Great shop! They stand behind their work. I had my Northstar engine's head bolts replaced and love it! On top of that this car would leak oil and they fixed that also. I took it to a shop before this one that could not fix the oil leak, they had no where near the expertise of Powertrain Automotive.Service: Auto maintenanceService: Auto maintenance

Once again i had a great experience at powertrain automotive, everything was done quickly and efficiently, their quote was actually lower than some other places near by, but most importantly, i spoke with the owner and technician and they talked to me not at me. They answered my questions and were happy to have me as a customer, thats rare. I recommend them to anyone that needs automotive repairs

David was very knowledgeable about the problems I was having with my 06 Dodge Ram where several previous shops were clueless about what was wrong. Had all the diagnostic equipment needed and charged a fair price for what was performed. Dave and Alisha were great to work with. Responsive, always answer the phone and very helpful.Dave re-sealed my 07 Cadillac DTS North Star engine. Considering he is about 4 hours away from me and due to my schedule, all of this transaction was done over the phone. Dave didn t hesitate to take 20 minute phone calls on a whim to detail out exactly what work was being performed, and also supplied photos along the way. You can tell Dave eat, sleeps, and breathes the north star engine. Car has run great since.If you re on the fence about getting some work done, give them a call. This place is a GEM! In case you are looking for a mechanic, you found one. Dave is a WIZARD with cars! I have never experienced customer service as good as Powertrain Automotive. I have also never before received my vehicle in BETTER condition than when I brought in in. Not once but TWICE! I brought my manual transmission VW to Dave in Nov 2020 for bearings. Not only did he fix it but he corrected the transmission so the shifting was smooth again. No idea how he did that, but it is real! I just brought the same VW to him today for tire repair and not only did he align them all and check them all, but now the temperature problem it had before I brought it in, is GONE! No more temp sensor light coming on for no reason! Oh and I didn't even mention it to him or anyone there. So, is he a wizard with cars? I think he is. If you want a mechanic who really knows cars, will treat you great and does EXCELLENT work, call Dave and go see him for yourself!! Dave at powertrain must live eat and sleep northstars. If you know about them its every mechanics nightmare but not Dave. He made me feel very confident from day 1 that my motor would be done right and I'd be able to enjoy. If you have a northstar with the dreaded headgasket issue Dave is absolutely the man. I believe every model vehicle has a whisperer i found 1 with dodge trucks and now I have 1 with dave and cadis. Thanks again for getting me back on the road. Powertrain Automotive has been working on my cars for several years. I have always received great service and the only time that something came up, Dave asked me to stop in. Within 15 minutes, the problem was corrected and I was on my way. On top of that, their estimates are dead on and very reasonable for the quality of work that you get.They are definitely the place to take take your car, truck or trailer for repairs.

Powertrain is the most honest auto repair shop I have ever been to. If you need a repair that is covered under warranty and he knows it , he will send you to the dealer instead of making the money himself. He won't try to talk you into a costly repair unless he is absolutely sure it is necessary. If you brought your car to the dealer for service and they messed it up, then take your auto to Powertrain to fix their repairs, he takes detailed pictures of their mistake so you can recover your money. that is why I take my auto to Powertrain in the first place now.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

If you are looking for a mechanic who is knowledgeable, reliable, honest and fair, then Powertrain Automotive in Wickliffe is where you want to take your vehicle. We are lucky enough to have found David many years ago, and neither I nor my parents would think of taking our car to anyone else now, ever. David treats us like family. He takes good care of our cars, no matter what the problem may be. He can fix anything, and he stands behind his work. I trust his judgement and experience completely. I never, ever have to worry that work is being done unnecessarily-David does not operate his business that way. He keeps our vehicles running smoothly and safely, and even calms me down when I panic over silly things! If you want to have peace of mind when you drop off your car for service, then Powertrain Automotive is the place to go! We really appreciate David, and I believe you will too!

Powertrain automotive is a great shop with very friendly/knowledgeable and professional staff the receptionist Alisha very pleasant and understanding of your concerns for your vehicle and Dave whom is the technician has vast experience with many mechanical issues with your truck or car replaced my powersteering pump/Radiator/and removed and replaced my exhaust manifold with shorty headers along with all hoses and leaking lines very reasonable price for great work would recommend

I am the service manager of a local crane service company and I depend a great deal on Powertrain keeping my fleet of 13 trucks and 4 cars up and running. this is made difficult due to the fact the trucks are on the road all the time and have very high miles, some over 250,000 miles. But Dave keeps them going and with out his shop these trucks would never get to these types of miles and still be dependable. Because of the quality of his work I also bring my personal cars all the way from Geauga county for repairs.

I own a 2005 Pontiac GXP with the Northstar engine. I love the performance but like most Northstars, their are issues. Oil leaks develop and the aluminum block. I went to the computer and researched my options. I then get a call from Jake in Ontario Canada, he manufactures the stud replacement kits. He told me that the best man, in the US, for the job was David at Powertrain Automotive in Wickliffe Oh. I contacted David and knew immediately, he was very knowledgeable and trustworthy. He rebuilt my Northstar and I am very pleased with his work. I highly recommend, Powertrain Automotive for any of your auto repair needs. THANKS DAVID !!!!

Dave is very honest and a great mechanic. He can fix all the messes us backyard mechanics make! LOL. Nice guy and family man. I take all my cars to him for repairs.

Update to Review..I repeat stay away from this place at all costs..Caused more problems than they solved..Why don't they have positive reviews..other than one they gave themselvesTry Ron's Auto..and M&S Auto..Both on west side and worth the drive.. My car runs better than everYears later..car continues to run great..based on quality work...Repeat..stay away from these people..looks like lots of bogus reviews..Friends..Family etc!
