Jim was quick to come rescue me across the street at the gas station in the middle of the day. With one phone call to someone I ve never met before he closed down his shop, walked over, got my car to start enough to drive to his shop, then he proceeded to repair my car for the next two hours so I wasn t without a vehicle. He even left at one point to get a brand new part from my dealership. His honesty, and dedication was truly remarkable. The most trustworthy honest man in this area, so thankful to have come across Jim!

Jim is a good guy. Honest and friendly. I m in Michigan but my son goes to YSU. His car broke down and we had no way of getting it back to our mechanic. Glad we found Jim and his shop. He spent more time than he should have helping us out. Unfortunately it was a major repair, but Jim gave us sound advice, and was extremely helpful. Would highly recommend him and his shop!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

First off let me say that Mr.Jim was very thorough,polite and all out professional. He was able to fix my gas pedal issue that i had been dealing with for weeks before i came to his shop, an guess what??? I haven't had any issues with my vehicle since he fixed it on 7/7/2022. Before any work was performed Mr.Jim did a computer diagnostic test and also a ride test before he called and gave me every possible problem with Oracle(My Car) and what ways I could get her fixed. Mr.Jim is VERY knowledgeable of cars and he holds no information back from his customers an i respect that especially from a mechanic. I am very satisfied with the work provided by Mr.Jim an will tell any an everyone to go to him if you want ASE Certified Mechanical services done at a good professional price.Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection

I was extremely satisfied with Jim's work, I needed the starter replaced on my Buick and in less than an hour after being towed there it was completed and ready to go! He diagnosed the issue quickly and got to work on it while I was with him, and we talked throughout the service. He charged a great price as well.Jim is probably the friendliest mechanic you will meet, and he is full of interesting stories as well! I totally recommend him and will be visiting him again when another issue comes up.

Jim repaired my vehicle quickly and for a good price. He understood the problem quickly and got us back on the road after we had car trouble while towing a trailer in a cross-country move. He was friendly, communicative, and did the job well. We finished the drive over 2 more days, and I've had no further problems several weeks after arriving at my destination. I highly recommend Automotive Repair & Diagnostics in Youngstown.

My car got in fast and was out of the shop in a very short amount of time. I was having issues with my starter and he was able to diagnose the issue quickly. I was also charged a very fair price for his services. Jim is honest, reliable, and knows what he is doing. I would recommend his services to others.

I'm very happy with Jim's work! He is honest, fair, dependable, fast and open-minded. I say open-minded because my van had a problem that the fix made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Jim was willing to give it a try and it worked. He has now done work on both my car and my van and I recommend him to friends and coworkers whenever they need a mechanic.

Our minivan broke down on a Sun afternoon 5 hours away from home. Luckily, we reached Jim's shop in Youngstown and had our car towed there. Come Mon morning, he got the parts in and by noon we were back on the road! Super satisfied with communication, quality and value. This place brings back that childhood nostalgia from hanging out while my dad worked in his old shop. Jim is candid about what needs fixing and won't try to upsell or bs you. He's very personable, explains what's up in detail, and he has gone out of his way to help me multiple times. The best part: the work is done right and the price doesn't hurt the ol' wallet much either.

Jim is the best. He's very knowledgeable and won't do work that isn't needed. He understands that people can't afford to spend a fortune on having their vehicles fixed. I will absolutely be using him again. If I could give him 10 stars I would.

Jim went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with the work he performed. He even had me bring the car back a week after it was workedon and gave up his only day off to ensure car was working up to par. I would recommend anyone looking for an honest mechanic to go there

I never write any reviews but this is different. It was the best experience I had. He knows what he is talking about. On top of that, he SHOWS you what is wrong with your car. He pulls up the car and shows the damage. If you were always skeptical about the repairs that you were getting, I suggest you go to him. He will ascertain and make it perfectly clear even if you don't know anything about cars. I live 50 minuetes away from here but I will still drive all the way out here to get the repairs from now on. It's almost tragic that I have to move to another state soon.

I m June the rack n pinion started leaking in my trailblazer. The owner was very thorough in explaining everything from the amount of time he would need the vehicle, to the cost, and even showed me on the computer where the part was located as well as why it took so long to replace. In addition to the rack n pinion, he replace front/rear brakes, and changed the oil. While he had my vehicle he checked all my lights were working appropriately, and any marker lights that were out were replaced. The owner even finished the total job a little earlier then originally expected. Since having everything repaired over two months ago there have been no further issues- no further leaks, and this week even returned to Automotive Diagnostic & Repair for my follow-up oil change. Once again the owner was very thorough, even repairing a wire that came loose which he notice when removing the oil filter. Definitely recommend Automotive Diagnostic & Repair- very honest and thorough as well as cost is very comparable! Too many times i ve Felt like shops see a women walking in and they think she doesn t know what the vehicle needs. Growing up with a mechanic for a father, and now having to handle all the vehicle issue he used for me on my own- never once did ifeel like the owner lied to me or was trying to have me spend more money then was needed.

My Toyota carolla broke down 2 hours away from home. As a 21 year old female, there is always the fear of being intimidated being over charged. The owner, Jim, was so nice and explained everything clearly. He got my car finished very quickly (even came in on his day off that week) at all at a great price.if I lived closer he would be my go to mechanic!

The owner of this shop is quite honest and will not scrutinize you, which sadly most mechanics do not apply in their work ethics because is allows them to make a quick buck. Getting my car repaired here was quite pleasant and fair. The price was very fair and reasonable. I would recommend my friends to this business if they asked for a recommendation.

I own a 1999 Silverado and it had a lot of problems. Jim took the time to diagonis it, talk to me about it and he fixed it and did a amazing job. If you need a great machanic in Youngstown he's your top number one man. Very reliable, honest and you can trust him with you vehicle. Not only will he alway be my machanic. He will always be my friend.

Their are very few mechanics out there that are honest. Jim was straight up with me on what was wrong with my truck and got me back on the road within a reasonable amount of time. This is most definitely my go to automotive place.

Best work I've ever had done!! I'm young and a woman and he was very honest with me. He just wanted to solve my problem and he did without hurting my wallet terribly. I would definitely reccommend to anyone!!

This was hands down the best experience with fixing my Car. They're trustworthy, efficient and very well rounded! They have fair prices and excellent customer service. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

My car broke down this morning I brought it to him late morning and I already got my car back in the early afternoon he is very knowledgeable, he actually is very informative and does not talk at you like other mechanics and I don't think I will be bringing my car anywhere else but here from now on going forward
