Hemly's is my go-to hardware store in the area. Great staff. Recently, I over paid for a item priced by the foot at no fault of anyone. The manager caught the error after I left and made sure my refund was waiting for me on my next visit. (about three times a month). Fantastic bolt crib and drawers of odds n ends parts. Way too much to list. Simply the best department type hardware store around and about as local as you get.

Great store with every fastener you can think of and priced well by the pound. Even more fun when they have tent sales.They have a lot of odds and ends like 55 gallon drums, railroad ties, gravel, Coal, firewood, steel by the pound, etc. Run by nice family!

I love this place. They have everything you could ever want and many hardware items that you can't find at your local big box hardware store. They also cover the gamut from plumbing to well systems to yard equipment to automotive and snow plow supplies. They carry quality products as well like carhart and Redwing boots. If you need something you can't find anywhere else try going here. They will probably have what you need.

Great experience. My local hardware store didn't carry what I needed for my project so I grudgingly headed to home depot but passed Hemlys on the way and decided to try it. They not only had what I needed the guys were so helpful in talking to me about my project just like the guys at my local store. Prices were great and you can't beat terrific customer service like that. Will stop here before home depot every time in the future now.

This is one of those "if they don't have it you don't need it" kind of store. Awesome selection of nuts and bolts, professional and homeowner tools and honest to goodness hardware. They have professional clothing from scrubs to overalls. Metal sales and machine tooling by the pound. One of my favorite places to shop.

This store is a great alternative to the big box stores in the area and has a lot of inventory that the box stores lack, for example if you needed a large size socket or wrench, they'll have it in-stock at Hemly Hardware but not at the box stores. They have a much, much larger selection of nuts and bolts than the box stores. They have quite a bit of what you'd need for metal fabrication in stock.Also, they have propane. (the propane doesn't show up on the google maps search by the way) If it were closer to my home, I'd probably go there first for most of my hardware needs.

They have anything and everything you would need and more and staff I know the people well very friendly very helpful it's the place to go to shop and it is still the same it never changes just their store site is in a different town now and it seems like they've grown you'll never find another great place like h e m l y hardware store

Great staff! Enormous selection of anything. Huge Carhartt collection. Work boots. Milwaukee tools youve never seen before. Always love going here. New location is beautiful!

I'm used to the old location, full of rich, unique finds, rusty bins of things you'd never seen before, a huge variety of by-the-pound stuff. I'll have to find a new source, because now they are pretending to be Leyman's. It's more clothes than by-the-pound, I didn't recognize any of the knowledgeable men who used to staff the place, one kid said he'd just started working there. No price on the by-the-pound, had to walk all the way back to the register and stand in line to find out. No price by the pound on the drill bits, had to ask again. This has turned into any ace hardware, not as good as Tractor Supply, not as good as other stuff. It used to be unique and a treasure-hunt kind of place and now it's just ordinary. Woman at front wearing mask on chin, kid in the back not wearing one, two customers not wearing one, and the mask rule is in effect for another week or more (even though it was clearly posted on both entrance doors). Not going back.

This is a great store always nice friendly people who are willing to help. The store is clean and well organized and all the employees see to have a positive upbeat attitude. Great place to shop!

This is one of the few remaining "old family style" hardware store! They have it all from machine tooling (Mills, drills, cutting tools) to shovels, hammers, Milwaukee tools, work clothing, work boots and everything else you need from a hardware store. My personal favorite is there absolutely MASSIVE selection of bolts, nuts, and other hardware. They have thousands of bins full of everything from metric socket head cap screws to standard Philips head screwdriver and everything in between! Even rarer fine thread metric hardware needed when your working on cars and need some bolts!!This is my favorite hardware store and it's absolutely worth the almost 45 minute drive to get here!!

I have to say I had the worst customer service experience I ve ever had yesterday at this store. We had reserved a UHaul through the UHaul website to pick up at this location at 9 a.m.. When we went to pick up the truck we were made to wait for 45 minutes with no explanation other than the employee who handled the rentals was with someone. Finally she came out of the office without acknowledging us in any way, she never apologized for the wait and then got combative and incredibly rude, going as far as to insinuate we lied about when we reserved the truck. She also failed to give us a copy of the contract with the mileage and gas information and we believe we were overcharged for the amount of gas we had to put in when we returned the truc as the truck was driven about a total of ten miles total.. We returned the truck at different location and had a dramatically different experience. I want to make it clear this is not on UHaul at all.

Very nice store. However your restroom doors don't lock.I pointed that out when you opened but year, year nihalf still not fixed.

Raised prices on steel yet again... $1.25 a pound and no break after 100#s All the steel in the bins are seconds that they bought from somebody and it's not square. $1.00 a pound is more than fair for that stuff.. It's been sitting there for 3 years

If you cant find what you're looking for at the hardware store, they more than likely have it there. Helpful staff and friendly atmosphere. Makes it tough to wanna leave...if youre into tools and hardware.

Trying to shop locally does not always pay off. I called to check if they had an item. The young girl was put off that I wanted her to see how many were in stock. When she finally came back to the phone I asked her to put three asside for me and gave her my name, telling her I would be in later that day. When I arrived she had not pulled the item for me and they only had one left. I purchased the one and went to Home Depot. H.D. had the SAME item for 40% (Yes, Fourty Percent) Less. This will be my last time I will shop at Hemly's!

This place is a modern day Mom and Pop general store right out of the Oregon Trail game. Qell equipped for every day needs as well as larger scale projects.

Can't think of one thing they don't have. If you are looking for new hardware, clothing, machine parts, steel, tools it's here and the staff is WAY nice. 5 stars because there are not 10.

Just moved to Hambden recently. Stopped in for the first time today. Terrific service and help. Ordered driveway stone delivery tomorrow....can't beat that. Had what we needed...and what we wanted. We'll be back
