Very professional, and very quick to help with any knowledge or Problems you may have, I Dealt with Larry , Very good guy, we ran into some snags, but he was quick and courteous was all my needs and questions, And willing to go out of his way to make sure I got taken care of ,great customer service, I highly recommend using this shop, I will use them again for any future issues I may have with my vehicles.

I would do zero stars if possible! I originally got my transmission rebuilt from them last April. I asked them to do everything they could to make it last. They sold me on a few add ons shift kit etc. It lasted seventy thousand miles before the torque converter failed. I understand that things happen so I let them go ahead and rebuild it again. Upon picking it up I found the battery dead when I notified them to fix it the guy came out with a piece of wire and a hammer I told him to just leave it alone and I d take care of it. It really worry s me that if that was the solution for my battery what did my truck go through. I will never come back. I also was sold a bigger inter cooler that was never installed.

This place will somewhat waste your time when they give you an estimate it is free but they will tell you we need to do further inspection of your transmission they will pull the pan notice the problem and then tell you what needs to be fixed but if you can't pay the price or don't want them to do it they will charge you $1,500 in order to put it back together and get your car back they are not honest they might do a good job at rebuilding and installing transmissions but they have a system to where as long as your car comes in there they get money they will tell you the estimate is free all day long but it is a bit of a scam

2004 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 L 6Cyl. My Jeep threw a P0605 code and would not shift into a lower gear while driving at 60-70 MPH. RPM's stayed at about 4500 all the time. I replaced the PCM (Powertrain Control Module)myself and it did not fix it. The problem ended up being the TCM (Trans Control Module). Once I got the part AAMCO installed it, gave me a synthetic oil change and replaced my serpentine belt along with Idler and tensioner pulleys. My Jeep is running like a top again. I dealt with Chris and Richard both and they were very pleasant to deal with. Kept me informed and got the job done as quickly as possible once all the parts arrived. I did not meet the technician, but hats off to him for a job well done. Prices were pretty fair and work was completed as expected. I would recommend and use them again for sure. These guys are amazing! They got my truck diagnosed, taken apart and new transmission put in and me back on the road in 5days. We agreed on a reasonable price and when I picked it up it cost me less than expected! That s a win in my book. Speak with Ross he took great care of me, thank you Ross and thank your whole crew.

FOR THE NORMAN SHOP. They did an amazing job with my truck. I took my 2006 GMC Sierra in for a transmission issue and they figured it out and fixed it. They fixed my oil sensor. They fixed my brake system. They went above and beyond. They replaced so much more and did an amazing job. Fast and honest work. Very friendly. Kept me in the loop. Wasn t as expensive as I thought. The guy at the front counter was really helpful, he was upfront about everything about possible options. They got my car fixed up in less than a day. Thought my transmission had gone out but it was just locked up from my cv axel snapping.

If your looking for a honest shop Don't come here these guys will say anything to get in your wallet. These guys a true crooks. The also screwed my veteran friend out of thousands. The one in midwest city is the same.

I have never received better service than what I have with Larry at AAMCO. The entire time I was updated on what was going on with my Honda Accord, all of my questions were answered, the total cost was less than expected the friendliness was outstanding and they got the job done very quickly! Update: truck spewed after getting the truck back 3 weeks ago, it sprung a big leak in red transmission fluid yesterday. Began revving loudly. Had to be towed to a more competent automotive shop. Aamco is now stating they put in a rebuild transmission and we should expect this. We paid 5k for 5r110W 5 speed new with a 50k warranty.Had a transmission replaced here brand new. It broke down before we got it home. Took it back, got another. Broke down two days later. We were told it was wiring. We were told a specialist had to be involved. New Gm hired. We waiting. Another Gm hired. We waited. I finally call. They say they can have a wiring harness there in a few days.Our truck has been in their parking lot for 2/3 of the past 12 months. This project began in spring of 2021. We cannot reach anyone in the office.Service: Transmission

Was referred by family- I took my Honda in with quite a list of needs. And when something was missed, the new manager Larry went out of his way to ensure it was corrected immediately. Top notch customer service and it drives like new. My husband already took his car in for a tune up - very happy with their work, pricing and we definitely recommend using them.

