of this place.

Mike conducted a head deck and valve job and got my project car's engine back up and running after an overheat. Great price, quick turnaround, and took tons of time out of his day on multiple occasions to teach a newbie car guy tons of stuff about how engines work. I've moved out of state but point all the car guys I know who get stationed at Sill to Mike.Services: Engine repair, Motor building

Always a pleasure dealing with Mike and his team. I have had multiple engines built by him as well as numerous parts machined. Always done well and at a fair price. I will continue to use Mike for all my machine shop needs.

My father and I both were loyal customers of Mike's since he opened a business. Lost count of the number of motors that he built for us and for our customers never had a problem you won't find anyone with more experience and knowledge in the business.!Services: Engine repair, Motor buildingServices: Engine repair, Motor building

Top quality work from professionals with over 40 years of experience. I had a 302 for my classic mustang rebuilt, not only was the price very reasonable, he offered his advice and assistance which was very helpful seeing how it was my first time rebuilding a engine. Have and will continue to reccomend to anyone!

The resurfaced and did valve job on set of 350 heads. They pointed out defects in one head, and explained my options. Good honest work. Maybe not cheap but good work ain't cheap. Will recommend.

Very knowledgeable in all aspects of engine building. Including Mopar. On the ball prices, which IMOH Can't be beat when your machinist isn't cutting corners*. Honesty is something not easily found when it comes to machine shops unfortunately. Mike is most certainly an exception. However* as with all things, patience is a virtue, and when things are done right, it can take a bit longer.

I had a good experience getting my subaru heads done w a valve job. ($150) I would probably go back because Mike is very nice and knowledgeable BUT if you are in any hurry go somewhere else. My job took almost 2 weeks. Hard to find (walk behind pawn store, no car access)

Took a block in 3 months ago for a simple hone and crank polish. I call and get no answer or the run around. Now I have a vehicle sitting in my garage waiting for me to find a motor. Dont trust at all. Judging by the looks of the place, this isn t the first motor this guy has stolen from someone

Not excited about the time it took or the quality of te build. My chevy 350 has half the power it did going in. I now have a spun bearing and can't get ahold of the owner. The shop... The Jungle did the install and blames everything on Mike's. Who knows but neither will get my buisness again nor any of my friends.

Would not go to anyone else. Stop by his shop he will always treat you like family but on the race track he's there to win lol. But he has a great heart and still will help you there to. Recommended my friend to take a motor there and it was there for 11 months. Now the motor is put back together and the bolts were not even tightened. Not acceptable time frame or workmanship.

Great prices, work was spot on. Too a bit longer than expected but they are very busy. Very difficult to find though, behind a pawn shop with no road access.
