My brother Brandon and my father in law had a terrible experience at Vavoline when they took my 2017 Honda Fit for an oil change. After the supposed service, they paid and left, only to immediately notice a clicking noise while driving. Pulling over, they popped the hood. They discovered oil leaking all over, both inside and outside my car.Upon calling and speaking to the manager, Tyson, they sent mechanics to clean up the mess. This took about 30 mins waiting for them and another 30-40 mins to clean up the oil.The issue is that the mechanic didnt put on the rubber gasket on correctly. They rushed it and made this mistake.They tried to offer us free oil changed for the future. But we asked for a full refund instead.While Tyson promised to cover any future issues and costs, the initial incompetence and the hassle of dealing with oil leaking everywhere were extremely disappointing. It's worrying when a routine service like an oil change results in such a mess and a promise of responsibility for potential damages rather than getting it right the first time.

I always take my vehicles to the Valvoline Instant Oil Change here in Powell and these guys are amazing. They re always kind, courteous and professional and they get the job done quickly. I go there mainly for oil changes, but I ve also used them to change my transmission fluid and replace my air filters as well. Occasionally I ll even drop by to ask them to top off my fluids and fill up the air in my tires which they gladly do for no charge. The pricing is fair and I always have a coupon waiting for me in the VIOC app. Keep doing good work guys! Thank you!

Excellent customer service still exists! I usually change my own oil to save money but I was short on time and getting ready for a road trip, plus way overdue for one. The staff were very friendly, professional, fast, and knowledgeable. No pushy up-sells, only suggestions. I wish I could remember their names to give credit. Prices are very reasonable for what you get as well. I think I m done doing oil changes myself and will be making this place my regular spot. Thank you so much!Service: Oil change

Recently went in for a long overdue oil change. Historically, mechanics and others have chastised me when I have gone too long in between oil changes. This was not my experience at this Valvoline location. These gentlemen were kind, understanding of my circumstances that led to the long awaited maintenance, and never once made me feel incompetent. I know my way around my car and can do many things on my own. They assumed these things instead of assuming I had no concept of cars which is unfortunately typical in these situations. I will absolutely be making this location my go-to stop for oil changes and check ups. Thank you!!

My daughter and I went in to get an oil change. Angelo informed us that we still had another 1200 miles before the next recommended service interval. Angelo was very professional and I appreciated him shooting straight with us. That is why we are long term customers of the Powell Road Valvoline location for our 5 vehicles!

This was my first time getting an oil change somewhere other than the dealership and I was very pleased. Sam, the manager was fantastic. Very friendly and even helpful in showing me how to reset my oil change history on my car. Additionally, I would like to add that he was mentoring two other obviously new employees, as someone in management myself I respect/admired his leadership and patience in showing them the ropes. It was awesome to see someone so young doing such an awesome job all around!

Oil change and routine service was great, but I had a taillight out and they said they could fix it. The guy had a heck of a time getting the plastic cover off but was able to replace it. Once I got home, I saw that he had chipped part of the cover and did not inform me. So I'm going to pay an extra $60 to replace, which isn't a huge amount, but the fact that he didn't tell me was wrong. Will not be doing business with them again.

Went there yesterday and all the guys were great and knowledgeable. I won t go anywhere else again! My car has a very low profile, so they made sure I was on the lane that wouldn t damage the underside, and were super careful guiding me in the garage. Had a easy, fast experience at this location today. I would definitely recommend it to others. I was helped by both Troy and the manager, Adam, who were both great- friendly and professional. Honest, quality, and fast service here. An oil change only takes around 15 minutes and the staff is super knowledgeable. They recommend things to you and explain why you might need it, but they do not try to push you in to buying anything extra. Overall great experience

Had my oil changed, other than it being way too tight they did a good job. 4 stars because they tried to convince me that my car wasn t AWD despite me saying it was multiple times (I m a woman if that tells you anything). Not sure why they couldn t see that themselves considering they had to go under my car.

I visited Valvoline today. The service was excellent! Glen was kind, helpful and informative! He helped me get all of the updates I needed to keep my car in top shape.He is an awesome employee! Made me laugh and provided a great experience. I was in and out in no time. Highly recommend!