I walked in during the middle of the working day, nobody was present in the front.I called the business phone, never heard it ring, got voicemail.I had to stand at the door and open/close/open/close the door to make the chime ding. For 2 minutes straight.*DING* door closes *DING* door closes *DING* door closes *DING* door closes *DING* door closes--and that is only about 10 seconds worth.When the guy came from the back he was attentive.

Got three price quotes from 3 different people there plus additional add on. A little trashy looking. They kinda made think this is not I want my car anywhere near there.

Chris and his Team were down to earth but very professional. We originally thought it was another issue but they correctly diagnosed the true issues; engine mounts and wheel hubs. His Team gave us the best service and the lowest quote by far. We thank them for their honesty, great work and timeliness! This is a great business. Chris helped us out tremendously! We took our car in to be worked on and them our hail storm hit. He let us know what needed to be done and waited for us to complete the claim while there. Very nice and professional guy! When we need more car assistance this is where we will be going!

We faced so many obstacles getting our car repaired but none were the fault of AAMCO and had to do with our warranty company. Chris and his staff were professional and helpful and worked with us until our car was fixed properly and went to bat for us the whole way. Would definitely recommend them as honest and loyal for the customer!!

Been taking my car here for a while but last few times had been disappointed by Chris. Larry has stepped up to the plate and had corrected the problem that I was left with after Chris said my car was ready. I can not say enough about the professionalism in how he treats the customer and is a man of his word. I am confident that the shop will be even better with his supervision of shop and customer service. I brought my car in because I was having overheating issues. When I was trying to explain what was happening, the manager cut me off very rudely to tell me that they will find the problem. A few days later they say my car is ready. I pick it up and drive about 2 miles and while I'm at a red light my car starts to overheat again, and I end up stranded on the side of the road. I take the car back to them the next day and the manager lies to me saying he watched the technician run the car for an hour with no issues but they will check it out. It turns out there was a leak in the coolant system, which tells me they didn't run the car for an hour like he said. They said they would have the part on a Friday. The following Monday after no word from them, I call to find out when my car will be done. They ordered the wrong part so I have to wait another 2 days. $1000 and a week and a half later I finally get my car back, and it's still overheating. I am very unhappy with their quality of work, professionalism, and customer service. The work is under warranty but after being stranded on the side of the road twice, I do not feel confident bringing my car back there.They also said my AC fan clutch is going out, but my car doesn't have a fan clutch. It has electric motors. Just an awful experience.

I have used the aamco location in Norman several times over the past two years, first for a transmission overhaul and most recently for a break issue. The customer service is top notch and the quality and professionalism are as well... I will be using these guys for all my automotive needs in the future as I do not trust my vehicle to just anyone.Service: Brakes

I called AAMCO and spoke with Eric to see if i could get my car checked out thought i needed a transmission flush. Got an appointment within 30 minutes after calling. Eric was so friendly. Took car in and was told in detail was going to be done. Eric was so friendly and honest. I knew i came to the right place. Found out i needed motor mounts and a few other things. I am so happy i used AAMCO and i highly recommend anyone having problems with their vechile to come here. They all rock in my book!!! Honest, kind, professional. Thank you for everything you did for me. I will only have y'all fixing my car!!

Why this place only has 4 stars I DON'T KNOW! I had a fantastic experience, Melvin and his crew were very helpful and informative as well as the BEST price in town! They replaced my transmission in less than the quoted amount of time and also performed extra work I requested. My truck drives as good as New and has given me ZERO problems. Now with that being said.. I have also taken good care of my vehicle and not ABUSED it such as I've read on here. I have not taken my truck to the river and abused it so I suspect my transmission should last a long time! The work done was satisfactory and done professionally. I'm very pleased with their service and would definitely go back if need be.

I don t even know where to start. Took my Escape into Norman s AAMCO to have them look at it - I knew something was wrong with the transmission I just didn t want to face facts. After they looked at it and I got the bad news I literally had a meltdown in the shop. It was right before Christmas and I had several other disasters happening in my life. The front desk was so compassionate and understanding with me!!!! He is awesome! They got my vehicle done in record time and it drives beautiful. He took time to explain everything to me what they did, what to watch for and expect and they did a 10 day check to make sure everything was ok. Coming to Norman from a much smaller town where I knew everyone and had a mechanic I could go to, depend on - I have found that here in Norman now and it is a good feeling to know I have a place I can count on. Everyone here is absolutely awesome and I will absolutely recommend them to anyone. Thanks guys!!!!!