Oil change in older Ford Focus appeared to be overfilled on the dipstick. Went back the next morning and manager made sure to resolve by checking the correct manufacturer capacity and changing it again. They were not at fault but added the correct amount and handled very professionally. Turns out the correct amount looks high on the dipstick. Probably a missing gasket on stick or something to do with its age that causes this. Thank you again to the manager and crew.Service: Oil change

I used to go to the Valvoline in Powell for oil changes and basic maintenance. I went back in Aug/Sept '22 for an oil change before a 12 hour drive vacation. They suggested I needed my transmission flushed so I okay'd it. Little did I know they DID NOT KNOW what they were doing. It took them about 45 min, 2-3 people working in it, and then I finally leave. Jump to my family and I driving south and in WV when an engine light goes on saying "transmission temp too high" or something like that. We found a Valvoline place a few miles from the highway and that mechanic had to google to see what was wrong. Not a good site to see your mechanic, 3 hours from home, googling. Anyway, he sends us to find a Toyota dealer as they did not have the "part" needed to access the transmission. We ended up sitting at the dealership for close to 4 hours while they let the temperature go down to even access it and see what was wrong. Turns out, the Valvoline in Powell had not put the "cap" (it isn't called a cap though) back on incorrectly AND filled the level about 4 quarts too high. The temp increased and popped off the "cap" thus fluid all under the hood, etc. WHAT A MESS. I tried to email 3 times to Valvoline, called once (no answer), online chatted another time. I cannot believe no one has gotten back to me. All I want is my $270 dollars back AND for them to NOT offer this service to ANYONE. We had to continue our drive to close to midnight, semis on the highway flying past us, etc., hoping the car was okay. I kept thinking, if that happened to a young family or an older person, how horrible for them to be in that situation. Valvoline, PLEASE DO NOT OFFER THIS SERVICE and someone please get back to me. Thank you.

Best service you can get! Used to go to Jiffy Lube and tried Valvolline one day and could not believe how quick, thorough, friendly and efficient they are. My favorite part is you Don't even have to get out of your car. Just pull in and a team of mechanics immediately start working on your car. I LOVE them and will never go anywhere else again.

I decided to have them flush my radiator and fill it up with fresh fluid. This was supposed to be a quick operation and they ended up removing the drain plug instead of just loosening it. They then lost the plug and it took an hour and a half to complete the service instead of the 20ish minutes I was told.The guys were polite and tried to fix the problem, and things can happen - they ended up doing the job and I have no hard feelings against them. We all make mistakes!The issue is that they made me miss an important professional appointment (I couldn t leave with an empty radiator!) and told me I d get a 50i% off coupon for my next oil change by email as a way to apologize.It s been almost two months and I never got the coupon, which is very disappointing. That s the part of the process they had control over - making it right - and someone dropped the ball. I ve been to Valvoline for oil changes and other maintenance needs on my two cars for the past six years, and I think it s time to try a competitor.

I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else to get my oil changed. The technicians are extremely passionate about their professions. I don't know much about engines however the technicians explained everything with such detail that I felt confident the entire time I was there. An added bonus is that you get to sit in your car the entire time. I had a great conversation with Eddie while the other friendly people worked on my car. I recommend this place to everyone. Make sure you go to their website and print off a coupon before you stop in!

They were awesome!! Maddy was great and her customer service skills were outstanding!! They closed right after we pulled in, but they had no problem servicing my BMW. They even went above and beyond by running an extra 2 quarts of oil through the engine when I asked. I will definitely be going back for any other automotive needs!! Again Maddy was awesome!!

I have been going here for years and consistently get above-average service that is quick and professional. Today I went in for my AC to be recharged. The manager was off-duty, but he came out on this almost 100 degree day and performed the service himself on my car so I wouldn't have to wait and that his staff wouldn't be rushed to finish the other customers. Always good service and never a problem. Highly recommended!!!

Car problems stress me out majorly and the guys at this location made this super low stress for me!! Great, fast service! I went there to have my wiper blades replaced, and I received excellent service. After installing the blades, the staff had me test to see if it was working properly. During this they noticed that one of the blades was not working properly, so they replaced it a no extra cost and even came over to me and explained that it was a factory defect. So, not only was their service great, but the staff was friendly and competent. I will return here for my future car ailments!