Just had my 3rd service work done to my SUV at this location and again was treated fairly and professionally. Eric and his crew have done a great job and certainly earned a shot at more of my business. The waiting area could do with some updating (better lighting, magazines, charging station, etc.) but it was definitely clean. Overall, thanks and great job!

Chris and the entire team are very professional and courteous. They analyzed my transmission problem and came back with the more accurate diagnosis it was front wheel bearings and worn out motor mounts. They were the lowest quote I received to replace all 6 parts and did the work in less than a day. Honest and ethical repair shops are a refreshing thing to find.Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair

I took my Ford Focus in last week because it had transmission issues. The guy (maybe Larry) didn t say anything but We ll take a look at it and call you back. The next day-nothing. So I called back and asked. The response I got was I m waiting on a call back from our vendor to get the best price. The best price for what, I asked. A new transmission, was the answer. So you checked it out and it s that bad? I was assured that I needed a new transmission because they didn t do rebuilds for that particular kind. Guy said he d call me back-the next day nothing...again. So I called back and he told me the best price was $4K, and that was without labor. i told him I d just come pick it up. I don't believe that they really even checked it out. Took it to a dealership and they replaced the command module-runs great. SAME transmission. Won t be visiting AAMCO again.

A few weeks ago I took my Ford edge into AAMCO with some transmission issues. Jerry had his tech.s do a complete diagnostic. After a few hours, I got a call from Jerry with a full explanation of the problem, the parts needed, and the cost. I gave the go ahead and in a few days I had a like new rebuilt transmission. Complete with a good warranty. There were some other problems that I took issue with. Jerry resolved those problems quickly and professionally. Thanks to Jerry's excellent customer service and the technicians excellent work, I'm back on the road and a satisfied customer. AAMCO in Norman will continue to get my business.Thanks, Dave Wildes

I'm very satisfied with my experiences here. I've brought multiple cars here over the last few years, and these guys have always done great work. This shop can do just about anything you need done to your car. And, obviously, they specialize in transmission work. Some shops won't do transmissions at all. The last time I brought a car in here, we were thinking it had a bad transmission. Who knows how much that would've cost. But they looked at it and determined that it was another problem, and it only ended up costing a few hundred dollars. Much cheaper than a new transmission. I definitely recommend taking your car here for anything it needs.

I have had an absolutely horrible experience with this shop. I took my truck in because the engine light was on and the truck was running poorly. They said the cam shaft had a flat lobe. There was a slow down working with may warranty company but after six weeks I finally got my truck back. I picked it up on a Thursday and and by Saturday there was a lot of noise coming from the engine. I was advised to get an oil change at 500 miles and they would cover it. When I set the appointment for a week later I told the service writer about the noise. He said they would check it out. When I picked the truck up I was told, "The cam shaft it out performing the valve train". I had a trip planned to go out of town. During the trip the truck started running poorly. Because I didn't want to be without my truck for six weeks again I took it to a different shop. In their diag the found a bent pushrod, a broken supply hose, a broken ignition coil clip, a broken bolt in the exhaust valve train, a rocker completely off an intake valve (which probably led to a bent valve), and a missing bolt from on ignition coil. Again, I was really hoping this was a new set of problems for my truck. Had this all been installed correctly my truck would never have gone to the other shop. Now they want me to pay for the other shop diagnosing their mistakes and pay to have it towed to their shop for proper repairs. I spoke to the "GM" and by this time I was quite angry. I told him what I expected and he said they would not cover it.I had to go somewhere else to properly diagnose their mistakes and now they feel I should cover it. Very poorly ran operation and very poor service.

I recently had a trip I had to take and wanted to make sure my car was in top shape for it. The guys at aamco did a complete free check of my car for me. They were honest, professionals and had me in and out quickly. The store was clean and Eric was AMAZING. I highly recommend anyone needing anything done on their car go see Eric and his great group of mechanics. Thank you guys.
